Nice place with a lot of potential, but unfortunately we came in when winter activities ended and spring activities did not start yet. The resort was empty and the employees did not show any kind of consideration for us, although we paid full price, a lot of them were inattentive or gave us looks. Our main dining room waiter was fresh with us and on the last day completely refused to serve us for no reason at all. We were always very nice with everyone there. So, we are left with very uneasy feelings. I assume things are better in the summer but given our recent experience I don't think we'll be back

Unfortunately, this resort appears to decline. The Starbucks section is gone. It is incorporated in the ice cream section. Gelato is no longer served at the ice cream area. The cafe no longer has a salad bar. Full meals such as Chicken Marsala are no longer served. On the positive side, the service is excellent, friendly and very familiar with the etiquette of dining. The staff goes out of their way to alter the dishes if you have food allergies. For instance, on one occasion I was able to have lasagna without the tomato sauce. The gift and clothing shops are fun. The pools are plentiful: 3 outside pools. With casual and outdoor dining. An outdoor poolside full service bar is available.

We were here for a family reunion. We had booked a one bedroom efficiency unit which had supposedly been "updated." Well I'm not sure when that update happened but by the looks of it probably at least 10 years ago. A lot of the rooms are a huge hike from the lobby (including two elevators for where we were) which can be difficult with two young children. Half of our party did not have hot water for the weekend for which they were told there is a boiler issue. Well maybe considering it's a hotel that should be looked into. The food in the dining room was subpar at best. Most dishes had very little taste, lettuce was wilted, and some totally inedible. The waitstaff seemed very hurried and while they were wonderful to my children, they could get somewhat rude to others. The woman in the ice cream/coffee shop seemed annoyed someone in our group wanted to buy a cup of coffee. The icing on the cake was the last full day we had there. More than half of the activities in our package were closed on Sunday. Maybe that should have been communicated when we booked the weekend and paid for those amenities. Most guests had checked out so the place was like a ghost town. Dinner that night was insulting and seemed like they just didn't care about the few tables that were actually there that night. The "caesar salad" was shredded iceberg lettuce thrown in a bowl with some croutons. The artichoke dip that was supposed to come with Italian style flatbread came with two saltine crackers. Oh and my Boston creme cake was just pound cake with literally no creme between the layers (I pulled each layer off to see cause I couldn't believe it). There was one bellhop that day and you had to wait for him to get your luggage since supposedly guests aren't allowed to use the carts. After complaining and some runaround by the staff, some guests in our party were offered a nominal discount on their stay for the lack of hot water and amenities. It gets one star cause my kids had fun. Bottom line, spend your money elsewhere.

This place is awful. There's nothing to do unless your 7. All the outdoor activities end at 5. There is 4 choices of food in the dining room. The arcade room has about 12 machines. The gamers world has about 3 consoles with old games. I'm going to recommend this place to someone I dont like.

Lost a star because: Staff should be better informed of what is going on. Breakfast took about 1.5 hrs; change of procedures in kitchen seem to cause lack of service. Activities personnel didnt know other event scheduling , procedures and details. Paid for all inclusive but info about activities was not clear and not well posted. Not all staff adhered to cleaning equipment like go carts between patrons. Weekly specials not well advertised or posted. All this did not take away from family fun but was disappointing and seem to be easy fixes.

This hotel should be condemned. People from NYC are coming here not knowing what they are getting into. STAY AWAY. Rooms are 50 years old and beyond filthy, food is disgusting, but if you like ping pong and shuffleboard, this is the place for you. Kids game room give you tickets for prizes, but the prize window is not open until Tuesday. (we were there for the weekend) Kid s nightclub was closed, so kids had nothing to do at night. If you stay here, check the sheets and pillowcases. Management does not stand by what they promise. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else, you will have a much better time.

Stayed at this resort through Diamond international (time share) for our 2018 family vacation. It was a diaster from the second we checked in. The staff was rude while checking in, we get inside our room see 2 roach bugs, internet is out, plus the TV doesn't work. We decide to check out the resort and see there are rooms in the main building. We are in one of the condo units. We go to the check in site and tell them all the problems, they said the internet was being worked on, and they would send someone to check on the TV, didn't say anything about the bugs. We asked of we could be moved to the main building and we were told they didn't have any availability there. There is not very many people we figured they were full of it but just said ok and moved on. We had drove about 7 hours and was ready to get settled in and relax. They did send someone to fix the TV but they couldn't fix it and said they would get someone to fix the next morning (Monday). By Tuesday, still no internet, we we're fed up and went to the main building and asked to be moved in there, they told us they wasn't full, which the people at checkout said they were, but they didn't have rooms with kitchens which ours had. I told them that was fine, move us, we didn't need a kitchen. Then they made up other excuses why they couldn't move us. Long story short, the internet never did work, we were supposed stay a full week (7 days), we left after 4 days. By far the worst resort we have ever stayed at.

I couldn t even wait to write this review. So I am currently posting this while I am still at Villa Roma. My family and I have been coming here for 25+ years. This year was an absolute shock for me. Initially coming into Villa Roma our room had old twizzlers on the floor of my timeshare. Next I go to use cups that had crusted food on them. LETTING that go, we head down to the pool our second day. It s people running, throwing their things on chairs. I get everyone wants a good spot by the pool but these people put their stuff down and didn t come back to the pool until 11:00 am ish. After leaving the chairs unoccupied for two and a half hours +. I know every year the chairs are an issue so I try to stay positive about all of this. So during the week I then attend the night show, where the comedian even makes a comment about the rip in the curtain. He even states how annoying the rip is. The last thing that pushed me to write this review is that this morning when heading to the pool a women fell infront of my face running to a chair. I think they need a better system this is completely out of hand. I gave Villa Roma 3 stars although I wished I could give them more. I gave them three stars because they are letting things go. They are not keeping up with things in the night club like the curtain for the shows, that has a rip and stains all over it. The chairs in the night club had chairs that had sticky stuff all over them. Further, our maid did not do a good job cleaning at all. Also there are many good things about Villa Roma like this week they had many good stars offer in the nightclub. Further I like they have a lot of things to offer to do throughout the day they have many people come to do ceramics and painting. But there s just somethings you expect when you go on vacation especially when your timeshare holder. I hope when I visit next year, there is better maintence & changes made.

The lobby is pretty nice but the hotel, sports complex and other facilities are pretty old. The ball courts in sports complex have poor ventilation, as a result, breathing gets harder as more people get in.

I have been going to Villa Roma since I was 2. I am now 12. I LOVE it there. Its a fun family friendly place, although with some flaws, the activities and the serenity make up for it. The cooking isnt the best BUT if you buy a Timeshare you can cook for yourself. Villa Roma is a place where you need to go with more than at least 10 ppl. I go with all my cousins. Its sort of like a family reunion. I have had a great time over the years. If you dont like it then you are oblivously not Italian or your too judgemental. Lighten up.

This place is extremely outdated. Being from the coast of Florida I am familiar with 80s style Beach condos etc. This is worse than that as it is in disrepair and outdated.
It was filthy when we got there. So dirty I had to lay a hand towel in the bottom of the bathtub to shower and that just because it was so late when we arrived and I was exhausted and just want to sleep.
I did the standard bed bug check and it was all clear and the beds looked to be one of the few things that were new. The next day we were informed that the maid who.was responsible for that building was no longer employed. Don't know if that was true or not but it was cleaned again. Right down to the bedding.
We had three units the week we were there. All three needed the same cleaning. If it weren't for having three we would not have had what we needed to cook dinner. Mismatched cooking items brought from all of the rooms to one made it possible to make a simple spaghetti dinner.
The absolute worse this game were the carpets. Super thin and sticky, buckled in many places coming g away.from the wall. Would not walk on them without shoes or slippers I could discard after. The other problem was that you could not use the balcony/decks for the smokers that stood under your windows smoking the entire time. Couldn't even have the windows open.
Would never recommend to anyone nor return.
There is no amount of apology or excuses that could be made for this experience.
If the beds had been as bad as the rest of the place we would have had no choice but to leave and stay in different hotels.
As it was there was 16 of us so we just made the best of it that we could.

I know that me and my family can be a handful and I hope we didn't cause you too much stress. Thank you for being so helpful through the big day, setting up, and rehearsal dinner!

Don't waste one second of your time or any of your hard earned money on this dump. I don't understand how people say they love it here. I think it's absolutely disgusting I think it's absolutely disgusting.. rooms are filthy and they smell. For what I paid I could've went to Aruba and I'm not even exaggerating. My room look like a disgusting seaside skeezy motel room. Lock did not work was trapped in the room for the first night for three hours before they upgraded me to what they called the Capri . Which wasn't much better. Then I go to take a shower and the nozzle sprays all over the bathroom and floods it. When I booked the room I purchased the meal plan I was never told that you had to get the drink package. I even called three days prior to arriving for my vacation. And asked if there was anything else that I needed to buy to make sure that I had everything. I was told that I had the meal plan and there was nothing else I needed and everything looks good. So when I started getting charged for drinks like sodas and juice I was a little aggravated. But what got me more angry was when I was told I could not purchase the package at that time that it needed to be purchased prior to arriving for my vacation. And there are no safes in any of the rooms so you have to make sure you carry everything around with you and not leave it in the room . I can't believe the amount of money I spent to come here it's absolutely ridiculous my friend said she spent the last to go to Beaches Turks and cacos which I have been to and that place is absolutely amazing and worth every dime not like villa Roma. I do not recommend coming here for any reason don't even drive-by. The people are very nice they did try to make it better for me but they could've gave me some money off which they did not . there are a lot of activities for the kids to do that much I will say. but that being said does not make up for the rest of this crapy place.

Good Afternoon & Happy New Year, I am writing to y...

Good Afternoon & Happy New Year, I am writing to you with my personal experience from this past December 23rd stay. Originally we called as we were leaving Woodloch Pines and wanted to extend our vacation at Villa Roma from December 23rd to December 26th. However, due to our experience we checked out in less than 24 hrs and would of left sooner if it was up to me. First the good news: The Staff all throughout the property is extremely nice and courteous!! That was nice to see We called for the reservation and reached the front desk where the woman was sweet on the phone and asked if we wanted the first floor as we have three little ones and a stroller. Then she mentioned that she would give us a renovated room as well when we check in. We were paying for the meal plan and a room. When we checked in the room assigned to us was Rm106 which technically starts on the first floor until you walk down 5 stairs to enter the room. Which, with a stroller is definitely inconvenient. Then within the first 1/2 hour in the room I walking through the bathroom that has glass broken all over the floor. Couldn t figure out what the glass was from, but we all didn t have our shoes on once we entered the room. This should of been addressed by house keeping when they cleaned the room! However, the Maintenance people came very quickly and apologized for the inconvenience. The hallways seemed always freezing as there was no heat in the hotel. We walked through the hotel to see where everything was located and entered the game room with the arcade where half of the games had signs out of order! Then around dinner time we headed in the elevator where there is not a lack of noise as if it will break to get to the ballroom where there is no holiday festive spirit whatsoever and ordered our dinner. The food presentation is horrible and matched the taste as well. The simplest thing of a Ceasar Salad, was a bed of lettuce drowned in Kens Ceasar Dressing. I was unable to finish any part of the meal along with the rest of the family and skipped any dessert. We want to go to sleep early as I complained to the front desk that this did not meet my expectations for the money I was planning to spend at Villa Roma. She apologized and agreed with me and fully understood. She and others we spoken with at the hotel seemed use to complaints and were empathetic as there was no fixing the problems. The next morning we checked out before 10am, but before I could make it to the front desk, the toilet in my bathroom exploded when my 4 year flushed her pee. She was terrified and crying from the experience as the toilet overflowed all over the bathroom and I have attached some pictures for your viewing. This message was emailed to both Paul Carlucci the VP & Scott Bell the GM with no response.

Villa Roma is the only vacation place that makes me feel 100% comfortable. The rooms are clean and I love the family oriented activities. The entertainment is fun and by the end of the week you become friends with all of the people that you meet there. I would highly recommend staying here and seeing what this place is all about.

Anyone that thinks this is a great resort has never been to a great resort. The place is falling apart and outdated. The decks on the units are rotted. The property is filthy and unkempt. There are potholes in the roads that would lose a small car or child. Whoever owns this property is just milking the cash out of it and not making any investment. If there was a 1/2 star it would be too high of a rating. The food is bland and served cold. Usually the wait staff is friendly and attentive but were awful during my last visit. I guess any person that visits from NYC area that gets to see a tree and some lawn may think it is a great hide away, but it is not. This all said, with investment it could be a great resort. My recommendation is to find another resort.

A Catskill resort...ala Dirty Dancing...which has honed the careers of many American comics was on my bucket list. We loved our visit to Villa Roma. Two hours from NYC the resort is a little worn and meal packages come with NYC type prices, but since I was looking for a 1960's resort experience I loved it. Doc Holiday and the resort activities staff are worth the trip, alone. Nightly entertainment us safe for families and the most proper grandmother, but still fun for young adults....but OMG the nightclub chairs are not buttock kind. We recommend staying in a villa and making a local grocery run. On resort shuttle service is excellent in carrying you back to the main hotel building for the shows and main house activities.

Way to go Villa Roma!!!! I was so happy to see all the sanitizers throughout the hotel. Our timeshare was spotless! DOC HOLIDAY has been absolutely amazing!! He has such a great personality keeping everyone informed on events with his live videos. He is working very hard to keeps the spirts up during this crazy time in the world and although we were nervous about coming during this time, I must say it feels great to get away and enjoy a safe and fun vacation. My family has been coming her for over 20 years and I want to thank Doc Holiday and the staff at the Villa Roma for making the changes they needed to to continue to give families a great place to visit. I hope management keeps up the good work so Villa Roma can be around for my grandkids. Thank you!!!
