Wow 6 years ago the VA doctors screwed up and it cost me leg. Now I sit with phantom pain and what are they doing nothing. Thanks yellow team and thank you trump I hope you guys get the same care from your health professionals
Look I don t give 5 stars very much but knowing the VA system across the country. This Hospital deserves these stars. Sure the one person we all meet from time to time messing it up most of the time. Here we have people who truly care to help us Veterans. Since day one that I have been here this VA group continue to impress me. I feel like I exist. It s not just a Job for them and I m thankful for them an the true compassion they reflect to me.
Thank you Washington for being better than most everyone else.
The staff here is simply amazing. The care, love, respect and compassion my father and our family experienced was simply amazing. He spent his final days at the hospital and I felt like we were surrounded by extended family. The support we all received will always help me to find peace in his passing.
The VA hospital staff in Seattle are knowledgeable and caring. I never feel rushed when I have an appointment and the nurses always take time to ask about my family and so does the doctor. The service is wonderful as well as timely. Although there have been complaints about the delay in service, I have never experienced any problems with getting an appointment or having the surgeries that were necessary to keep me in good health..
Va got my brother out of a not so nice nursing home and is helping him work to better himself after a stroke
There has got to be something said about the people that work at the Seattle V.A. Hospital. The Medical staff and volunteers are incredibly passionate--especially given incredible government constraints and budgets, constant construction, and probably one of the most unique and complicated set of patients, (read difficult).
Having had access to great, hi-tech, medical facilities, with other providers, I can honestly say that I trust this staff's vested interest in its patients, more than other systems.
Don't get me wrong, just as other patients there, I have had incredible difficulties with V.A. processes, wait times, inadequate resources, etc. (I am not certain how even Dora the Explorer could maintain a sense of "North/South/East/West" in this Hospital, but a "You are Here" floor map would certainly be more useful than "Go East!"
But given the fact that people /Volunteer/ and help me through this maze, gave me a cup of coffee, and a muffin to make this hike ... proves the sense of passion here, (and we love our hikes, here in Seattle ...)
As with all Veteran cases, always, get a second opinion. The V.A. "System" has a habit of taking at face value very old diagnoses from service. Just a few years ago, I "happened" to found out through another provider that the doctor's while I was in the service were wrong. After confirming it themselves, the V.A. Hospital quickly turned around and were able to help.
After correctly identifying the issue through another provider, the V.A. turned around quickly, very quickly, and responded with the help I needed.
I have accompanied a family member on two separate visits, one of which was the emergency department, other the primary care clinic. Everyone both visits that had any interaction with us were truly a delight. All were caring, kind, patient and absolutely helpful. The staff went beyond ensuring my family member was well taken care of. Because of the wonderful people here the two plus hour drive is well worth it. I could say the pharmacy is slow, however aren't all pharmacies :)
Slow, no consistency of care, and u make an appointment a day before they cancel and u wait another month. Another Phoenix just done differently
I am in earnest I will not equivocate I will not excuse I will not retract a single inch.
AND
I WILL BE HEARD
Denise Pritzl had me greeted in the parking lot of the VA medical center in Seattle, WA when I arrived to accuse Dr. Taner Demirer of raping me. She was demonstrative with a sick smile standing too close to my face as I stood in the VA directors office demanding a recording made of me without my consent. I never agreed to make a deposition of what happened to me after I was chased off the property by Hospital security and I never have divulged what happened to me when I was raped by Dr. Demirer in total and never at the VA hospital in Seattle. I suffered a seizure while he was raping me he was the first doctor to witness what I had been spending many hours sitting in the waiting room of the VA Seattle hospital, the lady at the counter yelled at me the first time I visited the Seattle VA hospital I never saw a doctor until after I was raped. When Denise Pritzl was blocking me in a really weird way I thought she was making a pass at me and I asked if she was gay she replied, "does that bother you" I said, no and I meant it; however, I am not gay and I was just so completely sickened by her behavior towards me and the VA director did nothing to protect me from Denise's obvious malicious behavior towards me. Some time later Denise suggested to help me I should go to a women veteran counselling group meeting, it was a group of homosexual women complaining about men in a way that I couldn't relate to really I was a victim of a very serious crime and no one wanted to take me serious and to this day I still have a hard time while I am reliving it. You would be better off shooting yourself in the head than asking for help from the staff of the Seattle VA Hospital.
I have received great care at VA Puget Sound from my primary physician, Dr. Scott Hagan, as well as from various specialty clinics like dermatology and audiology.
Good people. Have been treated well by all the staff
They op for the cheapest lidocane patches, and they don't work. I have asked for the proper brand and type but they deny every request saying that one type is the exact same when it's not. Now I can hardly walk because the hospital refuses to fill the proper prescriptions. I would like to mention that this is due to the review board and their in ability to make proper decisions in order to help their patients and veterans.
this place use harassment under the direction of the Director office. He allowed the Patient advocate and the customer service who work only for the director to cover up crime to include sexual assault harassment and holding of heart meds by his patient advocate office to force veterans from care he help his privacy offer cover up lies and even sends you letter to say that we try to contact letter so that the customer and patient advocate office can lie, because they do not have to help veterans with there problems and the customer server rep can harass veterans from the town meeting and there is no use to file a compliant cause the director office approves denial of care to veterans who are whistle blowers and protect employees who give out information on veterans so that they can get free rent. then tell you that you have to leave this VA so that the people who harass stay and you have to drive 37 miles out of your way to get care. I could not even get money back fro going to Seattle the ER room the patient advocate told me that she would not help me even the customer rep would not help me . I could not get help with dental even after 3 years of trying. and then someone put in paper work outside the VA even that was cancel when to fee services they just told me to go to a congressman when to patient advocate and the customer service rep the both told take care it myself so the So the director approve of helping veterans i guess he just wants veteran to kill themselves so that way he can protect abuse this is the Great VA hospital not happy unless the make veterans kill themselves
For sime veterans, Immensely I helpful, some just stabilize their conditions
I just had an unexpected 4 day 3 night stay in this facility and I can t praise their staff enough. I felt both cared for and respected to the upmost degree. The nurses and nurses assistants worked tirelessly to make sure I was as comfortable as possible, that I was given the patient care I needed and spared no efforts in professionalism and empathy. The doctors too, made me feel like i was being listened to and at no point ignored. I am thankful for everything they did for me when I was so sick and scared. Thank you so much Seattle VA Hospital.
My first time there. I was seen a few minutes BEFORE my scheduled appointment by an awesome doctor and was in and out in less than an hour. Great experience with the VA in Seattle!!
I want to personally thank the nurses and orderlies and Dr Murphy Ren Jake and Bill took great care of me when I fell and sought care at the emergency department . From the intake to release my care was seamless I could not thank them enough. The were up beat and friendly as well as professional. Dr Murphy sent me out for tests waited to have the test read and answered my concerns and referred me to primary care for a follow up. What a great resource we Vets have in Seattle
I love Linda Pike, is my doc. Awesome woman! Trust her with my life!
Stolen money out of the cashier's cage by insiders has been resolved by the new direct deposit system. Inpatients starve because of the food is stollen to feed the families of employees and kickbacks. It is a student run facility and doctors speak to the students not the patient. There is a constant firewall in front of your care.
Please do an audit of this clinic. Sitting here for hours at a time and waiting to be seen. Many of the employees do nothing but talk or hang out. But then at the same time one doctor, nurse, or staff would be working hard.
Been poisoning with medications I have been allergic to since 2015...doctors refuse to work with me and well laugh at me. Patient advocates don't return calls and have refuse to help so any problems. People in king county call me crazy and mentally to get away with the abuse done to me with false accusations and called the police to escort me out of the psych ward. Had a hand in ruining my repetition and defamation of character.
The primary doctors or team don't return phone calls or answer your questions on secure messaging they are not easy to get ahold of. Very frustrating system especially when you need answers
I am a proud Veteran and happy that's there's a good support & benefits system in place for our past and current Veterans who need help or might need help in the future. The lines are short, the staff are very friendly & helpful, lots of parking, great access to transportation, plethora of information, clean & inviting facilities and a great place to Connect with other Veterans to share information about Veterans benefits. The only negative is that the phone service doesn't work in the building and thsts there's no WiFi. Other than that this is truly a great facility. #localguides
DR,s ARE excellent.
This week of Feb 14 is the worst time i have had at this hospital Dr's are great about half the nurses are the worst i have ever seen.
TIP: To Avoid lines at VA Puget Sound Health Care System, the best time to visit is early mornings during the week. #localguides
Typical VA hospital. Even the VA rates it at 2 stars out of 5.
Excellent service and free from traffic congestion.
Will NEVER EVER go back to this place. Absolute criminals, I went in just to be safe as I was coming off of something and they decided to spring a ton of surprise bills into my visit that I didn't even know about until weeks later when I got them in the mail with no way to refute, THEN get refills I also didn't know I was getting, didn't want, and don't need, and billed. My first AND LAST trip to the VA just reinforces everything you hear about this worthless organization. Who knows how many more veteran suicides it will take for them to realize this isn't acceptable.
i have the best treatment at Seattle va when i was hospitalised there i have no complain
The VA employees are under tremendous pressure from the leadership, all the way to Congress, to do more with less. Therefore a great number of us Veterans feel like we are being neglected, disrespected, disregarded, or even discriminated. There are a few bad apples in the basket. The fact is these bad apples having great authority in the VA. They need to throw them out.
As most people have, I heard terrible things about medical care at VA facilities - not my experience at Seattle's VA Hospital. I recently broke my wrist and ended up needing surgery to have a plate implanted. A few short months later the scare is barely visible - a plastic surgeon expert job.
I could not have asked for better service. Sure you have to wait sometimes but that is care in the US. Try going to a civilian hospital for an walk-in emergency. GREAT SERVICE, AWESOME CARING STAFF.
You go for a doctor's appointment and the time they set they can't make it when set. They think the vet's have nothing to do. You get a window of one hour and they can't seem to have respect for others schedules. If i could give no stars i would....
They are not like the 1970s.They treat you like you matter.they really care.
I went to the VA in Seattle today for the first time (drove from Tacoma) and it was rather pleasant. They have a parking garage with plenty of parking, helpful volunteers at the information desk and even though I was an hour and a half early for my MRI, Lou got me in immediately anyway. Saved me a TON of time. Lou was also very accommodating and made me feel at ease even though I am claustrophobic. On the way out I was going to get the name of the lady who checked me in (super nice and super helpful) but she was on the phone. I have heard of and had sub par experiences with the VA, but this visit was a breeze! Great job!
Waited 4 hours to be seen, dont know y they have an emergency room. SUCKS
I have been pleasantly surprised by the highly experienced doctors and overall level of competence and care provided at the Seattle VA hospital. Having barely survived a several month stay at an east-coast VA hospital circa 1970, (including being physically assaulted by a disgruntled military doc!), I'd avoided anything VA-related for 40 years. Frankly, I'd experienced better care at a third-world medical facility while working in S. America.
Ten years ago, a friend who knew of my earlier VA experience introduced me to her relative, a Seattle VA case manager. Still cautious, I initially only saw a PCP; now see several specialists as well. Several of 'my' specialists here also consult at the University of Washington. I like that the VA hospital is also a teaching facility, where experience and new techniques freely mingle.
If I could give them 6 stars I would!
The best help any veteran can you get or have with loving care all the time.
Great facility it's even better because Donald Trump is the Commander in Chief. People need to come to realize that Donald Trump is the Messiah he's like Jesus but only better. Hail to the Chief. If Hillary Clinton would have been in office she won the improved VA but probably would have got rid of a lot of people. You see the VA hospital is a great place to go if you're feeling sick unwanted are depressed. Always remember that that there is a friendly staff there to help out
As Veteran, it is not my duty, but my honor to do as much as I can to assist my fellow veterans in achieving and receiving their overdue benefits. HOOAH! 1SBCT 3RD BDE 2ND INFDIV S. KOREA & JBLM 2000-2003
Although it has its issues, I have been treated very well there. All of the doctors I've dealt with actually LISTEN and take my observations very seriously. They also respect my intelligence an explain everything in detail
My primary care physician (and specialists) CALLS ME if I send an electronic message with a problem that she thinks needs immediate attention. She will also double book me to make sure I'm seen quickly foe urgent conditions.
I've had THREE major surgeries in the past 3 years. that they couldn't do them at the VA. They didn't hesitate to send me to an outside provider
Cataract surgery, two days ago. Amazing procedure, amazing results. The people I encountered along the way, from the Docs on down, including all the volunteers along the way. equally amazing. I'd been to a couple other VA Hospitals, back in the 70's,
got kind of spooked. Scared hell out of me! So, I didn't go back for 35-40 years,
might just go back up in the woods, not come back for another 35-40 years, but,
for now , I'm thankful for the care, compassion, and dignity with which I was treated.
Always a wait for meds but it's all about expectations...
I greatly appreciate the PTSD
group classes. If one doesn't
understand the condition/
illness, it's very difficult to
cope or exist in the society
and world around us.
I was seen today and was shocked by the.outpouring of help and care provided to me.I served in the Army dental field for over ten years and was on the receiving end at this hospital. I'm truly grateful as the treatment was the best lve ever received in my time as a care
provider. I'm truly blessed
What kind of ER refuses to give a patient checked in waiting for a room a pillow & blanket?
Worst VA imaginable and I've been to Miami, Houston, Austin, Denver and Portland VAMC's. Fat, bald black guy in glasses at the front desk talked rudely to female patients, but not males (must not be a vet himself, scared of men who actually volunteered.) A liver transplant patient describing abdomen pain was left in the waiting room for over 2 hours, because of fatties being pumped out of the ER in less than 45 minutes due to "shortness of breath". Harborview got the patient in, in under 15 minutes which the Seattle VA will be paying for regardless. So since when are diabetic fatties trying to get Oxy (common scam) more important than an old man in wheelchair complaining of pain post surgery or a liver transplant patient complaining of abdominal pain?
This is absolutely the WORST VAMC in the USA I have been to. I don't know how they got money for renovations, the should be hiring actual medical PROFESSIONALS.
I was an inpatient here after my surgery...this VA is the best!! I have been treated with respect, kindness & above all they are beyond thoughtful. I am so glad I'm here verses being home alone recovering. Thank you God for this particular VA establishment!
The VA is getting better. It still lacks compassion. And I see a real need for the VA to be a Real Hospital. Also there's a real issue when it come,s to Service Connected Claim,s. The VA act,s like it,s been sued rather than helping the vet to win or make sure their claims are cleared so us vets can move on with our lives.
I moved to Seattle from Phoenix, where I received amazing care for over 8 years. I registered at Seattle VA and thought everything would transfer such as records and medication listings. Being that
its still VA, I honestly thought I'd receive the same level of care. Well, 9 weeks have come and gone, even did an escalation to the patient advocate and complaint to the director... And I still haven't been provided mental health care. SMH.
I now understand why Veterens rate Seattle VA as one of the worst.
We have been taking my father here for many years. The VA is different than other hospitals. There is a good vibe/feeling here and we have been very fortunate for Dad to get great care for several issues over the years. I trust the providers but as always make sure to be engaged, listen carefully and always be an advocate to assist the staff in delivering the best care possible.
Staffing is at minimum. Only interns and resident's.
My husband came into get stitches. We have been waiting over 4 hours to see a doctor and we are still waiting. All of our other experiences here have been great except for the emergency. This is just crazy. Way to thank our veterans.
I had an overnight test conducted in January and now its May 30th and I'm still waiting to find out the results. They keep coming up with excuses saying they lost it, they misplaced the results, also even said I never went to the study. Absolutely terrible service the VA is giving to Veterans.
I've been going to this clinic since 2008. I've never had a bad experience. Sometimes I won't go because I know an appt won't be set for a few weeks, so I also don't go for superfluous stuff. And I will go to the ER if I need something more immediate. Unfortunately that's more of an urgent care type stuff, but you just work with the system. Everyone I've dealt with here has always been professional and compassionate.
I have not had to deal with any other VA hospitals, but so far I have not had a problem with this one. My doctors have been awesome and got me taken care of real quick. Never had to wait more than a few days for an appointment.
They have updated and remodeled major portions of this hospital. It used to be just awful and pitiful.
They've taken care of me since VIETNAM .. NUFF SAID ...
It just awesome easy and had no problems got every thing done on time as things should of no surprises very professional clean top notch care
My dad, husband, and brother mostly have great care at VA Seattle. Waits can be challenging at times.
Seattle va spinal rehab saved my husband's life in 1987! Great hospital, great people working there!
Excellent service,excellent treatment,excellent staff.
Thank you for taking care of us all!!!
I could not even imagine doing the work these people do all day long to help others.
I've needed to have an ultrasound done on a lump in my chest. I've called once a day for four weeks now, and no one has answered the phone or returned my call.
I promise you, if this is lymphoma and it kills me, I will haunt you.
VA awesome doctors are explaining everything. Going in for lung cancer surgery.
The Seattle VA hospital provides a full range of medical service including emergency treatment. Scheduling can be difficult and take time. Traffic through Seattle is also problematic. That said, the VA hospital is a valuable resource for qualified veterans.
