It seemed like there wasn't enough workers on the floor to greet, serve drinks and sanitize machines. With it being such a busy casino alot of people in and out there should be more staff to sanitize, greet and serve drinks. The plastic guards between each machine is a good idea yes but those seats are kind of heavy to adjust with those plastic guards.

Clean, updated rooms, which are in a separate building from the casino (which I appreciate) and some truly great restaurants make this hotel one of the best bargains in Reno/Sparks.
I enjoyed it so much that I have another stay booked in a week. The Sparks location is nice and quiet, off the strip and near the Marina area. Lots of fast food on McCarran Blvd if you aren't in the mood for Mexican (Pancho and Willie's), pizza to go, the 24 hour Cafe (great comfort food), or an upscale dining experience at the steakhouse.

It looks like it trying to be a lower level Peppermill with its decor but there's current remodeling going on. The Hotel clerk whom checked me and my wife in is extremely helpful and cheerful.

Doors to the outside slam very loudly and can be heard halfway down the hall. Easy chair was uncomfortable. Large room, nicely furnished. Clean, but attempts to mask smoking odors are almost as bad as the smoke smell.

Had a great 2 night stay here. Plenty of parking, great food options in house, and the Mrs hit the slots for a bit as well.
Our room was very well kept and very spacious. We'll definitely stay again when we get out that way.

Nice

We don't gamble, but we loved the steakhouse. Amazing prime rib, filet mignon, French onion soup, etc. Everything we tasted was fantastic. We got a complimentary picture from the in-house photographer. An excellent experience.

Coolio casino with updated machine's and sportsbook area. Clean looking with brand new renovations still going on. It's a smaller but sweet looking peppermill. Very impressed when first walked in. The carpet felt new with good padding. First thing I notice besides the updated decor. You have my attention as a place to hang out. Kudos to the management. Also, most see huge TV screen in sports betting area. Service at bar was excellent.

There are many reasons why I gave this 4 stars; all of them are straight forward. For one, you can't beat the price; if your on a budget and don't want to stay at a "roach motel". Second, the rooms are clean, and the cleaning service starts early, [they knocked on our door at 9:30am]. Third, the staff is friendly, and effective; make sure to leave a note beside your tips, [in your room] and they will cater to most of your needs. Hence, I asked and got a huge supply of shampoo, [I use it as body wash & for my hair]. Fourth, its location is outside the main drag; but close enough with traffic to get there in 15 minutes. Thus, less crowded, and right next to a man made lake that has a 2 mile circular walkway. The view is delightful, and it's quite popular with the locals; I especially enjoyed the serenity as I walked, as the Casino felt like it was far away. Lastly, I will repeat myself and say; "for the price, it's worth every penny you've saved".

Extremely disappointed in Western Village. We are born and raised in this area, we always stay at the Western Village when we come back and visit family. We had a reservation for June 1st through the 7th and the Western Village CANCELLED it without notifying us. I get there's a lot going on right now, but when you don't even give us the courtesy of a phone call and inform us that our reservation has been cancelled that we made weeks ago, that's just bad business and lack of concern for your customers. We were supposed to check in tonight, and now we're scrambling to find a place to stay. I'm a mother here with my two small boys and you don't even process the refund immediately or assist with finding a new hotel. So disappointed in you Western Village. How do you expect me to shell out that much money for another hotel when you still haven't refunded my cancelled reservation? I have been on hold for 20+ minutes waiting for anyone to answer your phones. How are you going to fix this?

The location is extremely convenient as it's right off the freeway. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. The hotel is a bit old, the decor is dated and a bit odd, and one of our room keys was completely broken, but other than that it was great. We brought our two dogs along, and I highly recommend it for other people traveling with dogs.

Very nice, very clean room. Lots of food choices at good prices. Friendly staff. I'm a non-smoker and had to take a smoking room. I couldn't smell any smoke odors! They said I could switch to a non smoking room today but I kept this room. Will stay here again, would recommend to friends and family.

Rude staff at hotel check-in and unprofessional demeanor. We had called a week before our initial reservation date to confirm total price that would be charged at check-in, which was not the case when we checked in they charged additional deposit for the room. Deposits are required at most hotels this is nothing new...but tell people so they may plan accordingly when they call to confirm total price paid at check in. Also, the hotel is run down needs major updates. We will never stay at this hotel again. Rooms are way outdated and the non smoking rooms smell like smoke, the entire hotel smells like smoke and it is even separate from the main casino. Suggestion to management train your employees to know how to answer questions properly and treat people with respect. Anyone that I know who will be traveling and looking for a place to stay while in Reno, I will let them know to not stay at this hotel and share my experience.

I love the variety of machines, & the quantity! Western Village is a classic casino with every kind of slot machine you can think of, all squished together in that gaming environment that you could easily get lost in. From the old mechanical three-reel machines, to the newer enormous, high-tech slots with the curved screens.

I haven't stayed at their hotel, which is across the parking lot, but the food is good at the casino, & the cocktail waitresses are all very polite, quick, & pretty.

Have you ever lost $40, with a minimal bet, & literally not gotten a single win? Not here, in my experience. I've found the machines to be pretty generous, at least as generous as any other casino on one of those "good days". Won my first Royal Flush here!

Not too many hoodlums &/or homeless hang out there, considering the neighborhood. Not that there's anything wrong with that crowd, I just personally don't enjoy being around those vibes.

Unfortunately, Western Village is one of those casinos that will bug you about pulling your mask up over your nose (sorry, those of you who have asthma like me!), & replacing it between cigarette puffs/sips of your drink. I just nod at whoever is nagging me, they walk away, & generally don't bug me about it again.

The steakhouse is amazing the cafe is delicious and quite affordable and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. I like that it feels like a place for locals as well as for visitors so I had to give it five stars. I really dont have any complaints.

Walls are really thin so noise from halls is loud and clear. Casino goers are up at all hours of the night, too. Rooms themselves are nice and clean though, if laid out a bit weird. The double we were in had a bed nearly up against the entrance to the bathroom, leaving an awkward narrow corridor. There were three paintings in the room that, while really nice in and of themselves, were GIGANTIC and it felt a little claustrophobic with them taking up most of the walls.

The hotel is apparently pet-friendly, so expect to see lots of dogs around. We had an incident where someone in our hall left their dog alone in their room, and the dog was barking for an hour+ at 10pm. Security couldn't do anything until the owners were located, and it was just a frustrating ordeal. I don't blame security for not going into the room with the dog, since they could've been attacked. The owners were irresponsible though, and I don't think it would've been extreme to call animal control.

The dog was only an issue the first night though, and the rest of our stay was pretty pleasant. We didn't go into the casino area much (not here to gamble), so no comment on that.

Dined at the Steakhouse. Was very impressed with both the quality of the meal and the attentive staff! Definitely look forward to enjoying another amazing experience with them in the future!
