So much better than the Phoenix Zoo! It doesn t look like much from the freeway, so I was shocked at how large it actually is once inside. Plan to spend an entire afternoon or day here, wear walking shoes, sunscreen and clothes that you don t mind getting dusty (the paths are flat but they are dirt paths). Also bring spare change to feed the animals from the animal vending machines. Next time I will be packing my own food to eat instead of purchasing the mediocre, overpriced food, but I can t complain with the overall experience. I ll be going back soon!

This was a really fun zoo. I went for a field trip and my group and I had the best time ever. There were lots of animals and Cafe's. There were also some baby animals. I got some fries and a cookie dough ice cream from one of the Cafe's. There were some rides there, but the roller coaster wasn't open. Something interesting that they have is a walk through kangaroo exhibit. The kangaroos can hop along the path with you. There were even some joey's! Overall, I would definitely recommend to families.

Don't waste your money on a facility that invests in adding more animals rather that caring for the ones they already have and expanding their enclosures. Even just driving by this zoo makes me sick with the conditions the bison and gazelle are being forced to live in. Can I suggest you invest in an animal sanctuary (like Out of Africa) that is rescuing animals instead of harming them like this place.

When we first started coming to this zoo, it took maybe two hours to go through. Now, give yourself a full day. Bring lunch and enjoy the train as it goes by every so often. The Safari ride and the train are great ways to get up close to many of the animals. Not crowded at all. All around, a really great day.

Good thing I had a free pass. This Zoo is horrible. The enclosure are way small, very dirty, some of the animals looked sick especially the Macaws. It was all dirt, no grass or trees for the animals. Some animals were so sad looking it made my family sad. And the train? I feared it would break down and we'd get eaten by an ostrich! Because it kept stalling out. They did have some unusual animals, but really, no boundary between humans and kangaroos? you could literally reach out and touch the zebras. And the poor jaguar mom who's baby is in another part of the zoo! This zoo is an accident waiting to happen, unless it already has. Save your money (it's expensive) and go to the PHX Zoo if you want to see animals. I gave it a one star because we did buy a cute penguin at the gift shop.

My children loved the wild life zoo..I chaporoned a field trip.it was alot of walking and some places dusty but very enjoyable for my little ones...vending machines were extremely over priced also the snack bars..3.00 for a 12 oz Iccee..smh..really...3.50 for a small Gatorade..and one machine ate my 2.00...eat before and after somewhere else!

Happy for a west valley zoo. Havent gotten on the rides. Plenty of safe interaction opportunities for the kids. Reasonable gift shop with pretty good selection. Dillons onsite is a plus.

I've been taking my kids here for years. It's alot smaller than the Phoenix Zoo, but more convenient if you live in the west valley. It seems to grow every year. They add more attractions and animal exhibits. It's a must visit place, if you have kids.

I wanted to spend my 50th birthday with flamingos and my fantastic friends and boyfriend made it happen. I actually like this place a little better than the Phoenix zoo because it's an animal rescue and rehab facility. It's a little pricey to get in, $150 for four people, but that goes to help rehab animals so I'm happy to help out.

Pricey, extemenely bad smells in multiple exhibits, gross water for animals to use, bathrooms were gross and dirty, the place was rundown, multiple animals seemed stressed and not well kept, muddy walkways, food/snacks expensive, rides not included with entry fee, and very disappointed. Would not recommend

Loved it... You don't have to walk so far to see the animals. The rides are great, my youngest (4 yrs old) enjoyed them. I would suggest taking in your own food. Food there isn't so great and is over priced. However all profits go to the zoo so that is good. I would definitely recommend going.

Very expensive to get in then there are so many extras to feed the animals, and some of the enclosures are a little small for the animals The(monkeys, big cats, big birds). The live animal show was very short, but the have a petting zoo where you can pay to feed the critters, but feeding the lorakeets was free.

This is by far, the best zoo in Arizona. The animals are close up. The atmosphere is intimate. The animals are well cared for. The price is comparable to the Phoenix Zoo, maybe a bit more, but oh so worth it! I would always recommend avoiding zoos when any school is on vacation, weekends and holidays. If you want a peaceful, quiet experience, go during the week when school is in session.

The zoo is smaller, and obviously doesn't have the money of a larger zoo, however the animals are right there to be enjoyed. You don't have to play "I Spy' to try and find the lions and tigers. The Aquarium is wonderful, modern, and interactive. Overall a wonderful family experience.

Im concerned about people there being caring for the people like the lady that got badly hurt in her arm and that shouldn't happen at a zoo and the barriers should be either higher up or put heavy glass there half way up and your not in the wild and granted the lady past the barrier ,but the fence should not be that wide for her to get her arm or hand into and that is a problem that barrier obviously and fixing it would be a start ,so this doesn't happen again and maybe lowering the price to get in and the rides too and I've had problems in the past there and fixing some of the problems would help too

Great place to spend the day with family. Rides and food are a bit pricey though and the cash-only policy inside the park can be an inconvenience. Still, employees are friendly, there are lots of interesting animals to see, and it never feels crowded...even when the parking lot is overflowing.

I prefer the Aquarium over the Zoo. While the zoo is simple the animals and lay out isn t anything to rave over. The aquarium on the other hand contains wonderful fish, a Dillion s and a cute little Sea Lion show.

The staff were all wonderfully sweet and engaging; I implore everyone to visit the sting ray aquarium where you can pet and feed the little critters. Regina was the zoo keeper in charge of the sting rays and was tremendous fun to learn and converse with : ]

As someone that's been going tho this zoo for years and years, Im so happy to see how much this place has grown. My family really enjoyed our recent trip here and can't wait to come back

I love going here a little more than the phoenix zoo, only because you get a closer look at the animals and you get to see all the baby ones they take care of too! Plus, its been a while since ive been to the phoenix zoo but last time I went they charged to touch the mantarays but its free with zoo admission here!

This place is amazing. They have every animal you can imagine, except for a large diversity of salt water fish. No kidding. The sea lion show was good, but they are young and still learning. The varieties of birds are beyond any expectation. We intended to go for a half day and stayed until closing time.

This place was amazing. There was so much to do, the kids had a blast. I highly reccomend the Tram ride, our driver was so knowledgeable. We learned so much. I reccomend saving the birds and primates for last. Their area is covered very well by the trees. It would have been better to visit them as the weather got hotter. It was awesome getting up close and personal with the animals. The kids really loved their lunch at The Safari Grill Cafe. Prices were very reasonable for a zoo. Kids meals came with a large quantity of food, a drink and a large cookie. Plenty of food for my kids who have rather large appetites. The Aquarium had such a huge variety of beautiful sea creatures. We will definitely be back.

I like this place better than the Phoenix Zoo but it is so expensive. We bought a membership but all that gets you is in the door. You cannot even buy a guest pass! There is no family membership either. It is nice, well kept up, and clean.
