This is my second time at valentin Imperial and enjoying every minute of it. The food, drinks, and staff are great. The rooms are clean and we'll kept. Will definitely be returning again.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic. Our favorite south vacation of all time. The service is top notch, as is the food. We just came back from a cruise and we found the food was better than the cruise. The beach was very nice and the water was clear. The staff is great and we loved the entertainment (especially Dora). We definitely recommend this hotel. Very relaxing vacation.

Hard to find a better vacation resort in the Riviera Maya, Mexico !

Great experience, treated with utmost respect and were taken care of the whole time, only complaint was taking two days for a pillow top on our mattress and not being told about a charge prior to getting service in lounge.

Wonderful resort, one of the best we have been to in the Mayan. Super friendly staff that go well past expectations. Incredible landscaping and gardens, amazing food!

Food poisoning & poor customer service- beware

We were very excited to go to the Valentin Imperial Maya for our honeymoon. We read the reviews beforehand and they all seemed glowing. While we do agree that the grounds are beautiful and there is lots to do on the resort, we were really disappointed when my husband got severe food poisoning.

On the last day, my husband ordered a duck dish at the Ginger restaurant, and shortly after he was seriously sick and spent the rest of the night going to the toilet. The next day, he was still sick and was sick all the way back on our flight. It was a painful trip home. He still had diarrhea and even soiled his bed another day after that. In total, he was sick for 2.5 days due to food poisoning.

We wanted to give this resort the benefit of the doubt. We contacted the resort via email on September 13th and also mailed a letter of complaint. We heard no reply whatsoever. It has now been 16 days since my first email. While the food poisoning was very disappointing for a 5-star resort, the poor customer service was even worse. We did not recommend this resort to our friends going on honeymoon next year, and we do not recommend it to you unless you are O.K with the risk of food poisoning and no reply from the hotel afterwards. I rarely write poor reviews but I felt strongly about this one. Good luck.

The Swimming pools,plural, are extremely HOT not refreshing at all. Food is really good and the resort is absolutely beautiful, staff are wonderful, Beach is fantastic.

Although we have just arrived it's probably not fair to give a review based on the few days that we have been here. So far we are very pleased with the resort, the grounds, and the beautiful clean rooms. Compared to other resorts in this area we haven't been able to connect with staff and get to know them like our past experiences... It's early though. Very impressed with the quality of food at the restaurants as well as the buffet... So far so good.

We loved our time at VIM & look forward to coming back! The location was perfect, the rooms beautiful and clean and the service impeccable. The food at every restaurant we visited was consistently delicious and they were very helpful with food allergy needs. Lucia in activities and Barbara who ran the crossfit were fantastic! Our stay, though short was fantastic. We will be back!

This place is awesome! Second trip here has been as good as the first!!!

It is really beautiful here. The pool is big and clean. Unfortunately, too few beach chairs and shade places. The reservation of the beach chairs is actually prohibited but everyone and if you sleep a little longer then you will not find a beach more. The staff is super nice and helpful. Everything is nice and clean and everyone is looking forward to having a great holiday. We would come here again and again

I and my husband were in this resort at the end of 2016. I'd like to give some recommendations: in this 5 star resort:
No list with name of cocktails,
No device for drying swimming wear at the balcony,
No washcloths and sanitary bag in the bathroom,
No litter boxes near swimming pools,
No kit with thread and sewing needles.
It's better to have one buffet in the evening who does'n want to eat in the restaurants
It's too difficult to control light in the room
It's difficult to navigate through the territory of resort

We pinch pennies to stay at this resort, and it was well worth it. Trust me, you will have a great time and enjoy your stay. My wife and I were there for our honeymoon and felt like a King and Queen for 4 nights. Thank you Valentine Imperial for a great stay and making our honeymoon memorable. Food, service, spa, beach, and snorkeling excursion (Maya Adventure) all A+++

Top notch service, food and amenities. Adults only. A slight problem with seaweed on the beach but this no fault of their own. Daily clean up of seaweed with crew and tractor a bit of a nuisance. Too bad because this is really a beautiful resort. Highly recommended. Would like to return.

This was our first resort and we couldn't be happier. The accommodations were great. The resort was spread out so it didn't feel crowded. The restaurants were great and the drinks plentiful. They had XX lager and amber, Coors light, bud light, and Bohemia for beer. Bring an insulated cup or mug for your drinks.

This resort is incredible. The restaurants and bars have excellent service, the rooms, pools, and beach are pristine, and staying here has made for an excellent vacation.

We visited in August 2019 after my husband had been living in another country on a work assignment for a YEAR. We desperately needed some R&R and it happened to be our 8th wedding anniversary. This was the PERFECT spot. We're regular visitors to the amazing country of Mexico. We love the culture, the people. Everything.

The Valentin was the perfect getaway for 7 days for my husband and I. We stayed in a ground Emerald suite facing our own private beach with a hammock on the spacious porch. A BEAUTIFUL hot tub with ocean views. Honestly it was heaven. The room service is included and spectacular. We spent alot of time in our room because it was incredibly hot. 104+ the whole time. Which was fine because the room had a private beach to keep us entertained and the hot tub we used ALL DAY. When we weren't in our room, we were on the AMAZING beach under a palapa with a drink.

The pools are BEAUTIFUL, but this was my least favorite part. We didn't get into the pools much because they were incredibly hot. Hotter than the ocean water. Not refreshing at all, but it's August in the Caribbean. What are you gonna do? Didn't take away from the experience at all.

The service is amazing! They really care about your needs and are so friendly. Alfonso is hilarious and we definitely made a friend for life. It's so clean, the drinks are fantastic. Really not enough good things to say about this place and the amazing individuals who work here.

Definitely coming back. Recommending every single person I know to come here. Seriously the best vacation we've ever had.

I have been to other resorts and out of all the resorts this one is the top resort out of all I have been to. The presentation is beautiful, every view you have is photo worthy. The grounds from the entrance to all extremities are beautiful. The up keep is on a daily and the work that is done to the resort wether it be to rooms or other buildings is done in a professional way. No bandaids. The people who work for the resort are very professional, happy to work there, and nice people. I didn t feel the need to concern my self with any of my personal items in my room. The shows and choice of entertainers was very professional. In my observations you can see that they worked hard to put the show together. The cleanliness is spot on. I truly feel this resort by far the best in aspects. Our Concierge was wonderful, always an open ear to communicate with and very good at what she does . Build 11. I have consistently recommended Valentin Imperial since my first stay and I will continue to recommend this resort!

Absolutely spectacular! My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon here, and it s been the best week of our lives. The room was spectacular and they kept it immaculate, with our mini fridge always full. The grounds are beautiful, and they smell as clean as they look. It s also super cool that there are iguanas, birds, and other wildlife roaming the grounds. We really appreciated how environmentally conscious they are and how they integrated Mexico s natural beauty into the resort.
The staff is beyond friendly! Everyone smiles and greets you as you walk by, and you truly feel like family. We had the pleasure of having Erik escort us to our room the first night, and when we saw him days later he remembered us by name! We will DEFINITELY be coming back! Thank you for such a beautiful experience!

I loved the level of customer service and attention. The rooms are modern and elegant.

Customer service was horrible for an all inclusive 5 star resort. I ve been to Mexico numerous times at other resorts, and this one was by far the worst. I would recommend the Barcelo maya palace, you will definitely have a much better experience there. I did voice my concerns to the managers, here who basically informed me I needed to write an email.

This hotel is dangerous. Our room's bathroom sink fell on my wife's foot and fractured two toes when smashing on them. The hotel management denied any responsibility. All medical and assistance costs had to be claimed from the insurance. The hotel has refused to provide any compensation. Our long awaited vacation has been seriously affected since my wife could not walk without pain for the whole stay.

The place was great, for the most part. They like to enforce dress codes, so make sure you read what each restaurant's dress code is and be sure to pack what you'll need. My only complaint was all the smoking. There are people smoking inside the pool ALL DAY LONG, so can't even enjoy fresh air in the pool. In the evening, they have activites in the plaza, and there are plenty of people smoking there, as well. We went to the Italian restaurant last night, there was a whole group of people smoking right at the door. The smell of cigarette smoke makes my head hurt, so it's made for a somewhat uncomfortable time. This would be one of the main reasons I don't return. They should have designated smoking areas and enforce those, just like they do the dress code.

This is a quiet, relaxing resort that offers beautiful natural grounds and inviting accommodations. Seems great for more affluent guests celebrating anniversaries or life milestones. The grounds are a haven for local wildlife and the beach has palm trees on it and is lovely.

One of the best holidays Ive ever had ! Amazing resort that has everything you want from a relaxing beach holiday... They had amazing Mexican food but so many other restaurants to choose from! The beach is lovely with bar service... and you can rent a kayak for a paddle on the water.

The swimming pools were greag with in pool bars... and also the water spinning classes were well needed after all the eating and drinking ! The ice cream for those hot days were epic!

Staff are all super friendly and I would highly recommend going!

Wife and I are planning a trip here .Reading through some of the bad reviews how can numerous people have their property stolen out of their safes?Makes me wonder if we should reconsider. We want to have a good time and feel safe doing so.

Great care!!!! Do not be fooled by offering them a room upgrade you end up paying double your reservation AND you still have the same conditions as in the previous room, it is more you are farther away from the lobby than your normal rooms

We came for our honeymoon and they made it so special. The food was absolutely amazing, the drink menus were creative and innovative at every restaurant. There are so many optional activities during the day. We participated in rifle shooting, aqua zumba, and cooking lessons to name a few. The staff are so cheerful and helpful! We havent even left yet and we cant wait to come back. The rooms are beautiful and quiet. And oh my goodness, the night shows are spectacular. Definitely something for everyone! Well done Valentin!!

Expansive property. Wonderful setting. Great staff. Great food. Shuttle needed to go to restaurants from rooms.

Relaxed and easy going resort with good food options. Staff are attentive and keen to help and the evening entertainment is well worth a look. Don't miss the fire show. Main pool can get a bit loud, but it's usually possible to find a quieter spot. Shame that they have not managed to tackle the towels reserving everything in the shade by 8am problem. People see this rule is not enforced and so if you can't beat em join em.

The 5 star is for the staff! They were all so friendly and helpful. They all had great personalities and were willing to help out! A HUGE shout out to Maria (out waitress at our swim out Building 8 Room 108). She is the most amazing waitress. She is the hardest worker i have ever seen and she ALWAYS had a smile on her face and never stopped! We have traveled to many resorts and have always had great service, but Maria, by far, out does any other service provider ! Thank you Maria for all of your hard work and your great smile! We recently returned from Playa Del Carmen and we loved this resort. It was so easy and the people were all really nice. The beach was stunning and the weather cooperated most days! We will try to revisit Mexico again in the future!

The entire resort is beautiful, well maintained and Amazing. The staff and service are unbelievably friendly and helpful.

Mosquito Mosquito!! Beware, the hotel was built on mini everglades! mosquito will eat you at the beach, while eating and in your room! I got water flood in my room for two days, they only came two days after calling receptions multiple times!! When i asked compensation from the hotel management Mr. Jose Velasquez Vazquez, they say that they are not responsible for that !!! Good personnel who works there but un professional management!

Just returned from this resort VERY MUCH DISAPPOINTED food was average at best! Acomadations were nice,but found the resort was very difficult to navigate the building signs were small and placed in the ground at night almost impossible to see . The pool area was nice and clean,and the beach was also nice and clean. My main concern was the disappointment with the office check in staff they up sold us to a so called Gold suite, but not knowing the location the very end of the resort for another 350.00 . Our original building was near the pool area and restaurants perfect! You only get one chance to make a first impression and you did NOT A GOOD ONE we will never go back to the Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya!

Very very good food, well-kept area with large pools (both quiet and with party). Room spacious and chic. Staff friendly. The ambience lifted and really tasteful - best value for money. The level of entertainment was good (semi to -professional) and varied. We would go there anytime again.

This place is AWESOME! I cannot say enough about this place it was great, the people were fantastic. The pool was huge and the drinks were plenty and we met some of the nicest people you will ever meet. The place is huge and yet everything you need is close by when you need it. The staff treats everyone as if you are kings and queens. We spent a week there and enjoyed the staff and all the wonderful restaurants. There is so much food that you won t even need room service but if you do they are there for your late night snacks. We will definitely be going back very soon for a return trip. No kids so it s a great place for you and your wife to reconnect and spend quality time together.

Still here. The room is beautiful and the staff is excellent. The food is delicious. The only issue we had was checking in. We kept getting different answers as to when the room would be ready. My husband and I ended up spending close to an hour sitting in the lobby waiting for our room. This was definitely not how we wanted to spend the first day of our honeymoon. It was not until my husband and I approached the staff and spoke with anger that anything was done. After that incident, everything haa been great. The staff is extremely attentive and are always asking if we need anything. I would definitely recommend this resort!!
