Giving five stars because it was a "fun place" to stay. Some of the criticism that it is an old hotel is correct, but still has charm. Yes, the bar is too small, but really found places for six to sit, met a lot of nice people. Service was excellent and very friendly. Yes, the three hotel elevators are too small. Was told by a supervisor from Thanksgiving to New Years, they are jammed with people in the small lobby as well as taking the elevator is a venture. The rest of the year is has a different group of travelers and time schedules.
We used the fire stair going down from six floors (once) and Sue's daughter s family took the service elevator many times (they said it was fast). In the morning it was an adventure getting in, and hearing from those on the 20th floor the elevator stopped at each floor and we were lucky to get in as someone got off the floor above us. Everyone seemed to complain about it, but they laughed and we all squeezed in complained, but also seem to find it humorous and everyone got alone. Going up was never a problem. Going down, was an adventure and fun squeezing in and meeting people. When the morning rush was over, we actually kind of missed the extra company.

The front doorman was extremely helpful in directions, as the staff was always helpful, even working the elevator group when crowded. The concierge gave us good advice (take the subway to the World Trade Center and how to do it). Never saw so many Lyft and Uber SUV's and traffic was worse than San Francisco and Silicon Valley, where we are from (we thought we had it bad, but not like New York City!).

I liked the breakfast. Most in our group took buffet. I ordered the omelet, which was so large, I could not finish it, although delicious. A couple of times I brought coffee to our room and watched the news, before taking the adventure going down for breakfast.

Our room was interesting, but comfortable. Bed was warm at night with comforter. The one bathroom much too small and the shower was old school (but really very good and easy to operate, especially compared to some of the modern hotel showers). We didn't have any problems as everything was clean and housecleaners efficient and friendly. Most modern hotels have two sinks and are large. Having a private one where only one could use at a time had its benefits.
I don t know if this was an average room. It was quiet, unusual for traffic outside and we didn t hear our neighbors.
And the hotel location is perfect to get around. The history of the hotel and who has stayed there was told to us by a person who may have been an assistant manager. One of the tricks I have about learning about hotels is to ask how long the employee has worked there. I ask bellmen, desk personnel, doormen; people I can start up a conversation. When I hear how long, as I did at the Warwicke, and the stories of famous guests throughout the years, was impressed. They liked the place, meaning they also liked the people who stayed there. You have a happy employee, you have a happy guest!

Great value for your $$, the one bedroom suite is pretty large and budget friendly compared with most hotels in Manhattan. The location is also great, within 1-3 minutes you can get to subway, restaurants, Carnegie Hall, Central Park... really good for both family and business trips

Somewhat disapointing. The room was very nice and the automatic light controls were interesting but the elevators were impossible. They're very small. If you're on a lower floor they are full before they reach you and the wait between them is very long. It took us 12 minutes to get to the lobby. The lobby was small and not very welcoming. During check out time every seat was taken. It would be nice to have a coffee maker in the room or a coffee shop in the hotel even though there is a Starbucks on almost every corner. A little disappointing for a hotel with such a famous name.

Old but updated. Elevators are fast, great service and located close to everything. No refrigerator but WiFi is great in room.

So let's see, 3 stars is probably the best rating since the hotel is ok. Now some details: I booked directly with a hotel and was asked if for $20 per day I want a room with a view. I said yes. See the photo taken from a room. They call it a view. When we arrived the room we were first given was not cleaned. I mean it had garbage, dirty towels and water on the floor, etc. When we complained we got another similar room without much of apologies. Our room came with "free" breakfast. Apparently "free" in this case was $12 per person + taxes and tips that were automatically added it became $15. Overall the breakfast was nice, but $15 is not free... Elevators are small and couple of times we found ourselves in a line in lobby waiting for a free elevator while skipping 2-3 full elevators. Other than that the location is great and overall the stay was quite pleasant.

Disappointing. The location is excellent but the rooms need renovations. Due to construction noise we had to move twice (which cannot be blamed on the hotel) and saw 3 different rooms - all of them very very dated. Besides the rooms, the lobby and overall impression is below expectations - the hotel looks by far better on pictures than it does in reality. Adding on top - my room was booked on a corporate rate and also marked as such in their system but the price charged was the regular fee - apparently the corporate rate wasn t available any more. That can happen but wasn t communicated while booking or during check in. The overall impression just doesn t live up to the expectations and I am a very regular traveler and don t have unrealistic expectations. PS.: all 3 rooms have been very very dark and had a wonderful view onto a brick wall or extremely dirty inner yard PPS.: just checked the other reviews - the noise is apparently a feature and the small dated rooms a style

We stayed 4 nights in January, good rate, very comfortable. Some issues though: Would have liked to have coffee/hot water in room, hooks in bathroom, and small fridge without it being an extra charge. Instead they had clearly spent all their improvement funds on a high tech minibar that charges you as soon as you look closely at what s in the fridge. Can t beat the location though, especially if you want to go to MOMA or nearby attractions.

Probably one of the worst hotel I ve stayed. Rooms are outdated, dirty and the staff is tired and unwelcoming. Do yourself a favour and stay at the Hilton next door. Also, I can t wait to get an automated message from the hotel saying they are very sorry and wish to see me again. Spare yourself the trouble, won t be coming back

Good hotel Well located, full room although a bit small for 4, clean (which is exceptional in the US) I do not give the 5 stars for the price and have no attention in Spanish at the reception.

Dated, there's like one outlet in the whole room. beds not comfortable. otherwise clean and fine. the comment says there are outlets on the walls near the bed, but there aren't, which is something i found v inconvenient.

We have spent 7-10 days in Manhattan for the past 7 yrs. during Christmas holidays. 1st time at Warwick. One of the best experience we have had. Staff very informed and kind. Made you feel as if you were a guest in their home and happy you are there. Hotel restaurant/bar very much appreciated during busy time of year. Will stay there every year going forward.

My room (on 3rd floor) was a good size, surprisingly clean, and there were no problems at all. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Transportation was easy from here (short walk to at least 2 subway stations), Uber, Taxi and it was easy walking distance to Times Square, Rockefeller Plaza, Central Park, etc.

I would not hesitate to stay there again or to recommend it to a friend.

Staff are fabulous!! Every single person we spoke with was very friendly and professional. The room was really large and nice. It only gets three stars because there was a huge cockroach in our bathroom, and minor in comparison the remote was broken and there weren't any large towels, only hand towels.

Rooms were fine but desk team was quite clipped with us. We asked for an umbrella and the clerk literally, literally threw it at us across the desk, and not in a cool way. Took 45min to get a sowing kit to the room. We had food delivered and it arrived on the building loading dock (?) and staff acted like we were stupid for not know where to pick it up (down a mazelike service hallway). Also no bath robes?! Madness.

Was a bit of a disappointment to be honest. Even the lift for this hotel needs to be upgraded. One morning we had to wait 40minutes to get a lift. They have 3 but only 5 or so people fit in one. Definitely not sufficient for a hotel with so many rooms and floors. The hotel rooms also do not offer a small bar fridge for customers use. We just expected a bit more.

Excellent location. Nice classic NYC style hotel with a nice entrance (although stairs down to lobby are a bit annoying with luggage) old fashioned elevators and well appointed rooms which are large for NYC. Nice bright bathroom with marble walls and floor. Room 1202 smelt a bit damp but was clean and AC worked great. For the price I highly recommend.

Cozy hotel: warm and super convenient because it is close to the major centers of interest. In the bathroom the water is always warm and there is everything, even the balm! It's a little expensive, but in New York it's all expensive! Breakfast at the hotel is very expensive, so we decided to always do it outside ... We liked very much that of fresh and co ... Had nice time out with family for New year . Loved the asthetic and appealing aura of the place. Food was little bit spicy but all in all was very delicious! Drinks and mocktails were truly blessings. Had a very cheerfull crowd and helpful waiters.

Nice hotel, very convenient location. Walking distance to the theater district, Central Park, Radio City Music Hall, good restaurants, and the diamond district. They have three elevators, and they only hold about six people without luggage. The business center has two computers. Their web site is deceiving. It states that if you book on line, you get free breakfast. I booked on line, and when I asked about breakfast, they told me I booked the rack rate. The same thing happened to our friends who were also staying there. It was either a bait and switch, or a very deceptive web site. If it wasn't for the breakfast debacle, I would have rated them four stars.

Our stay was very comfortable, but several caveats for the tech savy (or spoiled traveller) or for the others that have Samsung. Alarm clock had no Samsung charger only Apple. No welcome water bottles AT ALL! Standard bed was comfortable but not that soft. You can't store your own supply of bottled water or what not as the mini-ref contains only what they sell, and a notice warns you. They don't inform you if they go into your room - we have a noisy door - would have been great if they called us up to inform us beforehand. But nada! Enjoyed their everyday buffet, enough choices that you can customize your breakfast, and coffee was good. Again - though, I asked for water, neither tap nor sparkling was given to me....

For as pricey as the Warwick is, I expected much better. The rooms aren't anything great. Mine had a stained carpet. No bottled water in the room -- which is standard even at a Holiday Inn nowadays. Very strict on reservations. Room service was always 10-15 minutes later than promised and there is no room service between 11am-5pm, which isn't very convenient.

Not to say that it's the worst hotel in the world, but for Manhattan I would expect much better. Will not be staying here again.

Old school charm and feel, but with all the modern amenities. The room was very nice, felt like being in an apartment. Very clean, very comfortable, you will feel like you're at home here!

We stayed at Warwick Hotel for our honeymoon for 4 nights. Our luggage was brought up to our room. Staff was extremely helpful regarding our stay. We were welcomed with a champagne bottle, nice greeting card and strawberry chocolate when we got to our room. It was perfect in many ways. Fast internet, clean bedroom and slightly outdated bathroom. Room was a bit cold at times, but it didnt bother me. I am rating this 4/5 stars only because of the overpricey breakfast. We ended up eating breakfast out the remaining 3 days. Other than that I would gladly return.
The hotel itself is in heart of NYC. You can literally walk to any of the major attractions by foot. Uber works like a charm!

Friendly staff, clean rooms that are larger than you'd expect for NYC. Elevator wait is very long at peak times but with only 3, no surprise so plan your day accordingly. Starbucks is one block south. Duane Reed is on the north end of the same block next to LOVE. Halal Guys is one block south. Central Park is a few blocks North. Basically lots of stuff is nearby so location is great. All of this is why we keep coming back here.
