UNBELIEVABLE! What a great place, tons of freshly made sausages and BEER! Family style dining, if you are shy this is not the place for you! Great place to meet people and chat while enjoying a great sausage and beer. Tourists visiting the Downtown Area should definitely visit, centrally located to all hotels near downtown Los Angeles. MAKE IT TO THIS PLACE!

Rattle Snake Sausage is a must try!
I recommend it for their variety of fancy sausages and unpronounceable beers.
PROS: delicious stuff; nice place to hang out.
CONS: line is usually huge; kinda pricey.

Great infusion of flavors from Mediterranean to Louisiana hot link. They also carry good quality exotic meat such as the duck bacon jalapeno or the rabbit and rattlesnake. By far the best fries ever hands down!

Good service and great food keeps me coming back. The pheasant with peppers and their fries are so tasty! You get to choose two sauces for the fries, the curry ketchup and the chipotle are my favorite. I love their fruili beer too! If you're not into alcoholic beverages, they have a great assortment of sodas like the spiced apple brew. They have a lot of outdoor seating available and it's also socially distant.

Love this place I think it because they have a lot of beers on tap my favorite is St. Bernardus I used to work around the corner and would stop by quite often for a quick beer and dog. Love the fries with all the condiments. Bartender is cool and talkative seating outside to watch all the homeless jk clean safe cool place

Classic sausages are often eaten in Europe. It is recommended to choose something more special. With Sauerkraut, you can enjoy it without feeling! The persimmons are also salty, so they are crispy and delicious.

Love this place. It's like the Baskin Robbins of sausage. 31 flavors of sausage, some exotic like snake and alligator, and some vegetarian too. They have a huge selection of German and Belgian beer too. I love the truffle fries with my sausage and a beer. So good. They could drizzle a littttttle more truffle on there though :-) Really good food for a reasonable price. Not cheap, but reasonable for quality. Mouth watering while typing..

Well known for their assortments of exotic sausages. From snake to rabbits , I opted for the vegetarian.

I know boring right! I love animals so sue me for enjoying this with my meat eating friends! Ive been attending this establishments for years and in the past i found the truffle fries to be overly oily and heavy. But not so long ago I've visited the spot and I loved everything about the fries...

Been here twice and the hotdogs are really good. They also have vegetarian options. I had the Vegetarian Mexican Chipotle and it was surprisingly a bit spicy. It was better than the Smoke Apple Sage. Recommend to come and have a few drinks the place is pretty big inside and they have good service.

This is a must to start your adventure of Arts district. They have many different sausages for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. The French fries are great. Of course lots of German beers to choose from. The seating area inside is open and naturally lit and there is a small seating area outside as well. Line can get long later in the day which is why it is best to start here.

It had been a long time since my last visit. The menu hasn't changed much. Try one of their "exotic" sausage. The fries are decent, the beer selection interesting. I tried the fruli (it's fermented with strawberries) for a slightly sweet refreshing beer.

Lamb = gamey, spicy, distinct and flavorful; would mos def order again.
Rattlesnake & Rabbit = a little gamey and tasted like chicken + frogs legs = interesting; a must try!
Groot large fries = crispy steak fries. We ordered two!
Sassafras bottled drink and it was refreshing!
Love their 5 types of mustard sauce.
Excellent service. Plenty of patio seating.

I felt like the thickness of the roll overwhelms the flavor of the wiener. I like it thick, but that was just too much bread. Maybe I'm unlucky, but they never have the rattlesnake meat hot dog when I go. Their Belgian fries are awesome.

It's ok. That's nothing wrong with or extraordinary about this bar. We just came for drinks, the bar area was a decent size. Bartenders were attentive, but there was nothing remarkable. Wouldn't write home about it.

awesome little gem thats kind of discreetly hidden since it doesnt have a flashy sign. once inside you start off with the bratwurst of your choice at what seems like a small shop and as you go farther in you enter the bar/dining area. simply put awesome beer and awesome food plus a great vibe.

Mmmm

Absolutely love this place! Great food and huge selection of beers. Also this place is vegan friendly. They just got a new dog made by Beyond Meat and it is amazing! Also dont forget to get fries and get the chipotle ketchup and curry ketchup! A definitely must if youre in the area.

Pronounced "verst-koo-shah" or referred to as that place in the arts district that has sausages made with alligator or rattlesnake pulls in a crowd during the afternoon lunch hour. The sausages are grilled accordingly; differ more in texture rather than taste.

On this occasion I sampled the alligator, rattlesnake and rabbit and the traditional bratwurst. Again, the only difference was the texture and not taste.

Tips to ordering:
1. Take a menu from the counter
2. Choose your wurst and toppings (up to 2 free)
3. Choose other items such a Belgian fries or a beer (both great pairings)
4. Pay, take your number
5. Proceed to the back of the restaurant (left and down the hallway)
6. Seating is community style and small tables

Prost!

I just love this restaurant! I just can't help loving this place. The place is really cool and their foods are very delicious that is why I can't help loving this place. I also love the architecture of this place and their designs, they have nice tables and nice setup that's probably why many people keep on coming back especially me. Truly a nice place to dine!

I was looking around the DTLA area, (Arts District) to host a promotions celebration. And one of the choices was this place! After narrowing down all the selections, I decided to give this place a try and they did not disappoint.

First off, this place was kinda hard to find. Their address is listed as 3rd Street, but their entrance is actually on Traction, (cross street, as they're a corner location), with only one sign.

Once I found my way inside, everything just fell into place. Their food was excellent. Their beers are outstanding. I am a fan of trying new exotic foods, so I went for the Rattlesnake and Rabbit sausage. It has a unique taste to it but the crunchy bun and toppings added to the flavors. It pairs well their Oktoberfest beer. Although any of their beers would work as well.

They also have construction paper covering their tables with crayons, so you can find many ways to entertain you and your friends. Stop by and try to place. I will have to come back to this place.

First time here: food was good, staff was nice/helpful, and i felt comfortable with the ourdoor seating.

Would have just liked to have a little more, amount wise, with the toppings. I love sauerkraut &had to ask for extra because there was was very little on the hotdog. Beer was also very good! Overall, i would come back &try more flavors (beer &food) :)

It is always a great dinning experience every time I eat here. Sure the line may be long but that is only because a lot of people know how great the food and drinks are. The food is reasonably priced. I have tried all the items of food on More

One of my favorite restaurants in LA. There's always a long wait at dinnertime but it's worth it. Dozens of varieties of delicious sausages and 40 beers on tap. You should also get a heaping order of fries and sauce to share- so good! Extremely loud inside but still a very cool ambiance.

Great sausage selection, cool location and vibe and REALLY good beer on draft. The bartenders are all very knowledgeable about the large selection of beers they offer and are super friendly. I'm not normally the type of customer who chats it up but I can't help conversing with those guys. I wish you could order food from the bar but I'm still giving them a 5 for the level of service and the really good selection of different types of beers. I'm moving to Sacramento after living in L.A. my entire life and this is one of the places I'll miss.
