Let me begin by stating that if you require wireless high speed internet, as we do, then I strongly recommend Velocity Networks over the other provider(s). FAST AND RELIABLE SPEEDS, GREAT PRICE AND AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Here is my story. We have lived on our acreage since 1992, and we are now situated within the town boundary of Cochrane. When wireless internet first became available, it was provided by Platinum Communications. Even though no other option was available, we were still fairly happy with the service. Over the years, things changed at Platinum, and eventually, due to the re positioning of a tower or something like that, our internet became next to useless. A technician came out and finally stated that we were basically a hundred feet or so outside of their coverage area now, so nothing could be done. At this point, we switched over to the other provider in our area (Xplornet), and initially were quite happy with the new faster speeds. This lasted all of about 2 weeks, until we noticed that our speeds were usually even worse than before. When I called to find out why (and it took a long, long time to even talk to a human), I was informed that we were going over our daily data limits and were being throttled back. When I inquired about this, I was told that during "peak hours" our data usage was limited, and exceeding this resulted in throttling. OK I said, what are considered peak hours. Peak hours, I was told, were something like 7 AM to 2 AM (I don't remember exactly). We abruptly ended our trial period, and called up Velocity. Technician arrived the next day, and went out of his way to ensure we had the best signal/line of site to the tower possible. Immediately we had fantastic speeds, usually faster than promised, and NO DATA LIMITS. We have been with Velocity for several years now, and rarely have we experienced any technical issues. When we do, 1 call puts me in touch immediately with a live human being who is always able to resolve the issue. Obviously one cannot compare rural wireless internet with what is available in town, but for those of us that don't have that option, Velocity is your best choice, hands down. If you don't believe me, try your luck with the other guys. I've been there, done that, and was not impressed. In
