Booked a room last minute on a Wed. Place was super busy and parking was a bit crazy.
Check-in is inside the casino. Room was decent for the price. Clean and comfortable. Walls are thin tho. Lots of foot traffic in the hallway and doors closing all night long.
Would I stay here again ... yes. Easy highway access, lots of businesses in the surrounding area, and you can't beat the price.

We ate at the steakhouse. The service was great and the environment was nice. A group at a nearby table had their "service dogs" which has become an excuse for peoe to take their dogs everywhere. My steak Diane didn't have much flavor, but my wife's prime rib was great.

I was having regrets when I saw around the casino but as soon we got into our room i wasn't anymore, the rooms are very nice, clean, bed comfortable, walking shower, it is worth staying here.

Cocktail service is always slow, when they do remember to bring your drink it always takes a good 25 minutes. The bartender in the back on Friday nights is definitely my favorite he's extremely knowledgeable and always polite. The crowd is a little ghetto but we rarely have problems.

Sorry...the original review was meant for another establishment.

For the record I was fired from this establishment. Many fine people that work there. As a parting gift I would like to leave this final note to this place I once called home.

I was fired due to the fact that I tested positive for marijuana. Searching in my mind I can only think of one reason why I was fired...I failed to communicate properly with my team; my family.

First off, there is gum everywhere. I am very meticulous and still hold a very high standard even at my new job. I always tried to go above and beyond. I didn't ever seek to impress the management team all I ever wanted was to make this wonderful place even better.

When I discovered gum under the tables, the gambling machines, the poker tables and the bars I raised hell. Still to this day I think this place can do far better. The bar needs to be raised.

So why the three stars?

Because honestly it's what it is.

If the Stake House is ever going to get the Michelin Star it deserves it needs the utmost care and attention. The staff is top notch. So much potential being wasted.

I am writing this review because I sincerely love this place. The people and atmosphere is on par with any resort. You don't need to offer everything just do one thing well.

The management team needs to listen and react to issues raised by other employees. I scrubbed gum from underneath the Stackhouse and found things far worse.

They changed their cleaning chemicals to Spick and Span which was far too potent. I had to deal with migraines and nose bleeds.

They get three stars because they gave a skeleton crew an impossible task of cleaning every machine in two hours. We never had a say, and some of the management team was downright unprofessional.

The team there is fragmented as no one is willing to take ownership of their work or pride overall in the building they work in.

Don't believe me...do a check under those tables.

If this place should close it would break my heart. I may no longer be a team member...this may not be the best casino in Reno.

My point is that it could be.

Don't let them steal from you. While passing through my wife stopped to gamble with $40, on 11/22 at around 5pm. She did well over the course of 45 minutes or so and cashed out from a machine with $150. She took her voucher to the cage machine to get her cash. After the machine accepted her voucher, it froze. The casino's solution was to put an out of order sign on the machine and tell my wife to leave. Seriously. Refused to open the machine and look at the voucher, refused to review tapes. And when the situation began to cause other players overhearing to cash out and leave (no doubt to prevent a similar stunt from being pulled on them), they told her leave or they would have security escort her out.

Will be contacting the gaming commission. This place shouldn't have a license.

The casino overall is pretty average as far as what you'll find in Sparks. The room (at least the jacquzi suite) was a pleasant surprise. First inside the door is a kitchenette which opens into the living/sitting area. To the left was a full bathroom and to the right was a wet bar. Beyond the bar was the bed and the jacquzi and an open changing area with vanity and closet rack. The view was decent though it was from the ground floor it overlooked the Sparks Marina. Pretty much the one "complaint" is the parking, or lack thereof convenient parking.
Slots weren't too bad, nor was the single deck black jack table. Other guests and regulars alike were all very friendly.

Nice Looking Casino...Did not get to play. Black Jack tables are down due to Covid, Hubby is not a fan of any slots or electronic playing. We did eat at the Steak House and Wow is all I can say. Service was exceptional the food was ok. I had the Coconut Prawn, Yummy was not impressed with the sides. Hubby had the Ravioli and did not care for it at all.

They employees were so rude. They stood around talking about how much they dislike the customers and how they hoped the casino would close again because they wouldn't keep their masks on. I understand that but don't complain about people on the floor. It made me uncomfortable.

Very nice casino with excellent restaurants. The gambling is affordable, rare these days. Most casinos are too expensive for newer gamblers but this place is perfect dor beginners and people who don't want to lose too much money gambling.
