Such a great Zoo. Has everything you would expect to see, but the babies are a huge hit! Be prepared to do a lot of walking. This is not a compact Zoo. I tracked 6.25 miles on my Fitbit during this zoo trip. No outside food or drink allowed, which can be kind of pricey especially when you are there the whole day. Plan ahead bring a hat, and sunscreen make sure you drink lots of water!

this is a great zoo! it is large and a great place to let my 1.5 year old run around to his harsh delight. I think it has gotten a little pricy in the last year or two but it is still a great place to go. remember to bring cash as many of the outlets are cash only.

All of you people who talk bad about this place are so far from the mark it's ridiculous. It's a great and fun place to be at! I've never seen so many different species in one zoo in my life the fact that it has an Aquarium is EXCELLENT! I got to pet a Sting-ray, see a Black Panther chill under his water fountain and play with a log, and more! I had an absolutely wonderful experience the only thing I didn't like was the heat but the animals didn't seem to mind it. They were having more fun then I've seen any animals at the Phoenix Zoo, Denver Zoo, and Honolulu Zoo have. Most of these species are from Africa, and Australia, so I'm pretty sure they're fine and content with their habitats. I had the best time ever, it was GREAT. Better Zoo experience than any of the Zoo's I've ever been before! Leave it to folks from Arizona to not appreciate the splendid amount of different animals this place has to offer, I'm going to go out of my way to say that I believe most of you that write bad about this place don't have a Bachelors degree and are more inclined to pull public education funds as well. This place is AMAZING!!! FIVE STARS, I LOVED IT!

Sad

I absolutely had a terrible time.

I absolutely had a terrible time.
Every single shop was closed, all the machines were either busted or out of order.
Water fountains were limited. The animals looked miserable in the heat.

I'm from Washington state it was my first time there it sucked.

We drove a little over 4 hours to visit the zoo and it was completely worth it. There was sooooo many animals to see. I was not disappointed one bit. You can feed animals for just 50 cents. Many animals here have so much character wich shows a lot about how they are taken care of. Another thing that also stuck out to me was how much more freedom they have here compared to other zoos that I have been to. Amazing experience. Definitely will be returning.

I went last year with my daughter on a school field trip. Waste of money! This place needs to be rebuild. Most of the animals weren't even there. The play ground needs to be fixed. The food is to expensive. I paid way to much for water. Staff members seemed like they hate their jobs.

Lots of fun. The animals are well taken care of with a lot of space. It was expensive though and they wanted even more money for the train, sky ride and amusement rides once you were inside. The food was awful and exorbitantly priced.

One star for several reasons- the cost was very high to not be a complete zoo - $91 AND that was with a $5 off PER PERSON coupon. Several small and plain enclosures, with painted backgrounds, and fake trees, several animals in distress, pacing. We could not find an employee patrolling around the property, and watched several people Throw popcorn at the monkeys- which could have been prevented with staff presence. We went to the safari grill and waited for the line to die down so we could talk to the gentlemen at the register about what ingredients are in their all-beef hot dog. He replied beef and salt I asked if he could double check as our son has a rare allergy- and it could land him in the hospital - he replied with I can t keep going back there !!!! I didn t ask for a full review of the menu, or even three items, just what was in the hot dog. We intentionally waited until the line died to not be stressful and he COULDNT BE BOTHERED. Not a fan of that miserable attitude. We went to another cafe and the staff HAPPILY provided the box for our review. I thanked them over and over, and they did all this with a beautiful HAPPY SMILE. Not worth the $ for overpriced rude service and seeing too many unhappy animals.

Took my daughter here as part of her birthday. It was a tad bit expensive to get in, even with a coupon. But the overall experience was amazing!! So many different animals. So many different beautiful birds with beautiful colors. The zoo was a lot bigger than I had imagined. Every turn there is another way to go and see additional animals. I do recommend.

Wonderful Zoo, so much to see and a nice environment. The animals are living a great life at Wildlife. All rides are extra money and should be included in the admission fee!! Not a cheap place, but so worth it.

Best Zoo in the Phoenix area. Where else can you stand 5 feet away from a pacing lion or go into the cage and feed the birds. If you are looking for a zoo to visit, this should be your #1 choice.

Loved it all! Great Lay out and expansion, Aquarium and all. Only question is why the Singing Dog did not have a companion!! He looked lonely! Did sing, but sad eyes. If a mate is feasible and possible to aquire that would be the only improvement, other than some exotic birds that had temporarily escaped their habitat, and people smoking and offending the fur, feather and scaled residents! Also, great service in the restaurant!

A lot of animals to see there, also a lot of walking too, so be prepared to walk A LOT!! Just to see everything you need to speed walk or use 2 days. Otherwise, choose what you want to see 1st & go from there. I went with work & had a group of kids to watch. It was nice, not too crowded, could use bathrooms easily & learned about the animals with the plaques of info by each animal area. Lots of birds & monkeys too. Definitely bring extra sunscreen & water!!

This is a zoo worth visiting once in a while. A bit costly given its size & number of exhibits, even with a coupon we paid $39 per adult. Their food/beverage prices are way too high, a .25 cent bottle of water sells for $4 BUT it appears there is no restrictions on bringing your own picnic lunch, which is what we plan to do when we return in a few years unless there are substantial changes worth seeing sooner.

I'm sure their expenses require a large income but rather than price gouging the relatively few who can afford the luxury of visiting this zoo, it would be nice if they made it more affordable so many more families could afford this educational experience - garnering their income from a greater quantity of paying zoo goers.

The aquarium "petting pool" allowed people to touch Stingrays (they're safe) who voluntarily swam up to the people standing at the edge of the pool, no doubt hoping for a snack. That was a fun experience, their skin is so soft. Stingray snacks are sold by the pool.

We loved that many of the primate exhibits were not cages but rather completely open islands surrounded by a water barrier filled with large fish.

For the most part, it is a fairly typical zoo

The zoo provides maps but it was still a bit confusing trying to follow it.

The zoo might consider painting clever & artistic signs/arrows directly on the paved walkways throughout the park. Doing this might also include show & feed times for specific animals that might otherwise be missed by interested patrons (which is what happened to us).

Maybe use this signage idea as an opportunity to engage talented children from local schools to submit their design ideas with the winners given free family annual passes or other prizes that costs the zoo $0. Except for the cost of the paint, the artwork would be provided for free as would the media coverage from local news stations. If the paint wears off, that's a good thing. It can be sand blasted off or covered then painted over again, creating an annual or even semi-annual competition that keeps the local families engaged, interested & wanting to keep revisiting the zoo. Just a suggestion...

Some of the habitats are less than friendly for the animals and each year the zoo seems to be less and less cared for. But it seems as though the focus has been on the new rides and less on the animals. I have been taking School field trips here for 20 years.

This place was really fun! They have an extremely large variety of animals and lots of up close events where you can even interact with the animals. I love that they have both a zoo and an aquarium to give you a more in depth experience. This is a great place for kids. However, make sure to bring snacks and water due to the expensive prices they have on food.

Nice place but 3 Stars because of how expensive it is to get in. $90.00 for two people that's insane, had I known I would have made other plans. Went to the local Zoo yesterday and it was $27.00 for the two of us.

What an amazingly huge place! We had a wonderful time. It will tire you out getting to all of the exhibits. My two critiques are: it is CASH ONLY, and some animals are duplicated throughout the zoo.

My honest opinion I had high expectations of the zoo going to a 19 acre zoo I was expecting seeing the animals better exposed habitat as for example the lion/tiger 90% of the cage was cover with leafs and you would had a small window looking to take pics or see them and most of the wild animals as an example rhino, lion, tiger, kangaroo, giraffes were inside a big shed and the other were far away sleeping. I am not against this zoo but I wouldn't recommend my close ones on going. Besides I would also expect to see an elephant which they did not have or we didn't find but we walked through all the zoo. And my last point I would recommend the zoo to have hand sanitizers wipes or liquid after touching the animals it would be nice.

Definitely make a point to visit this facility if you can! They have a lot of duplicate exhibits for the smaller animals and birds. Other than that, the large animals are very close and impressive.

My favorite part is the aquarium!

If you have time, eat at the restaurant there! You can see into the fish tank while you eat!

I can't believe how huge this place is!

I can't believe how huge this place is!

Price: $34/adult
Time to walk through: 4 hours (and that's looking at everything and not attending any shows)

Having been to the Phoenix Zoo, I didn't think that there was any place that could compare. I LOVE the Phoenix Zoo, and didn't really know what to expect coming here. Let me just say, it's pretty awesome. The exhibits are close and personal. One of the coolest parts is the giraffe exhibit: you can feed them up close and they pull out their long tongues and eat basically right off your hand.

Very few of the exhibits were "under construction" and the staff, for the most part was very friendly. It was pretty funny, though, in the aquarium section, there was this girl in her 20's working there on one of the open displays and was instructing people not to touch certain things, but she was on her phone the WHOLE TIME and would basically scoffingly look at customers and sharply say "no" to "Can we pick them up?" ... "Can YOU pick them up?" ... and she would reply: "No...there is a picture over there."...and then she would go back to her phone. I honestly laughed about it, she might of just been having a bad day, but it was pretty bad. Luckily all the other employees were pretty friendly haha.

As you can see, I gave this 5 stars. It's a great place to go to. Just take some quarters so you can get some feed to give to the giraffes and also the goats/lamas at the petting zoo. That was my one regret :) Enjoy!

Overall good experience! They have many types of animals and a lot of them were active and curious! They also have a nice layout with kid friendly features like train ride, petting zoo, playground. However, some of the larger animals had small space with no enrichment (lions, jaguar, sea lions), the aquarium info signs were missing species, and the food stands closed early.

Definitely less walking required than the Phoenix Zoo, and great for kids. However, the Phoenix Zoo seemed to have better enclosures for the animals' quality of life, with the exception of their camel rides.

The new areas of this zoo are good. The older area in the Northwest section are heartbreaking. The Small Mammal House, the chain link jaguar cage, the barren dirt tiger exhibit - these are nothing more than cages, not enclosures. Sadly, this area also fails in education; their white tiger signs explain them away as natural wild wonders and not sad, inbred creatures. This is shocking as one of their very own white tigers exhibit the physical deformities (wide face, abnormal structure and crossed eyes) that come from this inbreeding.
This zoo has a lot to offer but due to some very outdated cages and some very tiny lemur islands I cannot give them a full 5 stars. I don't regret my visit, but I would hesitate to go back until all their animals have better conditions. Until then, if you are trying to choose, go visit the Phoenix Zoo instead.

Not a bad place but they nickel and dime you for everything once you are inside. The rides average 6+ dollars and they are nothing special. For 44 dollars a adult children 13+ are considered an adult you would think the couple rides would be included. Definitely felt sorry for the Lemurs stuck on the tiny island doing hot laps. What blew my mind was they charged to rent wheel chairs for the disabled. Get this 20 dollars I about choked. You just felt taken advantage of. Could be a great little place.

Zoo Bertos serves mediocre food and only accepts cash only, should have went to Dillions. I got suckered in thinking it was a variation of the Bertos chains, but it's not. Zoo is a zoo, nothing spectacular but is enjoyable while it's not too hot outside.

I really enjoyed this place. They have alot of birds which is how the place started. Peacocks walk around as they please. You don't have to pay any money to walk up the giraffe platform, you only pay 25 or 50 cents for the food to feed them. We paid 5 dollars a person to do the little safari ride and it was worth it. We had ostrich come right up to the car. The aquarium side was cute but was not amazing.

Went to Wildlife World Zoo today. I have been going to this zoo for years, used to have annual passes for 4 years and enjoyed the experiences, well worth the price. NOW for my experience today, been a year since I was there and WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. No concern at all for guests sanitation concerns. Bathrooms, went to more than one, did not have hand Soap, no hand towels for drying, hand dryers did not work and no hand sanitizers to use instead. PRICES ARE HIGHER AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON EXISTENCE. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

So upset with them we went today and we got in for like 10mnts my son got a really bad stomachache so we have to go to the Hospital. I ask if we can have credit for another day since we paid 100$ and my kids we're so exited and they said there was nothing they can do . Am so sad we don't get to take them out much

Great zoo, but too hot in the summer. It is a very large zoo and they keep adding more and more exhibits! Love feeding the giraffes, just wish they had more places to do so, it has become very busy and we havent had the chance to feed them lately due to that.

There was much more to do than I expected, I can't type it all! Feel free to talk to all the birds, many are owner surrenders & are very chatty. You can wander with the kangaroos, feed the giraffes, & enjoy seeing all the other amazing animals that call the zoo home.

This place is great for family s and very kid friendly. I would suggest going when it is cooler or have extra water and snacks. The snack bar was always packed and it seems that they didn t even have a lot of choices. The aquarium was small but it did have a lot of attractions. The animals where out and about and it was really fun. We also got discounts on tickets through Groupon.
