Valentin hotels Review

Great place to stay, the ground, staff, and food was wonderful. This is our fourth trip here and will not be our last.

We traveled to Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya from July 12 - July 19, 2020 for our first time. Having not been here prior to COVID we were unsure of what to expect, but it was fantastic! The staff was beyond accommodating and welcoming. We stayed in a Deluxe Jr Suite (their basic suite, room 4306). The room location was just right as we are more pool people than beach people. While the resort it spread out more than some other resorts, it never felt like you were walking far as the resort is beautifully landscaped. The breakfast and lunch buffets always had plenty to offer (we did not go to the a la carte breakfast). We were able to try restaurant while we were there and all of the meals were delicious. Sonia at the main pool bar on the more active side and Michel at the other main pool bar were both welcoming, got to know us and what we liked to drink. The Go Team (Jesus, Lorenzo, Alex, and Marina) did a good job of keeping people engaged in the limited number of activities that they were able to do. My husband is someone who likes to constantly be moving and participated in pretty much every activity they offered and loved it. The precautions the resort took with hand sanitizer throughout the resort, table spacing, and the buffets (staff to serve) were more than anything I have seen in a restaurant near us. Service is what you will find here. 99% of the staff is amazing. The French restaurant was my favorite place to dine. The pool was full of activities to partake or just watch. The pool staff was always ready to help and bring you another drink.

The beach was not really a snorkeling or swimming beach. The seaweed was plentiful and the sea was rough. But if you are looking to catch some rays, then you'll be happy. The beach is public and vendors do nag at you to buy something. Unlike the hotel grounds, here you need to make sure your stuff is with you or secured or it will grow wings.

The rooms are big, clean and inviting. The bed was firm but not hard. Tons of pillows. Fridge had juices, beer and champagne. More hangers would have been great in the closet.

The bathroom was well equipped and the toiletries were actually good quality, next time I'll leave mine at home.

The quality of service is a 10 by 99% of the staff. Unfortunately there is a lady cook in the Mar and Tierra restaurant that burnt my steak and then tried to give it to me as if it was edible. Then there was a pool server that since we didn't tip her enough she avoided us the entire afternoon. Luckily another person took our drink orders and gave us great service.

So I'm my book; two bad apples and a non swimmable beach results in 4 stars.

Loved it! Love the people. Lots and lots of walking and mosquitoes and iguanas. Truly in the middle of the jungle.

About 30 min from the airport. Came for a wedding. Beautiful, lush grounds. Spread out buildings, none more than two stories. Ocean facing and interior lagoon facing rooms available, all very roomy and comfortable. Several restaurants, each a different cuisine, all top-notch. Friendly staff everywhere, most with very good multilingual skills. Beach is rocky, so not good for swimming but lovely to sit on in the provided palapas. Giant pool with two swim up bars. Overall great, relaxing experience.

Jan 12 - 26, 2018 -I rarely write reviews but in all fairness I felt I had to for this beautiful resort and its friendly competent employees.
Upon arriving at the resort we immediately felt a part of the resort - the staff was always kind and considerate and never too busy to say hello and to provide assistance.
The Food was excellent and 2nd to none in quality and quantity!!! All food categories were tops!!! Special thanks to Luis, Sarah and Niaomia in the main buffet restaurant for their fine friendly service!!
You could find any space you felt like whether you wanted to be secluded or involved with activity!! The activity group never let it get boring and did a bang up job around the main pool area - again I have to mention the fantastic job Dora did!!
The resort grounds are massive and I strongly suggest the morning bike tour to take the resort in and to witness the massive amount of time that has to be spent manicuring the grounds!!!
Overall we had a fantastic time and will be back!!

Very nice adults-only resort with great beach, well-kept area, excellent food, high-quality cocktails and drinks as well as an honest friendly service. In the price-performance ratio really top. Granted: As a German you are pretty much alone here. Most Americans, especially honeymooners, visit this hotel. It did not bother us ;-)

Greatest place on earth I've found so far. Everybody here is awesome & helpful. The resort is gorgeous. The atmosphere is always amazing. And there are no kids under 18, so it is peaceful & relaxing. Wish i could live here.

The hotel is beautiful. The gardens are abundant and hide the cement, although that means that the distances are a bit longer. The meals are within what was expected. The attention is cordial and available. The pools are extensive. A large section of the beach is free of stone and the wave is pleasant. The drinks are correct. The hygiene in rooms and common areas is very good.

BUT: A member of our group had an accident caused by a badly installed furniture. The initial care was adequate and ended his stay with a wheelchair and crutches, but he spent the week discussing the compensation for the damage received and his stay was ruined. The hotel did not respond as it should. If you go to this hotel, make sure you do not have accidents.

This was our second time visiting Valentine. I almost hate writing this as more people will discover this hidden gem. The grounds are well manicured. The food is amazing, the staff makes everyone fell so welcome, and go above and beyond to see all your wants are satisfied. The beach at Valentine is beautiful, and the pools are huge. Truly an awesome place!

This is a great resort. It has both activities and areas to lounge. The beach is well groomed and clean. I loved the service on the beach. The rooms are clean and well sized. The people who work here are wonderful. They always greet you with a smile and I know how hard they work to maintain this resort.
As for the meals. The breakfast and lunch were great. The dinners were good. The reason it was good and not great is that we must understand who their largest clients are and that the foods are catered to them. I just wished the dinners were more authentic. But as a business owner I would do the same to cater to my client wishes.
Overall, I would highly recommend this resort. It is possibly the best resort I have stayed.

Second time visiting the Valentin. It is hard to imagine there could be a better all inclusive resort than this. Entertainment for the entire day each day and the FOOD WAS PHENOMENAL. All of this, and the best part of all was the service. My wife left her straightener at home and one of the staff was willing to have his friend buy one from wal-mart for us and bring it to me that day. We will be coming back here for life.

Just spent 7 days at the Valentin for my honeymoon. It was wonderful!! The food was amazing, staff always friendly, and resort beautiful. The French resturant was to die for! Delicious!!! Victor, the bartender, would make you anything you asked for and was wonderful. We could not have asked for a better honeymoon. We are hoping to come back again very soon!

I just finished my second trip here. Every aspect met or exceeded my high expectations. We got the Privilage package which included lobster every night if desired, a 4 person jacuzzi on the roof under the stars and a private palapa at the pool or on the beach.

Beautiful place, without a doubt the best to spend our honeymoon, we will undoubtedly return to this magical place. The only bad thing is that it is not very economically accessible but it really is worth every peso you pay. Excellent food, excellent facilities and excellent service.

Our 4th visit and we weren't disappointed. Such a fabulous resort with wonderful service. A special mention to Daniel and Esperanza in the Privilege concierge who went above and beyond to make our stay special, much appreciated. Janai in the spa gave me the most wonderful treatments. Other fantastic staff well worth a mention include: Rodolfo and Mildre in the Hacienda, Horacio in L'Olivo, Yuritzi at the Plaza, Alejandra and Mauricio in the Privilege lounge, Juan, Arturo and Dawrin in Ginger and Raphael and Erbay also. We had Big shout out to the Imperial Band for the great evenings' entertainment. Highly recommend and looking forward to the next time we return :)

Hands down, the most beautiful resort in Mexico. Gracious service, and clean, clean, clean. We'll be heading there in a few days for our 4th time. I recommend upgrading to the Privilege package--you won't be disappointed.

The perfect honeymoon destination! We were able to completely relax all week and were treated with the kindest service! The truly know how to take care of you and we never once felt uncomfortable or unhappy! Food, drinks, and service was perfect!

Absolutely gorgeous. Staff is incredible. Food 10/10. Almost 1.5km of beach. Bali beds. Amazing!

Beautiful hotel with wonderful landscaping. The room are by far the best I have ever seen in going to Mexico 7 times now. The quality of the food is good, and has a great variety.

The bad? It is enormous, and there is a lot of walking. The pool is a lot more like your typical Cancun spring break destination than the other places I have been near Playa Del Carmen. The staff is very hit and miss. There are some incredibly polite and happy employees, and there are some that seem very annoyed. Also, the rules for eating and drinking are a little intense. This is a beach resort in Mexico. Wearing dress shoes to walk across a 140 acre facility to eat dinner or go to a bar is silly. I understand not wanting folks in wet swimsuits and tank tops making it look less classy, as truly it is a classy place. However, wearing a proper collared shirt, linen pants, and a pair of sandals, one should not be expected to go change shoes.

The most wonderful place of all all inclusive resorts.

We had an absolutely fabulous stay! The staff were truly wonderful - we felt welcome and cared for the entire time. I can't get over how great the food was - every restaurant was fantastic - even the buffet option between lunch and dinner was delicious! Room service was great as well. If you're a foodie, you won't be disappointed. The property is really lovely, with lots of vegetation and thoughtful landscaping. The rooms are spacious and clean, with great water pressure and AC. We initially booked a Deluxe Junior Suite, but upgraded to a pool-side Golden Junior Suite. Both were lovely, but we liked being near the meandering pool. Turn-down service was a real treat, and the concierge was very helpful and accommodating to our requests. The pools are breathtaking - extensive throughout the property, clean, and with waitstaff to keep the beverages coming! (Which aren't watered-down, by the way). The beach was perfect, with plenty of seating, umbrellas, and cabanas to rent if you feel like being extra pampered! A perfect getaway. We can't wait to return!

(Note: Do mind the dress code for the restaurants, it is enforced. And please do remember to tip - the resort may be all-inclusive, but the staff really work hard to keep folks happy and healthy given the pandemic. In addition to extra cleaning measures, they're all wearing masks and face shields in the heat of the day. They deserve lots of appreciation)!

We stayed at the resort for two weeks in the swim up suite , The beach was fantastic and very clean, i have read that some say its rocky and covered in seaweed, not sure what beach those people were at but the beach was so nice to swim at that people walked from other resorts to use this beach.

The restaurants were amazing, 9 of them, keep this in mind because no matter how good the food is it gets old eating the same food all the time, so plenty to choose from here, my only complaint is they do have 1 restaurant where you must pay, i found this very odd for a 5 star resort that is all inclusive, we did not eat there, i could not imagine what they would make you pay for that i could not already get in 1 of the 9 other restaurants they have, way to many great places to eat that have already been paid for. they do push you at every meal to order wine, very expensive, stick to house wine and other drinks already included in your price.

We also had the privilege package, although not really necessary, but we enjoyed it very much.the perks were you could make reservations for dinner for your entire stay, others have to wait in a long lines daily and can only book for that day, and no waiting, front of the line at all restaurants, also lobster is included for all meals if you want, private cabana at the beach with you name on it for the entire stay.also has a private lounge, this is also your private check in room, very nice over the top room with the biggest most comfortable couches and chairs and amazing art on the walls, also has exclusive very top shelf liquor selection and a fine selection of snacks.

NO TIME SHARE HASSLE HERE, i asked about it during my check in and was assured that they don't even offer it even if you wanted one,

The staff are very friendly, the resort walkways are very clean, lots of plants and trees and pleasant to walk around the resort, it takes about 15-20 minutes to walk the whole resort, plenty of golf carts shuttling people if you need it, they will come right to you building if you call for one.. We are returning to the resort in March 2016 for another two weeks to celebrate my 50th birthday couldn't think of a better place to be.

Omg 5 stars is an understatement!! This place deserves the max! Great customerservice, great good, the atmosphere was like heaven. Rooms are clean and the workers are so great they never complain or have an attitude they work so hard to serve us guest and I really appreciated my stay! If your looking for all inclusive and adults only this is definitely the place in Mexico!!!

VIM is absolutely amazing! This was our 2nd visit and we continue to be impressed by their hospitality, service, and resort grounds! To address any COVID concerns, they have measures in place to ensure that all guests and employees are safe - sanitize luggage upon arrival, infrared temperature check before leaving arrival area, employees have masks/face shields/gloves, and there is hand sanitizer just about every where you'd need it to be! We stayed in building 14 (recommend 2nd floor for best ocean view) and an amazing hot tub view from the room as well! All employees were amazing, but especially like to mention Miguel Angel, Carlos, Delfino, Noehmi and Edgar (bartender) from Le Marche; Jesus (Go Team), and Isidro (Mar y Tierra). Every employee does an amazing job to make you feel "at home" and part of their extended family! We can't wait to get back for stay #3!!

The best out of the three resorts my wife & I vacationed at, in the Riviera Maya. In 2018 February we will be going back to Valentin . The beach was amazing. The pool & the service was great. Very clean Resort. The staff was very personable.

Wonderful place, my first trip out of the USA for honeymoon.

The rooms are incredible and the grounds are absolutely all you could hope for. The food is good.

This resort has set the bar really high. It is true luxury. The rooms and grounds are pristine. The staff is amazing. The food is excellent. The beach is beautiful and private.

I had a fantastic time here, it was utterly relaxing. The food was fantastic, the service equally as good. I need to specifically call out the service from Pedro at the sports bar, and Sonya at the poolside bar.

Update: Third year in a row, continues to be a beautiful resort and very relaxing. I can see a slight decline in a few areas and shared my concerns with the appropriate staff during my stay and well at check out. 1) On arrival, as a return guest, you are recognized in the daily "newsletter". This year we had to ask why our names didn't appear last year only to be ask "oh, is this not your first time here?" The next day our names were there but incorrect. They kindly apologized and corrected the next day but again had them wrong. Not a big deal but for memory sake it meant something to us. 2) The band at night isn't near what it has been the past 2 years. Most nights there were minimal couples out- the vibe was just boring. 3) Our housekeeping was far less than par. I do not think they ever swept our floor. Being at the beach all day there is no way to not have sand in the entrance. It grew daily...8 days worth. 4 days in a row we had zero face towels to bathe with. Every single day we had to call, ask for and wait 20-30min standing in sandy swim suits waiting to shower. 4) Ginger has a great menu...prefer eat in main part vs hibachi part- the food is better. The service has been bad each year...this year no better.
Again, these are the negatives....we were here 8 days and there are ample, ample positives. The place is goregous, the time is amazing.

Best bang for the buck in the Riviera Maya. Excellent food and top notch liquors. People are very friendly and helpful. 2nd time here. We'll be back!

Excellent place to relax, eat delicious and have a good time!

This was the most beautiful resort I have ever had the pleasure of staying at!!! They welcome you and make you feel like a king and queen when you arrive! The rooms are just as great as the pics look! The grounds are breath taking! Idk about beach, we never made it out there cuz we spent most time away on tours during the day, but the pools are grand and clean! The restaurants were ok... The Japanese one was the best, and then the French... did not like the others. We ordered room service a lot but was not hot any time they brought it. I lived off their amazing fruit majority of the time... that's was my only draw back about the resort but still gave it 5 stars because that's how awesome the place is and the service. They never begged for tips but I was eager to oblige because they very well deserved it. Do not skip out on this property!

We visited here March 2017 and had a wonderful experience. We were treated like royalty. The staff members were accommodating, rooms were excellent (we had a swim up suite- wow!) The restaurants were excellent... Never had a bad meal. This place is top notch. The only downside for me was that the ocean was too rough to swim in 6 out of 7 days we were there, but this may have just been the time of year that we went. It was a gorgeous view, though!

best trip i ever had, rooms were nice except the cleaner they used was very strong so we had to air out the room, someone was always there if you need help with anything, the bellhops work very hard, tip them well, pool was beautiful, wishing to go back

Tons of great food, bars, and entertainment. Staff super friendly and helpful. Place is huge so be prepared to walk around.

Beautiful hotel with Mexican Hacienda atmosphere but modern and with all the comforts, spectacular place, good food, they gave us an upgrade to a suite two levels above, I imagine it was because there was bad weather. Excellent service.

Had a rough start at the beginning of check-in. Asked for two double beds but they only had king size but they were able to help us out. The vegetarian selection in some restaurants are limited and they need to be clear with what is and isn't vegetarian at the buffet but overall it's a good resort and fairly clean with large sized rooms. Being an adult only resort is also a plus.

This place is great and with the exception of the Japanese restaurant the food is terrific.. The staff are very friendly and helpful.. I'll definitely be making regular visits to this resort
