Food ok. The John Byrne Band was awesome!
The sound was awful for the opening act, No Irish Need Apply. The drums and base were way too loud. Either the sound guy asleep at the board, or he wasn't strong enough to tell the band that they were making poor choices during sound check.

Great service, fair prices. Food was fresh and nice and hot. I would definitely recommend World Live you can usually hear great shows and mingle with an array of people from different cultures. They feature local artists as well as well known people. I saw a fabulous Bass player, singer songwriter there names Tony TNT Jones local phenomenal musician who played for Nina Simone for years. What A Show! Please support this venue.

Have only ever dined here when attending a concert, but who would think they'd have really good food? Ordered a filet mignon here once and it was one of the best I've ever had. Go figure.

Go to place in Philly to see independent artists and well known also. Always friendly staff and excellent food. Subscribe to their email list to see the concerts. Parking is now convenient with the Penn parking lot around the corner.

Awesome place, great sound. Nothing beats a club run by true music lovers! Extremely varied schedule too, I've seen JD McPherson, Nicole Atkins, Helmet, Stan Ridgeway, etc... One of the best clubs in Philly!

Beware... This place has no air conditioning!!!! Me and the hubby came here on 6/1 for the Christine and the Queens show. We were told there would be no place to sit and eat downstairs so we made sure to arrive early and eat by the upstairs stage area. Let me just say I would rather stand downstairs and eat somewhere else beforehand, had I known I was going to be sweating into my plate of food! Apparently they didn't think 88 degrees in philadelphia was worth turning the air conditioning on. That being said, we really did enjoy the show once we went downstairs. Drinks were overpriced but the bathrooms were surprisingly clean for a music venue. Shame we won't be returning to eat. How Absurd!!!!

The World Cafe Live is a great place to see singers, musicians, artists perform live. We had the pleasure of seeing and meeting Valerie June. After her most entertaining performance, she did a meet and greet. Truly a remarkable time.

RACIST BARTENDERS!!! I would come TO this cafe every monday for happy hour and jazz night. the staff was always nice and helpful. I even invited my mother, fiance and aunt telling them how great this place was. im not sure who these women were the night me and my fiance went which was 12/28/15 but they were extremely rude (seemingly to the black patrons). i witnessed the way she would greet other patrons compared the ones of color. she would hound people for ID's as soon as you sat down with jackets still on and purses still in hand and even after asking her to give us a minute, she insisted to argue with us and go back and forth stating that we could not even sit at the bar unless we were 21 which we are waaayyy over 21. i had to tell her 5 times that we just got there and needed a moment. we didnt even have napkins or menus! which are the two first things a bartender gives you upon sitting down. she then continued to argue with me and closed my tab slamming my credit card on the counter. when i asked for a manager the other server stated " oh she'll get him for you. im sure he'll be glad to speak to you" in a very sarcastic tone. the manager did comp the 1 wine i had to a chance to order however i will NEVER return. four white women sat at the bar directly after us in which she gave them napkins, menus, asked if they were eating or drinking and only asked for id after they ordered a drink. but EVERY black person that sat at the bar had to immediately show ID before receiving ANYTHING! she told one black woman that she could not sit at the bar becuase her ID was expired and told her to sit somewhere else. DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THIS PLACE!!

I had never been to this venue before but came to see Lori McKenna with friends and we all had a great time. The tables were a little tight and the menu was typical cafe food,(burgers, wings, fritters) with decent service, but the real attraction was the music. There really wasn't a bad seat on the floor and both the sight lines and sound was excellent. Lori McKenna can really write a song! Overall, It was a great venue for an intimate night of music. I'd definitely come again if another of my favorite artists was playing. Recommended.

I've been here a few times. The first time was for a free Afro Puerto Rican beats concert. I had a blast. They gave great good and an extensive drink menu with creative fun drinks that are a spin on the traditional. My second and third time I went with my husband to see Dessa in concert. The whole experience is great. Good music. Great food. Awesome drinks. And depending on the type of music and band, there is dancing so go have fun and work up a sweat. I would definitely go back. I want to go to their Havana Nights events.

It made me feel nostalgic being here for Cuban night. The music and atmosphere was so good and authentic (mojitos included) that I pictured myself as my mother when she would sit at a club, listening to them 1920s Cuban classics. I really enjoyed that feeling and myself that night! Can't wait to return next month!! @createnescape

First off I wanted to come here for a concert and I was on my way to buy a ticket but it said on the website to make a reservation to reserve seating. I called the place twice to double check that I just needed a reservation to go to the concert. But I was talking to someone about VIP packages and they said that you needed a ticket with the reservation. I am angry that I checked twice to make sure and I was really looking forward to going to the concert. This was very unprofessional.

Did not like sound system. Comes off as wall of sound. Could not hear individual instruments. Fish is hard working, very talented musician. Vocals okay. Cracking voice technique wears thin by end of night. Opening number killed! Worth the trip by itself.

Got seating up on the balcony band it was amazingggg! Cozy seats, waiters asking drink orders, a great view. The only downside was that it's not a great angle for taking a picture, but who cares about that when you're watching an amazing band play!

Great venue with excellent sound. A real Philly treasure. Support local radio! WXPN is one of the best stations out there for variety minus the fluff of modern top40 chart crud. Not cheap but who cares, it's original music at its finest.
