Great place, had a fab day out. Though spray painting a donkey and strapping a party hat to it's head does not make it a unicorn. I think those animals would be better left alone. Apart from that, great attraction, excellent value and a good place to spend a day.

Still a great place with plenty to do. Some areas are looking really tired and worn like the adventure golf and tropical house. In fact the tropical house is pretty awful. It's more of a dead tropical house and probably best closed down now. We saw one half dead looking butterfly amongst the dead looking plants. It really stinks too, couldn't get round quick enough. If your not going to takecare of it just close it as it's a real turn off! It's busy and stuff getting worn I understand it's hard to keep up with refurbishment but I really think it's time you invested on the older equipment now.
The falconry display was fantastic. Great bloke with passion for his birds and fantastic with children.

Really good play area for kids aged between 2-6. Have come with nursery twice, and the children have really enjoyed it. Loads to do, farm, water park and rides all suited for the younger age group. Will come again.

Went with three kids under 5 for first time. Really enjoyed the splash water park but time limited to 1 hour only and time had to be prebooked due to covid19. Long wait on all rides due to covid restrictions and closing off of seats on rides so couldnt go on many rides and some rides were completely closed - ticket price should therefore have been reduced or other paid activities such as wall climbing should have been made free instead. Some covid measures made no sense, eg queing next to people with no staff monitering for over 40 minutes but then only operating 2 bumper boats at a time to distance on a pond?! May return just for waterpark again sometime.

The park is good for young children, but terrible for any kid over 6 years old. Sadly, the management offer an incompetent service, and have zero customer service skills. They openly acknowledge they have made an error and activated your More

Amazing!!! The price to get in wasnt overly expensive and the kids absolutely loved it. Great day out, would say its aimed at children aged 10 or under. The waterpark was great and the food was good value for money

Its clean, fairly priced when booked online, lots to do. Animal section could do with better animals. Falcon centre had 1 hawk, with 8 different owls, not very impressive. Only came here as my nearest sister branch twin lakes had shut the water park. Wasnt worth the journey

This was my first visit to Wheelgate Park! On one hand it was nice to have somewhere to go that was suitable for a toddler. The few rides that are there (and working) are all suitable for the little ones to have a go on! My almost 3 year old had a wonderful time!

On the other hand, it was like stepping back in time. The whole place needs a little TLC!!!!! Most things have seen better days! Particularly the tropical house.... the plants are dying! No animals to see in there except a couple of ducks and a few fish! Toilets have seen better days. Indoor area is weird, with random old sofas around the place.

Overall we had a great day, it would be a shame to see it go further down hill without the attention it needs!

Excellent value for money. I have been today with my three grand children age 7 & two 3 year olds they just loved it ideal for this age group. The only fault I found was the toilets near the entrance could have been cleaner and more of them.

The park itself is great. Loads to do and stuff for toddlers as well as older kids. However, there are a lot of out of control children breaking the rules, e.g. touching the animals, older boisterous kids in the under 5s area. Since their parents were unconcerned, there need to be more staff who actually give a toss and tell them to stop. I only saw one member of staff monitoring a play area, where kids were breaking the rules in front of his eyes, and he said nothing.

I think this park is ok if your kids are 5-7 years old.....and that's it! The younger rides are like fair ground rides, nothing special. The splash park has nothing for younger kids, and there were no mats spare to even try the slides out. Staff were just kids and did not have the experience to help things be more orderly.

The park is looking tired in my opinion. Needs some investment.
The food was average at best.

The only real plus is the price point! It's not expensive when compared to other theme parks.....but I would say you get what you pay for, meaning I would have rather spent more money and gone to Alton Towers.

All that said the kids did enjoy themselves.

Ps they let too many people in IMO

We have a yearly pass for wheelgate and visit a lot. It's easy for us as it's 5min drive from home. The new fort park is great and the kids love it. Some part of the park is very tired and is in need of tidying up. The toilets are disgusting and smell awful. A few more tables and chairs are needed for busy times. It's ok but I wouldn't visit if we didn't have a pass.

Great place for kids between 4 and 7 any older and they would probably get bored. Food was basic not much choice unless you like your bog standard burger and chips, prices reasonable but didn t find the eating areas very clean and the floors were full of left overs! We went to watch the falconry show which was very entertaining as we only sat there for ten minutes and the bench a few of us were sat on broke and we all fell backwards! Luckily no-one was hurt! Few things out or order and the rides could do with a little tlc but for kids that don t notice things like that it keeps them entertained for the day.
