Breath taking, most beautiful things inside the house atmosphere was brilliant.
Breath taking, most beautiful things inside the house atmosphere was brilliant.
Great place to visit with the kids, looking forward to seeing the inside of the house when it opens later in the season.
Beautiful christams market in gardens of manor. Really worth visit.
As much as I always enjoy visiting the traffic surrounding the facility this year is appalling and in fact dangerous. All entrances closed bar 1 with queues blocking the main A41 between Bicester and Aylesbury. Waddesdon need to sort access or use a park and ride service.
Very fun place! We weren't aware that only a small portion of the house would be open this time of the year but the light show made up for it.
Lovely little market in the entrance, worth taking a look
Really nice building! Need a sunny day to be there again!
Lovely house and gardens great kids play area. Amazing light show at Christmas.
Nice place will visit again when flowers are out & statues are uncovered & when house is open
At this time only the grounds are fully open. A beautiful experience with acres of well maintained grounds to explore. Make sure that you leave room for a very tasty National Trust saussage roll in The Stables.
Waddesden manor is breathtakingly beautiful inside and out with fabulous gardens , cannot recommend it highly enough, a must see
Amazing inside just one of the many Christmas trees. Amazing light show after dark, and crafts sheds up the main driveway. Brilliant.
Went for their amazing Christmas light show have gone for 5 years nowm Brilliant!!
Great place for everyone house and grounds for the adults and birds the grounds play area and more every school holiday or break there's something going on.
Excellent light display again, well organised and really beautiful.
Probably a great place but house visits poorly organised. It is pointless having timed visits if it is not made clear that one cannot a) join a tour or b) use the self guide audio, for the house for the later visit alots
Great experience in the house and the fabulous grounds, would thoroughly recommend to all ages
I love this house and gardens, lost count of how many times I've been here. This house is my ultimate favourite of National Trust houses After first visit read all about the family history of Baron de Rothschild. Great read if you love history.
Really loved it here with all the family for the winter Christmas special. Some of the sights there are well worth going to see.
We had an excellent time completing the Halloween activities - both our children particularly enjoyed the trail. Will definitely be returning next Halloween or for other similar events.
Great day out of the kids, including adventure park and local events (chilli festival). Great food.
A must see in the UK! The aviary, the gardens, and the grounds. As you spiral up the hill you feel like you're rewinding a clock... the neighboring countryside is well preserved. You arrive at the manor house feeling like you've entered a fairytale!
Fabulous grounds; good, inexpensive catering. If you want to go into the house, you MUST pre-book.
Lovely gardens to wander around, definitely take a picnic
This place is beautiful and extremely well maintained, the house is overwhelmingly amazing and everything is just so well thought out. It is all so family friendly and loads of places to get lovely food and drinks. Everything is very More
A huge chateau stately house run by the National Trust in extensive grounds. Stuffed full of treasures and important paintings. Was a 'Rothschild' family home.
Very nice good number of stalls and goods worth a visit
We never managed to get into the house because the restaurant kept us waiting over 40 minutes for our main course. This even though we had booked our table. Fortunately we had visited Waddesdon several times in the past. The house and grounds have always been one of our favourite places to visit when in Buckinghamshire. The Manor Restaurant is not a patch on what it used to be. No a la carte menu any more and that is why we have given only three stars. Manor Restaurant, you spoiled our visit when we were supposed to be celebrating our wedding anniversary.
A huge national Trust property. Strange restaurant.
Oh dear! Never imagined that asking for scones with tea could result in such an unpleasant experience...
Fortunately, the service manager saved the day.
We love visiting WM, but will avoid the restaurant in future.
Had a great day at Waddesdon today, lovely Christmas market. Shame about the cafe service in the stables. Completely run out of hot food on a cold day by 1pm!!!! Very slow service, young staff lacked training. Great place apart from that, bus shuttle well organised.
Lovely walks any time of the year, great wine cellar, farmers market is excellent especially at Christmas.
Another year at the Christmas market and once again delighted not only by the stalls, but the light instalments around the grounds were wonderful. A Christmas favourite, and great for families too. Would recommend the mulled wine too.
Beautiful house and gardens but the dog rules here are silly and it is very expensive.
Such a great place to spend a all day. Good price .
Love this place. It's a beautiful building with fantastic grounds and views. Lots of nooks and crannies for kids to explore with different hidden playgrounds for different ages. A very long tube slide is a winner for my two boys and the aviary absolutely fascinated my eldest aged nine. They now have a park and ride system too which means less clogging up the roads with cars. Wonderful day out for families.
Beautiful.
Looks like this was the mansion used in the 2001 bollywood movie Kabhi khushi khabi gham.
Always a lovely place to visit. Worth being a National Trust member for. They have many events throughout the year. Plenty of parking and if you don't want to walk then there are buses to the house and gardens.
Such a great place to visit. Lovely gardens and the house jammed full of interesting items. Make sure you book a timed entry to the house or you may be disappointed. This is a full day out so allow plenty of time.
The perfect day out! You can spend all morning strolling around the beautiful Manor House admiring all of the various display items which are fascinating. There was a jewellery display on the top floor which was incredible. The gardens itself are perfect. I highly recommend a visit.
Great place for a walk with a really interesting house.
Lovely place for a day out with family, old and young
Very ornate and opulently furnished house and beautiful formal garden. Excellent tour with use of audio guide.
Wonderful mansion. Excellent transport from parking to main areas - very frequent and we'll run. Superb food and beverages. Very welcoming.
Loved it here, the grounds are impeccable and the manor house is exquisite, it is hard to think that people actually lived like that once.
This place is definitely worth going to, but be warned the food is costly if you plan to eat there and I was rather disappointed at the amount of food I received for the price I paid.
Regardless of that, it was wonderful.
Great place to visit for the day. Lots to see but lots of walking to do. For the elderly there is a golf buggy to get around.
Exceptional National Trust house with tastefully added ameneties. Restaurant is top notch for the price. Loved how the modern car park, bus and ticket station is hidden from the main house. An exceptional convenience without compromiaing atmosphere.
Beautiful location and very impressive mansion.
Well worth a visit. We will go back when we can go in the house
Returned here for the Xmas market, after last years event, and again had a great day out. Food a bit on the expensive side but we have come to expect that now at all Xmas venues. However the food at this venue was of the gourmet variety so no complaints . The lighting show on the manor was excellent. Will be back next year for sure!
Amazing place, peaceful and relaxing. Gleat for rest amd picnic if the weather is nice
Lovely house and gardens. Visit in the Christmas period to see the Christmas displays inside the house.
Great day out like usual, but being Christmas takes it to a whole new level. Amazing market and awesome decorations. Definitely gets you feeling festive
Visited here for their Christmas market and light trail and they had done an excellent job considering the covid restrictions. Put us all into the Christmas spirit.
It's a very grand house with some really nice grounds to wander around at any time of year. They have a great xmas faire too with a big light show on theanor and loads of stalls selling crafts and local food and booze.
Only a couple of advisories; there's an aviary on the grounds, so it depends how you feel about things like that, and the walk from the car park to the manor is long and on really uneven woodchipped ground so if you're with a pram or wheelchair, get the shuttle bus.
Beautiful location and house, accessible gardens and walks. Access to the house and cellars (free with National Trust membership) and space for picnics in the gardens. Well managed parking and shuttles
It was great to see the lovely birds in the aviary as well as walking round the gardens and grounds. We took the bus from the car park as it is quite a walk to the house. The stables cafe was quite busy so we had to queue for a time. Two other coffee stands are available
When you arrive, park the car the queuing system works well. The ticket office staff helpful .
You can either walk to the house or take the shuttle bus.
The grounds are in excellent order ideal for picnics and letting the youngsters run around.
The house is full history and memories kept to a high standard. Again staff friendly and approachable.
The cafe was a welcoming site with spaces inside and outside.
Excellent play area and lovely grounds for a picnic
Beautifully grand manor. Making it on a sunny day was a bonus!
Good walk. Good restaurant. Great play area for kids
The place is beautiful but take a picnic as there is very little food and what there is is expensive. The website said that the woodland cafe was open it was not only the coffee kiosk
Was open.
Waddesdon Manor is a stunning and imposing French chateau. An absolute perfect Wedding setting-even in the winter months. Always a pleasure to work here. Additionally the staff are always incredibly helpful. Always beautifully decorated inside and out at Christmas. Looks fabulous in the resulting image's. Vanessa White (Emotive Photography)
Very well organised, very well kept grounds and buildings, but with set times for house entry and restaurants there was a lot of waiting outside and if the weather is not so good it can be a pain.
Fantastic place to visit with family and friends . There is a shuttle bus bringing you up to the manor , buggies can fit in as well. You can choose between visit the house and gardens or the gardens only.
Great decor for professional pictures .
Visited for the Christmas Lights display, we could easily count the individual lights in and around the gardens, because there were so few. A good number were not working, so areas were poorly lit, there were a very small number of individual birds which were all so similar we thought they were just repeated. We decided to have a Mulled Wine in the Teepee, a false fire was in the centre of this refreshment area which gave no heat at all, above the fire was a significant gap which any warmth escaped through. We decided that there were many open door ways to provide sufficient airflow.
A good dozen or more displays were made by a local school, (no cost) made up of wire and flimsy paper, soaked through so designs were severely compromised and broken.
The slides shown on the front of The Manor was terribly weak in colours and imagery so on the whole, disappointed and we paid full price with no disclosure of faulty and failing props.
Great place to visit. Lots of things to see. House was great to walk around. Staff were extremely polite and friendly all over the estate.
