Phnom Penh Internation Airport is one of the worst airport you can experince, not enough parking space, filthy restrooms, no smoking areas which and especially there is not enough waiting area. Please consider this as a big problem because this particular airport is an INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.

Rude and lazy staff. The lady at the tourist info in the evening time is a rude and thoughtless person. I don't know how did she got the job. A Japanese woman's young daughter is apparently stuck at the visa office, because the daughter doesn't have any USD with her to pay for the visa fee. So the mother tried to ask for help/information from the counter lady, but the county lady just said she is "busy"(youtube) in an angry face and told the mother to come back again tomorrow at 8am. I was like WTF? Is that how you welcome a tourist? Your staff just literally told a worried mother to go back home and come again tomorrow, while her kid is still stuck at the visa office? If the counter lady can't help about the visa issue, she should have at least tried to put some effort to contact an immigration office or a right person to handle the issue. The airport should implement a better training for your staff and should fire all unqualified staff.

A modern airport. Everything you need as a traveler is provided in this airport such as sim card, halal restaurant, non halal, information center, etc.
My suggestion is once you arrived find the exit gate and come to the tourist information. They also have a train to go to the center. It's free of charge, but I don't know when it will be charged.

International flights.

International flights.
Departure area. Although cheap duty-free shops are displayed in dollars, the currency exchange rate of each currency is about 10% worse than the actual rate.
500 ml of water costs 2 USD.
Starbucks prices are relatively decent.

The immigration officer who applied for the visa was really shameless. Obviously, the fee for landing the visa was 30 USD and the fee was 35 USD. The business visa was also extorted four years ago. The hardware has improved. ? The unsaved country

Small airport but clearing immigration is sure efficient. Checking in is slow. There are dining corner that houses many foods on ground floor before clearing immigration. After clearing immigration foods option is much lesser with burger king, brown coffee and taste of asia being the only few options for food. Relay bookshop and hard rock cafe merchandise shop can be found after duty free shops. Circle K is on the corner near arrival.

Spent about 7 hours at this airport waiting for an Emirates flight to Yangon and Dubai. The best advice I can give anyone is DO NOT arrive super early for your flight. If you need to kill time, do it anywhere but there. The check-in space is at a minimum so the airlines all share space. You will not have a check in counter assigned to your airline and flight until 3 hours before departure time. So, you will be stuck in the check in area until that time, and it is miserable. There's nothing in that area but a few places to eat (oddly, this includes a Crispy Creme. The only one I had seen in Cambodia) This area of the airport is very uncomfortable. I was traveling to Seattle by way of Dubai on Emirates and in Business Class for the entire trip. I foolishly thought that I could go to the airport after I had to checkout of my hotel at noon and utilize the business class lounge while waiting for my evening flight. It seems like a reasonable expectation when you're paying almost 5,000.00 US each way for a business class ticket. Emirates disagrees I guess. You must check-in at the counter to access the lounge and you can't do that until 3 hours prior to your flight. Once you're able to get past security this airport is not bad. The duty free area is like passing through a gauntlet. You can't avoid it because right after security you must walk through it's entire length to get to the gates. Do it out. There are some really good deals. There's also a pharmacy in the gate area. It actually sells Vicodin and Diazepam over the counter for about 20 bucks per 30 pack. Use responsibly and know that those drugs become illegal without a prescription the second u land in the USA and many other Countries. There's also a Dairy Queen in the gate area. I used the last of my Cambodian currency there. Maybe it was the Vicodin and Valume or maybe it was heat, but I've never enjoyed an ice cream cone so much.

The newly built extension of the airport that accommodates international departure is clean although still small. The restrooms are also good but need to be frequently checked and cleaned. Starbucks Coffee is now available on the first floor, international departures. The airport offers free WiFi.

Phnom Penh International Airport has a prayer room...

Phnom Penh International Airport has a prayer room, it is quite helpful, when you are a Muslim tourist, but the prayer room does not have a place for take a wudzhu or ablution. Staff are very friendly. the building is pretty good and already connected to the airport shuttle train. It is free ticket for a trial trip although the Train runs below 30 km per hour. Need an improvement to make Phnom Penh International Airport more better and friendly for International tourist. Thank you Cambodia

A good place to wait and relax until your flight leaves but....... sort your pest control out. I've seen more mosquitoes here than any other place in Cambodia. Shouldn't be that way in a controlled environment. Very poor.

Almsot all staff is unfriendly, slow and entitled. Especially immigration and boarding pass check seem downright hostile. Clean enough airport, easy to navigate but horrible traffic. All in all a bad representation for the country, they could learn a thing or two from REP airport.

This airport is run by a French-Malaysian company ...

This airport is run by a French-Malaysian company thru a 20-year lease. As a result, things will be expensive here, just like at Charles de Gaulle in Paris.

The immigration officers can be annoying and even rude sometimes. If you overstay your visa, watch out! If you speak the local language, they will ask you for money to help with their low salaries! One immigration officer tried to scare me telling me I needed a special visa. I told him I was a frequent traveller and that I never heard of such a thing. After I raised my voice, his superior told me everything was OK. One security staff even asked me for my wallet, after immigration. I told him I didn't have one. They were so desperate for money.

In terms of transportation, the taxi drivers will try to overcharge you because they claim they have to pay a fee to do business there.

There are a lot of fishy businesses going on at this airport. Just read the reviews. If things don't improve, tourists and visitors will avoid coming to Cambodia.

"A small international airport that is often found in the capitals of small and medium sized countries in Southeast Asia.
There are some caveats, such as not being able to stay at night and being able to check in only two hours in advance. Please note that when using Grab, the premises may not yet enter the premises. ''

A renovated and clean small airport.
I guess the clean and necessary things are almost complete and ordinary people are not very dissatisfied.
However, the cost of souvenirs and meals is high, so it would be better to go around the city.
What you need to do after arriving here is basically SIM exchange and transfer to the city.

As soon as you leave the arrival lobby, there are several counters, so you should use SIM depending on the situation. Green smart is recommended for data communication.
As I wrote above, be careful when calling in Grab.
There is a charge for admission, so if you happen to be out of the hall when you happen to be caught, you may not come inside. At that time it is troublesome to go outside.

Also, some people are irresponsibly moving on tuktuk, but if you have a lot of luggage it is naturally better to fit it, so it is better to make it a car.
Tuktuk is limited to two people in suitcases or backpacks each.

The general discipline at the security forces at the X-ray (after immigration) section was terrible. The female security personnel appears to be the person in charged the section was ranting on her personal things then interacted with her colleagues with high voice - so annoying. Most of her colleagues were paying attention to her personal drama and caused the while process rather slow. Most importantly, we don't want to hear her so personal matters being shared publicly and loudly like this.

It's finally time to leave Cambodia and everything goes well ^ _ ^
There are many robbery cases in Phnom Penh. You must be careful, especially on tuk-tuk, you can pull the curtain down twice.
Come out of the airport, first buy a sim card, then go out to take bus No. 3 to the urban area of 1500 KRW.
From the urban area to Phnom Penh International Airport, in order to get on the plane, you can call it Garb. There are four types of cars to choose from. I take a small tuk-tuk, 12400 Kd.
I wish you all a pleasant trip to Cambodia!
