Vancouver Airport Authority Review

Vancouver is a Great and beautiful city and so does the Vancouver international airport. Awesome airport. Clean, helpful and pretty quick being processed. Well I did get pulled aside for a lovely body scan, but hey I could take that as a negative but I prefer to take it as a positive. They must have thought I looked like someone off to have a really good time on my holiday. Lol

Huge airport with a brand new international flight wing. Note that if you are connecting via a domestic flight to an international flight you may have a long walk. There is a huge duty free shop that has all the high end designer brands including Hermes, Cartier, Bottega Veneta, Burberry and Gucci. Bring your wallet. There are lots of fast food options too.

Easy to navigate, international arrivals area has a friendly feel to it. You can take a cab or the Skytrain to the city. Check out YVR's website for delays; you don't need the flight number.

YVR is an excellent location for wonderful architecture, pleasant people, and free Wi-Fi. Food prices are roughly equal in price to other airports, which could be improved. Transportation is readily available, but the cost of a ticket for the Skytrain from YVR is higher than anywhere else you could purchase it, making it a clear rip off. If you're returning to YVR, it's recommended to bring a 1 zone ticket to get out of this expensive area, and purchase the rest of your transit fare elsewhere.

Know this: 1: Business and Altitude Status don't qualify for FastTrack (priority security lane) until after 8AM, 2: Tim Hortons is hidden at domestic gate 35 at ground level. There is never a line up in the morning because no one other than YVR staff can find it.

Best and worst memory ever. I really liked Canada. But, i had to return fom Canada to my country, South Korea (Korea or whatever IDK) I really cried in the aiport. It was the best memory cuz i really loved vancouver, yeah

Very clean and well organized airport. Awesome transportation to the downtown core using the very efficient sky train.

The airport was very clean and cute.
But I waited a lot when entering the country.

Airport is slow, slow, slow especially for security checks... 6 lanes for security scanning, only one is open. Left with no time in the duty free area. Their loss I guess... continuously hear people in the queue complaining to staff asking why so slow. 15:30PM 30th July ...

Feeling quite comfortable at the airport, some accessories are very interesting.

Waaaaayyyyy nicer than flying from the USA. I promise, it's worth the extra to deal with friendly polite Canadians instead of obnoxious American security. It's quiet and you're not treated like cattle. Canadians - PLEASE choose to spend your money into the Canadian economy and support your infrastructure.

Well organized, calm and beautiful airport....but it really lacks amenities such as showers, free lounge areas that other top International airports do. Before security and after for transfers alike. I would give it 5 stars if it did.

One of the best airports in Canada - far better than Toronto YYZ. There is proper signage everywhere, facilities are clean, lots of food choices, good artwork and good staff.

Aside from having a part stolen off my car I liked the parking lot and the 24 hour shuttle service.

Very pretty airport and points to the staff for not letting me get TOTALLY lost. (For a second i was about to go into the international departures)

I enjoy this airport very much. I've been to several airports in the states and in Asia, and I am proud that YVR is my home airport. Clean, organized, and have generally had good experiences here!

It's a pretty kool place and it's getting bigger that staff there are friendly lots of kool stuff to see if you go there take the time take a step back and just look around u will see how kool it is anyways just out in the back where there extending the airport just paving a piece.

Who is the genius that turned the Cell Phone parking lot into a construction staging area? Most airports welcome cell lots to keep the terminal curb clear. Most also provide portajohns, but then again they don't force you to drive in 4WD to get into the new shoebox lot.

International area is very nice first class. The tent tunnel for domestic flights needs to be improved and a LOT ! more moving sidewalks

Sadly I couldn't give this airport a 0. This is the worst airport I have ever been to the security is a joke the staff is not helpful or accommodating what so ever and i hope i never come here again.

I can't even thank the attendant at gate C47 Flight 118 to Toronto on July 20. My flight in Victoria got delayed 4 times which caused me to miss my connecting flight. No answer, no nothing as to why. We raced over to gate C47 in hopes there was space to board this flight because if not, we would be stuck in the Vancouver airport for 3 more hours. Thankfully this attendant helped me and a coworker out and found us two seats! I can't remember her name for the life of me, but if it wasn't for her I'd go crazy!

Free WiFi, Skytrain access right from the terminals, very clean restrooms, and it's not much busier compared to other airports.

The Vancouver International Airport is one the most energetic airports in the world...

Got off a 13 hour flight and it took us over an hour to get through customs. They did not use all the passport scanning machines and the lineup was so long that they made us walk in circles. After that we were redirected out of customs and had to check back in and line up a second time for 20 min to get through customs again....this doesn't make much sense as many people could not make their flights in time.

A lot better than LAX, that's for sure. Vancouver has a small, yet beautiful airport that boasts some pretty nice infrastructure and public transportation. While the food may not be top notch, it's certainly a relaxing enough airport that differs vastly from American ones. Layovers here are especially bearable, even though it has fewer entertainment options than some of the larger airports.

YVR is by far the best airport I have been to. I appreciate the lovely, clean, pleasant environment with courteous staff and some nice shops & restaurants etc to pass the time. I noticed they are always making improvements to make the airport experience better and more efficient.

Nice airport but beware of the fraudulent car rental places located in airport (dollar, budget, etc). Worst car rentals I've ever dealt with anywhere in the world.

For a busy airport they move passengers in and out extremely well. Congrats YVR

An excellent airport! The staff and the airport in general are amazing. I've never been so well treated in my entire life. Even with my flight delayed and the airport manage to help everyone to get a taxi. Best experience ever! Love it

Been here many times, pretty quiet today comparatively.

When you really have to fly, choose YVR. It's a very nice, almost deserted airport - huge for the number of people that fly through it

Talking about airport amenities, is perfect, Wi-Fi works well everywhere in the airport.
Lots of washrooms very clean and also a lit of seats and armchairs. You can plug your phone almost everywhere. Now talking about airport life and entertainment, today December 12sd, 2020. This airport is dying. Most of shops are close, most of destination are cancelled and of course, as you can see in my photos, few people are traveling. Looks weird. Usually I like and I always enjoy airport's ambiance. Today, it's shame for business and pleasure.

This airport is huge but really easy to navigate, lots of things stay open late for the late plane arrivals. Lots of food options to choose from and lots of options that stay open late. There's not a lot of places to sleep in the airport if you have a layover.

proper precautions being taken to ensure the airport is safe. neat bathrooms and properly labeled floor signs to follow. so sad stores are closed so there's not much to do while waiting for your flight when you go past security

Long delay in flights, you have to have patience !!

Free Wi-Fi throughout the airport is beyond a huge plus and something that most airports are without these days.

Security still utilizes metal detectors rather than the newer style detectors which is disappointing for a large and otherwise seemingly modern airport.

There's a lot of comfortable seats with chargers, not overcrowded compared to other airports. The views are good at some angles as you can see downtown Vancouver. Well maintained and the layout is rather simple.

Throughout my traveling to YEG and back, I've never had any problems while traveling through Vancouver International Airport. They're plenty of signs, markers, or people to assist with navigating to your next destination. I've only been here as a layover, but it works well for that purpose.

The airport is in general friendly. I have been there many times. However, the lady at security check entrance this morning was really rude. She pushed people away, yelling at them, even threaten to call security, just because they stand in there watching their friend to go in... really bad altitude...totally unreasonable... don t know what is wrong with her...

Best Airport in North America. A lot of art works pretty aquarium, clean and classy

Beautiful Airport! Love Observation Desk! Architecture is beautiful. Inside Terminal ample of space, calm yet modern with Wifi. Transportation to downtown is nice with Light Rail

Great improvements, the food choices and shopping could be better at the international gates. Not bad for a fly by but not too great for a 3hour tour

Ive always found it not only amazingly aesthetically breathtaking (waterfalls and earth/forest walkway environments after being on planes) when coming home but also comforting and well run. There always seem to be people at the info desk ready to helps and you can store your bags for less than 5bux and walk around if you have a wait. After travelling abroad, how many airports can you say offer FREE Wi-Fi, public electrical docking stations, trollys and open padded seating without arms that you can actually sleep on if you have to. Fantastic and thanks to the people who make it happen. every. day.

ps- for the people complaining about lines, customs waits . that is not the airports fault. Its the vendor [airline] who is renting that space or your govt. who sets those rules.

All drinking fountains are disabled, which is very inconvenient.

Great Airport, quick efficient, new construction happening

The staff who controls the taxi are unprofessional, and very rude . They are very embarrassing .

Excellent and huge airport. The local terminal is a little old, but the international terminal is very good. Not that I like being stopped at the airport, but you can spend a long connection without boredom.

Not even a star. In particular, Air Canada ticketing counters come out with no paper in trouble if the machine is bored, and it's really the worst for an unfinished employee.

As a jet setter hands down my favourite airport (no bias)

It is Vancouver-like, very comfortable airport in a very relaxing space.
The aboriginal arts and exhibits are everywhere and the ceiling is high so it will not be very stressful even if you stay for a long time.

one good restaurant in the international concourse, the rest are garbage

Rating is based on many airports around the world. Arrived into the Domestic Terminal around 11am. It was pretty basic and okey specifically when compared to Toronto- YYZ!!

This is for YVR, so why are people talking about what they think of Air Canada?

YVR is a great airport.

YVR is the best airport I have ever been to. I worked on it so I should know. If there wasn't construction again it would look great(er), but all airports grow constantly and you just have to deal, right now it's the parking garage and it's warranted. They could use more efficiency dealing with Special needs groups and the regular physically disabled. AKA My flight had 6 or 8 Seniors and...a party of 16 Special needs who also needed assistance. It was hard as it was a huge walk for the others or as Karen (from the SpNeeds group) said 'they don't do easy!' It was funny except it took way too long! Not enough Drivers! Longest time to get out of there ever! Not normal and Quite the experience but we survived.

It is an airport like every other airport. They could use some beter options for food and some better lounges.

Bathrooms in the E gates were pretty gross. Other than that, it's a nice airport
