Fun but everything is over priced by a huge margin just because they can

It was clean, comfortable and the location was outstanding.
They do everything they can to make the mountain ready for skiiers. The resort is well kept, and the mountain is well maintained. Unfortunate they got rid of their multi-day pass and student discounts.
I love skiing here, but how can they charge peak rates when all the trails aren't open.
Great slopes and fast lines, definitely one of the best for Maryland snowboarding.
Best thing within a 3 hour drive. Enjoy the slopes and house perusing. It's pretty much a hill compared to the west, but what can you expect on the east coast.
Great experience skiing at Wisp! Only 4 stars because the lift and line attendants were not great at doing their jobs. But once you leave them behind, the skiing is great and the Lodge and yurts are nice. Also the rental prices was smooth and the employees there were very helpful.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Process to get started is seamless. The huts are well connected, have changing rooms, restrooms, restaurants, etc.
More specifically, Bob, one of the ski instructors, exceeded our expectations. he took the time to teach our family how to ski, was encouraging, and patient. if you go there and sign up for the group lessons (or private), be sure to ask for Bob.
my reason for only 4 stars is the pricing. $700 for a family of four for the group lessons (included equipment rentals and lift tickets). we didn't even use the lift tickets, and was told they're only good for that day. our time was limited due to the freezing rain, so skiing was extremely difficult for us beginners. also, the food prices were very high, and quality was worse then at a bar.
tubing was fun, and the medical staff was attentive to when folks got injured.
otherwise, positive experience, and I would certainly go back again.
Beautiful view and lots of family friendly activities
Great ski resort. The rental process was a breeze. Got up on the slopes and had a nice half day. All of the guides up on the slopes we're very helpful in picking out what routes you should take
Pretty expensive for what you get. Smells a little for who knows what reason. Clean rooms. The entertainment during the summer is fun, but expensive for what you get. All the staff is very friendly and accommodating.
Lots of things to do for lots of people. My stepsister said she thoroughly enjoyed the snow caoster and tubing track.
As for the slopes, they are great, but the green slopes are arguably the most icy, so beware. The food, however, in the food court is very subpar; Its kinda like highschool cafeteria food.
Great views, wonderful place to visit, lots of activities to do.
We put our son in ski school at the Wisp. He had a great time.
Went on the ski lift, it was a great view and a memorable experience
Wisp is one of my favorite resorts in the area. The slopes are a bit smaller but they are well taken care of and the prices can be very good. They tend to start their holiday prices a bit later than the other resorts in the area which can save alot. The lodge is decent size with plenty of seats. It can still be a bit hard to find seats during peak season around lunch.
Went night boarding after the big snow storm, snow was fresh. Couldn't get it groomed since it just stopped snowing so it was hard to get around to the lifts but that was expected.
Great place to take the kids to use the ziplines, ride the mountain coaster or just ride bikes.
Did not stay at the resort but the staff at the rec area were great and the mountain coaster was awesome
This year wasn't great for snowboarding, but still had a great time.
Only negative was people blasting their music from Bluetooth speakers. Why is this allowed?
For a east coast resort this is pretty good. Mostly man made snow, but has 7 lifts with a range of difficulty for skiing.
Room was clean...amenities were good and service personnel were very friendly....we would not hesitate to stay there again.
Nice slopes. Wasn't too crowded when I went, which was also nice. Slopes arent that long though, so if you're a legit skier or snowboarder, keep that in mind.
Love this place... Summer and winter... Lobby is beautiful...
This place is great during the summer. It's pretty pricey but you can find something everyone will enjoy. We were bummed you couldn't do geocaching. They warned us of ticks and bears. I would think that's a summer activity that would have been fun. We did frisbee golf and that might as well had the same warning. They mow each hole but sometimes it's a narrow strip. I wore jeans this day so I was the designated person to get the frisbees out of the tall grass. I hike often and checked myself after and found no ticks.
We did archery, mountain coaster, the youth obstacle course and frisbee golf. The kids had a blast.
Great four season resort. We primarily spend our winters here skiing. They have cheap season passes and moderate lift volume most weekends. The children's center is great for dropping kids off for a day of ski lessons or daycare.
Great local skiing!!
They have had good snow all winter for skiing. They have received some natural snow and they have been able to make significant snow even after all of these warm spells we have had.
We definitely enjoy the slopes there.
All the employees are helpful and friendly too. Ken always greets you when you arrive. The grill staff are super helpful. Especially when you need to find something in lost and found.
Best skiing resort withing Maryland, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Great hotel rooms and really affordable prices, great for large groups
Beautiful relaxing vacation in a peaceful setting with tons of things to do.
I have skied and snowboarded at the wisp for 30 yrs
Wisp resort was a lot of fun. We skiied, and as beginners it was a perfect place to start off at. Would go again next year.
Room rates are ridiculous. This place capitalized on holidays and does not offer package deals. For 2 nights and 2 days of skiing you are going to pay about $1,000 to ski or snowboard in Maryland. This is ridiculous and the management should be fired for charging so much for "resort" located on the east coast. I am absolutely offended and outraged by the cost of this resort which offers nothing for the cost. Save the money go to Colorado or Utah and truly enjoy yourself.
First and best ski resort I have visited ever, everything was outstanding!
Great service and knowledgeable staff, definitely returning again
.nice but would rather have had a view of the lake from our room.
Very friendly employees and it took about 3mins to get to the bar restaurant from the front desk, but it was a experience on Christmas eve night
Friendly staff and there are few things in the world better than a snowy mountain, I dont care who you are.
I left my goggles and ski gloves in the locker room for 5 minutes, they were gone when I went back. This is the second theft I have experienced today and the first one happened at the cafeteria and was caught by the staff and an officer was called. I was told theft was quite common here. I wonder what kind of people ski here, thieves? Since theft is common, why there s no camera in the locker room? It s my first time here and will definitely be my last time.
Worst customer service! Their website has snow tubing purchase options but after entering your entire life history multiple times on a non mobile website it ends up not working. They have multiple phone numbers for snow tubing in which nobody answers - after 20 ring and 10 calls. They overcharged my account once I finally got through to a phone rep and I had to prove the error through my bank account. The lines to check in are a mile long with just two people servicing. Once our slot for snow tubing arrived, it was icing so we called twice on the way there (a short 10 min drive) and were told it was still operating. Upon arrival, we learned it was cancelled and we had to wait in a 45 minute line for a refund. Once we got to the front of the line the service member informed us we could have just called for the refund.
Beautiful views and convenient to all my favorite places around Deep Creek Lake.
Attended a wedding rehearsal dinner here and it was fantastic!
Pretty nice ski resort for the area, but in my opinion it's over priced.
Great resort. Went ziplining, alpine sliding, and whitewater rafting in a matter of 3 days. Everything was conveniently located so it didn't seem like I was rushing to get everything done.
We visited for the day in the summer. The ski lift takes you to the top of the mountain where there is a great view. We just walked around and enjoyed the scenery. There is a lot to do in the summer though, white water rafting, an obstacle course and a little roller coaster.
Great experience! Very happy with our stay. Hopefully we'll be able to do it again next year. Loved Lodestone Golf Course. Great course. Really well maintained.
Loved the room, great runs and all around good time! Should've had more employees at the cafe on the top of the hill though, watched one dude make sandwiches for 50 people
Facilities and mountain were great the skiing trails were great (in theory). When I went with my family about 60% of the trails were closed due to it being early in the season as well as warm weather. I would recommend waiting till after the holiday season to visit the resort, as they jack up prices by about 25% which was a but if an unpleasant surprise, but outside of that I would say all around positive experience
My family did three trips down the mountain coaster. We went early-ish so the line wasn't too bad till noon. It was a little pricey but worth the experience.
Wisp has made several improvements to the lobby and there are more to come!
Place was busy, beautiful, family friendly, and fun!
This review is just for the hotel - I was therea wedding and did not experience a lot of the resort attractions. The hotel was good, but not great. The positives: the hotel is convenient to a lot of attractions, the rooms were spacious and came with a refrigerator and microwave, the toiletry products were nice and had a pleasing smell. The negatives: both rooms reserved by our group had (minor) maintenance issues, some ceiling tiles (both in the rooms and the halls) were water stained, the ceilings in parts were very low, the rooms were not especially soundproof. I would stay here again for proximity to the attractions (the chair lift and mountain coaster were both fun, and there are a lot of on site activities), but it's not perfect.
Pretty crowded on a busy day. Took about an hour to get through rental. Staff were all pleasant. Snow was alright considering it hadn't snowed in so long. Good experience all around.
Always have great experiences at Wisp. Easy access, great staff, and nice trails.
Clean and organized to move people through quickly.
Wisp is a fun place to visit. Tons of trails and everyone was friendly.
So beautiful, tons of things to do, and super friendly staff!
Friendly fun resort. Parking, crowds, and long lines can be an issue on weekends.
Great afternoon. Didn't stay or ski, just ate. Good drinks and reasonable prices.
Wisp resort was one of the best ski resorts I have ever been to. They had slopes for beginners, experts, and all the in-between. I am looking forward to a season pass next year!
Wisp is been around for years and still remains a great spot to stay and ski. I love the Rossignol shop!
Great mountain resort. We went in the springtime, so we got to experience the mountain coaster and the other family friendly activities (chipmunk ropes course, gem mining, disk golf). We only did a day trip, but they did a great job at accommodating the 50+ students and staff who went on the trip.
I visited during lobby renovation, so had noise, dust, and unfinished. I am glad they are renovating, the area is beautiful. The rooms definitely need better lighting and updated bathrooms.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. I may give them time to update the whole place (pool, restaurant, bar, guest rooms) and try it again.
Good place to snowboard and ski if you're on the east coast
Nice resort. It is worth the extra drive time outside of DC.
What a beautiful resort. Everyone in the area is super friendly and very helpful..especially for a vacation spot. The rooms were very cozy and spacious. The food at the bar and grill was excellent. We will go there again, no doubt.
