An exceptional place for all lovers of culture and beautiful objects.
Very nice and modern exposition: furniture and architecture
Hat wenig zum selber machen aber ein altes supernintendo
It's definitely worth a visit.
My colleague and I stop here after visiting Switzerland. It is interesting to see and browse through the small shop. Here you can sit perfectly and eat and drink something. There are various dishes offered, small and large, as well as home-made cakes. The prices are completely ok.
Always worth a visit! Affordable with the museum pass.
I hate to give such a cool place 2 stars but for what we paid and got for it I can't go higher. The place is cool and we loved seeing the furniture. If you are going to pay for anything do that. The museum was a waste. A total waste. I guess it depends on the exhibit but it's not worth it to me and I go to tons of museums. The best part was the Vitra center which is free and worth the trip. The build is very cool and really fun. The store is very expensive but there are some cute small things you can buy. If all we did was see the chairs and the free center I would give it a 4. But 11 euros to see chairs in a garage is still a bit of a rip off.
A modernist paradise; a place where you can sit under the trees in any one of a dozen or more different iconic design classic chairs with a drink from a kiosk housed in a streamliner caravan, while admiring surrounding buildings by Frank Gehry and Zaha Hadid, among others. Be prepared to spend all day, there's a lot to see, and a lot of chairs to sit in! The giant slide offers panoramic views across Basel, the vineyards of the Rhine valley and the Black Forest, as well as fun for all ages.
Always worth a visit, mega-architecture and exciting exhibitions
Make sure that the distance between me and surrealism is more than 10,000 light years!
Must visit if you love design and are around.
Also check out the Vitra Haus.
Ikea did not invent anything .... A place of discovery. Accessible.
Very attractive design space. Not to be missed is the Museum shop with design items for the home, the children's office, at very attractive prices.
It is close to the Swiss city of Basel and using the tram takes about 20 minutes and another 10 walking.
Suitable place to take children and with good accessibility for people with reduced mobility.
It includes a space for eating for a quick meal.
Anyone who is interested in design is absolutely right here.
The place pictured is Bitra House. Bitra Design Museum is a red brick minimalist style building that was formerly the building of Frank Gehry and now designed by Alvaroshi.
one of the most surreal experiences that i ever had a designer ! the whole place is full of history, art, design and everything every design legend every left this world. it is a must see for every designer. make sure to opt for a tour by the museum to check out the fire station by zaha hadid and the acoustic hall and everything else there. dont forget to buy post card and souvenirs from the gift shop there. it is all mini items designed by legendary designers.
Amazing place for lovers of design and architecture, its specialty, the manufacture of furniture and lamps by renowned designers ....!
For design and furniture interested a must, if you are in the area. Really nice museum
Beautiful architecture and designs. Very suitable to spend a rainy day.
The buildings are impressive, the plants are bombastic,
Classic stocks to spend months on ... Thank you for this day
Such a great museum! Such a beautiful area. Definitely go!
Very interesting, there is a lot to see. ! Bring time!
Can recommended a visit to vitra purely for inspiration
True choice of furniture design. Fantastic pieces and creations.
It is always worth a visit if you are interested in design
A feast for the eyes of people who enjoy good architecture and good design.
Unique in Europe. Not only 10,000 parts in stock, to visit, the entire plant a sensation.
The selection of designer furniture is extreme. Not only because of the amount, but also how the furniture is presented. The advice is also unsurpassed. My personal highlight is the production facility of the Lounge Chair. The great shop and the cafe and free parking complete the package. The only criticism are the high prices. For this you get the highest quality, durable products with timeless design. Absolutely visit.
Really big and incredibly interesting design museum.
Wonderful design as you would expect from Vitra, well worth visiting.
A celebration of the names and shapes that form the modern furniture vocabulary, along with works by contemporary architects. Loved the outdoor seating area populated with a huge area of designs. Lots of static and pop up exhibitions and available exhibit and factory tours.
Very beautiful museum with many timeless designs. Extremely inspiring
Beautiful furniture, beautiful designs, cozy spaces. I want to come back!
Not bad. But makes you interested in furniture and real estate design.
I can recommend the museum to anyone interested in design and architecture. In theory, you can spend the whole day there
Really cool place but the paid visit is too expensive ... to see three rooms with a few models, 49 euros for a family of 5 ... allow 20 minutes to visit at most!
Fascinating museum with fabulous exhibits, I wanted to take everything home! Which in fact you can as many of the lovely pieces of furniture are available to order while you are there. Highly recommended!
Very interesting site from different points of view, architecture and varied forms allow for unique angles of view. Very beautiful photos result.
Even without a fixed and paid visit to an exhibition, a visit on a free walk across the grounds is worthwhile.
The buildings really trigger something even if you are not totally design affing.
If you are traveling in the Basel area, it is definitely worthwhile.
Large, free parking lot is available.
Cool place to hang out. The food was delicious, gift shop has unique things to purchase at reasonable prices, and my children loved the slide.
Always nice to come back and enjoy a savoury healthy lunch.
Buildings worth seeing ... Art and design united in space and time
The name museum, which often reminds of something old, seems out of place here. In the extraordinary building, visitors can expect smart and timeless furniture and interior design ideas. In the museum shop small works of art can be bought. The parking in front of the house is big and free. In the associated cafe there were small buffs.
An excellent day out for anyone with even a passing interest in home design. This is to Rome what Ikea is to the local parish church
Incredibly interesting and very spacious terrain. All imaginable design classics can be admired here. Entrance price absolutely justified!
Interesting furnishing house with fresh ideas for living
Wonderful facility, very interesting exhibition, very well curated. Restaurant, general staff very well !!
Fantastic Architecture and Awesome Furniture Design... A place to visit when you are interested in one or both of the mentioned
If you like design or architecture, you have to visit.
