Love this place. Good wine selection. Prices are reasonable. Good food w quality ingredients, prepared, and plated well. And options for the carnivore or vegan.

Interesting small plate menu, unique wine tasting menu, & good service. Busy but not loud or rushed. Great way to spend time with friends or date. Indoor & outdoor seating.

I just called the restaurant asking for table for two and the lady hung up on me. So we walked to the place and requested the hostess for a table and also mentioned that someone disconnected the phone in the middle of our conversation. No acknowledgment. We were asked to wait for 15 min. It was clear that the hostess had no intention of seating us and said very rudely 'I cannot ask people to leave.' At which point we left. I was shocked with her hostile behavior. I am not sure why this restaurant is still in the hospitality business.

Excellent place! If you want to see how they prepare the food (very entertaining) sit in front of the kitchen. If you're in a romantic mood, sit under the tree. Parking in the rear too. Can't say enough about this place. Always a great experience!

Delicious, complex flavors for sharing. One of the best places to eat in all the Bay Area, linen service in a more comfy environment. For dates and special occasions, awesome cocktails too.

Good place. Generally supper crowded, but worked well for me and a friend going for a quick bite and a drink around 8:30pm.

Surprisingly beautiful! Visit during good weather so you can sit under the gigantic oak tree in the back surrounded by a lush garden. The small plates system is fun, but adds up quickly. Good food, unexpected flavors.

Food was wonderful. Vibe and decor was inviting, rustic, and provided the perfect intimate setting.

Not only do the dishes appear delicious, they are. Service was quick as well as attentive. Wide choice of different flavors (all 4) were delightful.

Friendly staff, great service, good food, but over-priced. Perfect place if you're not hungry or resign yourself to spending a lot especially if you include a couple of drinks. Tables are close together so don't expect a lot of conversation privacy. Not a good place for a first date.

Food is great and service is good. We arrived about 15 minutes after opening on a Saturday and were seated outside immediately. We ordered one of the white wine flights, the cheese plate, crab cake, asparagus and burger. All were delicious and the overall experience was nice and a first for us. The wine flight was interesting and fun and we'll definitely come back to try more. The crab cake really stood out from the other delicious food.

The only area of improvement was the long wait after we got our cheese plate. Food came after the wait staff noticed is sitting around and came over to say the food is coming soon. We were not in a hurry so not a big deal. We had a great time and will come back!

Good service, good wine good food. I would hi back if someone really wanted to go there.

Wonderful atmosphere, a varied menu of tapas that comes out of the kitchen fast and hot, great serving staff, and an amazing wine list.

There are probably 2 restaurants downtown I would go to time and time again. Thank you va de vi for bringing sophisticated and simply delicious food to downtown - seriously. The truffle treviso risotto.........!!!!!! And they have so many red and white wine flights. This place is truly special!

I went there twice in 2 weeks actually. They have a nice outdoor patio under a giant Oak tree. I thought the waiters were not nice at all the first time, and good the second time. The first time I went it for my best friend's birthday. We were 2 women. I had told them that in the reservation which I had made 2 weeks before.. They shoved us on the path leading to the pretty area. The table and chairs were uneven and wobbled. They ignored us completely for 1/2 hour, when I flagged down a waiter and said, "excuse me, but could you send our waiter over please?" He said, "I am your waiter". They offer "small plates" there. . She had ordered a taco, which was actually small, and I ordered roasted beet salad. .. The beets were good EXCEPT they were covered with an IMMESE sour cream and cheese type topping. It completely smothered the beets and was so rich it was actually gross. It was about 2500 calories. I tried to scrape off as much as I could, but it was like slime. Then, I order a slice of cake for my friend, carrot cake. We were given a tiny piece, which was fine with me. Then, minutes later a giant piece of carrot cake was plopped down in front of us. We were confused, and I wanted to ask the waiter about it. We waited and waited and finally went looking for him. I was told that the small piece was gratis and it was because I had told them it was her birthday. That was very nice of them! If only they had explained when we ordered that we were already about to get that same cake. They never explained. I asked them to take back the second piece but they did not want to, and although we never touched it. Finally they did. Overall however, not fun. the second time was so much better. We were two couples who were seated t in a nice location. I ordered a squid salad but it was rubbery and weird tasting. The risotto looked good. The duck confit was dry and hard to eat. The smoked pork shoulder looked decent. Uneven experiences.

We went to Va de Vi during a busy night without reservations but we were seated within 20 minutes. From that point, everything was incredible. We ordered food and the Staff's Pick flight. Everything was delivered quickly and was incredibly delicious. Service was excellent.

I love ambiance and this place certainly delivers. The food is good too, but a little expensive.

Great variety of dishes from mac n cheese to mussels. They don't have a happy hour but their drink list is pretty good, go for the tequila old fashion.

One of my favorite restaurants in Walnut Creek. Everything is delicious and there hasn t been one thing I ve not thought was amazing.

This is actually the only restaurant in downtown WC that I've been to twice. Great variety of small dishes to choose from and one of the few nice places in the area that's worth the price.

Excellent food, and great atmosphere! Great place for a date night :)
