Great place to go at Christmas. It's all lit up and there and food and gift stalls. There are buses which take you to the manor or you can walk up. It's really nice and a great family outing. Highly recommend.

Any NT property with gardens is a safe bet for a good walk through stunning landscaped gardens and wooded areas complete with areas for young ones to play in should you wish. And Waddesdon delivers. The house is one of my personal favourites too, so a good day out in my mind no matter how many times you may visit. A bus runs from Carpark to the house should walking be difficult.

The Christmas light display at Waddesdon Manor is spectacular. My photos don't really do it justice, but its well worth taking the time to visit, just make sure that you have on warm clothing and suitable footwear for a good walk. Organisation moving people from the car park by bus was good, if like us you were lazy enough to prefer not to walk all the way to the house.

Wow what a beautiful place. The outside looks like a French chateau. The gardens are beautiful and what a surprise to find the stunning bird house. The inside of the Manor is beautiful and has a lovely feel to it. I would love to visit at a different time of year to see the gardens in a different season.

First time visitor to the gardens at Waddesdon Manor and what a great experience. Well organised, good staff and no hassle. We did the 15 minute walk from the carpark, then all over the grounds. Plenty of refreshment places, and toilets. More

Picturesque architecture stunning antiques artefacts etc
Reccomend going out of season to beat crowds. Very well organised buses from car park to 4 areas of grounds. Great for picnics. Cant wait to return in the sun and blooming garden. House unique in comparison of other stately homes because of its clever security and lack of roped off areas. If there's ONE house you must see, its this one! Beats Blenheim, Longleat, Stansted, Stourhead. Not comparing grounds etc just houses!

Always a lovely day out. The Woodland Playground keeps the children occupied. Nice shops/cafe throughout. Check out the Stables as well. Grounds very well kept indeed. A bus will take you from the car park to the main manor/Stables via a circular route.

Very nice. Be prepared for the walk to the house. A bus service is running if you need it too.The grounds are beautiful. The house isn't open currently due to covid but the shop is. I was taken aback by the price of a can of 330ml Coke. I suggest taking a packed lunch.

I had wanted to visit Waddeston for year's and have finally got round to it. No where do I remember seeing the house tickets were SOLD out. I have never had to buy tickets in advance for heritage house! am very dissapointed. Especially after traveling 90 miles ish and three counties to get here.
The Christmas fare is one of the best we have been too but I still haven't seen inside:(

Amazing place! Will definitely go back as there was so much to look at. Beautiful grounds and a fascinating house. I particularly liked the round room with the Sleeping Beauty pictures in. Bring plenty of cash as the shops are excellent too.

Beautiful place, exceptional management and service. Very knowledgeable about the manor. Buses take you from the entrance to the manor so good for those with mobility difficulties. Nice food, plenty of places to sit as you encounter the manor and gardens. Very good day.

Impressive christmas lights and decorations throughout the chateau with a wonderful light display over the front of the house. Several places for food and drink including the wigwam and a playground for the kids.

The house itself was amazing but be aware that on a sunny weekend/bank holiday that this place gets absolutely rammed and service is glacial in the cafes and restaurants, also timed entry tickets mean you may not get access to the house for several hours after you get there if at all.

Re visit on 24/03/17 A pleasant day; lovely estate; good food; lovely staff in reception; the restaurant and coffee bar etc. Helpful volunteers. Spoilt slightly by the rather heavy handed way in which we where told to exit the house via the shop when clearly we could have simply gone out the way we came in if we so wished.
A polite suggestion with directions to the shop if the visitor is interested would I suggest be more appropriate. The rather obvious promotion of commercial interests is not what I expect at a property owned by the NT. Just a little tacky.

You will be hard pushed to find another place so impressive as Rothschild mansion beautifully restored with amazing treasures inside. The art work is in abundance, beautiful Gainsborough portraits will take your breath away. The furnishings are lavish and amazing too. The flower gardens are very pretty with lots of effort put into them. Impressive wine and souvenir shop before you leave. All in all incredible place to visit.

We recently spent a week visiting National Trust properties as part of a Covid-enforced staycation (we're NT members, so it was a cost-conscious break too!)

We visited on 16th September, the first day that the house re-opened to the public after the venue had been closed for filiming. It was our first visit since the bus service has been introduced and didn't mind paying the bus fare to avoid the long walk to the house - not great fun when you walk with a stick (him, not me).

The house is only partially open at present, and the first half of the one-way tour was through rooms which have been 'put to bed' for the winter. The second half, however, included some beautiful rooms - although my favourite was a small corner set for tea.

The gardens have also been somewhat neglected (understandably), and there wasn't the usual fantastic display of planting but still very enoyable (and the dahlias were gorgeous).
