Interesting designer exhibition of chairs and furniture. We often saw and sat on some chairs without knowing that they were designer pieces of furniture.
There is also a paid exhibition which we will visit soon.

The incredible place for the architects. There are a number of famous Architectural constructions by world famous architects. The chair designs by Eames is fantastic. You can explore and sit at the display center. Carry an umbrella if it's too sunny. And a water bottle. There are washrooms and restaurants available. There is a souvenir shop adjacent to the reception area. There is a guided tour option which is very helpful.

Flag ship store and museum in one. For anyone who enjoys MCM furniture as well a trip down history lane, this is a place to visit.
The flag ship store truly something to enjoy - seeing pieces one may have, ones that one aspires and ones that are new. The lounge chair manufactoring room was awesome to see.
Oh and don't forget the slide - for adults or kids. It's like a water park slide except you go down on a carpet.

The Vitra Design Museum is already a classic, it has existed for so long. During this time it also developed, grew and the campus was added. The museum is a magnet for everyone who cares about design. You are always attracted to it, with constant fascination.

Great place to chill during rainy day if you finished party and you are restless with your homies. So many chairs and couches you can sit on, wooow. I would like to rate each one of them one day. Only that stuff and people around sometimes gives strange looks, but who am I to judge them. That place has a great atmosphere. Not so much sphere but still good. Btw, you can hide in a giant teapot.

The campus is great to visit for young and old. It gives a crazy desire to redo its decoration and it is a must for lovers of design! The icing on the cake was that the family had the giant slide outside! The kids had too much fun and so did we;)

Vitra Design Museum is a must see venue for any design related person. I teach furniture making at Warwickshire College, England and therefore I am biased in this review. I studied furniture design and craftsmanship at university and this should have been a field trip venue whilst we were studying.
We paid for the architecture tour which was very a very informative 2 hour tour of the campus, with great snippets of information you would not necessarily gain walking round on your own and access to some parts of the site otherwise of limits. Nichole, our guide spoke perfect English and the tour flew by, my advice if it's sunny, is borrow a Vitra umbrella, that sun does bear down and we were grateful of some shade.
The architecture was not the main event for us, we enjoyed looking at buildings by prominent architects but as a furniture maker, the chairs were what we were here to see. There were displays of furniture in Zara Hadid's fire station and the Vitra haus and Eames leather chair assembly was great to see, but the Schaupot (chair museum) 'blew my mind'.
All my design history lessons kicked in, amazing chairs after amazing chairs are displayed in racks three high and grouped in decades. Wow, wow and wow.
Downstairs there is more to see , with a cabinet of drawers to open with materials and inspiration insights and Eames's office setup as it was in California. There are also windows that allow a glimpse of the vast archive of furniture and lighting which unfortunately are not accessible to tour on a general visit.
An amazing 6 hour trip for us!

Anyone interested in furniture design and architecture should visit the Vitra Campus. The buildings were designed by famous architects (Zaha Hadid, Frank Gehry, Duke + De Meuron). Beautiful outdoor areas where you can test different Vitra chairs. Good and friendly gastronomy.
