My wife and I volunteered this past weekend helping to get the attending crowd registered and in to see the Show. Good folks got us set up and we had a great evening. I would definitely do this again.

World Cafe Live is by far one of the best live music venues in the city. You can always expect to see one of your favorite artists perform here if they're ever in town. National and international acts are booked daily and ticket prices are usually not that expensive.

Online ticket prices said one thing and they added on an extra $3.00 when I got there. I've been before and paid $15. The ticket said $15, online said $15 so why am I targeted for $18 cash at the door.

Horrible business skills. Not a way to make a quick buck!

A great venue for live music. I've only been to events in the downstairs diner theater/ auditorium space. It's really well maintained, not a bad seat in the house, and there's a nice variety of artists that come through. While I haven't seen a show in the bar, it seems like a cool space as well.

I recently saw Kina Grannis here! And everything was perfect. She was in the lower stage area, and we sat at one of the tables (old ppl winning when you can dine and listen to your favorite bands). The food and the drinks were phenom! I was not expecting that at all. Very intimate venue. Can t wait to go back!

I love this venue and appreciate the various artists they have here that I wouldn't be able to see at otherwise. It is intimate without being cramped and the sound always seems to wrap around you at just the right level without being obnoxious. I have seen several artists of varying styles here over the years and it has always been a great experience.

WORLD CAFE LIVE IS HANDS-DOWN THE BEST CONCERT VENUE IN THE AREA.

I've been going to shows all around Philadelphia and the suburbs for twenty years, and this place takes the prize for best acoustics and sound, best customer service, and most comfortable show environment.

The shows at Downstairs Live (the larger of the two venues in their building) are generally set up with a mix of tables, so you can enjoy drinks and a meal or snacks during the show. There's a bar area at the back of the space, which tends to be a little noisy. There is really not a bad seat in the house.

If you're up for a really top-notch experience, try the mezzanine seating.at Downstairs Live. The mezzanine is a large open balcony that looks over the lower level and stage. The first row of mezzanine seating is big, very cushiony couch seats. The second row of mezzanine seating is bar seats that sit up pretty high, so you can easily see over the couch seats in row one. The wooden bar seats are a little tough to sit on for a whole show, but they're not bad. (Better than standing on a sloped floor at the TLA any day.) All mezzanine ticketholders can use the tables they have set up at the rear of the space to have dinner before the show. Then you can mosey over to your couch or bar seat and relax and see the show, with waitress service throughout your stay. There is a ticket premium for the mezzanine seats, but I think it's worth it, especially for the first row.

The Upstairs Live area is a smaller, narrower bar/restaurant set-up with a stage to the rear of the space. Easiest to see the performers if you're seated near the front; definite visibility issues at the back tables. Bartenders are very friendly, and the menu is a great. Sitting at the bar is a great option for seeing a show solo.

There are multiple bathrooms throughout the building (multi-stall restrooms on each level), so there's never a long wait.

The building is easy to find. There's lots of metered street parking on the upper level, and if you can't find a spot there, you can circle around to the big new public parking lot at 31st and Walnut. (Two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do.)

The box office staff, hosts, bartenders and wait staff are, with very few exceptions, friendly and professional. The food is very good, though the menu can seem limited at times. (It changes frequently.)

Overall, it offers a first-class concert experience with unrivaled creature comforts and customer service.

Loved Live!!! My family and I went to see my cousin's band here the other day in the downstairs room. The whole show was done very well including lighting and sound! My cousin said the backstage workers there we're very helpful and they made it easier to set up and play. The upstairs bar area was a great place to wait before the show. The food was phenomenal! You have to try their burgers I love that there's an open mic night on Thursdays, great touch. We will absolutely be coming back and keeping up with future acts.

I've seen the John Byrne Band here 2-3 times and enjoyed each performance. Seating is limited so get there early if you don't want to stand for several hours.
Bartenders at the crowded bar are very attentive. Never had to wait more than a couple minutes to get a drink.

The atmosphere in the shows here are great but the food is probably out of a hundred percent like a 50 they need to do better and they need to change their menu because of people come here all the time like once a month they're tired of the same s***

This venue is as everyone has (mostly) said - great for local talent and not expensive. In terms of food, there are many vegetarian options and happy hour specials are great. The menu is limited, but what they have is pretty good.

Great food, very good venue. Upstairs band did sound check during dinner - that was VERY annoying. That should be done in the afternoon, not at 6:30. Downstairs venue has great sound.

I was there for my birthday gathering of 20 people and a comedy show. The service started off great, But as the night went on I believe it was just to many of us and the orders were getting mixed up along with the bills. On the flip side the food was great and the show funny.

Great venue. The downstairs is all I've experienced, but the atmosphere and sound is fantastic. I wish the parking situation was better, but it's actually decent for the area. Hopefully an artist I like is performing upstairs soon so I can experience the restaurant. Definitely one of the best concert venues I've been to.

Saw Sheer Mag here. Every chance you get to see Sheer Mag, you should go see Sheer Mag. The venue was huge, the atmosphere was great, and the drinks were well poured. There really wasn't a bad viewing angle either, the positioning of the stage is very acommodating to the whole room. Great place to see a performance.

On November 24th we got married there! Upstairs ...the venue was wonderful and the staff were fantastic! Bridget was our coordinator and did a fabulous job and made our lives a lot easier. We have been getting rave reviews about the food which by the way, was so damn good. I can't say enough good things about World Cafe , they were totally accommodating and a pleasure to work with. To bad we only get married once but also a great place to have any kind of celebration.

This place probably deserves four stars for the food, but I love WXPN so much for the quality music that they provide on a regular basis. I've found many new artists which I never knew about previously by going to their shows! Their upstairs location is usually reserved for open mic nights and very fresh acts. The mezzanine and down stairs venue usually hosts bands which have a little bit of traction already. Enjoy!

Great place to come in after work as a destresser. Came here during their comedy night special. Happy hour was worth it. These broccoli fritters are highly recommended. We ordered two dish of them. Other recommended dish that we tried: chicken fajita quesadilla and chicken wings - Korean BBQ. They are a little pricey. Cover charge depends on the events. There are free events available so check their calendar on the website. There is a paid parking lot available or there are streets metered parking as well. Cash and cards are available as forms of payment. Happy Hour is from 5-7 pm. Dress code vary depending on the event but it mostly dressy casual. So if you're in the area, check them out.
