Undoubtedly the best vegetarian restaurant in Christchurch with fabulous staff! My favourite place to dine :)

Loved this place so much the first timewhen I popped in for a takeaway snack that I returned two days later for lunch with a friend. Yum Yum

Ordered the vegan big breakfast, cashew milk chai latte, almond mylk masala coffee latte, and vegan omlette. Honestly one of the best vegan breakfasts I've had. Everything was flavoured so well, the staff were so friendly, and the restaurant is just beautifully and aesthetically designed too. There are board games to play while you eat, and a small shop with vegan/health/meditation related products. Amazing.

I think the food are so nice for both of vegetarian and non.

Oh so yum. If you are a vegi or vegan find this place. We will be returning, probably for breakfast

I can't believe I've waited so long to come here. We had a wonderful family dinner here, including young children. We will certainly be coming back to try all the different chai options!

Delightful service with a pleasant atmosphere. Menu has many delicious choices and the specials menu is updated daily.

Delicious food. Will prepare extra vegan options if you book a group in advance. Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant, and the shops are filled with all sorts of interesting things.

Excellent vegetarian food and drinks. The burgers are brilliant.

A little gem of a place, everything on the menu is delicious, and all vegetarian with a lot of vegan friendly options too. A wide selection of teas, juices, smoothies, and of course coffee. A very relaxing place to go for breakfast or lunch. Worth booking in advance though because it is usually abuzz with people. There is also a boutique health shop with plenty of giftworthy items and a very unique music shop full with an assortment of instruments, some of which I have never seen before. Well worth a look! Friendly helpful staff throughout make this a very welcoming place. There are also meditation classes and a spiritual side to the place, but you don't have to be interested in a spiritual journey to enjoy their great selection of fresh healthy food!

Omg I love this place. The staff are so attentive and loving and the food is exceptional. I had the humming burger with a gluten free bun - outstanding. The food is all vegan but don't let that put you off. I can't speak highly enough of the experience I had there. Going again soon.

We've been a couple of times now and the food is fantastic. Good portion sizes and tasty, well thought out dishes.

August 2019, dropped to three stars.

A few weeks later and not quite as good, sadly. Because I enjoyed the Humming burger so much last time I ordered it again. It wasn't as good. Nice, but the burger patty was about half as thick and it was served in two slices of a ciabatta loaf (served in a soft bap last time).

On top of that the difference in service from the two wait staff guys was like night and day. One was very nice and friendly, with the other guy coming across as disinterested and dismissive, especially when we were paying. Considering the premise of the business I found that both surprising and annoying.

Maybe nor our favourite restaurant after all.

Food was good but no one asked for water, No water on tables

A nice vegetarian restaurant. I was there a few months ago and can't remember what I had. I do remember that it was good.

A must visit restaurant for the vegetarian,here you can try something different mate!

Delicious food and friendly staff. The place was full; it took over an hour to get our meal Loved the huge section of teas!

I enjoyed the meal. I'm not a vegetarian but really couldn't tell that the pattie wasn't meat. However lower rating because there is no wheelchair access. Six steps to get into the restaurant which was difficult for this double amputee. Good service

Amazing food (even for a non-vego) and great atmosphere

Had sumptuous vegan lunches there three consecutive days in mid-December 2010 while on holiday. Very sorry to hear of the subsequent quakes there in early 2011, but glad the restaurant has survived. Cannot wait to return NZ for another great meal there!

Kia ora. You will love this place! Every detail inside is beautiful and welcoming, there's a long table ready for a large group, beautifully set. The service is so lovely, we felt so special and we were there just for breakfast. The food was absolutely divine. We shared the Vegan big breakfast and the Plant Based breakfast dosa. Even the drinks were divine. I cannot recommend this experience enough, I'll definitely be back. While you are there, don't forget to check out the shop.

Appreciative of what the staff are trying to achieve but the food wasn't up to scratch unfortunately.

Great vegetarian restaurant (this is coming from a avid meat eater). There is also some pretty cool shops there.

One of our most favourite family dine in restaurant..Healthy food with holistic ambience..Must try their Gluten free pancake and turmeric latte,there's wide variety of gluten free,vegan and vegetarian food to choose from...

The vegan big breakfast and vegetarian big breakfast where horrible, no flavour, discusting texture and it gave me hours of stomach cramps..
Would not recommend eating that from their menu.

So happy to have found this gem! Amazing variety of teas and vegan options. So happy I came here for breakfast. I actually was so full I didn t need lunch. The atmosphere is quite lovely and the server was so kind and happy.

Best food I've had in the 18months I spent in New Zealand. Definitely worth a detour

We had two bowls from today's menu and plus two smoothies. The bowl was nicely plated and the food was tasty. Simple but good with good ingredients. Liked it but I felt like it was little bit pricey.

I think this place is awful! Cultural appropriation galore, it has no idea what it is and the food is incredibly average. The whole experience was very odd. Although, it seems to have a healthy patronage of white, middle class people who lunch...perhaps looking for a taste of...um...somewhere? The one star is for the music store, which is fantastic. Coming from Wellington where you have ample choice of well put together places with excellent service and relaxed vegetarian/vegan environments, this was a real disappointment. It felt pretentious and confused.

Food is amazing and they are very helpful when catering for people with food issues.

I love this place. They do such amazing burgers, the best vegan desserts and their kombucha is out of this world. My personal favorite is the halloumi burger, they definitely don't skimp on the cheese. This place will delight even your meat eating friends as it is so diverse.

Absolutely lovely experience. Beautiful atmosphere, excellent food and welcoming service. So many options for those of us with allergies and a cute little shop inside also. Highly reccomend, my only grievance was theres little parking around the restaurant that isn't 5 minutes

Great food and amazing tea selection! Everything is veg and most can be made vegan easily. GF options as well. We tried one of the vegan burgers and the chipotle bowl. The burger was definitely the messiest veg burger I've ever eaten. Fell apart instantly. The chipotle bowl is better with a small side of chips to give it some crunch there are 3 shops included in this location. One instrument store, a health food store and a miscellaneous one

They have good clean fancy place but food ain't that great. And being run by a meditation centre they should have non onion garlic option because that food help you focus more in mediation. I was surprised to know that they didn't have that option

What a wonderful place for vegan food with plenty of gluten-free options. The wait staff are so friendly and welcoming. Due to the earthquake in Christchurch, their location is a bit off the beaten path but well worth the effort to get there. Five star service, food, decor, the lot! Always such a high standard in here and nothing is too much trouble as the staff are so helpful and graceful while working. A lovely place to de stress and come out feeling in a better space. The food is good as well so its nice to introduce new people to this amazing venue.

every time I go there to eat I never go hungry when i leave. I would say it's about the same as my mum cooking, and that is saying a lot. because a lot of people love there mum's cooking

We had such an amazing experience at the Lotus Heart. The staff are very friendly and provide excellent service and recommendations. The menu is very diverse for a vegetarian restaurant (curries, pizza and burgers). We loved the vegan curries and dumplings. We would have come back the next day for lunch and dinner if the restaurant was open on Sundays!
