My family and I stay here 1-2 times per year and our experience has been wonderful each and every time! The atmosphere of the hotel is so nice and cozy (warm, two fireplaces, historic and unique rooms). The staff is very friendly and very willing to accommodate nearly any request. The food is great! The hotel location is within walking distance of the downtown shops. Looking forward to our next visit!

This is THE nicest hotel I ve ever stayed in. Every single detail was perfect. I have traveled extensively over the last 25 years for work and have stayed in some pretty awesome places all over the world including India, Europe and Korea, but nothing like the Willcox. Every person that works there gives 110% to ensure your stay is nothing less than perfect. I booked our room with Theresa, who was delightful and very helpful and Kimberly, who checked us in, was equally delightful and helpful. Our room was beautiful and the attention to detail by Regina (thank you!) was crazy insane, our meal in the restaurant was over the top (Ed, your menu rocks!), our waiter Brian was awesome, our breakfast server Geneva made sure our cooked to order breakfast was delicious each morning including THE most delicious made from scratch yogurt I have ever had (again, Ed your menu rocks!) and shout out to Med who made me perfect (and I do mean flawless) poached eggs. Last, but not least, Meghan brought us the most delicious dessert in that gorgeous lobby literally minutes before the kitchen was due to close. The staff at this hotel is exceptional they cater to your every need and are so kind and friendly. I can t wait to stay in this special place again!!

I waited until we had been there for Dinner and brunch to write this review. Dinner was very good and worth what we paid. Our appetizer of deep fried deviled eggs was delicious. My husband enjoyed his filet mignon. It was cooked perfectly. I had the risotto and enjoyed every bite. Brunch was okay. My Spanish omelet was flavorless and pretty gross to be frank. I was sad I had to pay for such a dish and hope they never serve it to anyone else. The drip coffee didn't come with a refill sadly. However, my husband's chicken and waffles was phenomenal. Tasting that perfection of a dish ensured we would come back for brunch.

Beautiful hotel! It's like taking a step back in time. Amazing architecture in this beautiful building.
All I have a picture of is the meal we ate because when I was walking through the lobby, all I could do was take it in. Awesome!

The food and service lived up to the tasteful decor. I recommend the open-faced trout sandwich. My lunch mate had fish and chips. The batter was similar to a panko crust -- light and crispy with just enough salt. We were disappointed with the coffee, though, and the very small brownie bite. We loved the gorgeous artwork that featured horses. It was an enjoyable experience.

I was not a quest at the Wilcox, however, I went there for breakfast. It was the third time I have been to the Wilcox for breakfast. The other visits for the buffet was very good, however, I would not be there for Sunday. I attend Joye in Aiken each year from Naples, Fla. This visit we were advised that they did not offer breakfast to non guests, however, an employee advised my friend who lives in Aiken that we could come since I had a gift certificate. The employee was very nice on the phone. When we arrived the host (bar tender?) was extremely rude. He changed the price of the breakfast from what we had been quoted, and made the visit very unpleasant..

On May 30th a very dear friend hosted a dinner for our wedding party at the Wilcox. Not only did she host the dinner but she and her son stayed at the Wilcox on my recommendation. Most everything was exceptional, as one would expect, except for 3 of the dinners. They were terrible!! I did not say anything that night, nor did the other two that had the same entree. After all, this was a festive night and not to be ruined with complaints. I called the hotel the following week and spoke with the dining room manager, explained the situation and asked that some accommodation be made to my friend. She assured me that it would be taken care of. A week or more went by and nothing. Called again and was told the same thing and again, nothing happened. The third call, she said she would discuss it with the owner and contact my friend. To my knowledge nothing has ever been done regarding the 3 (out of 6) terrible meals served by an establishment with the reputation it has!

A place like the (famous) Willcox should offer skilled and trained staff! It starts with the right handling off a good wine. Opening the bottle, not shaking while trying to open it.I don't want to repeat what I already wrote a long time ago. But we had a good wine from Italy. That's it! Nothing more to say!

Had a very nice Thanksgiving dinner here. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, mainly because of the food and I was very reluctant to have Thanksgiving dinner out. But I was pleasantly surprised how good the food was at the Willcox - it was very close to tasting like a home cooked meal. It was a very close second to my mother's fabulous cooking. I have been here several times since and have never been disappointed.

A wonderful piece of Aiken s history!
A very friendly and beautiful young hostess welcomed us Into the restaurant. She found us a perfect seat to eat lunch. The atmosphere is romantic. The food is incredible. So far, our favorite meal is the spaghetti with LARGE meatballs. The Wilcox has become one of our favorite local restaurants.

This is a lovely old building in downtown Aiken repurposed as a unique restaurant. We went in for a family brunch and had a lovey experience. The food was lovely, and the service was high quality. It seemed to be a major point of interest and for good reason.

This Sunday is mine and my husband's 1 year anniversary. For a week straight I have attempted to book the After hours spa and dinner to celebrate. On 2 separate occasions I spoke with Michelle and Thereasa to book and they both said they would "call me right back". After not hearing back for SEVERAL days I called a final time today to be told immediately that there was not a second massage therapist available. This information should have been relayed back to me as soon as it was found out. Not when I decided to check in for a 2nd time. I was told the massage was from 6-7 and dinner 7-8. I'm glad I called to check in or I would have arrived expecting a service. This is completely unprofessional and I cannot get back my first marriage anniversary either.

Disappointed in the Willcox overall. The ambiance of the lobby, with its living room feel and the small bar area is very nice. Shout out to Kyle and Alli who were our servers during our stay. They were extremely nice, accommodating, and personable. That's where it ends for me. This may sound petty but at $500 a night (2 night stay), my husband and I expected more. From a room condition standpoint we experienced 3 issues: my husband had to fix the toilet handle in our bathroom after it malfunctioned, the shower door did not close properly, and the air controller in our room did not function correctly.
The experience that really turned us off was in the bar/lobby area on 12/28. Several folks were enjoying their evening, having drinks, and conversing. My husband and I noticed the manager for the hotel was ready to go as he stood by the hostess stand. He was sipping on wine himself, checking his phone, and ordering the staff around to clean up. At one point he announces last call and we're closing. It was 10:45pm and there were multiple guests of the hotel enjoying their time watching the clemson vs. ohio st. game. Several guests looked around at each other with a look like, "really"? Not a great way to end the stay. Aiken is a really cool town but we'll probably check out another option for lodging next time.

I loved visiting this place for the first time! I've only just moved here since Thursday and this is a really amazing location. I will be revisiting soon. Thank you for the great service I received with the food and bar service. Thank you.

Great dine and chill option at the beautiful Wilcox "Posh Hotel this weekend! Its been on my bucket list for a few yrs, so finally took the time to visit Aiken. Parking is no issue, wither valet or find on side of the street. Customer service was fine and fabulous. I didn't expect anything less from this historic establishment. I took a few pics outside and in or course for my memories.

We decided to chill in the lobby for some drinks and dinner. We didn't need a reservation, but highly recommend it due to the popularity of the hotel. After 5pm the whole lobby was full and customers were arriving for dinner reservations. Thankfully we timed it just right!

All our food and drinks came out in a timely manner. Presentation is everything to me, and they above my expectations! I truly see why they have great reviews. Everything was flawless from the parking, dinner, service, and out the door! The place is absolutely gorgeous!!!

Yes and Yassssss, I shall return for more in the near future! This is a perfect StayCation for all. Aiken is known for its southern hospitality, they won a award in the Southern Living Magazine a few yrs back. A few historical sites were closed but I enjoyed my time in Aiken.

Contemporary food in an old world atmosphere. Exquisite entrees in a lovely old 19th century setting that at one time hosted such famous visitors as Franklin Roosevelt and Winston Churchill. In the atmosphere of the dining room and bar, you would not be surprised to look up and see a Vanderbilt or Harriman striding across the room. The food is American with southern and international touches. On a recent visit, their lamb shank and salmon were out of this world. The service was everything you expect of a dining room of this caliber and they participate in a Green Hospitality Alliance with a commitment to sustainability. The Willcox is so much more than a restaurant (hotel and spa!) but the dining room gets four stars from me.

The restaurant at the Willcox is the perfect place for an elegant and pleasant evening. They don't just rely on their name and infrastructure; the food is absolutely delicious which adds to the experience.
