Wonderful place we have been going for 6 years and always so enchanted. We are going back next year.

My wife and I stayed May 4th-11th 2019. We were in the Emerald junior suite ocean view room. This resort is absolutely beautiful. The food is amazing. Our favorite was the French and Hibachi. They are always maintaining the grounds. All the staff treat you very good. The main lobby has this orange flower smell that is amazing. We actually purchased the scent to bring home. This is the nicest all inclusive we have ever been to and we will be back. We ran into multiple couple that had been there 4,11 and 18 times! We highly recommend the Valentin Imperial Maya

Great beachfront rooms. Not overly crowded in December. Great buffet selections. My primary con is that the dinner menus haven't changed in several years in any of the restaurants. Very relaxing place for a getaway vacation.

The customer service has been spectacular. The staff not only meet, but also anticipate our needs. They all seem to genuinely be happy as well. The food and amenities are decent but not anything to rave about. The beach and the pool are breathtaking. And it is never too busy to find a couple of chairs. The worst part for my wife and I have been the other guests. Many of them are a bit rude and unaware that other may want to just relax and not hear their loud inebriated conversations. Overall a great experience. Would definitely come back.

This is a beautiful resort! The landscaping and architecture of the resort is very impressive and truly inspire relaxation in a luxurious ambiance. It was a little sketchy how they tried to get us to upgrade right away by saying all the standard rooms with single beds where booked all that was left where rooms with two double size beds. My wife and I had already decided to upgrade anyways so it wasn't too big of a deal. The rooms are a decent size, good tv with cable. The wifi is great! Accessible throughout the grounds. Not too much privacy with the bathroom but overall it was a great room. Restaurants were top notch! Ppl really dressed up in the evening and made everything seem really classy. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The live band was very talented and entertaining. The excursions were easy to set up with the BD rep. We did the Coba Mayan encounter. Long day but fun, with zip lining, kayaking, cenote swimming and rappelling followed by trip to Coba. The only part that we did not like was the "free" excursion into Playa del Carmen. The BD rep totally misled us, the excursion is paid for by a Jewelry store with that catch that you get driven there first and have to spend 90 mins there. Followed by 25 mins at a glass blowing factory and then a drive into the city. Save your time and pay for the shuttle into the city!

It was the most relaxing and luxurious stay at any establishment I have been on. My husband and I went for our honeymoon. The staff was beyond pleasant, overly helpful, and selflessly kind and eager to please. Rhe establishment was extremely well kept, clean, and the landscaping was gorgeous. The events were lively and fun. The atmosphere was relaxing and calming. Will visit again in the very near future!

Loved this place for our honeymoon. Definitely has a romantic, quite vibe, so if you are looking for that, this is perfect. BEAUTIFUL grounds. Everything is spaced out and feels very private. Liked the restaurants and the main pool area a lot. Can't wait to go back!

Unfortunately, we cannot understand the many top ratings. Our expectations were high, according to the 5 stars and the price. We definitely won't be back and can't recommend it.

The natural area is very beautiful and well-kept! All drinks except wine bottles are included. The beach is well-kept but you have to hurry to get chairs. YOGA with Angy was great !!!

Room: bathroom without window, very humid, had cockroaches in the shower (could change the room on our part, but still not a nice experience). The rooms are very noisy, my partner could only sleep in stages. You can hear the conversations (etc.) from the neighboring room clearly. Several times at night there was a loud argument in the hallway.
The beds are very soft. Not so ideal for us. The sheet had yellow stains, the blanket was full of holes and was not replaced despite a request. A bit exhausting everything and unfortunately no star level.

The beach is partly covered with seaweed. There are 1st and 2nd class loungers. For the guests who do not book PRIORITY, there are the 2nd class loungers, which you should occupy before breakfast, otherwise you will get nothing!
The main pool is very noisy. We weren't there.

The quality of the food in the restaurants varies. Generally very sweet and a lot, not good or very good quality. The evening meals in the restaurant are particularly disappointing. The French was the only restaurant that was good. Service from oman was great. At lunchtime there is a fresh salad bar and a grill station + but overall a large mass processing. Please don't expect too much; but if you want burger, french fries and ready-made guacamole, you will be happy. The staff is friendly, but usually only understands half.

No Mexico flair. The hotel could be in Florida or anywhere else ...

The grounds are beautiful, and the the room and service were unmatched! It is located in between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, so any outside activities require transportation, but there is enough to do, that you could never leave the hotel.

Large resort with a lot of amenities. Easy to get a drink or food. Room service is 24-7 and you can walk to or book a complimentary golf cart to anywhere on the resort. Crowd is mostly late 20s to late 40s.

Going to miss this place, came here twice in 2018 & 19,
Were due to arrive in April 2020 but Thomas Cook ceased to trade. Aahhh well, will have to find some other way of getting there. To people thinking of coming here, don't hesitate, me and the wife love everything about it

LOVED this resort! The service was fabulous, the food was fantastic, and the number of activities were wonderful! The bike ride around the facility was so much fun, exercise classes every day were great, and the gym was a very nice facility. I could not believe how many people we talked to were return guests at VIM - that says a lot!

The hotel grounds and gardens are absolutely beautiful and perfectly maintained, love the wildlife.
The staff was friendly, big shout out to Noemi and Omar our waiter's.
Food was ok but nothing special, we had much better on our other trips to Mexico.
We really miss the buffet option for dinner.

but are on the edge of disrepair and being worn, we stayed in a emerald suite.
The beach was pretty clean but not that great looking compare to other beaches in mexico, to much coral/rocks and not enough palm trees.
Big disappointment no foam party while we was there.We stayed there for 10 days.

The grounds are beautiful, the staff is amazing. Plenty of resorts have all the beverages and food you want, but I doubt they all tell you "Welcome Home" as soon as you arrive. We can't wait to go back.

I was sent to go review at the Valentine Hotel the circus show in and entertainment staff. I must say I was really impressed by the way the entire staff presented themselves and the activities. The circus it was an outstanding performance with various artists and overall a great time.

Amazing resort. Great food, staff was friendly and a very relaxing trip overall.
Would definitely come back here again. Even during this global health crisis, I felt safer here than at home the US should take a couple tips from this place

This place is spectacular!! Beautiful beaches, amazing food, great pools, and an awesome staff. The rooms.were quite nice and you didn't get constantly harassed for tips. I will certainly be back! I cannot rate this resort highly enough. I absolutely reccomends!

One of the best all-inclusive "resorts" on the Riviera Maya. The departure room is a junior suite and there are 6 levels thereafter. We took the very comfortable basic suite, bedroom-living room with separate bathroom and balcony. The service is extraordinary, impeccable. Better still the damn bracelet! The beach is huge compared to 5 Azul and TRS. the decor is iberico-mexican but not rococo! I recommend without reservation. Note the rooms can be noisy, ground floor to avoid. Wifi is variable. To have a place at the swimming pool you have to "reserve" (towel on deckchairs) early and the music at the main swimming pool can be deafening.
Note to the hotel: if you take the trouble to answer I ask you at least to read the comment!

Visited for a wedding. This was my first all inclusive resort experience. And it was fantastic, restaurants are great, unlimited drinks. Jacuzzi in my room!

Had a blast swim up room it was a great decision. Breakfast was delicious, the rest of the menu really leans more towards fine dining and I'm more a casual diner but it was good.

We absolutely LOVE it here! This is our third time visiting and we are even hosting our wedding here! There are a large variety of restaurants and bars to go to so there os something for everyone. The beach is always clean and staff are always friendly. Everything is always perfect!

We stayed here for our 20 year Anniversary and it was amazing! Everything from the service, resort, entertainment and food was excellent!

A very nice resort. The food was good. Nice place to rekindled love and have fun! More shuttles are needed around the property. Over all it was nice.

2nd Visit Did Not Disappoint!- Jim and I stayed in a Silver Junior Suite for our 2nd visit- Sept. 10-17. Once again, the resort was beautiful, the food excellent, but what I really want to do is single out a few employees for exemplary customer service. Carlos, the Consierge in Bldg. #2- anything we needed or asked, he got for us immediately. At Mar y Tierra- shout-outs to waiters William and Carlos! And at La Marche Buffet - special mention to Jose and Manuel- but an even bigger shout out and thank you to Darvelio at La Marche! This young man is an excellent example of what GREAT customer service is- we cannot say enough in praise of him! Our visit was thoroughly enjoyable and we cannot WAIT to return!

Expectacular venue with numerous restaurants.The Japanese restaurant the best. There are reserved where the cook cooks for 5 couples in front of them. The complex does not accept children under 18 years of age. There is no wiffi in the rooms.

This place is incredible! The staff here truly cares about your expeience and will go out of their way to ensure your are happy. The Junior Emerald room is secluded and spacious. If you are on the ground level you will have a private patio with hammock facing the beach where you can lounge and enjoy the ocean waves. The food is amazing! So delicious and the presentation is that of fine dining. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for rest and relaxation l. They have great day time events but not a huge party scene at night. So this is best fit for those looking for a little bit of party. This resort is definitely a little piece of paradise.

- even at full capacity, it doesn t feel crowded with little to no waiting at bars and restaurants
- excellent service by all staff- no reservations required for restaurants
- we really enjoyed the main court yard every evening; always a band and drinks
- loved the ice cream and churros!
- we enjoyed the entertainment (shows) put on every evening

Cons
- over all, I would rate the food a notch or two below other 4.5 and 5 star resorts we have visited (secrets, excellence).

Best trip we've been on so far. We've never stayed at a resort before, but everyone swore this place was the resort to stay. I would have to agree. You're treated like royalty. The grounds are clean and beautiful. There's wildlife around like birds and iguanas. The food is delicious and fancy. Bring a nice set of clothes because there's a dress code at a lot of the restaurants and bars. We upgraded to the emerald suite so we had a view of the beach. Depending on the time of year you go there can be a lot of seaweed on the beach, so look ahead if sitting at the beach is something you're trying to do. They have tours you can book from the hotel to go into town, see cenotes, pyramids, or under water life. I suggest doing the tours. You get transportation as well as a guide that can teach you a lot about the area. I would bring money to tip everyone. The drivers to and from the resort will have signs saying they appreciate it, but it's nice to throw a couple bucks at everyone. They're taking care of you the entire time. We will very likely be coming back and staying here.

Situated on the Riviera Maya and roughly forty minutes transfer from cancun airport the Valentin imperial Maya is a truly luxurious resort. From the moment you check in you are made to feel special. Nothing at all is too much trouble for the friendly welcoming staff. The quality of the food on offer in the themed restaurants is exceptional whether you are in the mood for Mexican, French, Japanese, French or surf and turf. If you like to laze by the pool drinking cocktails imperial Maya has two large pools to choose from, the main pool features activities throughout the day while the river style pool is pure tranquillity. The complex also has its own stretch of beach that is as beautifully maintained as the rest of the grounds. Some reviewers have commented on the size of the complex but this is not a problem it is a bonus, strolling through the grounds you stumble upon the local wildlife and there are information boards posted along the avenues to help you identify what you have just seen. Should you wish to explore the Mayan peninsula Valentin Maya offers the perfect base with Mayan ruins, cenotes, swimming with turtles, dolphins or whale sharks or coral reefs and the underwater museum and Isla mujeres all within easy reach. At the end of the day the Valentin offers nightly shows and a range of bars to relax in. All the staff work incredibly hard to keep The hotel spotless and beautiful and are always cheerful and pleased to help. (On a personal level Mario in Mar y Tierra/hacienda was The star of our vacation but cannot fault any of The staff from The gardeners and maid service to The waiters, restaurant and reception staff) The only disappointing thing about staying here is having to leave at the end of your vacation.

They would not refund my money when I cancelled my trip. My AARP/Expedia rep didn't say I wouldn't get a refund. AARP tried with hotel management, however they stated it is in the contract. I'm talking to a reservation person not looking at a contract. I have no doubt the resort is nice, but losing $1800.... I'll find another place to vacation.

One of the best resort I have visited till now. The receptionists were really helpful and friendly. Great staff who knew how to serve the customer.
very clean and clear water, a very good place to relax and chill.
The scenery was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment. The view of the sunset from that point was mesmerizing and the food was so good.
We were constantly greeted with a "hola" from everyone, at all times. Walking to the room, or to dinner or the pool or beach. Everyone was very friendly I just can t wait to come back to this amazing place where you feel like home.

Paradise, perfection, exceptional, amazing. My wife and I used these words over and over when visiting VIM. We just finished our 10 year anniversary trip and this was the best vacation we ve ever had! The resort is stunningly beautiful, every employee is incredibly kind, the food is delicious, and there s plenty to do on the grounds. We genuinely cannot wait to come back again next year for our 11 year anniversary!

Only my 2nd day here but so glad I came here for my birthday. The food is great, the drinks are tasty, and it's a gorgeous place.

Good resort, friendly staff, well kept grounds and clean rooms .... however the all inclusive alcoholic beverages we definitely watered down. I don t think I had a real drink from one of the bars the whole time I was there.

The food service for dinner is absolutely terrible. They did not state on the website when booking that you can not have holes in your jeans to eat in the restaurant. Myself and the TEN other people I was with could not eat in any of the restaurants because we had on jeans with a tiny slit at the knee and a polo shirt, or a button down with NO COLLAR!! They did not care, did not try to accommodate us and we were on our own for dinner. Go somewhere else!!!!!!!

3rd, an so not the last vacation at the Valentin! This place is so beautiful and relaxing. 5* service and amenities. The food is excellent with a broad selection. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The service, from start to finish, is exceptional. We have raved about the Valentin to friends and family. If you are disappointed there, then you are just incapable of appreciating life, comfort, beauty, service, food, and the ease of an all-inclusive resort!

We just finished our honeymoon here and it was wonderful! It is so beautiful, it blew our minds how gorgeous the grounds and rooms were.This was our first time at a resort in Mexico, it set the bar pretty high... The staff were very professional and respectful. The service was great, ladies you will feel like a princess! people open doors for you, pull out your chair, place your napkin on your lap and everything! (they never failed to do these thing...It was surreal!) The food was delicious and has a huge variety! We have a bit of a "warning" for the men out there...all the dinner restaurants follow a dress code, we were surprised by this and had to buy some shirts from the shopping centre. (our own fault for not looking into it )
Like I said the grounds are beautiful and always kept clean. The pool was great and had an unspoken separation of loud and fun and quite and relaxing sides, both with swim up bars! The beach is not far from the pools and is very nice, theres a swimming area where there are no rocks and coral.When we went is was a bit wavy for us so we spent a lot of our time in the "non" swimming areas where the coral meats the beach and it was the coolest thing! We were able to see little fish and enjoy the warm water! The beach had lots of chairs and some cabanas you can rent.

This place was amazing! So many different variety of foods and places to eat. Our room was always cleaned 2xs a day or more.. Our snack and drink bar was always refilled. Staff is always friendly and always ready to assist. This resort is beautiful! The beach was perfect, we swam almost everyday, and they bring you drinks on the beach. Room service was awesome! They have live music at nights, sports bar, and hookah lounge. My only request is to have a jukebox and dimmer lights in the sports bar. You will not regret it! They treat you like royalty... Such a blessed experience.

Very lovely resort. Spacious, well maintained, comfortable. I was a little disappointed with the staff. We were made to feel unwelcome when we arrived.

I cannot say enough about this resort. Everyone in this resort is absolutely focused on making everyone's stay the best vacation they ever had. The grounds are breathless...especially at night. The food is amazing, premium alcohol and rooms are beautiful and comfortable. We had the pleasure to meet some of the staff and they were absolutely amazing people. Veronica and Anna at the concerige room were friendly and accommodating to anything that we needed. Eric, the bell man was a pleasure to meet. He kept asking us how our stay was going and told us not to hesitate to call on him. Carlos and Jorge the bartenders at the activities pool were also amazing. We never had an empty glass in front of us. Pleasure to talk to. All the staff were friendly and always smiling. Thanks to all the chefs and wait service. Thanks to all the entertainment staff...you make people laugh and get them involved and encourage people to step out of the box and enjoy. So much energy. Thanks to the ground keepers for the beautiful scenery.
I cannot express enough how professional these people are and they pay very close attention...right down to the smallest detail.
I even had to make a visit to the doctor on the resort (to no fault of the resort). He was professional, quick and knowledgable. He had me in and out in no time.
This has been our third visit to the resort and every time we notice new things. They are right on top of things.

I do not recommend this place at all for a honeymoon, people skip all the rules, and the staff does not do anything. We wanted to enjoy the facilities and the site, and it is really impossible between so much drunk, it is not recommendable. The staff does not help either, since they do not tell them anything, so here they come to do what they want without respecting anyone.

Brilliant place. Had the best 2 weeks ever staying here last year. Just returned this year and it is just as brilliant.
Attention to guests is wonderful.
If you are looking for the ultimate all inclusive no kids holiday this is it.

This is a very beautiful place with beautiful people! We absolutely loved it!!!

Stayed October 24-31, food was very good, staff friendly. Our A/C in the room didn t work very well, neither did the A/C in the restaurants. Huge gap in door. Took along time to get drinks from the bars (I feel they were understaffed at times). Good resort if you are traveling with friends and don t want to spend a lot. Been to nicer resorts, won t be going back.

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon. We had a wonderful time! The entire place was gorgeous! The employees were so nice, and all of them worked so hard. The food was amazing too! My favorite was the sushi from the Japanese restaurant We loved everything about this resort.
