Very disorganized! They called in the morning to tell that there's an appointment on the same day. Only to find out upon arrival that no one was expecting.. what a f...ing joke! They also refused to share blood test results on several occasions because of some privacy BS. Who are you kidding? You can't share my results.. with me.. because of privacy???

I come 2015 for ultrasound they found hernia on right and left. They decided to operation they gave me 1 year later operation date.i told them to do both side operation they don't do it.OPERATION finish then my sugar level was 14 I was so bad no food nothing even they s3nd me home with taxi same day with 14 sugar level .after operation my pain never gone.gp said wait I call hospital they never ever listen to me. I wrote many e mail they even send me back joke no answer of health care. After 1 year they scan me again now they told me I have a another hernia its mean 1 year I stay with pain I couldn't work. Even I couldn't lift my kids. Now I have a 3 hernia welcome to do whittington. I mean you pay tax but you can't get treatment like a human been . I am here today 10.30 appointment they told me wait 1 hour after they going to see me.they don't care you I can say to much for this hospital.I ADVICE YOU THIS HOSPITAL WORK UNPROFESSIONAL SORRY I WILL NEVER COME AGAIN.
I was a inpatient at this hospital twice I find doctors, nurses and staff's are very friendly and helpful. I am really happy with the treatment I received.
I would like to thanks everyone who doing so hard work.
Never again will i use this hospital. It was filthy. The man behind the desk was a dim witted fool, who did not know his backside from his elbow. The pharmacy is also shut there on Sundays leaving the dim witted fool behind the reception explain where the nearest open pharmacy is. Never Again.
Zero stars if I could - visited for blood test today and can't believe how rude the staff member was. I will be making a formal complaint. Zero acknowledgement when entering the room, not even a reply to a simple hello, chewing gum with mouth open, staring straight ahead and incoherently muttering when she was initially asking my name & DOB.
When I asked why she was being rude and that it would be nice to be treated like a human being, she was outraged.
Apparently chewing gum with your mouth when your dealing with a patient and not acknowledging them isn't rude. Who knew?
It's a job luv, you might not want to speak to your clients/patients but I'd hope it's part of the remit you're paid for - you're not working on factory conveyor belt.
There were lots of elderly patients in the waiting room and given what the stats say of elderly being lonely these days, it's pretty depressing to imagine that their limited exchanges of the day will involve her.
Back home after five days @ Magdala Avenue for emergency Laparoscopy. To everyone involved. From the ambulance to Victoria Ward , You are a special and important group of people. Thank you very much.
Labour ward excellent, post natal ward very poor, bordering on negligent. The labour team were excellent, providing a high level of professional expertise and personal care. The post natal ward has in contrast been very poor, bordering on the professionally negligent (one or two individuals being exceptions) The midwife in charge of my partner has repeatedly failed to provide her with her scheduled painkillers and other medications, including blood thinners, to the extent that my partner feels she has to shoulder the responsibility of monitering her medication schedules herself. When confronted with a failure to provide painkillers, with a witness to this present, the midwife fabricated an excuse we know to be untrue. Instead of attending to the basic necessaries of care, this midwife and one other have instead given time to an intrusive line of enquiry which we found highly offensive.
Me and my partner have been here twice at the emergency room. The first time was ok, but the last one was a disaster. They didn't make enough examination to understand what was wrong and completely failed the diagnosis, giving wrong/insufficient information for the treatment.
A completely disaster, the institution don't care about the health of the patients. A total joke service. I broke my two elbows and the EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT let me shaking in pain for 2 hours before give me any medicine. They wrap my arms in bandages and send me home. Without any prescription or advice. The worst was the nurse, making xenophobic jokes about me. Emergency department, red hair nurse, blue eyes. Making a formal complaint right now.
This is the worst hospital ever!!!! I had to wait 2 hours longer than my appointment!!!!! Never again!!!!!! Staff not very helpful and doctors very slow.......................
I had been there many times, the staff is competent and friendly and every procedure is very well organised. I have never had to wait more than 15 min. Highly recommended
For getting blood tests and ECG tests this is great. You take a ticket and wait, not too long. Nice staff. Only problem is, it's a bit confusing finding your way around the building, at first.
I'd like to share my experience in the Emergency Room last night - the most disappointing and outraging experience I've ever had in London. I had to take my friend in who had a sudden vertigo attack and have been unstable for a couple of hours. After consulting 111, we were advised to go to Whittington ER. After the assessment we were waiting in the cold, drafty waiting area from 8.50pm, until midnight, when we finally gave up and left. The long wait time on it's own not the biggest issue - being an Emergency room, I understand that waiting times can vary. That said, it wasn't busy.
What really made us leave is the overall atmosphere and maintenance.
During the 3 hours, there wasn't a single cleaning staff tidying up the floors and attending to the rest rooms. There was litter on the floor everywhere and the hospital workers were rather navigating around the debris, then arranging for cleaning staff to take care of it. I've never seen anything like it.
We've seen security staff coming in and out, but no real safety attendance. So much so, that at a certain point an old man showed up, begging for money and cigarettes to everyone in the waiting area. Instead of a security person escorting this man out or into the main hospital area where he might escaped from, he was allowed to loiter around in his tattered, soiled clothing. Nobody at the front desk seem to notice, or care enough to call for help. The man left but then appeared again about an hour later, asking for a cigarette. He then sat down next to a group of guys, managed to get a cigarette, and a short while later walked out to smoke it. As he moved, it was obvious that he has freshly wet himself. He lit up the cigarette around the ER entrance in a way that the smoke was coming back into the waiting area. At that point many of the waiting parties murmured a bit, as it clearly crossed a line.... As we have seen many of the staff leaving at midnight, I said to my friend that we should leave, as the hospital did not make the impression of a place where we will receive adequate care for the health issue at hand. Other parts of the hospital might provide a better care, but the ER room was a true disappointment.
Very good look after me When i go a&e straight they take me very helpfull staff thanks very much Whittington hospital safe my life Dont go North middlesex hospital i was waiting 5 hours still they said wait rubbish Staff ruth if you die they dont care
So far my limited experience in the out patient clinics have been super, really efficient with times and the staff all seem so friendly and nice, from the front desk to the other various places I have been. I'm hoping and waiting for an operation so will review again then.
A largely rebuilt hospital. Good facilities, excellent staff. Volunteer guides help you find your way around. Very pleased with the service I got there.
I was very happy to see the same midwife the whole time, the first time ("low risk pregnancy"). And five years on, I think they are still fantastic. Some nurses seem a bit abrupt at blood test etc, but we all know how much pressure NHS is under (not enough staff, not enough funding...) Plenty of care, love and attention.
Great hospital. The staff are very friendly, keep you informed and although they were clearly very busy they were efficient. I had a very painful kidney stone and they put me on morphine with 30minutes to relieve the pain. Offered my wife and I a cup of tea and biscuit while we were waiting in the Majors section of A&E. And I've never seen Cleaners work so hard. Diagnosis and medication were spot on. Very impressed.
Absolutley fantastic experience! Whether it was the birth centre for the arrival of our daughter, the midwife team or the paediatric a&e when she was tiny, it has always been as good if not better than it possibly can be considering the circumstances... I always turn to the Whittington with full trust!
Our son was born here and we stayed in the hospital (for further checks) for about a week. The staff in the ante-natal and maternity units were incredibly kind and helpful. They tended to our every need patiently. Overall, we had a very good experience.
Very good and fast service at the A&E (out of hours GP). I was looked/registered in about 5 mins after arrival and a GP dealt with me about 20 mins after that. (all this is on a bank holiday).
My wife gave birth in the labour ward and we then had a brief stay in the birth center. The midwives and doctors were absolutely fantastic, handling challenges during the labour brilliantly while continuing to communicate to us clearly what was going on. The support from the midwives at the birth center was brilliant too, helping with some of the initial challenges, and always happy to help with our questions and concerns - we felt really supported and listened to, and got some great advice which has set us in good stead.
Really good service from the hospital and the staff in general. Stay in Coyle ward 3 times for a period over 4 days each time , not ideal but the nurse there worked very hard and are doing their best. I have seen Obstetrician , gastro team who are all very professional and very attentive. Very grateful for the service and the care ! Can make an effort on the food which is not very healthy.....
Excellent hospital, lovely, caring staff, I'm very grateful for the level of consideration and care I experienced during a recent, emergency stay. Thank you.
Appalling service. Had an appoint for 1015 and waited for over 2hrs just to be seen. They should rather make this clinic department a walk-in. Please try and fulfill your appointments
Great hospital, great care and wonderful staff. My husband had a Gastric bypass surgery last week - before surgery Nurse Caroline at the Day Treatment Centre was very kind, helpful and friendly which made the waiting time before surgery less daunting.
Dr Sufi and his team that carried out the surgery were very professional and supportive which made my husband and I at ease before going into theatre.
He stayed over night in the Mercers Ward - the nurses and the doctors on the ward were wonderful and caring and they made my husband's stay very comfortable.
This is the first time we used this hospital and our experience was wonderful.
A big thank you to all the nurses, doctors and staff that looked after my husband during his stay.
No words to describe how you are made to feel as you walk in.. The receptionists at the imaging department were so helpful especially when I asked them if they could make photocopies of my CT scan and blood test requests form they so willingly obliged as well as giving me a follow up on my status in the system The hospital is so clean and well organised . The cafe has a good selection of food. Special mention to the staff at the imaging department especially to Mr Lakshan who calmed me and took me through the procedure of how contrast would work and he was so empathetic and was with me through the whole scan. He is a credit to your hospital.
I would also like to highly recommend Ms Luiza Emiri at the Gastroenterology Department who this morning(27.07.20) answered my queries with patience, kindness and calm. She also went above and beyond to actually call me back with a telephone appointment by my doctor. She is an asset to your hospital and to the NHS. I highly recommend this hospital and will always try to be seen here as much as possible. Thank you
Two experiences at A&E here, one was my sister and the one today was for me. Both times came away with a smile on my face (despite scenarios that put us there) because the staff were so lovely. Today I was not a case it was necessary to treat immediately so there was a bit of a wait, but that didn't bother me too much as they did everything in their power to help when they did come and talk to me. The nurses and doctors were super friendly and while I was crying my eyes out were being calming and reassuring. Sadly I didn't get to say thank you to the two nurses who spoke to me alongside the doctor who did the procedure. I want to thank them on here if they are reading this! Hopefully I'll stop crying soon! Thank you so much to the doctor and those two nurses. you are awesome.
Horrible A&E service. Had the opportunity to speak to a nurse and even she wasn t happy to be there. The hospital should ve been closed down like initially planned!!!
I just enrolled yesterday for stomach ulcer, they enrolled me for 24hrs observations, I got sharp stomach and back pain , when I call nurse they came and give some pain killer but there is no doctor around , from since yesterday I am in ward but no doctor came and see me I requested through nurse more than 10 times but still no one come and care about the patient , we paid high tax for getting this service if patient suffer and there is no doctor around what is the point to deduct our tax for this kind of NHS service , please hope they will look after the patient , I am not recommend Whittington hospital ward for any patient..
Horrible experience, first of all I did not witness clinicians clean any equipment they ve used on me although there is a PANDEMIC. They said that as I am a young woman I will be fine as we are less likely to get most problems despite my concerning symptoms. They will watch you die before they take anyone serious. Also the Dr gave me a prescription with the wrong diagnosis so that I can just go home. The Drs here are the worst representation of the NHS. These type of Drs are the reason why some people would rather suffer and die in silence than attempt to get checked. Despicable.
I have had nothing but the best treatment at the Whittington hospital, the staff involved in my care have been faultless. As a member of staff I am proud to be part of such a great team.
6hours wating at the E&A and we are still haven't been seen!!!! This is the worst hospital ever!!! Don't come here! Unacceptable service and treatment!!!
I went with my boyfriend to this hospital and they had him from 8:30 in the morning with a track for nothing because in the afternoon they told him to go home and go the next day at 7:30 in the morning without eating and without drinking from the day before they have him there waiting without telling him anything or knowing when they are going to intervene. A hospital shame, very upset.
Outstanding treatment received by the lovely midwives at the Labour Ward during a very difficult time. I cannot thank them enough for all the support I was given.
(With it being virtually impossible to get an appointment at my local GP) A recent visit to A&E showed that the NHS can still provide an effective service despite the crippling cuts and mismanagement from the shambolic government. Dr. Shahid had a patient, reassuring and genuinely caring manner and deserves special praise. Keep doing what you do! Thanks.
The a&e its dirty and it smells, I had to wait 3 hours with my head bleeding and I decided to go home and get medicated by my girlfriend after they told I had to wait other 3 hours or maybe more.
Clean, friendly, and they stick to their appointment times. Very rare to be giving five stars to a medical establishment but from my one visit this place deserves it.
I have been at the emergency department on Saturday because I was bleeding and I am pregnant. I was not in a good condition at all. They asked me few questions and checked blood pressure and send me home telling me that they would call me on Monday. I went to another hospital and they checked me straight away as I was at risk of abortion. Very disappointed!
My husband had a bad left forehead and eye pain for almost all day. He was taking some painkillers but did not work and he could not sleep all night. So he called NHS 24hrs to get some help and the gentlemen told him to go to Whittington Hospital immediately and see a doctor. We got to the hospital straight away as he has been told. The lady at the reception was lovely quickly booked him in. Not much later a nurse called him. He was answering for the questions and told her what was his situation but the nurse said she has no idea what the problem would be so he needs to wait to see a doctor. He asked the nurse if he could get a painkiller as he was still in pain. After 3hrs there was no painkiller and no doctor who would see him. How is that possible that when a patient comes into the emergency and the nurse says she has NO idea what it could he has to wait minimum 3 hrs to see a doctor?? IN pain!! We are still sitting here and waiting to be called..and just hoping that is nothing serious!!
I have had all 3 of my children here and have always had good to outstanding level of care. One of my daughter's was diagnosed with type1 diabetes very young and the team here are incredible. I also had a ACL knee operation done, and again amazing care and aftercare. My only concern is the A&E department, in regards to dealing with my daughter's type1 diabetes, they don't listen and have taken or tired to take the wrong course of action on a number of occasions....
Very hard working, heroic NHS staff. Impressive the amount of time and care they give to patients despite the current climate making the NHS staffs jobs even more incredibly important and more difficult than ever.
Had to go to a&e.waited for 5.5 hour first time .Monday 00.00 left at 05.30 unseen Went to the doctors Wednesday for the same thing he gave me a letter refured. Got there at 7pm it's now 00.11 and still not been seen .
When you get discharged from a hospital and you feel that you will genuinely miss it you know you've been treated well. From reception through to consultant they've all been excellent and the building is beautiful.
I'm convinced The Whittington is not a hospital but a multi-storey waiting room. Sick people go there to wait. Patients at urgent care might eventually get treated provided that they survive the wait. My girlfriend got decent treatment there eventually so we got what we were waiting for, I guess. Going there around 10pm and getting back home at 5am is just an unreal experience nevertheless. A couple of people waiting there just gave up and left after several hours of waiting. Pro-tip: bring a book.
Would recommend for their children A&E service. It is better than the rubbish Homerton ' children A&E nurses who need to be trained to talk with manners before leaving them around little kids.
Had been here a few times and every time was greeted with friendly and caring staff. They are always trying their best even at the time when the hospital seemed to be understaffed. Great people and facility here.
I have had 3 ortho surgeries in last 3 years.my experience each time was 100% positive. Great surgeon and his team. Physio. Nurses and all staff excellent. Was kept pain free and comfortable at all times. This review includes all domestic and porter services. Great hospital. Joanne
Appointment at 8am...not a chance...at least 4 hours of waiting..and if you ask for.a glass of water the answer will be:we dont have..clap your hands for NHS :))
The Hospital treat my condition as a child being knock down buy a lorry age 7 were in hospital 8 month know school it took me a long time to get well again. Thank to my father to sort out a big problem with the community
Been going to this hospital for yrs & I've suffered with some very serious life threatening illness from the age off 16 up until now which is still on going- I'm 39 now. I've had of cause my fair share of problems there but as I'm older now & i seem more calm this happens a lot less. Great treatment but as we all no Dr's aren't magicians and they can't suddenly solve everything so you yourself getting a bit of background knowledge on your illness will help.
