Cocktail waitress refused to serve me my free drink because she didnt see me play or put money into the machine. I had cashed out right as she was asking me for my order, and then she proceded to ask if I was going to pay with cash or play. I explained to her that I just played 20 and a voucher. She was giving attitude so I kindly asked to speak to the manager to see if they would pull the cameras for proof. Manager never came to talk to me, they sent a security guard instead, only to show that I had just put in 20 bucks and a voucher. But since I had already cashed out when she was asking my order, nothing was done about this situation. How inhospitable. Happy 21st birthday to me. God bless.

Meh - we just stayed overnight passing through town. Staff were nice, check in and out was fast and easy (once we found where the registration area was - it's in the casino, not the hotel part). Room was noisy (lots of casino guest traffic in hallways and thin windows). Room was run down, but had fridge and coffee. No bugs, so that was good. Bed was very firm (not a plus for me), pillows huge and rock hard (also not great), but bedding was generous and fluffy (good). Nice to have a few restaurants onsite, but food underwhelming and no room service. It's very much a smoking casino, and likely the pet room was formerly smoking, too - everything was either cigarette stinky or perfumed deodorizer stinky (but not clean smelling). We travel with our old, perfectly behaved little dog (really - he doesn't bark or pee where he's not supposed to. We also never leave him alone or unsupervised when we travel so he doesn't the have the separation issues some other dogs have when traveling). Had to provide a $100 refundable deposit for pet as well as standard pet fee. So, just meh. Could be better or worse.
Too many dirty ppl that go there and work there. Has dirty waitresses only wait on there friends they all speak Spanish instead of English Workers are rude and management don't care. The rooms are old some have been remodeled but not worth the price they try to charge. There are a lot of regulars that go there and its not right that they play cheap waiting for out of towners to come and fill up the buffelo machines then they all jump on them call their friends family to come in they put $1 in machine and say there wife is coming or cousin. It's a joke. If you want to be treated like a human being don't go to western village!!! EVER NOT EVEN TO EAT. I won't even get started on the food....
Love the steakhouse and pancho and willies!! The cafe is awesome for those late night drunchies. I love playing their black jack tables more than anything and the sports bar is a phenomenal place to watch any live sporting events. They dont do the ufc fight nights here though.
Western Village Steakhouse is my very favorite in town. The ambience is upscale yet casually comfortable, the food is exquisite, and the service is outstanding. When you go, be sure to make reservations and ask for Khan as your server. Tell him Kelly with the cane sent you, you'll have the experience of a lifetime!
I won. So I'm happy!! Nice restaurants. Great prices. I had to take a photo entrance with the red stain doors. Good time there. The burgers are huge at restaurant.
I used to give this place 5 start but they took out the table play and now its only slot machines and video gaming. Restaurant is good and has great prices.
Worst stay ever! Check out is 11:00 I ran to the store came back and the cleaning ladies were in my room at 10:00am and one was looking in the drawer, my tooth brush and bags were still in the room so why were they in there? They have violated my 4th amendment and I will be filing a civil suit. I do not recommend! These cleaning ladies are thieves.
Even though it was late night with a limited menu, our waitress was friendly and the food was great! Also within walking distance from the TA which has parking for Big Trucks!
Drawings are obviously fixed and unless you're a dude with dollar bills you can't get a cocktail waitress to acknowledge you screaming " help me!" Other than that it's ok.
This place used to be the best place to stay in Reno or Sparks if you are working and out of town ***Not any more***
I say this with regret and experience.
Their prices are higher than the Nugget and GSR and the GSR is nicer (however I still like Western Village as I could park with my work trailer easily, near my room on the lake marina side). . . . . However, not anymore apparently.
The Hotel security manager came out with the normal security guard and confronted a few parking lot drug dealers and prostitutes as we happened to be at our truck getting our luggage and they decided to test their authority on us coincidentally.
He (Paul) told us we couldn't park in the two spaces with the pickup and small trailer, and instead had to move our vehicle to another location, behind a different building approximately a quarter mile away. (At risk of getting a citation?)
Yet there were semi tractors, and SUVs with boats, and dump trucks nearby committing the exact same "offense" of parking with a trailer in two spaces. Also, no fewer than 16 free, open spaces existed directly around me when this happened. WE just happened to be in the parking lot while he was out there and therefore were singled out.
It was a blatant misappropriation of whatever authority, and I did not move. (F#$# you Paul, and F#$% you Western Village)
Between the hotel stay, and dining at Pancho Willies, I spend around $500 a week at this place, and have spent thousands of dollars in the last 8 years. NOT ANY MORE
Also, I've been coming here for 8 years and never have I seen so many Sparks PD patrolling their parking as this week. So......Western Village, your hotel is turning into more of a hive of drug dealing and slum, and you react by blaming your loyal, law abiding, hard working customers. Great job!
Overall I have always enjoyed this establishment. Never had any major issues except the parking. Some times you can get a spot realitivly close to the building but more often then not you have to walk a bit.
This hotel is a fantastic bargain...I think of it as Peppermill Lite. Rooms are clean and comfy, and they come with a fridge and a keurig with decent coffee choices. The hotel is detached from the casino, which I like (more privacy!) but it can be a bit of a pain in poor weather. I've heard good things about the casino's steakhouse, but I can't tear myself away from the awesome Mexican cantina, with its shareable plates and $2 margaritas. Definitely a great deal, especially on weekdays. Stay here and avoid the $30 "resort fee" at other Reno casino hotels.
Panhandlers in the casino, bumming money from slot players! Security in la la land talking about their problems with each other and trying real hard to be important/look important! Their heads are up their t*ckus!!
It's not the same anymore with the whole mask thing going on might as well not bother and just go put my paycheck in the bank and save a few dollars and time
