Class design inspirations, very good special exhibition.
Great showcase of avant-garde architecture and construction ... but you have to keep in mind that the avant-garde architecture of many years ago may seem like a cartoon.
In this museum, everything is beautiful, from the architecture of the buildings to the works and exhibits. A must see when you are in Basel!
Very cute nice design museum with very creative, diverse ideas and design
It looks like art and inside there is more art. Again and again they come up with something new, they can touch art (usually it is art to sit), but you can also paint, make things, play with. Is not a simple museum like some others and you get in for free (unless you want to do a tour that costs what but it lasts) only to be recommended, even for kids
Interesting show room/gallery /museum. Has a very nice restaurant, where you "test" one style of the chairs that are sold there as well. Can be visited with children as they have an area where they can play.
For design fans certainly a must. But also visitors, who had to do with the topics design and interior design so far only marginally (like me) come in the Vitra at their expense. There is something to discover More
You could compare the furniture with that from IKEA, only that you pay 600 for a plastic chair. If someone likes the IKEA things and has too much money, then first of all to vitra Design Museum
Great for new inspiration, however, is more in furniture design / interior design than in product design.
Absolutely interesting exhibitions, the whole complex is a must if you are on the way to Basel.
A museum with chairs had to think about it. Otherwise there is an ikea in Pratteln
Amazing collection of furniture from the 20th century and a very impressive campus designed by renowned architects from across the world.
Amazing place for Architecture students. Each space is so defined and experiential.
Super exhibition about surrealism, dense, versatile, informative, great exhibits.
Building so beautiful and very cool even though it is a kind of showroom.
Very nice atmosphere, for architecture fans really interesting. Otherwise, just nice for a trip
Great Museeum, always worth a visit. Very informative and aesthetic, but a little small.
The museum is definitely worth it! Just the mood there with all the buildings is awesome. Be sure to visit a tour. Knowing that and the stories come out so much better. The visit is also worthwhile with young people.
The shop is well sorted and has everything you would expect.
JOLI..building.super decor.agreable.a visit spend a moment of relaxation.a discover novelties ... good visit ...
Unfortunately I am not so enthusiastic about the Vitra furniture. However, if you like this style, you should definitely visit this museum. In the showroom you can also find very, very old furniture sorted by decades.
The vitra design museum is an interesting and multifaceted place for design and sociology. There we find temporary exhibitions, the EAMES estate and a comprehensive exhibition of seating.
The design of the Vitra house is beautiful and contemporary at the same time and it is a great experience to have a look at all of the Vitra home collections. The whole Vitra Design Museum is designed to be viewed at a architectural perspective and it is a wonderful place to visit if you are an architecture + design fan.
A great museum for people looking for something special in their home furnishings. Certainly not for the small budget, but worth seeing in any case. Very nice staff and a stunning architecture.
Great campus where you can experience the products, furniture and various designs of VITRA. In addition, the museum offers a fine restaurant with a variety of delicious food and drinks. Parking is free at the entrance possible. Highlight with children is certainly the slide tower, which was closed during our visit. A guided tour of the museum should be great.
A special company logo
Normal chairs to the luxury
Very professional staff and
disposal
More showroom than museum but very successful with a great cafe.
Always worth a visit. Excellent coffee and cakes at accompanying restaurant.
Magnificent buildings (with a preference for the main building, gigantic showroom, and its shop). You can easily spend hours there!
A great experience! A must for every designer and architect!
Each building was designed by a famous architect. Retrospective of the history of chair design since 1900. Showroom of current design
I love this unusual place! Beautiful building, an exhibition to find the inspiration for home or for his office, a nice coffee. A place where you go regularly to find inspiration and / or have a good time.
Wonderful and well organized place, perfect to spend a day full of design. Vitra is always at the top!
I love the architecture and not only the great exhibits
The best design museum ever !! If you like design furniture, you have to go there !!
You have to have a look at this place with its different designs and exclusive exhibits
A must for living and furniture Affine! Likewise architecture freaks.
Always worth a visit - a "must" for everyone interested in design and architecture...
It was the best place to travel to Europe. The way to get there is to take a tram from Basel station and get off the bus somewhere, but I do not remember well ^^; If you do not know how to get there, ask those around you. It is kindly informed.
I heard that different architects were built for each building. You can also see buildings with distinctive, unconventional appearance, and you can see several furniture and chronologies. It was a rare experience to go here.
I am there often. It's something new every time. Great place to get inspiration.
An absolute must for every design lover. I visited the museum a few weeks ago when Eames was on display and was able to take the Eames Lounge Chair in my dream armchair.
Very large exhibition spread over several buildings. You can easily spend the whole day there and get a lot of impressions.
In the building designed by the architects Herzog & de Meuron, is an exhibition of chairs dating back to the 18th century with only originals.
Similarly, the shop is worth a visit and you will definitely find something.
The most under-rated Museum i've been to. Definitely a place to visit.
Spent a whole day here and didn't get enough! I loved both architectural tours I payed for, just excellent! Beautiful place where Germany, France and Switzerland come together. Recommended for architects, designers, people of art and actually everyone, because it's just fantastic!
Wonderful place to see good architecture. It is highly recommended to take a tour around the vitra campus with a guide.
Nice but to expensive to buy anything + why would I pay to see a depot...
great atmosphere and unbelievably beautiful archtitecture.
It is also a must to reach out to someone who is not a fan of design and architecture
Superb museum bringing together the creations of the greatest furniture designers. The scenography is magnificent, the exteriors are punctuated by the fabulous architectures of Gehry and sculptures from Oldenburg will delight all lovers of contemporary art. I highly recommend
very very impressive place if you are fascinated in interior design. don't forget to ride the giant slide.
Amazing place, you take in the eyes so it's beautiful and original.
The architecture is incredible
MAGNIFICENT
Top-organized, very nice, very interesting - good but expensive
Design & Chairs. Take necessary small change with you!
Tolle Architektur, viel Input, auch in den anderem locations. Must see
Stunning this architecture. Be sure to take a tour of the factory premises. Incredible how many well-known architects have immortalized themselves here with a building. The exhibition in the main building is free. You can take suggestions and try the chairs and loungers. All around succeeded. Also, the cafe invites you to take a break.
