Large variety of attractions and the best soft play area I've seen. Very child friendly. Only negatives is the run down appearence; some cleaning and paint would mage a huge difference. The effort put into the halloween decorations is very impressive!

Terrible. My family (8 of us with 2 kids) had planned a day out here after hearing good reviews. We ended up going to White Post farm instead as the front gate staff at wheel gate would not allow my mother and her partner in without a child present. Whist I understand the safeguarding concerns, I do not agree with insinuating that my mother and her partner were there for inappropriate reasons just because we did not all arrive there at the same time with the children. They told them they had to wait outside until we all got there until they would let her in. My mother and her partner were naturally very upset, offended and shocked at the insinuation of being there for predetary reasons and called us to say they were not happy to now pay to get into a place where they had been treated this way. I was also very upset to hear about this and it ruined what was supposed to be a special family day out. Luckily white Post farm if next door and we tried to put the terrible experience of wheel gate behind us and had a great day there.

I am disappointed to see so many mediocre reviews of Wheelgate. I really think, that for the money it really is good value for money and I ve always thought that. Yeah, I do think there s an element of it s end of season so we won t fix our broken toilets and drinks machines, but at the same time I think they have really really worked hard to improve the place. There was a great robot character who was really really funny even for adults. There is a wide array of well looked after animals; there s lots of fair ground rides; there s two fantastic indoor play areas; there s reasonably priced food (it ain t Michelin star quality but come on... is that what you really want when ya take ya kids out for the day?) The staff are friendly and helpful and there are some absolutely fantastic park and play equipment... not to mention the wonderful sandpit. I m not being paid by Wheelgate to say any of this, I just think that people need to realise that the place has lots and lots of things to do and it s a really fun day out... there s even a really well maintained water park! I absolutely think the place deserves a lot more credit and people should be grateful there s such an awesome place for their kids that is a lot more reasonably priced than it s competitors. Can t wait to hopefully come for the dinosaur event at Halloween.
Give the place a visit.. you won t regret it x

First time visit, loads for 6 year old Seth to do but very little there to entertain 1year old Clover, food average, map of the park given at entrance is not very good to find your way round with, found things much better by just wandering around. Water park was the highlight of the day, but had really had enough when the time came to leave and get back on the coach! If or when we go back I would definitely go by car so that we could choose when to leave rather than spend time waiting around for bus time to come around, as once the kids have seen everything and done the water park, there's little to keep them interested

Staff rude and stand in way of wheelchairs, staff sat on floor eating dinner blocking doorways, toilets dirty, disabled toilets to small and dirty, pathways uneven and dangerous for wheelchair users, doorways and flooring in buildings uneven to the point wheelchairs tip in places that should be disabled friendly. Tropical area has five butterflies a couple look like there dying. It started raining staff shut rides and then majority of the staff went home. That rubbish we left after half an hour complained and they offered nothing but rudeness. Absolutely disgusted

Obviously, it's not quite the same, as parts of the park aren't open. Staff here are lovely and they were taking temperatures on the way in. They were advising people to wear masks and reminding people to wear them inside. However, I had hoped that they would not be allowing masses of people in but that was completely wrong. We were able to socially distance ourselves but there is one particular area around the animal compounds that could do with changing so that people don't have to cross paths on the way out. They have sensibly put arrows and a one way system in place in the reptile house and that seemed to work well but I noticed a family not bothering to wear masks in the small animal house. Such a shame that people ignore these rules that effect us all. Could they have someone Monitoring this?

Overall, we enjoyed it but it was limited because we are generally cautious about using play equipment etc.

I've been there a few times, i'm not happy about the pricing system the cost of entrance depends on your size which ment that the cost for my children was the same for adults..also prices have increased each time ive gone there....but they offer great deals on Annual passes and compared to other theme parks Wheelgate is still the cheepest by far and for what you get for your money is 5 star...i have only gave it 4 stars because of the pricing system but overall Wheelgate is on top of my list to visit again very soon

Nice place for little ones. You can virtually spend all day here. Only thing I have with this place is their height restrictions. Most of the rides starts at 90cm and they are very strict then again they charge 3.99 for unicorn ride (pony ride) no height restriction as long as you are 2 year old. Rides should start at 85 with parents accompanying with children.

Very disappointed. I could not, in good faith, recommend this place. It is run down, unkept. The toilets were mostly closed, those that were open were filthy. The food was greasy and not very tasty. The staff clearly did not want to be there, they were unfriendly and miserable. Some of the rides were closed and this was in the middle of the summer holidays. The water in the water part was very dirty, I would not allow my son in there for fear of him getting sick.
All in all it was a poor experience and we won't be going back again.

Love this place, I personally try and go in quieter times including once going on Boxing Day. You can easily spend a whole day here and both my daughter's (2 & 6 years) go home having had a thoroughly enjoyable day. You can guarantee a good night's sleep for everyone afterwards. Great value too when you consider there are petting zoos that are just as expensive (compared to off peak prices).

Took my 2 and 3 year olds on Easter Monday.
It was very busy but the place is big enough that it wasn't a problem.
My kids loved all the different play areas, especially the mini town and the trampolines.
I would say the water park is more suited for older children as my two were unable to use the slide and unfortunately there was little else to do at that part for them.
We found the staff friendly and helpful. The park was clean and tidy.
Food a little expensive but we had taken a picnic.

Great day out for family with primary school age kids. Could have played on the indoor and outdoor play areas all day. Also enjoyed the animals, train ride, small rollercoaster, bumper boats and bouncy air cushion.

Its cheap to get in here but to be honest isnt worth anymore money. Were never any blue mats to use on the water slides as kids pick them up and keep hold of them yet when our kids had been on a slide (when they finally got hold of a mat? the park staff took the mat off them telling them they had to share them. We were there 4 hours and the kids went on 2 slides for this reason. My husband cued for over an hour to get a bottle of water to be told they had run out of cold ones so this one was luke warm. The little shop had already sold out of ALL drinks. This was at 10:40am. Very dated 'theme' park in desperate need of a revamp!!!!!

My children love it here; water, rides, animals, play grounds.
Plenty to do for our 6 year old.
Plenty of places to sit and eat. Restaurant does get busy so best taking your own food.
Large water play area.
Be aware with small children that there are pretty strict height restrictions on rides - never thought much about this until visiting other settings that had the same rides that allowed our 3 year old on.
A good family day out

Great place to take the younger children with a wide range of activities and rides. Easily enough to occupy the entire day. With a fantastic waterpark, Maze, aminals, assault course, slides, boats, rides, soft play, sand, crazy golf, Fort to train, there is something for everyone. No long queues, very clean, staff lovely. Have held a duel annual pass for here and sister park Twin Lakes. Highly recommended

This is a lovely theme park with so much to do. My family spent the entire day here and still didn t get around everything. There s rides, picnic areas, a massive adventure playground, lots for toddlers and little children to do. There s also the biggest splash park and soft play I have ever seen. The bird display was excellent and I found the staff friendly. Unfortunately some of the rides need a bit of TLC. Some had bits broken, some of the rides had no one to man them and some could have done with a lick of paint and a clean. I was also a little disappointed with all the games and wind tunnels that you had to pay money for. It made it it a little bit cheap and money grabbing. I would definitely come back and if you live nearby it s worth buying a family ticket.

A lot of displays although said was on were not on. I would have given it a higher rating if where these shows were to have taken place there were signs saying why they were not on. The attractions for children were good and the water park was fantastic so it's well worth a visit especially if it's a warm sunny day.

My 6 year old loved this park even though it chucked it down for most of the day. The outdoor swim area was fantastic. Rides and activities kept her occupied all day. Indor and outdoor play areas. Whats not to like.

Probably good for kids. Waterpark was nice but you lose the kids and keep getting stressed. Would be nice to have a free water fountain to drink water from for kids. Especially hot days. And need more places to be able to sit and rest at. Its a place I would only go to once. In order to become a regular visit there needs to be more exciting activities for the money otherwise its just a really great marketing strategy but not worth the money.
