It's a gorgeous property. They still have a restaurant available for guests to order takeout. The food was great! The staff is very friendly and helpful. I have always liked the Westin brand. If you are in the area, it's a great place to stay. It's centrally located to several attractions. I gave it four stars because I had an issue with my first room and had to be moved to another. I wasn't pleased, but the staff made all the difference. I would definitely stay here again!

I was staying during layover for a few days. In short I really liked this hotel.
The building has a modernized old fashion about it. Imagine 1800s interior having pillars, marble stairs and marble front desk with USB outlets on the furniture.
Obviously 2021 is a poor year for the world.
But even during the gets on everyone s nerves virus and you ve been volunteered lock downs
This hotel really stood out because of the employees and the classic design.

Zack the operations supervisor was working the late shift when I was staying there.
Zack falls into my top 3 best ever service I ve experienced from a person at a hotel in my entire memory.
I work with the airlines; I have been to a lot more hotels than you have (reader)
Zack initially struck me as the manager of the hotel. Zack has a mindset of an owner not a part time employee. Everything from his greetings to he way he picks up the phone, is deserving of compliment.

Great hotel
Great ops supervisor Zack

If you aren't concerned about traveling with an animal, the Holliday Inn is your best bet.
Its a beautiful ambiance, inside the hotel, until you get to the rooms. Outside of the hotel you do not want to be there after dark with a family.. Their "larger" rooms are less than half the size of the neighboring hotel and very dated. There are no microwaves etc. The floors, furniture, and walls had mystery stains and while the bedding is clean due to the cracks, stains, and overall aged feeling you don't feel like it is clean. The only redeeming feature of the room was the rainfall shower head in a very small but beautiful bathroom. I honestly expected better from a Marriott with almost a 100$/ night charge and 30$ a night for parking and certainly did not expect them to be completely outdone by an Express which cost half of their cost a night with free front door parking with only a 2 block difference between the two.

I was traveling through Columbus on a road trip with my large dog and we needed a place to stay that would accept him. The Westin not only accepted my large dog but didn't even charge us a fee and gave us a free bag dispenser for our stay. I picked the smallest room they offered (on purpose) and it was great. The king bed took up most of the room but I felt safe and comfortable being as it was just me and the dog (not much of a guard dog). I see the other rooms they have are very large but I'm very happy with my choice of the small room. The lobby is a beautiful reminder of the history of the building and I LOVED the green wall. All of the staff were great of a the valet was so helpful and kind. I ordered food via the room phone and they called me back when it was ready so I could come pick it up from the desk due to COVID. They were all very kind. I would like it if they would install another water bottle filling station besides the one in the fitness center.

Not really impressed with this place. I guess I was expecting more. I understand things are different now with COVID but the rooms are dated and no where near as nice as the lobby. We didn t get an ice bucket or coffee pot in the room and spent over 20 minutes on hold when we called for them. I think there are far better places we could have gone for the price we paid.

I got this room for my mom and sister because my sister was taking my mom to a nearby hospital in the morning for surgery. I thought it would be nice for them to be close to the hospital since the surgery was very early in the morning and they live an hour and half away. So this would cut out the drive time.

I lived in Columbus for several years back in early 2000 s and always thought this place looked like a really interesting hotel. I even once knew a guy who was a bartender there and he told me it was a great place. He had run into celebrities who were staying there so I was very certain that this was the best choice since it has such a great looking architecture and seemingly great reputation.

I am sad to say that I was totally wrong. My sister and mother said it was very dumpy. It had cleanliness issues, the shower filled with water, terrible view, they said the bedding had an odor, the heater made a terrible noise and they could not rest well, no microwave even though I got them the Jr. suite. They found the refrigerator in the wardrobe in the bedroom unplugged, no access to refreshments the vending was minimal.

I was so certain that I was putting my family up in a nice comfy place for the night and it turned out to be a total waste of money. I think there are much better options in downtown Columbus for less money. Dare I mention how hotels.com ripped me off (whole other story there). I ended up paying a little less than three hundred for a one night stay that should have been 178.

Such a huge disappointment. Dear Westin: you can't get buy on just having a fancy historic lobby. There are other things to consider as well. I have wanted to stay there but have changed my mind.
