Well, first of all, it's obviously beautiful. A lot come here for the surf, but we just came for camping. The lots were decent. Facilities were OK. The trail to get down to the beach was good until the bottom, where it got a little sketchy for anyone not capable. Really wonderful place, though. I'd recommend it.

Wonderful place to escape the heat. Very busy campground during peak season but we'll managed. $35.00 a night camping fees are a bit much though along with having to pay fifty cents for a 2 minute shower is the only reason for a four star rating.

We stayed two nights early May, 2013. Sun was out, though windy the first day so we found the best available "wind - resistant" site. Very private with the bushes surrounding us. The next night, had no wind. The short hike down the trail onto the beach was easy - took maybe 5 or 6 minutes. Then one can walk far up the coast.

As we drove through more of the park, we found other short trails to see more of the beautiful area. We didn't try any of the showers.

It is expensive camping in CA! I think we paid $35/night and a senior discount gave us $2 off-whoopee, eh?!

We ended up staying all day was originally a planned lunch. Views are amazing.

Update: this was one of the cleanest camp grounds I have stayed at. I would definitely suggest this place for your next vacation or get away!

The Trinidad State Beach has a lot going for it in terms of dramatic scenery, with a good walking beach and striking rocks and islands. Also a forest up on the bluff with hiking trails. But the place shows a lot of deferred maintenance. Potholed roads, eroded trails, tags all over the destroyed signage -- not a pretty sight.

Definitely the nicest campground we stayed at during our 6 day norcal trip. Most spots are roomy and relatively separated from other spots. Beautiful park grounds with trails winding through the park and along the cliffs at the coast. Excellent views. Each site has a metal food box in which to keep your food safe from wildlife.

Stayed at the campground for 9 days in August. Fun things to do in the park and a nice home base for redwood and beach adventures. The trail systems, lookouts and beaches are really a treat, though no dogs or bikes are allowed on any of them. The bathrooms were pretty shoddy with regular toilet backups and the showers with a one third chance of nice and hot, cold water, or out of order conditions. Campsites need some clearing of prickly brush and general clean up between campers.

Without a doubt the most beautiful campground I have ever seen. The Japanese have a concept called "forest bathing," where stressed-out office workers spend time in forest settings and show measurable improvements in stress biomarkers. I can think of no place in the U.S. that would be a better spot to do some forest bathing than here, as the trees are majestic, the beach is beautiful, and as a side bonus, in September it was the most bug-free campground I've experienced. Very highly recommended!

When I went to Patricks Point, I took my 4 children, My husband, and my best friend. We stayed for four days. The rim trail is a beautiful walk down to the ocean. My husband also took the kids rock climbing and they looked at the different sea animals that live on the small rocks. They saw seals as well. The nights were really cold so if you are planning on staying here, pack items useful for cold weather!
