My Maltese was a patient here for 6 years. In all ...

My Maltese was a patient here for 6 years. In all of that time, we were never told that she had a heart murmur. Presumably that's because they missed it.......for 6 years they missed it. I took her in on Friday, June 14th for her annual vaccinations. Dr. Flanders didn't listen to her heart or lungs, only came in with her shots. He then asked me if there was anything going on with her. I told him that she was drinking a lot of water and peeing a lot as a result. I had mentioned this to him the last time she had been in and his response was if she was peeing a lot to not give her water during the night.....so basically I was blown off. So I said something about it on Friday. He said if I wanted he could check her urine and I said absolutely because I want to know what's going on. He came back and told me she had a bladder infection so he gave her an antibiotic injection and I got additional meds to give her starting in Saturday. I gave her the prescribed meds as directed on Saturday. Sunday morning at 5:15 am she was showing very labored breathing and had a choking spit up episode. We kept an eye on her and she wasn't getting any better. Our first thought was that it might be a reaction to her meds. My husband ended up taking her to an emergency vet by 8:30 am. By the time he got her there her tongue was purple due to the lack of oxygen. The emergency vet (NOT VIP), rushed her to the back and intubated her and started oxygen. They immediately detected the heart murmur that we were never told about in the 6 years she saw Dr. Flanders. She was having heart failure that morning and had fluid in her lungs. They couldn't get her oxygen any higher than 88% and the normal is 95-100%. Because of how bad the heart failure was by that point, my husband chose to have her euthanized instead of allowing her to continue in that state with a poor quality of life. My biggest regret is that her heart and lungs weren't even checked as part of her annual shots appointment and that Dr. Flanders wasn't able to detect a heart murmur in 6 years of treating her. I feel that if we had known that then that awareness would have played into her treatment and care and her life wouldn't have ended at 8 years old. The emergency vet told us that they felt that the stress of going to the vet on Friday as well as the bladder infection was just so stressful for her that her heart couldn't take it. But again, to have her at VIP for 6 years and them not seeing that and being more thorough in their exams and care is why I'm angry. I feel that this was a preventable situation. I've pulled the records for my other dog and 3 cats and am now going to All Star Veterinary Clinic in Westfield. (And they are wonderful)My surviving dog had a wellness exam today because I wanted to make sure that nothing was missed in his health situation also. They may be more expensive than VIP but my dog's life and well being is worth the extra cost. If you choose to take your pets to VIP just make sure you insist on a thorough examination at each annual appointment. A minimum of listening to the heart and lungs should be expected. Perhaps you'll have better success with your pet's health than I did....if you're willing to take that chance.

What I visited was Tractor Supply, NOT the VIP Animal Care. Previous experience with that facility located in a back corner of Tractor Supply building was with a previous canine we no longer have. The veterinarian spent 7 or 8 minutes total time with my dog and myself, the bill was over $75 for a "treatment" that solved nothing. Experience has shown that most "veterinarian" venues use the emotional attachment for the pets to leverage maximum revenue. A ten minute minor operation can cost thousands of dollars. Just as in human medical industry practices, for humans and any pets, TREATMENTS rather than cures are the "Golden Fleece" of the nationwide business practice. A CURE provides a one-time financial profit, but months or years or even decades of "band-aid TREATMENTS" that cure nothing but lessen detrimental effects are the ruling philosophy. As a result, cancer will NEVER be cured, virtually all terminal illnesses will never be cured, but TREATMENTS that cost everything a family has will be pre-eminent and the rule of the land.

Due to COVID-19, they are only accepting curbside service. Both employees that came to my car were respectful. And it took less than 30 minutes to complete the service. Great price. I will definitely be returning to this location for all veterinarian needs.

We appreciate Dr. Flanders so much! He takes time out of his day to go above and beyond helping our herd. He listens to me and provides knowledgable answers and information. He understands people don't have unlimited amounts of money for their animals and educates and gives us the resources for at-home herd care. Being only one of two, that I know of, livestock vets in the noblesville area, I love that he is easy to schedule with and get ahold of. The biggest thing I have noticed with other vets in the past is a sense of judgement that has always left me feeling awful, Dr. Flanders DOES NOT give me judgey vibes and understands things pop up as part of farm life and that is the biggest reason he is my main choice.
I gave the rating of 4 stars only because I would love to see the office accept CareCredit. Though his rates are very reasonable, I sometimes have to go with a vet that takes CareCredit because of finances at the time. But we will continue to see him whenever possible!

There are not enough stars. I came to Dr Flanders 12 years ago. He has seen all 8 of my cats over the years. With only 4 left, he has helped me through some tough times, with professionalism and care. Never does more than what your pet needs. His staff is so friendly and cares so much. I consider myself lucky to have him as my vet.

Honestly, I was really disappointed about my trip to VIP Animal Care. I just adopted my 6 month old puppy (Shih Tzu-Yorkie, 4lbs) and he was there for his last round of puppy shots. Dr. Flanders was not patient at all with Charlie. Charlie was scared and cried when he got the shots and Dr. Flanders' response was "Have you ever owned small dogs before? Good luck - they are difficult". He did nothing to comfort Charlie and I told him I was about to start crying! Charlie was just another number and we will not be going back. Dr. Flanders didn't remember seeing Charlie in the past (the previous owners took him there), so he didn't take the time to look at his past records of what they had done in March (1 month ago) and he kept calling Charlie a "she". Take the time to know who your patients are before working on them. I understand you see so many pets throughout your day, but that is why you keep records of your patients.

I cannot say enough about this clinic. The doctor and staff are absolutely incredible. My Lab George was hit by a car and they got him right in. They took such incredible care of him and now a week later George is already able to walk up and down stairs with his splint on and gets around very well on flat surfaces. I will never go to a different Veterinarian again. This team is the absolute best around.

Took my dog in because he wasn t walking very well and hurt. I give the vet full permission to do xrays and blood work. Says my dog had pneumonia and gave antibiotics and charged me 350$. A month later on antibiotics and other meds and my dog is still struggling to get around. I go to another vet for X-rays and find out he has a torn tendon. Thanks for wasting my time and money.

I have been taking my dog here for a while now, but when I called Dr Flanders was out of town (probably taking a much needed vacation) so I had to take him somewhere else for the time being. The other vet couldn't seem to fix his problem (analysis glands) I went back twice and they ended up wanting to do surgery! I didn't have a very good feeling about so I took him back to VIP and Dr Flanders said surgery was not necessary ( which I had suspected ) he expressed them, gave him a shot of cortisone, and did laser therapy! All for a lot less than the other. My dog is feeling much better, I will never go anywhere else.

Dr. Flanders is the best vet for our array of animals. He handled care of our dogs (including one with cancer and two that are aggressive), cat, and if we had an emergency with our flock of chickens he could handle that. I recommend him to all my friends and family. He is professional, knowledgeable, and my animals LOVE him. My dogs have never been comfortable at the vet until we found Dr. Flanders. His support staff is helpful as well.

Absolutely worst clinic ever! The vet had NO bedside manner, was extremely unsympathetic that we were putting down part of our family, and even exclaimed, "Welp, that's done!" before he was out the door completely... all in front of the children. The office was disgusting, just filthy, and the scented candles we were forced to inhale, overpowering. The staff we came in contact with were not in tune with their job nor could they answer simple questions. They were demeaning and the vet accusatory as if we don't have a choice where we take our loved ones for care. NEVER AGAIN!

My dog was very ill and I was worried because he had never been ill in11+ years. The staff was super friendly when I walked in. They cared about my situation. The Vet, Jerry Flanders, examined my dog and had X-rays and some blood work done and then showed me the results. They treated him and they gave me instructions on how to care for him. He is coming along better now but he still has a way to go in the battle with pneumonia.

Even though our poor dog was terrified (we adopted her, and I guess her experience was not so great). The VIP Clinic was super nice, very quick (took us maybe ten minutes) to get all the shots and updates she needed. I would recommend this place to other for their politeness and quick service.

I am trying to get the word out to as many people ...

I am trying to get the word out to as many people as possible, so that no one else has to go through a similar experience should you choose to use this vet.
3 weeks ago, we had to make the extremely difficult decision to euthanize our 15 year old beloved jack russell, whose organs suddenly began failing and was in misery. 3 different office staff, including Dr Flanders himself said we would receive a ceramic paw print as a memento of our dog via mail. One of the administrative staff also went into detail with how it would be painted and decorated for us.We were sure to clearly express that we wanted this paw print so there was no confusion on our wishes. However, after waiting 3 weeks and not receiving the print, my husband called the vet to see when to expect arrival. He was told that no paw print was ever taken and that our dog had been cremated and ashes sent to Ft. Wayne....oh, but they were "very sorry."
This is an act of gross negligence on account of the staff at VIP. There is no way to rectify this situation, and we are simply at a loss of having the ONE piece of memory of our beloved dog. PLEASE, make sure you double, triple check with the staff if you ever decide to take an animal here. The staff is highly unorganized and have a lack of empathy for those going through the grieving process. It honestly makes me wonder what they really did with my dog's body, and I regret ever stepping foot into this office.

Dr. Flanders and his staff are great people. A couple years ago we had to put down our beloved. She had stomach cancer of some kind. We treaded her symptoms for months and gave her the best quality of life we could. Dr. Flanders made himself available on several occasions when she needed I've fluids suddenly. He was very realistic about prognosis and affordable. He doesn't sugar coat anything and isn't interested in gouging you. His bedside manner may not be what some people expect but if you want but he gets the job done and isn't heartless.

I can not say enough good things about Dr. Flanders and his staff. I saw several vets for my rescue Pom Maxwell, who is an insulin dependent diabetic with epilepsy. I knew I found the right one after meeting with Dr. Flanders. He took time to not only listen to what Maxwell was experiencing but explained in detail treatment modalities. Since being under his care, Maxwell has maintained normal glucose levels and has gone from daily seizures to none in 8 months.
My oldest Pom Peaches who was 15 had been battling agressive cancer. The entire staff was warm, courteous and totally understanding through her battle. When it was Peaches time to go, they immediately got us in on one of their busiest days and helped us say goodbye with great compassion.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with...

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a vet. The vet was rude and impatient. I have a very nervous cat and she did NOTHING to help soothe her. Unless, you consider aggressively covering her with a towel soothing. I tried to hold my cat, Theta, as she gave her shots. The vet tech then aggressively grabbed the back of my cats neck, not exactly soothing. My cat then peed on my lap out of fear. I mentioned this and the vet rudely said, "there is nothing I can do about that." Which, I am aware of and only said that to make YOU aware that you man-handling my cat is NOT soothing her. My cat then ran to the corner of the room, when I tried to pick her up, she was so scared that she bit me. Again, I am okay with her biting me, as long as it's not a member of the staff. The vet then rudely told me that I needed to go get first aid immediately, which is fine. What I did NOT appreciate was hearing your staff shoving her into her kennel, I walked away hysterically crying because I could hear the screams of my cat. I will NEVER be returning to your clinic. My cat and I are still traumatized about this. I can never get her screams out of my head. She has barely moved from the bed since I got her home. I am so upset and will encourage everyone I know and love to NEVER bring their fur babies to your clinic. The only bright spot was your employee, Ashley, taking the time to console me. She seemed to be the only person to show any sort of compassion.

Dr. Flanders has cared for a couple of my dogs, for about a total of 15 years. Knowing that no one s perfect, I take my pets in with no health expectations, other than their annual shots and...since animal can t speak words directly, I take notice of my dogs behavior when Dr. Flanders enters the room, and my dogs are generally happy to see him. Now, as for the staff of girls up front, greeting, there s only one that seems a little unfriendly. As for the appointment time and schedule, it can be a bit long, however, someone could be experiencing a hard time with their pet and additional care might be needed, and that s understandable. Who knows that could be me and my fur kids one day and I hope someone shows me and the Doctor a little consideration.

I d give zero stars if I could. I d honestly rather light myself on fire than EVER take an animal to Dr. Flanders again. I had an emergency situation and this was the only vet I could get into, but if I had known I d be met with the most heartless, unsympathetic and cold staff and Vet, I would have found a different route to take. I ve even discussed the way my situation was handled with other vets who have been totally disgusted, but not surprised, with what happened. Save yourself the time and hassle and go somewhere else.

We have been taking our dogs, cats and bunny to VIP for years now...I'd say since probably 2005-ish. What I tell everyone when recommending Dr. Flanders and his staff (which I do often) is that you don't have to be afraid to take your pet here. The Doc is very realistic, and doesn't try to push hundreds of dollars worth of tests on you, or make you feel guilty about what course of action you choose. I think this is very important, because I know the anxiety of how much it may cost can sometimes postpone getting a pet to the vet. Additionally, the staff has always been very accommodating, and have been very kind-hearted when we have lost a pet.

My dog would have died if we hadn't gone elsewhere...

My dog would have died if we hadn't gone elsewhere. Do not trust the lives of your pets with Dr. Flanders. Maybe for day-to-day checkups he would be fine, but the low prices aren't worth it when it comes to real health issues.

My dog hadn't eaten and wasn't taking water, and after a day of this, we took him to Dr. Flanders. They did give my dog a quick shot for the dehydration, but after one ultrasound, Flanders declared that my dog had a large tumor in his abdomen and that this was causing the problem. No real encouragement to continue treatment. Nor did he bother calling to check up on my dog the day after this news. (It was DAYS later that someone from Dr. Flanders' office took a minute to call and check on my dog. For all they knew, my dog could have died of dehydration during that time!)

Luckily, that night, as my husband and I were trying to nurse our dog through the night and make him more comfortable, we went to our emergency vet down the street to try and get him on an IV. Imagine my surprise when they offered actual treatment and did NOT act as if our dog was one paw in the ground.

And the kicker? My dog did have some fatty tumors, but the reason he wasn't eating or drinking was because he had eaten pillow stuffing. PILLOW STUFFING, for God's sake. They removed it without surgery, and now my dog is as healthy as ever.

If this case had been left in Dr. Flanders' extremely dismissive and incapable hands, my perfectly healthy dog would now be dead. If you're going to Dr. Flanders, be sure to get a second opinion on things. Or just don't go at all and spend your money on a veterinarian who isn't as quick to write off pets as one would put down a sick farm animal.

Dr.Flanders and his team are wonderful! So happy to have a wonderful place like this for my furry family members. Dr.Flanders was there for my family when we had to say goodbye to our precious dog several years ago. He gave us as much time as we needed to say goodbye and we will always be thankful for his kindness and love during that very difficult time. He now cares for our new dog (and cat). We always look forward to seeing our "Vet Family" because we know they will take great care of us and our pets! Thanks, VIP, for many years of great service
