Due to the usual events relating to covid-19 the house is not fully open. That said we were able to view the ground floor and the gardens which are extensive. The venue is well maintained and the parking was excellent. We choose to walk to the manor which took about 20 mins with a buggy. Within the grounds only take away food and drink were available all of which tasted good.

It makes a nice day out for all the family.

Great afternoon out and we were allowed into the ground floor of the house. Recent filming of a new Brad Pitt movie, 'Cinderella' on site.
Poor signage in the grounds left you guessing where to pick up the three Covid secure walks.

Visited Waddesdon Manor today (2nd time after aborting the 1st due to the ridiculously long walk to the house if you have a dog). Walked around the grounds and Christmas fair. The grounds were ok, and the fair was just like every other Christmas fair with the same goods (circa 6 stalls selling gins) as very other Christmas fair in the country.

As a National Trust member I find it disappointing that the cost if the food does not equate to the quality expected.

Lastly, I did not go into the house, for 2 reasons, firstly they were booked up to 4pm and I arrived at 11am and secondly the additional charge for entrance.

I left feeling disappointed in what I'd experienced and the National Trust.

IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNERS COMMENTS

I shall not be returning. I don't feel that the experience was good value for money. Equally, suggesting I return after receiving such poor standards clearly shows a lack of customer service or understanding. What you really want me to do is spend more money at a venue that doesn't care about the patron.

I will not be renewing my national trust membership at the beginning of next year.

Visited for the Halloween Trail and Spooky afternoon tea. We had a lovely walk around the grounds and used the free shuttle bus from the car park to the main house. A mix up over the tea was dealt with very sympathetically and so we'll be heading back for the Xmas Fair.

It was a very pleasant visit. They just opened the house last week. The house was one of the most luxurious manor house we have ever seen. Had a packed lunch in the garden where my son can run around.
We would definitely go back when the house is fully open .

Thousands of visitors today...yet the place is vast enough to absorb them. Plenty of food and drink places. The grounds are extensive and superb. There is a children's adventure play area suitable for 18 months upwards.

A fairy tale castle, in the heart of the English countryside. Stunning to see as you walk up from the car park .
The walk up to the major house is described as steep, but isn't too bad.
The inside of the house is rather 'dry', as are many old houses, the gardens are great.

Lovely place to visit and really enjoyed the walk upto the house from the visitors centre(there is a shuttle bus too). The house itself is a timed visit and you get your ticket from the visitors centre upon arrival. It was a great house and well worth a visit.

Staff are lovely and help you understand the history of the place. We've been many times and always find fascinating new information. Love the property and grounds. Well worth a visit over Christmas when they have festive decorations. Kids have fun with the treasure hunts within the house.

Because we had a late booking for our otherwise very enjoyable Afternoon Tea yesterday afternoon at 4.30pm, it meant that we arrived at the bus pick-up point just before 6pm and caught the second from last bus to take us back to the car park. Having just got off the bus at the drop-off point we were very concerned when at 6pm all the lighting in the car park was switched off leaving us in complete darkness before we had a chance to get to our cars. There were a number of elderly folk on our bus who were struggling to pick they way through the car park in the dark, trying to avoid tripping over the raised kerbing. Surely it would be safer and more intelligent to have allowed enough time for those who were on the last few buses to get into their vehicles before switching off. .

Waddeson is a terrific place to visit, my favourite National Trust stately home.

It was build for Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild as a county pad and somewhere to store his art collection.

The house is a a riot of art and is really worth visiting. It s closed for lockdown now, but when it open again, it s just incredible with lots in historic artefacts and an interesting museum.

The grounds are great - very large with many interesting walking and plenty of destinations. There are a couple of woodland playground (one for younger kids and one for older) which can hold attention for a long time. Also, there are lots of interesting corners like the tulip patch and Alice s woodland drive which are fun for strolling around

The aviary is a particular highlight, especially when it s quiet with fewer visitors. The birds are wonderful, including at least one species which is extinct in the wild.

There is a lot of parking, but it gets very busy. The car park is fair walk from the house, and outside of lockdown there is a shuttle bus if you don t want to walk (it s a nice stroll)

We went to the christmas market which is really good, we would recommend the stall selling toasty cheese sandwich, but I would recommend the melted cheese over saute potatoes with pancetta which is Gluten Free, they also had hot mulled orange juice (non alcoholic).

Fabulous looking building that takes you to the heart of France...and then you realise you're just outside London! Amazing grounds and fabulous outdoor play area for the children. The house itself is beautiful though we've only ever been in during Christmas time when the rooms are beautifully decorated.
Would definitely recommend especially if you have NT membership.

This is one of my favourite National Trust properties! We have been in the summer and also, more recently, for the Christmas fair and we had an excellent time at both visits.

The house is well worth a visit as the rooms are decorated beautifully (especially at Christmas with all the gorgeous trees) but the grounds are large enough to warrant a visit on their own.

The Christmas market was an excellent standard with interesting stalls and not too crowded even on a Saturday (probably as a result of the entrance fee).

The Christmas lights trail and projection on the stables' walls were both excellent and we left feeling very festive.

Nice place for a day out. Plenty of picnic areas for families.
A few restaurants and always busy
Sorry, I can't comment on inside the building as we went a bit late and missed the entry time despite payment for the full day. Still enjoyed the scenery outside
