This location is great for me bc it's across the street from my school so I can just walk over there right after school plus the coffee shop is a great addition and they have very good computers some of them are even specificly reserved for school work and they have a very awesome selection of books on every topic imaginable

The flooring can be loud to walk on but other then that it is very quiet. It has a quality plethora of books. It is very open and light. Usually has everything I need but none the less requested books arrive quickly. A lot of people in previous reviews complain about the staff, but it depends on who you contact. I've had both kind staff and demeaning staff experiences. Pretty much my second home, I love it here.
Great quiet place to study, work, or just relax with a good novel. Speedy WiFi and plenty of computers. They hold fun free activities for all ages every week as well as running clubs such as chess! They have free movie showings in their theater every few days (easily found on their website). The Bean-a-colada Cafe inside has delicious food and drinks for great prices when you're feeling snack-ish while studying. There's an area for teens to play on computers and explore other stuff. The staff is wonderful and always happy to help. Overall a pleasant place to visit
My wife and I checkout all of our books, CDs and DVDs here. The people here are helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. They make going to the library a pleasant experience. Kudos to them.
They have a great children's section with lots of books and great discovery time. The librarian knows the kids' names and does a fun story and song program. We also live the toys and puzzles that are there to play with.
I enjoy this library, it's nice and clean and has some great activities for kids.
My main complaint is that I am constantly paying to replace 'damaged' books.
I return the books myself and rarely do I see the books in any condition other than the condition that were in when we checked them out.
Moreover if I am paying to replace a book then I think I should be able to see and keep the book, only fair right? I've asked them for this 3 times and every single time they cannot find the book that they are charging me to replace.
?? Do they just throw them away? Take them home? They go and look for the book but can never actually find it.
One time I was paying for a damaged book and the lady (who was very nice) had to go grab a binder and write up a whole thing with pen and paper and then enter it into a computer.
Why isn't it all computerized? Why are there binders of paper involved? Seems disorganized which is going to create frustration and maybe some lost items here and there.
The people there are friendly and helpful...but something is wrong with their ability to track book condition and books that I am purchasing.
I am boycotting Weber County Library. We had similiar problems in the past. They only allow popular books to be checked out for one week then you have to stay right on top of renewals or you are fined. Not to mention that this last time my son checked out four books. He only got to read one, in the one week allowed time so the other three sat on the shelf. I returned the and now have four dollars in fines from damaged books that sat on the shelf. I guess we must not have checked every SINGLE page for damage when checking out. I am going back to Davis County library. THEY are the best. Reading books without all the fines and headaches. Well worth the drive, better book selection, no fines with normal reading use, three week checkout periods, and up to one week grace period. GOODBYE Weber County library and all your fees. We would rather spend our money on gas to drive to the best library service. I guess we know how they get the money to built and renovate.
We bring our daughter there for the discovery time which has been great! But when we tried to check out some books and found there was an issue with our card we were helped by the younger gal who is trying to pull off the hipster look who has the old lady grey hair. It was all I could do to hold my tongue the way she spoke to my wife was horrible! Just very rude, bratty, and inconsiderate and all we were doing is trying to figure out how we could check out some books. From reading reviews it seems to be a theme that people are treated poorly here which is sad. Someone should do something about these employees who have some sort of inferiority complex and treat people so poorly!
The libraries offered very few children story time. It's "because the craft involves so much preperation...." checking out a book is always sketchy. They slam fines left and right for books that are "returned damaged", even though you are positive it didn't happen while in your possession. I am shocked at the amount of people that have had this experience
I like this library, it is clean and modern and I honestly haven't had any fine problems with books that I have checked out. I guess the only thing that bothers me is sometimes they have some graphic artwork as you walk in. I just feel its inappropriate for kids. Again this is occasionally and not all the time
An amazing library with a small coffee shop located inside. I'm not sure what the 1 star reviews are for, mostly petty issues from what I can see. The staff is always more than helpful, the selection is HUGE and if they don't have an item they will order for you. We have nothing but positive to say about the Pleasant Valley branch!
This branch has gone through the remodels and has a cafe area as well. Always quiet, tidy and pleasant staff. Love the electronic book drop off outside so you can check in returns after hours. If you have little ones they often do movies or story time that is always fun.
We love coming to the library every Tuesday to get a muffin and to play. Unfortunately I wont be purchasing anything from the coffee shop anymore. The barista that works there is so rude and unapproachable. She never says hi or thank you. She seems like she hates her job. I will continue to come to the library because everyone else is so nice but she basically ruins my experience every week. I try to be nice and tip her in Hope's she'll maybe try to smile, but she's always so mad looking. I hope they find someone who appreciates the ease of this job and smiles at their paying customers.
Great Library Very Clean , They have a Section for the kids & have a lot of toys ,Books,Computer it s just perfect how the adults and kids area s are Seprated :.. I highly Recommend this Library & Also Very Quite
I've been coming to the Pleasant Valley Library since the main library has been undergoing renovations. The staff here as in the main library are friendly and courteous. I am 73 and I love to watch DVDs. I can check out 10 at a time and I used the website to have them put on hold for me. Thank you so much all you guys and gals at the Weber County Library.
The staff was very helpful and the facilities are clean and quiet. I had a late fee and didn't know it, and they were very patient and helpful in getting it all resolved. The selection is decent, and when they don't have your book, they can get it pretty fast.
This is a great library. I like coming here to read, or use the computers. The kids have access to games book and computers for school. Just a great place all around
This is a GREAT library if you want to use computers, grab coffee, watch a movie, or play with toys. If you want to check out a book, BEWARE! You will absolutely be given fines claiming at least several of your books have been damaged. Or they will claim you never returned the book at all. If a book has a poster in the back, or sewing patterns, or something like it, the library removes these items before the book is circulated, and then claims the borrower "lost" the item. It's a pretty good racket they've got going. Apparently, you should be able to read a book without the book looking like it has ever been touched by human hands. You might as well order what you would like to read off Amazon, because Weber County will charge more per read.
Clean as usual. Wonderful librarians to help with anything you are looking for and how to use computer. Chose it over Ogden library anytime. Thank you :)
Horrible hours, I cannot afford a printer, i came to print off an essay that i had finished at 5:50 and they would not let me on a computer because they close at 6 on a friday which is ridiculous, extend your hours for students or i will stop coming here
This is a fantastic library. They have everything you can imagine plus some. You can reserve a computer, fax, scan make copies. They have a large variety of books, audio books, etc. There is even a small coffee cafe with sandwiches and treats.
This location of the library is great the new building is updated the conference rooms are fantastic and I love that they have electric vehicle charging.
Love this place. So cozy and has so much to do. Good food and great books. I go there at least once a week. Only 4 stars because staff can be really grumpy sometimes, understandably so. But still, lighten up, not everyone wants to haggle with you about overdue fees.
The library staff was helpful. The challenge was the "travel directions" need updating. UTA has discontinued bus service to this library. The bus stop on their front walkway is no longer serviced and the nearest bus stop is 1/2 mile away.
Wonderful, helpful people. Cafe with a movie playing, good food and coffee. Movie theater with movies right out of the theater. Can download books to MP3 players. At times will order books in for you, will also print lists of series for you. Private booths to take your own computer, a lot of computers for people to use. Children's area. Art galleries, yoga, exercise classes, so much more. A great, modern library. I would suggest this library to anyone. Five stars all the way. Also very clean!
I am frustrated with the set up at this location. I would have never even thought of this previously, but a few months ago I had a back injury which makes it difficult for me to walk. I am not understanding why the 9 stalls that are actually closest to the library itself are reserved for the Coffee Shop. Yes, I know all about ADA regulations and I am sure that the handicapped stalls that are located at the north end of the building meet the requirements; however, walking across the entire length of the building to be able to access the actual library is extremely inconvenient. Even though my injury is temporary and walking will not be difficult forever, I can't even imagine how a person with a permanent disability feels.
Great activities and book selection. It's really easy to request books from other libraries. Staff is helpful. My kids love to use the computers. I do think it's ridiculous that they're are so many "alternative energy" parking slots and they are ALWAYS empty. Also, the coffee shop/ cafe is just ehhhh.
