I am trying to get the word out to as many people as possible, so that no one else has to go through a similar experience should you choose to use this vet.
3 weeks ago, we had to make the extremely difficult decision to euthanize our 15 year old beloved jack russell, whose organs suddenly began failing and was in misery. 3 different office staff, including Dr Flanders himself said we would receive a ceramic paw print as a memento of our dog via mail. One of the administrative staff also went into detail with how it would be painted and decorated for us.We were sure to clearly express that we wanted this paw print so there was no confusion on our wishes. However, after waiting 3 weeks and not receiving the print, my husband called the vet to see when to expect arrival. He was told that no paw print was ever taken and that our dog had been cremated and ashes sent to Ft. Wayne....oh, but they were "very sorry."
This is an act of gross negligence on account of the staff at VIP. There is no way to rectify this situation, and we are simply at a loss of having the ONE piece of memory of our beloved dog. PLEASE, make sure you double, triple check with the staff if you ever decide to take an animal here. The staff is highly unorganized and have a lack of empathy for those going through the grieving process. It honestly makes me wonder what they really did with my dog's body, and I regret ever stepping foot into this office.
