Great place except for switch and bait sales pitch to get a tour for a time share. Lots to do. Bring lots of money.
Great facility. Very crowded for a Sunday. Food wasn't the greatest. Water parks are decent but Kalahari is better.
Great place to bring kids and family. Only downside is the meh food that's way overpriced and absolutely biblically bad pillows they supply. Seriously worth bringing your own if your value your neck. Otherwise highly recommended!
This is our favorite vacation spot in the Dells. There are 3 indoor water parks and two arcades. We always have a great time here. The condos and villas are especially nice.
Amazing resort! Tons to do without ever leaving the hotel (indoor waterparks, outdoor waterparks, arcades, mini golf, ropes course, VR experience, laser tag, laser maze, pottery painting, etc) and even more to do off site downtown. Rooms are clean and everything is functional. We had a minor issue with our room (couldn't get patio door to lock, and we were on the first floor so that is a must), and they sent maintenance within 10 minutes and they were in and out within 5, problem fixed. Highly recommend, especially the rooms with the Jacuzzis in them! That was a great way to wind down after a long day!
Had a great time at wilderness! With access to 3 different water parks it never felt crowded. You can bill food and snacks to your room which is very convenient while in the water parks. However, the food in the hotel is on the expensive side and it feels like cafeteria food (Even at their "real" restaurants). Easy enough to fix though either go out for dinner or order in, and save the hotdogs for while your in the water park.
I had a god like time there if you do not like the dell I hate you The food was very good and games and the room it fell like home
My daughter, kiddos and myself stayed here to celebrate my granddaughter's 7th birthday. An absolutete beautiful place! Outstanding staff! Breathtaking view. Beyond perfect accommodations.
Very nice place to stay at, we stayed at wilderness on the lake. Room was spacious had a gas fireplace and even nice gas fire-pits outside
Attended a conference here and I was very impressed. Rooms were nice and the conference facilities were great.
Not alot of out out door slides. Would be a good place in the winter. Staff was not very friendly.
My family and I spent one night at the Wilderness and we had an absolute blast. I would love to give this resort 5-stars but I just cannot do so, and here is why:
This is a family friendly resort with three large indoor water parks. Although the water parks were a lot of fun for my 2-year-old daughter, I could not help but notice the insane amount of alcoholic beverages that people were consuming. One water park appears to be geared more toward small children with a large lazy river surrounding it. This water park was best suited for my 2-year-old daughter and we had a wonderful time. My complaint is this.... If you have one water park geared more toward smaller children, it seems inconsiderate to have a bar serving drinks the size of your head. I witnessed several intoxicated individuals arguing, cursing at one another and eventually the cops were called. We moved our table to the other side of this water park and then had to deal with a heavily intoxicated couple indulging in lewd behavior that was entirely inappropriate for children to witness.
WITH that being said, this hotel would receive 5-stars from my family had their water parks not been serving alcohol at all three pools. Just pick one water park that is family friendly all around for little children under the age of 7 -- with no alcohol, please.
Aside from the water park fiasco, our room was clean and quite spacious. We loved Polka Dot Pots where you can paint your own pottery! We toured this entire resort, each water park and visited all the shops. Overall, this was a great stay with a few flaws -- over-serving alcoholic beverages around small children being the biggest flaw of all which will most likely hinder us from returning.
This resort is the best place to go
I would live here if I could! It is extremely cozy and clean, you could stay in those hot tubs for hours!! And the wavepool is so giant! I recommend going during the weekdays if you can because it s cheaper and less crowded! The food and drinks are also great and the resort is next to an awesome pizza place as well. BUT THE BUFFET. It is SO good oh my lord. So looking forward to coming this winter. Thank you for taking care of your amazing resort. You guys are the absolute best. I 100% recommend going here for your next vacation.
edit: Since I left such a good review... can I live here actually??
Large and spread out playground for water enthusiasts. A room on the second floor is like a room on an highway, constantly busy with guests walking from waterpark to waterpark with pit stops in their rooms. Nice 3 - 4 star accommodations. We stayed two nights, which was enough, and our room was never refreshed. Food is far overpriced compared to quality; same goes for drinks.
Bottom line, be prepared for a lot of walking if you want to experience the variety the parks have to offer. Great waterpark variety with a lot of kids for your kids to play with. Would not recommend for those without kids.
It was a very unique experience. Definitely worth it.
Rooms are clean, hospitality service has been adequate. Best part is the indoor water park, perfect for spring break with kids.
The boys were early to rise and was asleep when their heads hit the pillows. This place wore them out. Ages from 4 to 15 there was something for them all.
Enjoyed our stay here and the kids really enjoyed the water park. It's a bit busy here but what can you expect for July in Wisconsin Dells. We kind of knew that going into it. Overall a great day and would recommend it
We went during the week so it wasn't as busy and felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Well worth the money no matter which size room you get.
Great place to bring your family. Lots of fun swimming options for the kids. Rooms and cabins are clean and staff is helpful when needed. Food at the Waterpark is good as well and we always have great service at the cabanas.
Great opportunities to visit with friends and family
I came here with my boyfriend for my 21st Birthday and it was overall a great expirence but there were some things I just did not enjoy.
1.There was not a lot for older kids to do other than the arcade and swimming because most outdoor activities were closed.
2. We paid for a Luxary King Size Room and was not impressed , we had little to no hot water , fireplace didnt work and the heat only went up to 68 degrees. So when we asked to get a diffrent room like the one we paid 800$ for they didnt have another King Size room and put us in a smaller room and wouldnt refund any type of money.
3. Everything here is overpriced.
The resort is beautiful but needs some more adult friendly things to do. I would wait another 20 years to come maybe with my future children.
Nice place to stay. Rooms are clean amd waterparks are fun. The bars are quite pricey though. Wish the swim up bar was more of a hot tub. Otherwise less expensive than Kalahari for a similar experience.
Lots of options for all ages and weather; little ones love the indoor playland after they're tired and cold.
Great place to be!!!!not overprice for the family!!!!
We had our business Christmas party here and the whole experiance was wonderful. The staff was excellent and Ryan made the planning process
A breeze.
best winter waterpark! it'd be sweet if they got a sport stimulator like the kalahari or had more adult attractions indoor at the theme park. still come here every time tho!
The room was wonderful! Very spacious and clean. Every employee we encountered was very polite and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return.
Our family loves to vacation here! Great staff clean rooms and plenty of fun for all ages!
This place is awesome. All the shuttle and cab drivers we encountered were just hilarious!
The cabin we stayed in was very nice & spacious to say the least. There was 9 of us- the cabin had 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms & a pull out bed in the living room couch-
& the mattress bedroom had a jet Jacuzzi which came in handy!
The water park - gives you the idea that you are in paradise- definitely like your away from home in Florida.(and not 2 hours away)
You walk into the water park - it's warm inside- the sun is beaming down in from all the windows. They have a swim bar- lazy river- water slides- just heaven.
Definitely returning again this summer- nothing but friendly people to socialize and get drunk with! Also the Wisconsin bars-dance clubs know how to get down!
Great water parks! Rented houses for family reunion. Great place to stay
We got the 3 bedroom wilderness condo...loved it! Lots of space!
Pools just closed early, no warning! The wild canyon cafe was way over prices and low quality food (chicken club was a joke) and our server was VERY rude!!! Other then that we had a blast, had pizza delivered pool side and being from Chicago the pizza was actually delicious!!
#Enjoyed our trip here, it had been awhile since we last visited - #Clean and I noticed updates to rooms - #Nice holiday decorations / a true #Joy - we will be back!
Room was outdated. Kids had a great time at the park.
It's always fun! Clean rooms. A lot staff to do in just one place. Love it.
Nice affordable place to stay. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. We love staying in condos while travelling. The kitchen was great to have and saved on food costs. We loved skyway system too indoor parks. I would stay again. Perfect for families.
Great place to bring the family for a quick get away. Some of the staff could use a refresher course in customer service, and management could do a better job of ensuring their staff is a little more focused on service, an less so on their cell phones. Did not run into this in previous visits. So, I'm not sure what has changed in the last year.
Nothing like getting a tan, sitting at a beach in my middle of January.
Went when it was cold and only indoor was open. It was fun and worth the trip for a day or two, longer if you include other area activities. We rented a 2 bedroom villa, the extra expense was worth it to have more space, quite and option to cook own meals. There are plenty of restaurant options on the resort and in town. They have three indoor water areas with single and group slides, river, play area with large dumping bucket, huge wave pool that has glass roof. Plus they have other activities like go kart, arcades, mini golf, rope course, etc.
Stayed at 2 bdr condo on the lake It was a nice condo but the whole side of kitchen eletric plugs did not work had to make coffee and toast on the floor were eletric plugs worked i was room number 301 For amount they charge would not stay there again Next time stay downtown and help private owner not big comapany like the wilderness
Great retreat during the winter, especially if your a Wyndham owner, the rooms are the same nationwide so it's like a second home. The only issue is the frigged hallways, which only get worse after visiting one of the water parks.
Really enjoy my time in the Wilderness. Staff in general very polite and helpful. My kids had a blast. Definitely recommended!
We've been coming here for a couple years now and our family and friends love it. We've down the condo, the townhouse, and the cabin. I'd skip the condo to reduce all the walking because the shuttle service is great. Food has been okay, but we generally cook for ourselves when we come.
Pros: Very clean in the general areas and rooms! Room amenities great. A ton of things to do and places to eat. A decent diversity of water slide and pools for all ages and skill levels. The $25.00 pass for all of the indoor activities very worth it and useful! High ropes course lots of fun.
Cons: Crowded on weekends! Not a lot of seating in pool areas on weekends. Then, in winter they cater to the weekend crowd. We found out some of the water parks close down on weekdays without your even knowing about it (we were very disappointed to have paid for Wild West but not to have been able to use it); and certain water slides not working; and certain lobbys even closed on mon-thurs. Another con for some who have trouble with walking -- the place is so large, you definitely have to plan on walking a lot each day.
A bit on the pricey side but it's a lot of fun in the long run
Didn't stay at this Resort but enjoyed the water park facilities with an adjoining Resort. So much fun anytime of year.
They should have people who spoke Spanish I have days trying to make a reservation for Thanksgiving and so far I have not been able to
Lots of activities for adults and kids. Stayed for 2 nights but was not able to do everything at the resort. Waterparks are great as are the restaurants. Would definitely stay again.
It is a lot of fun here. Carpet in the rooms looks a little dirty and the rooms are OK. Was supposed to get a late check-out since I listened to one of their time share sales pitches. House keeping came anyways, and I assume they realized they made a mistake because towels were on the floor and the coffee pot was in the sink when been got back.
Very enjoyable we stayed in a golf course cabin and it was very very nice and very private.
Our main downfall was that all the watermarks are separate so you cant do all of it without leaving and going to another waterpark. Also some of the parks are closed and we did not know this when we booked which should have been mentioned.
The pools were clean and friendly staff. If I had to choose I would go back to kalahari but we were very happy at wilderness as well.
This is the 10th year we've been here in a row. The best place for family time! Our family has grown and we rent a 3 bedroom cabin for the past few years and we never want to leave. We tried a few others in the dells but the wilderness is very clean and has the most to do. Here is staff helping our 7 year old on a rock wall
What can I say? This is the best resort in Wisconsin Dells. Our favorite hotel is Glacier Canyon Lodge, the rooms are so clean and spacious . The Water Dome is the best Indoor Waterpark. We come here almost every year and it never disappoint us !
We stayed 2 nights over spring break. We loved the restaurants and indoor water parks. We had plenty to do for our 5 year old and 9 year old. There was a nice variety of slides and activities. The drink prices were outrageous in the water park. And the room could have been kept a little better. We loved that they had a recycling bin in our room!!! So glad to see that. We don t find that much.
The rooms are very nice, there are plenty of activities for the entire family to enjoy, and the staff are very helpful and kind. The waterparks here are so much fun!
Great place in the off season, too busy during the busy time
We have been coming to the Wilderness Hotel for years and we always had a good time, excellent rooms, etc. This year we booked the week after July 4th. I know it's a busy time and rooms are being flipped daily, but boy was I surprised when we entered our room. The sliding screen door to the balcony was completely off the rails and couldn't be fixed. The fridge was not level and was wiggly (the door upon opening kept hitting the floor unless you held the fridge up) -- I called front desk immediately to inform them so I wouldn't be charged for either of this things - just an "ok thank you" and hung up on me - would have at least liked a maintenance guy to come fix the screen. All the corners of the carpeting probably haven't had a vacuum taken to them in months. Patio glass door (had some condensation inside it) and mirrors all streaky. Tables and counters sticky. Was just overall disappointed and expect better for 250/night. Prices are getting pretty high for everything too.
Always a great time!! Spring break at the Wilderness is a family tradition.
It is a great place to visit. I enjoyed the indoor water park.
Massive water park resort with SO many things to do! Incredibly clean and friendly staff. The swim up bar is incredible!
It was a ton of fun with the family. A little crowded but it was the weekend so.
Love this place, always fun to go here! 1000% recommendable
Great guides to help. Clean environment. Fun for the family.
9th family trip to the Dells. Our family meets here and we'll be back for many years!
Being that we visited during the winter, the four indoor water attractions nicely spreads the guests out across the resort. There are activities in each area for most age groups to find something entertaining to do.
The staff are friendly, helpful, and most importantly have FUN with you on your escape. They are attentive to safety first, and do a good job augmenting a parent's oversight.
Would recommend and return again, Single father of 4.
