Peoria City Library Review

Good library but SO LOUD. Everyone inside is basically yelling, including the people who work there.

This library is fun - complete with expansive murals all throughout the children's section.

My 2 year-old looks forward to Toddler Time with Ms. Dawn and Ms. Kathy every week.

I like that you are allowed to use the computers for two hours, unlike the Phoenix libraries. I wish they would just keep adding time when there isn't anyone waiting, like the Maricopa libraries.
They librarian is always very helpful and friendly.

I liked the library, good amount of space and lots of outlets throughout. I just thought it was wild they show movies for kids on fridays, where you can hear the movie throughout the whole library. Also, showing movies in a library seems a bit contradicting too...

Do not bring food or drinks they are strict on that but other wise had a great experience.

Friendly staff and a nice library. I wish they would allow more computer hours for those with library cards but besides that, cant complain.

The staff was very friendly to our family. There s a good variety of children s books. Good space for the kids area. The toys look dirty though. We had a great visit.

I use to ride my bike here after school, its a very nice library its just hard to get on a computer sometimes.

5/30/20. All of the employees are lazy and should be fired, because they refused to do their job and help the customers. I asked them for help and they told me they can't, they had to man the desk. There was no other guest there but me. So i was refused service for the reason of laziness and the i cant excuse. So whats the point of the library being open and having empoyees when they don't want to give you customer service. If i was their boss they would have to take customer service classes, because non of them have it.

Great library, staff and selection of books movies music and magazines. I love going to this library it has plenty of room to study and is usually very quiet. If you need more isolation there are study rooms upstairs.

If the female librarians cared about the community and its patrons this library would be a wonderful place. Unfortunately, this location is too concerned with allotting thefty, ridiculous fines on top of fines for no other reason of because they can. They make poor people feel even worse than we already do by forcing us to have to ask to check out dvds which they've put behind their counter because they cannot trust us. First, it started with the "rap" cds. Next it was the new dvds. Sunrise Mountain does trust its patrons because they are located in an "affluent" area of Peoria. It's sad to have to leave this library when I was here every other day. I told my students to go there. I promoted you. Now I can only speak poorly of you as you already had a bad reputation. My best friend, my mom, my sister, and my girl scout troop leader have all had bad experiences with the librarians and their too good for us attitude. Goodbye, Peoria.

The reason why I like Peoria Library is because, if you need some finding a particular book that want to check out they will help you find the book you are looking for! As for the no food and drink rule, I understand why they don't want you to bring any food or drink in because it is not food court/ library, it is a library. Even the School libraries don't allow food or drinks in their buildings.

Horrible selection of Audiobooks. I know they have some online deal but I prefer the discs. Just glad Maricopa library has a better selection of audiobooks. Also tired of having to maneuver around homeless in the lobby entry.

This is a nice community library. Its small, but it had the book I was looking for. I usually use digital downloads but wanted to actually see this particular book in person. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Due to covid, like everything else that's half open, if your not going to have staff on hand to fill orders, then don't claim your open. the one person that was there seemed as if she didn't want to grab any movies for no one she says there's particular person for that. but there still open for 2 hours. So where is this person that's supposed to grab movies for people instead of leaving at 2 when you're open till 4

Wonderful public library, with great resources for adults and kids alike. We regularly check out books and movies, and my kids like the little dollhouse and play kitchen set up in the children s area.
I have also brought my kids here for story time during the week, and it s a great experience. The librarians sing songs, read stories, and every story time ends with coloring time for the kids. The Thursday story time is set up for younger toddlers, which is nice for parents of kids who maybe don t have the attention span of older children. Very interactive and educational time for the little ones.

My fave for 18 years and counting. Since I was a child...and of course my kiddos love it here like mama

A very nice place with helpful, friendly staff. As for the "wah, wah no food or drink allowed" thank you Peoria. I appreciate not having grimy, greasy handprints or spilled drinks on a table. Honestly people, where were you raised? its a library, not a community center.

It s pretty lame that there s no food in the library. Like, why? Is it because they don t clean up there? They could easily hire someone to clean because during events for children, eating in the library doesn t seem to be an issue.

Despite the Sunrise Mountain Library is closer to my home, I like this library too because it is well organised and maintained by very kind and helpful staff. They even have a separate kid play area and do storytime for different age groups from toddlers to kids. Although our kids are adults already, I can imagine that this is helpful if a mom or dad wants to search through certain topics, books etc without being interrupted by their kids for a short period of time.

Staff is always very helpful and the library is always clean and quiet.

Just tried to get a library card and they refused me one cause I wasn t carrying a copy of a current bill and my ID hasn t been updated yet. You got people sleeping on your lobby you probably have no ID on but you need proof of my residence to rent a book? I expect better from city funded establishments

I love this library, always quiet and the staff are friendly and are always ready to help. They have a great selection of young adult and manga which is what I mostly read

It is nice and clean and it's easy to find books. The staff is also really nice, once a had a book on hold and went to get it but I didn't have my card so the library used the.computer to show I checked it out.

Why soooo expensive just to fax 3 PAGES FOR 4.00, IN COVID TIMES GIVE US A BREAK!!!!
