If you get a season pass get it in October at the fall festival. Also check conditions and weather in Mercersburg. Choose days with no rain and 32 and below. You can check whitetail trail cams on their website. A lot of fun.

Took the whole family. Tons of fun. Not the highest hills, longest slopes, deepest power, best groomed, or finest scenery, BUT it's a perfect one day or weekend retreat. Slopes that anyone from beginner to experience skier can enjoy. Thursdays in January great for beginners. Fireworks on presidents day weekend. Check it out.

Donny at the rentals was amazing to work with. Very helpful and full of information. My mother was trying to resolve an issue and white tail did a great job. I love coming here and will continue too.

We've been to Whitetail several times, and the experience is always great. The staff is consistently friendly and extremely helpful - I'm always impressed by everyone working at Whitetail! The facilities are pleasant and well-maintained. Lessons have been great, and the instructors are good (the organization of group leasons could be slightly improved). The skiing itself is OK, but what do you want 1.5 hours away from DC? Overall highly recommended as a day ski trip from Washington.

Nice long runs compared to Liberty and Roundtop. Blues are a little more aggressive and lots of fun; we're going to check out the diamonds tomorrow. It does get a little busy by the high speed quad.

Fun family memories. Kids 1st time. We took the lessons and it helped the girls a lot. They were skiing on their own by the end of the 1st day. Staff all around was very nice and helpful.

The Whitetail Resort is a great family outdoors place to enjoy time together. We has the opportunity to ski a few of the trails available as it was early during the season. They are well organized, there's plenty of instructors and there's a lot of time available, as it is open until 10pm with lighted trails. The beginner lifts stop too frequently and even my little kid was bored when waiting on the lift. Something must be done to make these beginner lifts faster. They scanning system is a bit outdated but perhaps works for them. Scanning devices worked sometimes and others didn't. RFID might be costly to implement but there should be other systems available to make it faster and reliable. Great service from all of the staff!!

Great ski resort! The runs are fun and the people are friendly. I enjoy returning time and time again. Just remember to pack a lunch, as a regular sysco cheeseburger with French fries will run you just under $20, and that's before a drink.

After driving an hour to get there we were told that we couldn't go tubing because of a three hour wait because they were sold out. We went home and had to go back another day where we were told that they were once again sold out. We had prepaid for our tickets and were very upset.

Good option for day trip skiing. I was impressed with their snowmaking and trail grooming. Won't blow serious skiiers away and it can get really crowded, but for a weekend ski fix it's fine. They don't have a liquor license so it's BYOB, just FYI.

It's a place to ski. Not amazing. It's an hour and a half from the DMV area. Absolutely worth doing as opposed to nothing. Reasonably priced concessions on the slopes or at least at the base good place to learn family friendly. Not a great place if you're a serious serious skier or boarder.

For being close to DC - you really can't beat it. Well organized staff, good layout, and slope variety. I mean - it's mid Atlantic East coast, so I wasn't expecting much, but exceeded my expectations.

This place was great! It was my first time skiing and I took two of their classes to learn how to ski. One was beginner and the other was intermediate. I thought it was a lot of fun and the instructors were very nice and understanding. If it's your first time learning how to ski, this is the place to go! There's good food for lunch too.

I woke up at about 5 a.m. and we got in the car for about two hours and waited to go ski. When you're about 5 minutesaway my dad said that we are almost there I got confused because well there was no snow on the groundsoon realized that they made their own snow out of snow machines it was actually really cool. In my younger sister in thereit was really cool cuz there was not a lot of people there so I basically had a private lesson for the price of a normal lesson kind of a group lesson but you know it was supposed to be a group lesson.

Great ski, expert domain chairlift quiet on Friday night. Expensive rentals ($54 even if you bring your own boots, helmet).
Nice runs. Nice cafeteria. Free checked equipment for security when required. Plenty of parking.
Only 90 min from DC without traffic.

Good place to ski and conditions were perfect. But i reccomend everyone who go during holiday or weekend days to get the 8 hour one or the full day one because it is really busy. Getting the 4hr ticket, (half of the time your waiting in line. Besides, its a couple dollar difference between 8he and 4hr tickets

Went snow tubing and was mediocre. The line wad not to long however had wait at the top a while. Bring your own food as the resort charges way too much. $4 for bottle drinks, $3.50 for fountain drink and hotdogs anything not was a minimum $5.

Ticket windows were efficient, rental building was friendly and efficient, snowboard instructors Kevin and Jadson went above and beyond. My niece said the salad and mac&cheese was to die for. Thanks Whitetail.

Great family trip. We did the tubing for two hour. It s $32 per person but it s lots of fun for the kids. It also has a fire pit to seat and relax or you can go inside the main building and have a coffee.

There needs to be personnel monitoring reckless riders and taking measures accordingly. Awful lot of incidents occurring simply because there is noone warning anyone who rodes in a way that puts others in danger.

This being my first time, it was an all around great experience. The staff were very helpful and friendly and full of encouragement. The prices skiing/snowboarding were reasonable. I feel like they had something for everyone. Emi was my instructor and she was really good. There were obviously varying levels of skiers in her group and she knew how to work with everyone and at the same time keep a steady flow of the class. She has a way of making you feel that you can do something. They had staff all around making sure had a great experience. The ones running the lifts were friendly and interacted with us, we even shared a few a jokes. It's a family friendly place and great for all levels. I plan on returning a few times this year with my team and my family.

Great resort for family fun boarding and skiing. Location - proximity to D.C. area - amount of runs and the reliable snow making make this the best resort for a fairly affordable price. Great for day trips!

I had to pay full price for a lift ticket and rental despite only 3 runs being open on January 18 &19. 2 greens and a blue. One would think that tickets would be discounted due to less than half the park being open. Pretty disappointed.

We were looking for a ski resort within an hour or two from DC that had snow tubing for the kids and settled on Whitetail. It had something for everyone and the resort is cozy and has a nice coffee shop (a must) complete with fireplace and sofas. The snow tubing was fun for the kids, the runs were fun for the dads ((this time), but the kids we're ready to try skiing by the end of the day.... Next time. Prices are decent and staff was really nice.

Easy place to ski for the day in the DMV region. The passes are a bit pricey for the location and amount of slopes versus out west but it s worth it for the quick day trip. The slopes have enough for basic beginner to advanced intermediate. Easy parking and there s food served here.

My family and I have been to Whitetail many times, but this was my first experience with the Kid's Mountain Camp. I enrolled my 4 year old for the full day program and was nervous how he would do. They were extremely kind and welcoming to him and he was excited to go off with them. They were also patient with him even though I was called to come back about an hour into the camp since he was upset. They allowed me to sit with him while he had snack and then stay close while he went outside for a lesson. His instructors were amazing, especially Kayla. She was sweet and encouraging and even took him aside to give him a quick one-on-one lesson to get him caught up. When I picked him up at the end of the day, he was all smiles and excited about skiing. He will definitely be enrolling for another lesson the next time we are at Whitetail. Thank you, Kayla & staff!

Inexpensive to go to, normally short lift lines on none holiday weekends. the solstice just opened its bar this year so that's fun to go upstairs grab a drink and then get back out there. The only downside of the place is that not all the trails are covered in snow as soon as some of the northern resorts do.

I love this place because it has many slopes for different levels. The people and workers are all very helpful and respectful. They have many restaurants and gift shops too. I recommend this place because it is convenient and better than the other skiing and snowboarding places I have been too.
