Enjoyed taking my grandchildren to see a show. The Wizard of Oz was very good.
Enjoyed taking my grandchildren to see a show. The Wizard of Oz was very good.
Great venue to see music. You can bring your own food.
Beautiful unique venue. Lawn or seats the sound quality is amazing. See a performance here if you can.
Pack a picnic and a blanket; lawn seats are a great deal. Arrive early because it's always packed.
Fantastic performing arts spaces and surprisingly good place to hike...very family friendly!
Wolf Trap is a wonderful place to see a performance. The venue is beautiful, and a peaceful, relaxed vibe reverberates all around. I have been several times, and am always excited when a musician or comedian that I love is scheduled there.
Fantastic!!! Sting never fails to start a party and keep it going
Good venue and it is a national park. The facilities are a little worn. But always a good time.
Maybe the best place to see a concert in the DC area. Great picnic area for before shows.
I love Wolf Trap! Feels like outdoors under the pavilion, but so civilized...
Love the venue, relaxing and the staff are very accommodating, very friendly
Cool venue for Hapa an iconic Hawaiian band. Wood concert hall is great for acoustics.
Lawn seats at a show at the Filene Center on a summer night is magical! Bring your own picnic including drinks! I only wish it was closer to the city.
We visited for a concert for the first time recently. I would prefer more signs in the parking lots to let people know they are in the right place and where to go, but there were so many nice staff members and security folk around that all I had to do was ask! It was very laid back and relaxing. Lovely venue and a very pleasant experience.
Beautiful concert venue. Love u can take wine and food
Great venue, and you can bring your own cooler onto the lawn.
Parking much improved. Constantly changing cooler policy is a huge pain. Acts are so-so.
Concerts here are ALWAYS on point! One of my fave venues!
Rock of ages was awesome. The only complaint is that they need fans and must tents for as much money that you pay for seats
Love Wolf Trap. Was there twice, a week apart. Ate at Ovations the first time, and brought a picnic the next. Ovations is consistent, if uninspiring, but that's not a slam. They offer a number of options, and a good choice if you have reserved seating. Show up early enough to get easy exit parking, relax through dinner, drinks, and dessert, then mosey over to waiting seats. I prefer the lawn usually, but it's nice to be weatherproof. A true national treasure if you've not been.
Not always the most exciting shows, but a wonderful spot for a picnic!
My favorite venue to see my old favorite bands. Love everything but the parking situation.
Gets hot. Dress for the weather, not the performer.
Broke down in a bus. Had to pull off the toll road until the wrecked came
Love this place. Any venue that let's you bring in your own food & alcohol comes with my highest endorsement!
I would say that for my first time going to the Wolf Trap, I had a great time. The two things I didn't like was getting out of the park. It was definitely easier to get in the park versus out and the last thing was nit being able to take a beer can in the orchestra seats and beung firced to buy a 5.00 souvenir cup. The four star rating is simply because my overall concert experience was great!
Lionel Richie put on a great show! Performed close to 2 hours. He could have used some fans on stage though. Express lanes didn't work out as suggested. Regular lines moved faster. Mixed messages given by staff regarding low beach chairs.
Awesome venue! Awesome Pat Benatar and Melissa Etheridge concert!
We were forced to sit on the outside of the lodge because they sold more tickets than they could fit for John Mellencamp. I paid $45 to stare at a wood wall and when we tried to peek around the sides, the ushers moved us away. I would have had the same experience on my back porch for free. What a horribly designed venue for a concert. Lesson learned...a "Lawn" ticket is a total waste of money at Wolf Trap. John was great though...from what I could hear...
Great venue. Small enough to feel close big enough to attract top names. Easy on site before the performance.
As a sheltered venue, and considering the location, Wolf Trap is delightful. There is ample parking, and plenty of assistance to the physically challenged. There are plenty of bathrooms, and that's coming from someone who used to have anxiety attacks about proper access. The staff are always ready to help you, and are professional in their endeavors to keep everyone safe. My best tip is to bring a couple of bottles of frozen water if you're attending a summer event. As they thaw you'll have cold water to drink, and the outside of the thawing bottle, when wiped across the back of your neck is quite refreshing.
Fantastic hiking trails, a lovely place to visit even when there isn't a show or concert going on. Chihuahua approved! :-)
The setting cannot be beat. Whether you are relaxing on the lawn or in the reserved seating, you will enjoy great sound.
Amazing music venue surrounded by the beauty of nature.
Easy to get to. Facility is clean and organized. Parking is okay. Food is good.
Concerts are great. Need to add fans inside because it gets way too hot. Guy next to me had to have medics come get him because he got over heated
Open air venue for concerts and other performances in DC's Northern VA suburbs. Assigned seating available in the covered area with open seating under the stars on the lawn. 5 recently-installed jumbo hi-def LED screens considerably improve the lawn and balcony experience. Bring your own food and beverages, or purchase from (somewhat pricey) onsite outlets.
I lovw this spot for music. It is nice to be able to bring your own food and drink in.
Fantastic place to enjoy the weather with a picnic or concert.
The staff helped to turn the wonderful performance into an all around great experience.
A great park to run, walk, see concerts and much more. 100% recommendable
A close to unique, outdoor/indoor performance venue, located in a large tract of land with trails and streams. Run by the National Park Service. A definite must visit.
The Barns of Wolf Trap is a beautiful and intimate venue to spend an evening with your favorite musicians. The Hawaiian show was a wonderful escape to the islands for the night.
Great venue. The ovations restaurant isn't great but oh well. Would be nice if they banned smoking on the entire property.
One of the best music venues ever! Been coming here for many years and have seen BB King, Nas, Billy Idol, ZZ Top, Slightly Stoopid, and many others at this amazing venue. It's not really summer if you don't go to a Wolf Trap show or two!
Fun and quick hike in this park. Wonderful theaters in the park.
Wolf Trap is "da bomb." Even during a hurricane, one can view the show as the actors mop up the stage!
Beautiful and historic venue - great place to catch anything from a concert or broadway touring production. Not a bad seat in the house.
The Wolf Trap venue was nice I had seats near the stage for the Nas concert. The food was disgusting and overpriced. The parking can be a disaster but the security did a good job controlling the traffic.
Beautiful venue! The lawn is great, seats are as well. Getting out of the lot after an event sucks!
Variety of shows come through here. Parking is available but is a pain after the performance lets out. Lawn seats are inexpensive but be aware of rude people who will step on your blanket or knock over your food/drink. You can eat and drink on the lawn rather than only water in the actual seats.
Wolf Trap is one of our family's favorite local places for concerts. It's a (relatively) small venue, with the main stage designed as an amphitheater (ground, balcony and lawn seating). They host a variety of acts throughout the summer, with both free and paid concerts.
The grounds are beautiful, with picnic areas outside of the gated area, and they allow food and drink on the lawn. Nothing except for water is allowed in the seating area, so don't plan on bringing anything to your seats.
If you do plan to get lawn seats, you should be aware that the hill has a decent slope, and they don't allow chairs below a certain line (basically the upper lip of the amphitheater). You should also plan on getting to the grounds a bit early. Lawn space is first come, first serve, and popular concerts tend to fill the lawn quickly.
Overall, it's a great venue, and the variety has been getting a lot better over the last few years. If you are a local, you should definitely give Wolf Trap a shot.
Such a great venue though it has super hot in the summer. There's a great variety in the shows here as well. If it's a big concert makes sure to get there early or buy a seat because the lawn can fill up fast.
First time visiting this venue. Absolutely beautiful! Free parking and you can bring your own food and drinks to the lawn area. That's unheard of for any concert venue so that was really cool.
A wonderful outdoor venue. The lawn fills up fast but it's great to have an outdoor picnic while enjoying a performance.
Awesome concert venue! You can bring food and drinks if you're on the lawn, but not in the seated area.
Great venue for outdoor music being a picnic and sit on the lawn
Pretty much the best venue ever. Get the lawn and get there early
Fun....but crowded.....arrive early. No chairs allowed on grass. You can rent cushions with backs. Reserved real seats up front
All things about this venue make it worth going. Loved the space, bring a picnic or buy food there. Bring adult beverages or buy there. Food, music and all in a park.
Very nice place to go watch live concerts musicals and the best part is and you can bring your own food and alcohol in
We went to a Children's Play and enjoyed the play plus the park. It is a much larger park than I expected and well worth the time to investigate the programs offered and the park itself.
What a place!!! We watched Kenny G live and it was amazing!! SIMPLY A GREAT FACILITY!!
Ready to return today. Only nine hundred miles away. Thr Ranger girl was so knowledgeable and pleasant. I spent quite a bit of time listening to her. She was full of information. Worth the trip.
We could not be luckier than to have Wolf Trap within our community! Every year this exciting venue hosts some of the best performances for the entire family, from classical music to jazz, blues, theater, country, and so much more. Take a drive out to the beautiful Wolf Trap facility and have an experience you will never forget!
