Great selection of gluten free foods, fabulous local produce, and many other foods for people who have food allergies or restrictions. Great atmosphere and super friendly and helpful staff.

A great place. Free fruit for kids. Lots of samples for adults. Cheese selection is amazing. Bulk grains and beans as well.

Wheatsfeild has some unusual local stuff. Really the only reason I come here.

Small grocery store specializing in organic foods. The prices are extremely high, and the selection is limited, but if you like organic food this is the place to go. The store is community-owned, the staff are knowledgeable, and if you don't mind paying a little extra, this is a unique grocery store.

Was passing thru when I found this place. Was very happy and it reminded me of my local coop. If you want a snack, meal or bottle of wine, then this is the place for you. You will find this a familiar place if you have spent any time in any health food store. Ample parking as well.

Great selection of gluten-free, healthful, organic and "alternative" foods. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Live out of town, but definetley will be back.

While visiting our daughter and her family in Ames, Westfield is one of our must stops. Love the new store and have always enjoy the wonderful products and friendly staff.

Closest place to Fort Dodge to get healthy food. Think Whole Foods but more local food from the surrounding farmers. It also seemed less expensive than Whole Foods.

I was very happy to find this place. Fort Dodge has nothing like this to compare to.

They have all sorts of organic meats and produce and a good selection of cheeses. The hot food selection could be better. Again, I'm comparing to a bench mark. All in all it has much of the items that a selective eater would want.

I will definitely be back shortly.

Wheatsfield is a welcoming and unique shopping experience. They have so many organic, vegan, fair trade, and just plain interesting items here. If you're looking for anything that's a little trendy and you haven't been able to find it in another grocery store, it's very likely that wheatsfield has at least some of it in stock. My favorite item is their agave gummy bears. Put them in the fridge!

This is a fun Hometown natural grocer! They have lots of organic produce and some interesting vegetables you can't find anywhere else. A nice bulk food section with the make your own Nut Butter machines. Lots of different probiotic drinks and a nice view counter too. Fun to poke around! They also have a co-op membership.

All natural or organic only. Great selections and shopping environment. Great natural food smell as always. Serves fresh sandwiches and coffee there. Love it!

Generally pricey but a large selection of stuff you can't find at Hy-Vee or Walmart. Always nice to buy local when possible.

Wheatsfield is a really good co-op (grocery store) with a ton of local, organic, and sustainable foods, household supplies, and health products. There are great vegetable, bulk grain, and alcohol selections. The meat department is tiny. Prices are as expected. The store was very recently expanded and remodeled. There's a coffee shop/ restaurant now!

Great variety! Organic produce is priced a bit high, but we all tend to expect that. Bulk items are very competitive! And the kombucha from Waukee may make the trip worth it alone! I will definitely be back!

I like the Wheatsfield coop, but I can't really pin down the reason why. The prices are a bit higher than the Iowa City coop, but they're reasonable for Ames. Their selection of produce is good. Their selection of canned and bagged foods are small, and their selection of frozen foods is tiny, and their alcohol section is a little overpowering but I like them. It's just something about the atmosphere and the behavior of the staff. They're friendly. So I like it.

If you prefer organic choices so don't go anywhere except here.

Fantastic choice of food for sale, all ethically sourced. Many free samples. Many options for vegetarians, more than I have seen than any other store in Ames.

This is my natural store of choice in the Ames Area! Absolutely the BEST store for people with food allergies, food intolerance issues, people who want to eat Clean, Vegan, Paleo, Organic, etc. And their lunch buffet and deli are AMAZING!! Wheatsfield will help you live your best life!!

This is a grocery store specializing in organically grown produce, which makes it a little more expensive than a typical grocery store. They also carry many health-oriented and "green" items. Finally, they host numerous healthy-eating cooking classes, which are listed on their website.

I didn't realize until I moved away how lucky I was to have Wheatsfield. As a college student, it was great to know that I could get my membership payment back when I left town. Obviously, I paid more for groceries than my friends who went to Walmart, but it meant making an investment for my health and for my community, and often it just meant hunting down sale prices and limiting extras. Wheatsfield has a great selection of items, the staff is always wonderful, and I love getting to try the random samples lying around the store

A nice selection of high-quality, environmentally-conscious foods and other merchandise. Not inexpensive, but a membership in the co-op gives you a decent discount. Helps support local growers and producers. Staff is great!

Solid coop with healthy food options you can't find elsewhere

I love this store! The employees are super friendly and helpful. If they don't have what you're looking for, they'll order it for you if they can. I don't shop anywhere else!!

I love seeing all of the local items at Wheatsfield. Today I got handmade soaps and locally brewed kombucha! I only wish I lived in Iowa to take not advantage of what they have to offer!

Now this store I've shopped in here maybe 4-5 times but excellent people works here... one guy that works here Andy in the meat dept very nice guy who also supported my church buying lunch for himself they're all excellent people working here.

Always a great selection of meats and cheeses. The bratwurst are my fav.

They have the best food. Produce, bulk, dairy, meat, all of it is the best! Smoothies, salads, and hot-bar too :)

I travel the US and this is one of my favorite grocery stores. Lots of options for plant based eaters and a nice deli. Huge selection of local beers and wines.

I was searching for extra dark (>85%) chocolate as a gift. This place had it, and a wide selection at that. Apart from chocolate they have a fantastic selection of grains and cooking ingredients. The atmosphere is sort of worldly fair-trade. Would definitely recommend checking it out.

Once we got fresh fruits and veggies from them, we've never been able to go back to the regular grocery store. The grocery store fruits and veggies are bland tasting in comparison.
