Lovely National Trust grounds. Loads of walking and shop and cafe open too.
Lovely National Trust grounds. Loads of walking and shop and cafe open too.
Not very well laid out and too many people in at each tour. Some beautiful parts to the collection.
Great place for a family walk/outing. The hill to the house is quite steep but a great place to visit none the less. The house was closed when we visited but the grounds were very picturesque.
The main building has amazing architecture, however, it seems that they were in maintenance mode as all the statues were covered in what looks like body bags! The gardens need some tlc, and the food and drink choices are poor. Maybe it was the time of year. The photo is from a visit as Christmas
If you interested in historical Manor houses, then you are in for a treat. Very interesting historical value. I would highly recommend the fish and chips at the in House restaurant.
Amazing place to visit. Dont make my mistake wearing shorts in the winter here.
Stunning house and gardens, needs plenty of time to really take it all in.
Beautiful gardens, One of our favourite outings. Being able to pick up a picnic onsite adds to the experience.
Grounds and gardens still open. Cafe doing takeaway at the stable as well. Very nice.
Huge National Trust property that's well worth a visit. We went at Xmas to see the lights and they were great. Booking advised as it can become very busy.
Beautiful Waddesdon. Some of the house is open for a wander. Gorgeous gardens to walk around with a visit to the aviary a must. Tea and cake at The Stables and a wander around the exhibition. Love Waddesdon.
FANTASTIC...light show was brilliant..had a great time. Our first visit but will be regulars from now on..
This will be my first 5 star review as I can honestly say I could not fault anything during my recent visit here. The grounds are impressive and appear very well maintained, the house is stunning with a vast array of varied and interesting items to see (I would suggest allowing 2 hours at the very least to fully appreciate the collection). The food in the restaurant was some of the best that I have had in a long time and for a very reasonable price given the quality (not cheap but definitely good value).
We definitely plan on going back - probably on more than one occasion.
The house is lovely. The gardens are even better. Lots of statues, living sculptures, fountains and seasonal plantings as well. The Aviary is interesting with its variety of colorful captured birds. The house has lots of interesting paintings and furniture. The restraunt always smells lovely in the main house. The Stables also has a nice diner for a bite. Much of it is wheelchair accessible as well. I think they have a lift in the house as well.
Stunning...the lights in motion was great, as I have come to expect with the annual lights at Waddesdon Manor! The house is well kept and the staff jovial and engaged. Wow!!
Great place, refreshments from cafes etc were good but dont just go for the house as you underrestimate how small it will be you have to go round the grounds as well to ensure the emtrance fee is worth spending
We happened to go on Summer Fest Sunday and were blown away by the number of things to see and do. The Manor and its grounds were as spectacular as ever.
One of the finest National Trust properties in the UK. The grounds and the gardens are particularly fine. I have been many time and there is always something new to enjoy. In the stables area there is usually an exhibition of art or ceramics and there is also a restaurant that serves light refreshments of very high standard. The is also an upmarket restaurant near to the main house. There are facilities for the less mobile to get around as there some steep footpaths and gradients.
First time i see a successful vombination og dojbd and light. Reslly well done.
Great grounds and beautiful manor house. Little busy at times in the house, trees and decorations where amazing. Some great Christmas stools and lights.
What is not to love about this amazibg place vast grounds to walk around choice of places to get drinks from Fantasic play park great activities during holidays and fantastic staff. Can get really busy so if planning on visiting the house book in advance
A National Trust building well worth the visit. Lots to see inside and out. Also a children activity and play area available away from the house.
I'm not very impressed by that fact that the owners have unilaterally decided to close the cycle path through the estate, completely barring the public from getting into the town from the South. I had to turn back. No explanation given, no response from the intercom and no way of negotiating a way through. An appalling way to treat cyclists.
Beautiful grounds and house. Christmas market and lights well worth a visit.
Christmas market, lights, and atmosphere. Well organised and beautiful grounds. Winter lights and Stables were very special for all the family to enjoy
Quite a lot to see. Didn't know it had so many rooms, and soo much stuff.
Beautiful manor house and grounds, great for a day out.
- Food in the Manor Restaurant: We ordered a starter with salmon in it. It was good. Then, for a main course, we ordered 2 sea trouts and a braised beef. They brought us salmon and beef that was fatty. For dessert, we ordered 3 chocolate mousses and 2 coffees. We did not like the coffees and that was definetly not a chocolate mousse. I think it was chocolate cake with ice cream.
- Service and friendliness of the staff: Everyone was kind at the Manor Restaurant. We also liked that in their website they said that there would be mud. The busses came every 5 minutes and you didn't have to pay for them like they do in other places.
- Gardens: The gardens were wonderful and enormous. We didn't like the fact that the Christmas market was closed because we went there on Christmas.
Inside Manor- It was nice but the tour in there was short and we saw only some Christmas trees.
Unbelievable place and provides a great insight into what money can create
Sorry, have to change my review, i have just been to waddesdon manor for a Sunday afternoon stroll with my dog and noticed a lot of dogs off the lead, even through there are signs to say keep dogs on lead, when I mentioned this to one of the dog owners in question I got a mouth full of abuse, i did raise a complaint with the staff I won't return there don't need that on a Sunday afternoon
Great place especially as dogs are now allowed in most of the grounds
What a fabulous place!! Highly recommended for both the house and gardens.
A beautiful manor and stunning grounds. The occasional food festivals are also fun though having to pay grounds entry just to get to the food festival can be irritating.
Beautifully presented for Christmas, loads of stalls, brilliant light show on the house and nice illuminated /decorated walks. Plus the grounds and aviary. We'll organised apart from the stables(?) catering. No sign to empty seating area when main area crowded and cafe with too many issues to list... Still 5 stars for the overall day though. (Just 0 stars for that areas management, layout, organisation.)
Great house and free as a national trust member lol haha rekt the people who have to pay noobs
Lovely place, weather was great the day we went. Had a lovely picnic before enjoying the house. Will take more than one day to see it all.
National trust member, we will be back, membership very good value compared to single day entrance fee.
Lots of parking bus ride to the house, dont miss the last bus back...long walk.
I love this place. It's perfect for day out with family or friends. Beautiful views, interiors and gardens. Highly recommend to visit!
Beautiful building extremely well maintained and part of the National Trust group. Good to see how the other half lived, and perhaps still do! Beautifully well maintained lawns and Gardens as you would perhaps expect from a Rothschild More
Completely over the top amazing place. VERY expensive for food and drinks.
Incredible Christmas experience. Magical light display with a great variety of light displays on offer, with some to music and others for selfies. Extended trail this year including a longer trail displaying lights created by local schools. You need to allow more time to fit this in. Also has a large Christmas Market, offering a range of food and gifts.
Great for kids and adults alike, join the national trust.
Beautiful place, but although they welcome wheelchair users, not the easiest place to get around. Long bus trip that only takes two wheelchairs at a time, and only two wheelchairs allowed in the house at one time which meant a ling wait in the cold as we went at Christmas. Lots of shingle on the driveway not easy to push wheels. Still love it though.
always a great place to visit with amazing gardens, a fascinating turreted house and different things to see all year round.
The latest attractions are the ginger bread house and the Christmas Tree display was amazing!
If open, a visit to the wine cellars is fascinating and you can buy Rothchilds stones from the shop too.
Have to see in the lifetime once. Expensive ticket but well worth it.
Went for the Christmas lights, stalls were samey and a bit naff. Disappointing especially considering the cost
A fantastic place to spend with the family or just to just relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Great light show it was beautiful and the children loved it
Bit of a low level experience, rose garden expo was a waste of time
Absolutely rammed with Christmas shoppers. We will go back when it's a lot more quiet. Far too popular for its own good.
Brilliant place to visit, very different to other big houses I've been to. You get a lot of access to the house, wine cellars and gardens.
Stunningly beautiful house with a lot to see and do! Free entry for national trust members, worth every penny. Excellent shop (Rothschild Wine available). Can't wait to see it all decorated for Christmas!
Very good house. Not enough tables in the cafe for the number of people there.
Had an amazing time at the festival watching shows, eating food and running around. Thank you to the volunteers who were amazing. Perfect day out!
Another great NT property, very informative staff and enough for the kiddies to do. Yet again very poorly run cafe, arrived for a coffee and cake at 3pm, no cake no coffee and very few ice creams. Given the margin and the financial help this provides the trust I would have thought this would be a focus area, sadly this is rife through many NT properties.
Fantastic! The Christmas markets and light trail are well worth a visit. Thoroughly recommend.
What a fantastic experience, well worth a visit to see the oppulence of the gentry
Beautiful place to visit if not a little pricey. Nice place to come for tea and a stroll around the gardens. Plenty of parking on site and a shuttle service.
Best national Trust property I've ever been to! It's incredible.
Beautiful place however quite expensive. The history and setting counterbalance this though.
Stable restaurant disappointing, long wait for a table and the food was not good!
Afternoon tea very pleasant abit of waiting around for tea to be served.
Good Christmas Market, and shopping experience inside the house, need to book house well in advance for a good time slot. Parking and transfer bus service excellent ut enjoyed the walk to the house. Great coffee facilities.
have been twice over the last 30 years.those in charge need a wake up call..derrrrrr open the gardens at 10.. but house closed till 12...wake wakey >>>>>> its raining today .....you need to open the gardens and the house at the same time.. its not rocket science. boys..if its bad weather proceed to the house..we left without visiting, very poor service.. thank you. wont be calling again ever.from what i can see all you want to do is sell season tickets to the punters get as much money in your pockets..you need to go look at Blenheim palace, these boys are on the button..excellent service..even gave us free entry for free visits..yep no comparison to the national trust.. yes i no Blenheim is private ..and you can see the difference in the service to its visitors .have a nice day john bunning p.s. i had to give you people 1 star to make my review.. but class the star as a minus.. ***** yes 5
This is a fairy tale castle look a like magnificent mansion
Excellent heritage place , maintained by National Trust.
