As much as I always enjoy visiting the traffic surrounding the facility this year is appalling and in fact dangerous. All entrances closed bar 1 with queues blocking the main A41 between Bicester and Aylesbury. Waddesdon need to sort access or use a park and ride service.

Very fun place! We weren't aware that only a small portion of the house would be open this time of the year but the light show made up for it.
Lovely little market in the entrance, worth taking a look

At this time only the grounds are fully open. A beautiful experience with acres of well maintained grounds to explore. Make sure that you leave room for a very tasty National Trust saussage roll in The Stables.

Probably a great place but house visits poorly organised. It is pointless having timed visits if it is not made clear that one cannot a) join a tour or b) use the self guide audio, for the house for the later visit alots

I love this house and gardens, lost count of how many times I've been here. This house is my ultimate favourite of National Trust houses After first visit read all about the family history of Baron de Rothschild. Great read if you love history.

A must see in the UK! The aviary, the gardens, and the grounds. As you spiral up the hill you feel like you're rewinding a clock... the neighboring countryside is well preserved. You arrive at the manor house feeling like you've entered a fairytale!

We never managed to get into the house because the restaurant kept us waiting over 40 minutes for our main course. This even though we had booked our table. Fortunately we had visited Waddesdon several times in the past. The house and grounds have always been one of our favourite places to visit when in Buckinghamshire. The Manor Restaurant is not a patch on what it used to be. No a la carte menu any more and that is why we have given only three stars. Manor Restaurant, you spoiled our visit when we were supposed to be celebrating our wedding anniversary.

Oh dear! Never imagined that asking for scones with tea could result in such an unpleasant experience...

Fortunately, the service manager saved the day.

We love visiting WM, but will avoid the restaurant in future.

Had a great day at Waddesdon today, lovely Christmas market. Shame about the cafe service in the stables. Completely run out of hot food on a cold day by 1pm!!!! Very slow service, young staff lacked training. Great place apart from that, bus shuttle well organised.

Another year at the Christmas market and once again delighted not only by the stalls, but the light instalments around the grounds were wonderful. A Christmas favourite, and great for families too. Would recommend the mulled wine too.

Love this place. It's a beautiful building with fantastic grounds and views. Lots of nooks and crannies for kids to explore with different hidden playgrounds for different ages. A very long tube slide is a winner for my two boys and the aviary absolutely fascinated my eldest aged nine. They now have a park and ride system too which means less clogging up the roads with cars. Wonderful day out for families.

Always a lovely place to visit. Worth being a National Trust member for. They have many events throughout the year. Plenty of parking and if you don't want to walk then there are buses to the house and gardens.

Such a great place to visit. Lovely gardens and the house jammed full of interesting items. Make sure you book a timed entry to the house or you may be disappointed. This is a full day out so allow plenty of time.

The perfect day out! You can spend all morning strolling around the beautiful Manor House admiring all of the various display items which are fascinating. There was a jewellery display on the top floor which was incredible. The gardens itself are perfect. I highly recommend a visit.

Loved it here, the grounds are impeccable and the manor house is exquisite, it is hard to think that people actually lived like that once.
This place is definitely worth going to, but be warned the food is costly if you plan to eat there and I was rather disappointed at the amount of food I received for the price I paid.
Regardless of that, it was wonderful.

Exceptional National Trust house with tastefully added ameneties. Restaurant is top notch for the price. Loved how the modern car park, bus and ticket station is hidden from the main house. An exceptional convenience without compromiaing atmosphere.

Returned here for the Xmas market, after last years event, and again had a great day out. Food a bit on the expensive side but we have come to expect that now at all Xmas venues. However the food at this venue was of the gourmet variety so no complaints . The lighting show on the manor was excellent. Will be back next year for sure!

It's a very grand house with some really nice grounds to wander around at any time of year. They have a great xmas faire too with a big light show on theanor and loads of stalls selling crafts and local food and booze.
Only a couple of advisories; there's an aviary on the grounds, so it depends how you feel about things like that, and the walk from the car park to the manor is long and on really uneven woodchipped ground so if you're with a pram or wheelchair, get the shuttle bus.

It was great to see the lovely birds in the aviary as well as walking round the gardens and grounds. We took the bus from the car park as it is quite a walk to the house. The stables cafe was quite busy so we had to queue for a time. Two other coffee stands are available

When you arrive, park the car the queuing system works well. The ticket office staff helpful .
You can either walk to the house or take the shuttle bus.
The grounds are in excellent order ideal for picnics and letting the youngsters run around.
The house is full history and memories kept to a high standard. Again staff friendly and approachable.
The cafe was a welcoming site with spaces inside and outside.

Waddesdon Manor is a stunning and imposing French chateau. An absolute perfect Wedding setting-even in the winter months. Always a pleasure to work here. Additionally the staff are always incredibly helpful. Always beautifully decorated inside and out at Christmas. Looks fabulous in the resulting image's. Vanessa White (Emotive Photography)

Visited for the Christmas Lights display, we could...

Visited for the Christmas Lights display, we could easily count the individual lights in and around the gardens, because there were so few. A good number were not working, so areas were poorly lit, there were a very small number of individual birds which were all so similar we thought they were just repeated. We decided to have a Mulled Wine in the Teepee, a false fire was in the centre of this refreshment area which gave no heat at all, above the fire was a significant gap which any warmth escaped through. We decided that there were many open door ways to provide sufficient airflow.
A good dozen or more displays were made by a local school, (no cost) made up of wire and flimsy paper, soaked through so designs were severely compromised and broken.
The slides shown on the front of The Manor was terribly weak in colours and imagery so on the whole, disappointed and we paid full price with no disclosure of faulty and failing props.
