Valentin hotels Review

We had a fabulous stay for 5 nights over New Year's Eve! The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained, the staff are professional, friendly, and always available, and the food was incredible!
Since we arrived late on December 30th, we did not have reservations for New Year's Eve dinner. We naively showed up at L'Alsace for 8:30 figuring we'd get a table. They were booked up, but after a couple of minutes of deliberation between the hostess and the manager (not at our request), they created a space for us. The dinner and service were both beyond our expectations! The celebrations in the open air afterward were fantastic! We will definitely have great memories of bringing in 2018!
The rest of our stay was also great - we enjoyed all of the food, playing in the waves at the beach, beach volleyball, lazing beside the lazy river (with excellent pool side service), pool biking, aqua force (Pilates on floating mats), and aqua zumba.
If you're going off site for an excursion, I highly recommend the Jungla Maya Adventure through Alltournative! It included rappelling and ziplining into two different cenotes, snorkeling in the world's largest underground river, and a visit to Tulum.

Great first all inclusive experience. Friendly staff with lots of options for activities. Not a huge party scene.

We enjoyed a wonderful one week holiday here in late August 2016. The food is very very good, the staff are friendly and helpful, the grounds a beautiful. However, the pool closes early (around 7pm), and all activities besides the night show are over by 5:30pm. This leaves a lot of time in the evening with nothing to do. That being said we did come to love the martini bar and it's wonderful host Gilberto! We would love to go back, but with a group of friends or family to animate things a little more.

Our stay at the Hotel was excellent! We had yoga and pilates classes with teacher Zyanya Amezca, a kind and very competent person! The animators were also very good! We spent the holidays very pleasant and enjoyed everything!

Great place for a couples vacation. Food and drink are top level. Beautiful hotel complex blended with nature. Nice rooms. Friendly staff.

Great all inclusive hotel. The service and the food were second to none for Riviera Maya. This resort is huge and feels like it is in the middle of no where and you are alone. By far the best vacation I've ever had.

Stayed here for honeymoon in December of 2019. Had a great experience. Very friendly staff, very clean resort and lots to do. Because we were on honeymoon, we were upgraded to a suite at no extra charge - which was appreciated.

Lots of restaurants to pick from and require no reservations. However, it is recommended you go early to the restaurant of your choice, to avoid line-ups (especially if you are over holiday seasons) and to get good seats.

Breakfast options are GREAT. And 24 hours room service came in handy more than one occasion.

We felt very safe at the resort. We would walk around the resort and by the beach at odd times during the night and always felt at ease. Every 100 meters or so of the resort wall there is a security check post - to ensure no intruders can get in for the safety of its patrons. Kudos to your team to going to that extent to make sure your clients are safe.

Every night there were tons of different events, markets and shows. So there was always something to do and experience something different.

Few things to consider if you are planing to go to this resort (speaking from an experience):

- If you are not from US, make sure you bring US currency with you. As Mexico is very much catered to US clients and everyone accepts US currency. However, do bring some Mexican currency as well - for tips, etc.

- It is sad, but the restaurant menus aren't catered towards vegans at all. They make accommodations and can make changes to their items on the menu - but it can be challenging having to explain with language barriers.

- Restaurants have a dress code - So bring a few pairs of trousers and formal dresses. Luckily i had brought couple of trousers with me - in case it rained or whatever. But normally going to Caribbean trousers are the last thing on my mind.

- Tiki huts at the beach are limited and get taken very quick. It's best if you go there early, put your bags or hats, or towels to reserve them. Or else you'd be walking back and forth a while, waiting for people to leave - unless you are ok with no shade.

- If you are in the markets outside the resort or within the resort - NEVER pay the asking price. There have been instances where i bought the items for less than 60% off the asking price. If you look foreigner and don't speak the language, be assured margins go up exponentially.

- Although it is adults only resort - time to time you see children at the beach from other resorts.

- Bicycles aren't available at all times and you cannot just rent them to explore the resort (which was a bummer as it is a very big resorts). You can only use bicycles during specific group tours on specific days and times.

Of course your experience will be different than everyone else's - as was mine. That said, we will definitely go back here. Most important piece of suggestion is USE COMMON SENSE - inside or outside the resort.

Best all inclusive ever. We were there a week ago (2nd time) and it still lives up to our expectations. The food (buffet area) is even good. The restaurants food is good and the people are amazing. Everyone says hi to you and they really know how to take care of you. There is a nice entertainment pool, but then the lazy river pool to relax. Bars are everywhere, beach service is amazing. Even the cheapest room is amazing! You will not be disappointed if you go here.

Amazing staff, very big resort and lovely room. You won't get disappointed if you love day & night activities and enjoying partying.
Beach is rather rocky and not very swimmable. The French and Italian restaurants are truly 5-star but food in the Ginger Japanese restaurant is one of the worst I have ever had. Drinks are quality, not very high end liquor; however twenty different kinds of freshly squeezed \ cold pressed juices in breakfast buffet definitely made my days.

Had a great time. Everyone is friendly and the service was awesome.

My dreams became a reality. My Wife and I recently just got married and ventured to Mexico for our honeymoon. We realized after going on excursions that the other hotels were not even close to what this one was. We felt safe during the pandemic and ALL of their staff was very friendly and always wanted to help. We will be coming back every year we can. This place is amazing and highly recommend.

We went for a adult retreat and it was fantastic. We stayed in building two across the concierge. He was fantastic. He had a happy birthday sign up and a special fruit basket and wine for our arrival.

The food was delicious, the ground pristine, the staff polite and very friendly.

The entertainment staff is very hard working and the bar staff too.

It was pretty serene when we went but it was expected as it's a rather expensive resort.

Beautiful resort. Huge pools and tons of choices for food. Not to much for the super adventerous on the resort, but enough within a few hours drive. The beach was meh at best. Couldn't swim due to the wind and riptides. Still had a great time and would recommend.

Get better with mosquitoes because they don't let you walk in free areas.

Pros, It was beautiful and wonderful food. The Beach is beautiful, the bartenders are wonderful and lively, they had great selection of alcohol. The place speaks for itself. They provide fun/pleasant activities

Cons were; long restaurant wait, we waited over 2 hours for our food after placing an order . We did have a group of six though, maybe that caused a way slower food services, can only do reservation in one restaurant, staff can sometimes talk about you in Spanish. We had some people who spoke Spanish and that was awkward, we never told them anything, just didn't tip after that.

Overall, the place still left an wonderful impression.

Beautiful resort with a wonderful staff. It is peaceful but also has lots of things to do.

Best place ever!!! The grounds and staff were phenomenal. Every single person was friendly and always had a smile on their face. Every inch of this resort is well groomed and cleaned to a 'T'.

The food was also top notch. We enjoyed the French restaurant the most, the hibachi was great for meeting other people and just enjoying the company of others.

We spent our days on the beach near buildings 12 and 13. Guillermo works the bar near this area and took amazing care of us, always made sure we had fresh drinks and his drinks were AMAZING. We'll miss him and can't wait to come back to this resort.

Came here on our honeymoon for the first time a year ago. Loved it so much we came back with a group of 10 and we all agree we wouldn't want to do an all inclusive vacation anywhere else. Everything is top notch from food to service, and we had so much fun with the activity team, especially our favorite, Dora! We will be back again.

Very clean resort with lots of activities available on the premises. Food is literally available to you at all times. The restaurants, especially Italian and French are absolutely delicious! Fresh fruit is amazing and is available at all times as well. We went in April and the water was very warm with very little seaweed. The staff were very pleasant. Would definitely recommend this place.

We have been here 4 years in a row. I first found the VIM by using Google earth to look for a resort with a good swimmable beach with no rocks. you can see it is a very great place to swim in the ocean the pools are also magnificent but we r ocean people. My husband is allergic to clorine. So sad as it is he has never been in any of the pools due to his allergies. I have & they are quite nice. The beach is Great & the ocean is whatever the weather may bring that day. We actually like it when the ocean has rough waves but we are good swimmers which you have to be. We also have respect for the ocean. Never turn your back on it or you will be in for a big surprise when it drags you down & you tumble up in a foot of water w/ your swim suit. Half on!! I also have a lot of food allergies. I have NEVER gotten sick here. I don't even go out to eat @ home because of this. So it was quite a concern for me. The food is fabulous. We love all the restaurants I think the Indonesian is actually the best our least fav is. The French. But I'm not a big meat eater. We have stayed@ the emeralds 2 times & the golden suites just this time for something different. It was nice. But I like waking up. & looking out @ the ocean. The sunrise is spectacular & then the over the ocean. Is quite nice especially @ Halloween . Day of the dead. Has always been a special day for us. We celebrate lorens birthday which is actually my grandfathers & our wedding anniversary all in the same day we absolutely love this place. Entertainment is great staff is wonderful & so are ALL of the employees. They work VERY Hard & it shows. All the way down to the ground keepers. There goal is to make you happy & have a great time on your vacation. You should respect them also. As they are just like any people you meet & should be respected also. So We have gone on quite a bit of excursions also. Loved every 1 of them.. & of course if you choose to just chill & hang @ the resort that's great to its your choice. Been to Chichen Itza. Jumped into Ikil. ( cenotes ) climbed to the top of Coba. AWSOME. What a site atop of the sun gods tomb. overlooking the jungle.. Hard to believe so close to the ocean but couldn't even see it.. Just miles & miles of jungle. We spent the whole day there. We Ziplined rode bikes & then a authentic sunset ceremony & dinner.. Also more cenotes that 1 was 30 feet high that we jumped in. When you have time to think about when you are going to hit the water you are pretty high up. I love jumping in I always go 1st. Then he has to do it! Well. What can I say I COBA & the Mayan ancestors that follow traditional rituals. Also went on catamarans snorkeling feed sea turtles & sting rays. Saw so many different kinds of fish I never even knew existed. Parasailing. Was a 1st for us a had a great time we saw a mantra Ray. It was. as big as the boat that was pulling us! Although my husband counted 22. speed bumps on the way back & He got a little van sick!! After a couple shots. of tequila he was all fixed up. lol. We took the fairy to cozumel. Spent the day on a catamaran snorkeling all around cozumel. He ended up getting an ear infection. He is a little tidbit he said. We r leaving cozumel. Cause you smell. Little play on words.
This last time we had a great guide went extreme ziplinning repelled down into the Cenote. Snorkled & out of the fresh water into the salt water. then into the sardine bait ball. There were so many you would have thought that you could have just been able to grab them NOT. Also saw a black eel . pretty cool. Our guide Rafael. Was the BEST. He went above & beyond we had the best time. I lost my FAVORITE bikini bottoms in the van. & he made sure I got them back. Thanks again Rafael. Bottoms up 2 you!

We just left the Valentin Imperial yesterday after a 4 night/5 day stay. I can not say enough good things about this resort! We had a blast. The food, rooms, and grounds are wonderful. From our check in with Omar to our activities in the pool with Edgar, Rudolfo,(Rudy) and Anna, to our ride around the grounds with Enrique, were nothing but exceptional! We already miss you guys! We look forward to returning again....I am sure I am forgetting something or someone, but 3 cheers for the Valentin Imperial!

We recently returned home from 2 wonderful weeks at the Valentin Imperial Maya.
This was our 5th year at this resort. "Once you find everything you want why go anywhere else". This was a special trip as my husband and I were renewing our wedding vows on the beach for our wedding anniversary. The entire event was so easy to plan from Canada as the wedding planner, Lucia, looked after absolutely everything.
From the moment we walked into our rooms, everything was perfect. One of the big attractions for us returning every year is that we get to visit with the same staff at the resort. We have watched the resort grow each year and it truly is a gem. We were very glad to see little Ivan, as well as big Ivan, Jazmin, Freddy and the rest of the staff at the Beach Restaurant. All of the Restaurants are fabulous and the food was excellant. We enjoyed several dinners at the Indonesian Restaurant with servers Nallely, Mary and Fabiola. Of course service from Alfredo in the French Restaurant was first class as always. The beach is beautiful and I can't think of a negative thing to say, I also can't say enough about the quality of the staff at this resort. These are the people who make your vacation relaxing and comfortable and they are the reason we are already planning next years trip. As for the beach vow renewal, again I can't express how relaxed and organized everything was and Lucia deserves a lot of credit for the work she did to make sure that our special day was just over-the-top fantastic. The flowers included in the package were absolutely spectacular. I also have to mention the Photography company that is exclusive to the Valentin, it is called Blue Lens Carib and the photographer Vanessa with her partner did an amazing job and were so much fun to work with. A thank you also to the Booking Manager, Alberto Lopez...who really helped to give us everything we asked for. Keep up the good work Christian. We look forward to seeing everyone next year.

I went to the Valentin Imperial with my husband on our honeymoon! We are so pleased with the service, accommodations, the staff, food selection absolutely amazing!! The staff is so helpful and kind . Excellent customer service!!! All inclusive resort for adults only is a must!! We are going to return because we enjoyed ourselves so much, relaxed and ate such good food!! Cannot say enough how great the customer service and how beautiful the resort is!! So clean and well kept! Amazing!!

Excellent place for a weekend, warm attention, very nice

If I could give 0 stars I would. There was a DROWNING. I found a man about 50ft out who had been in the water for who knows how long. A couple bystanders and I pulled him in and there were NO LIFEGUARDS on the beach. Someone had to run off beach to get one!! The yellow "Caution" flags were up, nobody on the beach went to get a Lifeguard at first, I had to have a friend run to get one because people just stood there and watched me pull him in. Staff/Lifeguards were down a path not anywhere near the water. We pulled him in and did CPR on the man for almost 7 minutes before any Lifeguards showed up on the beach! There were usually 2 or 3 in the tower at all times on the days before, and there were NONE. The poor man didn't make it. I don't understand how SAFETY can be so overlooked. Especially at such a beautiful well maintained resort. Staff and Medics didn't stick around to ask for statements afterwards, so a couple of us gave statements to the Manager upon check-out but there's no way they would tell the poor mans wife what happened. She deserves to know. There were NO LIFEGUARDS on the beach. Regardless of what happened in the water, whether this could have been preventable or not, it is completely unacceptable for there to be NO help or anyone watching swimmers. How are tourists supposed to feel safe knowing that their safety is at risk? Very beautiful resort for my first trip, but I do NOT recommend anyone to go now that we know they overlook safety so easily!

Third time visiting this resort! Best place in the Mayan

Had a fantastic time this past week. The grounds of this resort are always kept immaculate. They have the most talented landscapers in Mexico. The service by the wait staff around the main pool was incredible. Too many to mention as we sat in different places every day. But no matter where you sit, you will not be waiting for a drink. They just reopened the swim up bar but we did not use it because the wait staff was fast. The servers in all the restaurants and bars were top notch, funny engaging and very helpful with questions about the menu.
The resort is very conscientious about covid-19.Every single employee we saw had a mask and almost all of them had face shields as well. Plenty of hand sanitizer and social distancing. Floors marked with six foot stickers, every other table left empty in the restaurants. Not once did we feel forced to be too close to others. There were some large groups in the pool but the pool is so massive (and gorgeous) that you could always find a place to yourself if that is what you are looking for.
We especially enjoyed the Indonesian restaurant for dinner. Everything we had there was fantastic! Its the only restaurant we visited twice.
The rooms were cleaned daily by the attentive maid service and the beds turned down every night.
Our only complaint the entire week was the condition of the bed. They definitely need some new mattresses at the resort, or at least in our room anyway. Mostly our fault, as we were either so tired or so inebriated the first 4 nights we never mentioned it. We did however ask our buildings concierge if they could change it out after 4 nights, explaining how uncomfortable it was and she said she would take care of it. Unfortunately she did not. Same mushy mattress that rolled everything to the middle with a divot so big you could park a smart car in it. But other than that there was not one other single problem encountered all week. One other thing to mention, everyday they grill out by the pool, this is a great idea. One of the best things I ate all week was the pork tacos poolside. They also had some great chicken one day as well as standard burgers and hot dogs.
Would have been 5 stars for sure if not for the bed. But maybe we just got an older mattress. All in all we had a fantastic time and will definitely return. Many thanks to all the staff who we marveled at their hustle all week. They seriously but their butts around that place so make sure to tip your servers, bartenders and maid staff, it is their hard work that makes the place that good.

We booked a party of 10 together, 5 rooms last year. We got to the resort they had us spread out, my daughter and her friend were in a total different building, it took arguing with the front desk that this was not going to happen and finally they got her in the same building but many rooms away...ok we would deal with that. Now to find out on of our group is in another building, we were not happy. I had called the front desk and the lady asked snotty what would I like her to do?! I hung up let it go, but not happy. I made my mind up I would not return.
The food, we were not impressed, we have had much better food on the cruises we have been on. To them find out the restaurants, the men had to wear long pants. We were told pants were not needed so we only got to eat in the outside restaurant, so much for all inclusive! Most people were nice and helped but when the ones were rude, they were rude and didn't care to help you out.
The rooms are nice, Jacuzzi in our room did not work.
But the view is beautiful, the resort is kept up someone always seems to be cleaning or landscaping.
We personally wont return but I hope you have a better time!

Amazing time for the entire group! We had 3 couples and stayed for 7 days. We started off first day with just relaxing in the main pool and exploring the food. Next day we did the bike tour to get to know the entire resort. Leo and Lorenzo were our tour guides and then they were part of the entire GO team thats responsible for all the games and activities. Resort itself is well kept and so are the rooms, which are visited 2x a day for cleaning/turn down service(tip these people!) Every restaurant has its signature dish that our group loved. At the last day we visited both the French restaurant for apps and main and then Hacienda for mains and dessert. Remember to bring plenty of singles for tips for everyone that makes your stay complete. Leo, Lorenzo, and Daniels were the absolute best entertainers from the bike tours, to the pool volleyball, fitness courses, etc, they really helped us have an amazing time! The only negatives we encountered were nothing to do with the resort or staff at all, it was simply selfish and demanding patrons being extremely rude to service staff, no manors at all. Remember how hard all the staff works. We've seen many workers work from 8am to well passed 11pm. Take care of them!

Been here in 2009 and 11 years later I'm writing a review about this :) :) Only now is the time to write hahahah! You may know it? house, tree, bug :)

What I wanted to write is that we had a great time here. Adult only hotel (whether it is?) So that there are no screaming, screaming, whining, crying children in the pool, in a restaurant or during your breakfast :) What a luxury and what a rest ideal. In the evening there is a lot of entertainment for the guests.

Would you like to order a burger with fries around 02:00 at night? That is all possible and I did :) Wash me a delicious hamburger ..

Highly recommended to spend your days here in this resort.

Sometime wait to be seated in a restaurant of 45 minutes
Loud people thinking it's a 2nd spring break.
There is a night dress code that nobody tell you until the check-in.

Beautiful place, well maintained friendly atmosphere

Overall the hotel was incredibly well maintained, the food was very good at most of the restaurants (don t get the sushi), and the staff for the most part was very friendly. However, my girlfriend did have her phone stolen by someone on the staff (it was turned on at a local home in Mexico about 20 miles away).

What an AH-Mazing vacation! Every square inch of this resort is gorgeous and well kept! The staff was amazing and very friendly. They're extremely courteous and professional. The food, drinks, entertainment, and beach were just amazing. This place has definitely set the bar for future vacations. I cannot wait to return next year! Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya gave us the best vacation ever!

Was nice, but dressing up to the 9s for food anytime past 5 is crazy! I'd go back, if someone paid for me, but wouldn't spend the money again myself

I'll begin with I hardly ever stay at the same resort more than once but this is my 2nd time and I'll be there a 3rd time later in the summer. The Valentin Imperial is so fantastic, it's beautiful, clean and upscale the staff is so awesome, friendly and welcoming. It's an Adult Only All inclusive resort. From the time you step foot on the resort you're pampered, greeted with a warm towel to wash your hands before you enter the lavish Lobby which is enormous updated and richly furnished and smells delicious. You're given a glass of champagne while checking in and there's fresh fruit and cookies for you to nibble on. There are 7 restaurants to choose from and a breakfast buffet, a lunch buffet near the beach with everything you can think of, I haven't had a bad meal yet. The French & Italian restaurants are my favs. Drinks are delicious, there is so much to do you never need to leave the resort. The entertainment staff is vibrant and creative. There was bull riding, a foam party, at the pool. There's different water exercises daily. We did spin class in the pool which is awesome. There's swim up bar, tiki bar at the beach. The staff remembers your name and what you like to drink. Get the swim up room it's like your own private part of the pool if you want some quiet time to relax and float in the pool. There are floaties everywhere in the pool. I could go on and on but you'll have to experience it for yourself. The resort is large and the grounds are beautifully manicured you can get the golf cart to pick you and drop you off or if you walk around you learn shortcuts and definitely get in 10K +steps everyday. Oh forgot to mention the nightly party in the courtyard is fun and lively. There's always a great band first and then the DJ comes on and you get your party feet moving adding more steps to your tracker. There's also a gym, and bicycle tours. You just have to go and see for yourself. The rooms are large with a fully stocked fridge we had a bottle of champagne in fridge everyday along with snacks, water,beer, soda. and living room area also has a TV.
PLEASE PLEASE TIP ALL THE STAFF Daily they do a great job making your stay wonderful. Love this resort, it's worth the price.

The Valentin staff want you to have an amazing experience and do all that they can to exceed your expectations. The food is extraordinary as is the architecture of the facility. Many of The Valentin clientele are repeat visitors and now, I will be also!

Resort total luxury. All included, but it is totally aimed at the North American market. If you are Latino you can also stay ... No minors are allowed.

Incredible and expansive resort. Life changing vacation.

Excellent service, but almost exclusively US customers. Too windy to swim in the sea. Large swimming pool with two fairly well demarcated sectors between peaceful and active. Clientele mainly made up of couples aged 50+
No reservations required for restaurants.

Dora, and all others from the Go team were awesome, kept the energy up. The resort offers just about everything needed. No real reason to leave resort except to go home.

We just returned after 5 days of celebrating our honeymoon. Everything at the Valentin Imperial was perfect and beautiful. The staff were so kind and greeting each and everyday. Thank you with a big smile from the Simonyi's

It's a very nice, quite large resort hotel and the entire area is very beautiful. The food is very good and they have decent drinks. However there are many details which are lacking quite a bit. First and foremost the room service is not really good. Cleaning was incomplete every day. Used coffee mugs were not removed - not once, twice we didn't get water, trash was not removed reliably (empty bottles on the table were always ignored) and we had to ask for soap because we only got one set when we arrived and they didn't refill it by themselves. We complained once and it was fixed once. And continued as bad the next day. Also, we didn't have a do not disturb sign....many many details. The service in the restaurants is also a bit mixed. If you have a good waiter or waitress everything is great. But if you're unlucky you don't get water and wait forever for someone to take your order (we really liked Omar and Jamie from the French and Japanese place though. But there were others with good service as well). It's just inconsistent. I think they should improve staff training. The on site doctor (which I unfortunately had to use because I got a painful ear infection) was also very nice and helpful. But they charge a lot for this service (I paid like 300 USD plus the doctor's fee for antibiotics, ear drops and an injection). I would suggest to get any medication from an external pharmacy. They deliver to the front desk and it's a lot cheaper.

Excellent infrastructure but not safe. I have learned that several people experienced the same unpleasant experience of having their valuable items stolen from the hotel room.
I have now decided to report my case as my $20K USD wedding ring was stolen from the hotel room! With social media I am trying to stop this kind of events and ensure people truly enjoy their vacation.

Great all adult resort. The facilities are dated but it is very clean. Great day and evening entertainment. Evenings are restaurant only (no buffet) which is great. The beach is mostly restricted to "privileged", but the pool side is great!

This was our 2nd visit here and took back our whole family this time. Adult only resort with lots of amenities. You dont have to ever leave the resort to have a good time. Have eaten in most of the restaurants onsite and food is always awesome and the only one u need a reservation for is hibachi, all others are come when u like. The activities group is outstanding and work super hard at pleasing the guests. Every employee was very friendly and courteous and greeted us everytime we would see them. Rooms are spacious and clean with chocolates on our pillows with turn down service nightly. We felt that we definitely got our monies worth. We would recommend to family and friends and will probably go back again!

I thought I had found the place to have my wedding, but after reading the reviews I will not be having my wedding here! I am a lesbian and the things I read about how this place did gay couples is unbelievable!

Just returned from a long weekend here and had the best time! It's very low key, so not super crowded, which is what we were looking for but also still entertaining and relaxing. The main pool was awesome. Huge and the staff tries to keep everyone's entertaining up with music and tequila shots lol. Food was great and the resort is beautiful. Great service. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the wifi wasn't the best. It worked most of the time but not always in our room. Staff all wore masks and face shields. Mostly every area is open air so we did not feel the need to constantly wear our masks which was a nice break.
