Awesome experience! Great zoo, we will definitely return!
It is a great place to have fun, it is very nice and pleasant to be there.
They have great exhibits. They have great water stations to cool off.
Awesome setup and creatively out together and helps with the viewing experience of the animals.
The zoo is such an awesome experience! It has changed so much since I was a kid and has gotten more educational and fun!
Very child-friendly venue. From the train, to the carousel, to Splash Pad. Animals and ice cream at every turn.
The animals seem to be exceptionally well cared for. Their water is fresh and flowing. Been to other zoos and this is not always the case.
Get there early in the summertime to beat the heat.
It was zoo brew when we went, fantastic. Great idea they sold local beer and wine which is so great. Amazing
We went during spring break on probably the coldest day of the week. This meant the animals were a bit more lethargic than normal I think. I've been to the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Safari Park and Hogle Zoo doesn't really hold a candle to either of them, but that's to be expected. It's a small zoo that has all four seasons and for animals that are used to being in warmer climes, it may be a bit tough.
One nice thing about the size is, even with it being fairly busy, you could walk the length of the park in 15 minutes. There are numerous little restaurants like The Beastro. They had great smelling food. Not sure about the taste as we brought our own lunch. There were quite a few places we could sit down at a table to eat our brown bagged lunch, no problems.
Another nice thing about the size is if you get separated from anyone in your group, it doesn't take long to reconnect. My young son got separated from us for a few minutes until we found him nearby, already being helped by park security and other parents. He wasn't far away. And he was only one of three kids I saw that had gotten separated from their group. So, take note. Make sure you keep track of your kids, and make sure they know your number and what to do if they get separated from you.
Hogle Zoo is a good small place for a trial run before you go to a large amusement park.
There's not great mobile data in the area as my wife found out when she couldn't connect to up a bid on eBay and lost the auction, but there is a decent phone signal (I was using T-Mobile).
I've been to Hogle Zoo a lot. It is a great place to take kids, dates or just alone time. It is a small zoo, but has many places to get food and treats. The facilities are clean. The are tupical zoo animals; elephants, Lions, Tigers, Zebras etc, but favourite areas are the Red Panda and Polar Bears exhibits. It is a small zoo, but it is a great way to spend an afternoon in Utah.
Solid zoo. Was not too busy on a Sunday morning. Lots of the amenities were closed when we went.
Great family time. Took my 4 year old granddaughter. She had a fun time. Animals are easy to see. The train ride and carousel are nice. The bird show is FANTASTIC.
We visited the zoo on our family vacation. It was a very nice zoo. Everything was managed well with the social distancing and masks. We enjoyed the exhibits and feeding the giraffe. We all got a kick out of the canned water.
Beautiful cats in the Asian Highlands. The new cub is growing so quickly. The great variety of cats are beautiful to see. I love that as the weather is cooler, the cats are a little more active during the day.
Why open it at all if it's only 1/2 or 1/4 open!? Free waste of time!
Just wish some exhibits were bigger, feel like animals deserve more. But you can tell they try. I also wish they had more pieces educating the Public about animals, such as orangatangs and palm oil; San Diego zoo does that and I think it's a brilliant idea.
I love taking my kids to the zoo and letting them see and learn about all of the animals. If you go when they have the bird show I definitely recommend that and if you have kids there is an amazing play area for them along with all of the animal exhibits.
Hogle Zoo has an impressive collection of animals, and they've worked hard to create enclosures that are full of enrichment opportunities for them all. They also provide a lot of excellent educational opportunities. I especially enjoyed the bird show--it's very good and highly entertaining! It's a bit on the expensive side, but well worth what you pay. The biggest frustration is parking--even with a huge lot, we had trouble finding a parking spot.
The animals was well treated. I liked the bird show. The zoo was very clean
Always have fun here.... I still miss the old set up though.
They seem to keep downsizing at this zoo. When I went growing up, I remember many more animals and exhibits, like hippos and a butterfly house. The main part of the zoo now is a big open area with safari animals in the same space. It's still interesting because it's a zoo and there are always things to learn, but I was disappointed with the lack of exhibits. It wasn't worth the money to me.
Can wait until it warms up and the animals are more active.
Quite expensive for half a day's worth of zoo exhibits. But I paid happily though because I'm hoping they will use the money to expand the zoo animals and their enclosures. You can see the whole zoo in only 1-2 hours, but plan on spending ample time around the animals: lions, polar bears, zebras, elephants, sea lions, gorillas, seals, and tons of smaller animals. The sparsely populated aviary was very pleasant to be in during the warmer hours of the day. Visiting most larger enclosures 2 times during your visit will give you a better chance of seeing animals in different actions. During hotter days, most seek shelter and can't be seen occasionally. This is absolutely normal. Plan to feed the giraffes, during one of their 2 or 3 feeding times. (Small extra cost) Their prices for water, drinks, snowcones are CRAZY!! Food prices seemed ok for a typical zoo, but we waited and went to a restaurant after our visit. The grizzly bears were the best exhibit to watch for an extended time, because they were extremely playful and loved splashing in the water. We spent a large portion of our time watching them. Try to pack a lunch and drinks if you go. I doubt drinks are allowed to be carried into the park but you'll save a huge amount of money if you have some in your car, before and after your visit.
I took my grandson. It was a fun day. We finished with the train ride.
Good zoo Just dont Go on winter, the animal are always sleeping.
Cute zoo. Nice exhibits. Family Friendly. A nice place to visit...I stayed about 2 hours and that was a good amount of time. The food from the Beastro was delish!
There have been serious renovations since my childhood days at this zoo. All positive. Any time spent here is a blast for kids, whether the animals are up and active or not. There is enough shade that you can walk the entire zoo and not roast. I personally love the indoor exhibits with the sea animals. The playful otters were a big hit. I recommend a trip in the fall or for the holiday events they have!
I love being able to watch the animals and reading various facts about them. The shows are also a great way to learn more.
Although the zoo is growing at an exponential rate, the shops and displays appear to be taking up the majority of the room.
Still, a day of fun and exercise for the family couldn t have been better planned. The workers stopped to fix the Great Horned Owl s vapor mister and had cups of water for the guests. Going above and beyond the call of duty is nothing unusual for Hogle Zoo.
Nice zoo a little hard for parking but a good family place to go to.
Went for zoo lights it was a blast and the amount of people there was perfect for the crazy year that 2030 has been. Will definitely go back next year.
Awesome how for the months of December and November every Wednesday was free it was awesome
We decided to visit the zoo since we had some time to kill before our flight. It is a smaller zoo but it s an amazing zoo. It s AZA accredited. You can see the animals up close which is awesome. The animals have nice enclosures and seem to have plenty of space. The price we felt was very reasonable.
We love this zoo! I have been coming since I was a kid. And now I get to take my kids. They always have so much fun seeing all the animals.
This was our first time doing zoo lights and I must say it was truly magical. On top of the gorgeous displays, and all the animals in a different setting, the line to see Santa was basically non existent. Just a great all around time whether with kids or adults.
We loved the zoo! The shows were great, and there was plenty to entertain us for a few hours.
Small but well kept. The animals all appeared healthy and well cared for!
Music themed to the areas of the enclosures. So much fun for families. Don't miss the train ride!
Boo lights was so fun! We were able see a bunch of animals!
Hogle Zoo needs to do something about there parking especially on a busy days also..
Good placement of exhibits and utilization of real estate.
It was warm, but there were animals as promised. Eat your veggies.
I haven't been there in 20 years, and I'm going to purchase a season pass.
Amazing grounds, great zoo, everyone should go, with or without the kids. You don't have to be a child to love the zoo.
The zoo is always fun! They take excellent care of the animals and take great strides to make sure the animals are happy.
Great zoo experience. Nice amenities like a small train ride and a carousel. Also they have a play area that even includes a splash pad for the summer time fun.
Great variety of animals and it's accredited but it's in need of some renovations.
So much better than it used to be. They take great care of their animals. See the lions, giraffe's, and more. Clean, safe and kid friendly! Very educational!
Animals were active. New Bugzilla themes and animatrons are cool; but did my tax dollars go into new animatrons, which should have gone into the animals and exhibits? Family always likes to visit. Exciting polar bears were not there, disappointed. The bistro is nice.
It's always fun to go to the zoo with a lot to see and do.
GREAT PLACE AND BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS! THE ZOO IS JUST THE RIGHT SIZE TO SEE EVERYTHING! I REALLY ENJOYED EVEN PACKED WITH A CROWD FOR FREE ADMISSIONS DAY! PARKING WAS HELL THO!
This is a perfect family size Zoo. It's possible to visit there in a couple of hours, and you can avoid feeling exhausted like you do at the large Mega shoes. It lacks some of the variety of the large zoos, but it is a lot of fun to do with a small family. Kids love the Carousel and the zoo train especially. It's a great place in all seasons.
Fantastic place to take a break from the daily grind and enjoy the beauty of some amazing animals.
The Hogle Zoo has been working on improving the environment the animals live in for years, all that work has paid off. It's animals are well cared for , and have successfully bred many animals. So every year there are new babies to enjoy.
No discounts available for fieldtrips... "At this time we are not offering any discounts at all to anyone". Which is all fine and good, except the park is not operating at 100%. They're charging for 100% but there are no concessions open, several of the animals are not available. They've closed all of their play places for kids. I was very disappointed. And on top of it all they require use of masks while outside.
The zoo seams so crowded and it is way to expensive.
I went here for the christmas lights and I loved it. I'll defintly be coming back next christmas for them. It was fun to see some all the differnt lights and I loved that a lot of them moved or represented the animals there. It was definitely a lot fancier than I thought I was going to be, so I'm glad i went. I also enjoyed the free daytime pass so we were able to come back another day and see the rest of the animals. It was fun.
Wish they had more variety of food options. Showcase local foods. Allow food trucks in.
First time at the nighttime Zoo lights and I'll never forget my experience!! I'm going to try and make it a yearly family visit. I was with my daughter and granddaughter and next year with my whole family.
Ever since they improved the Zoo, it looks amazing. They really do try to involve the entire family with different events and activities. Even though the Zoo is relatively small compare to other Zoos, they still have a great selection of animals and other creatures to look at and learn about. Great place for the family/friend events. It is a bit pricey so beware of that. My advice is to get a membership, it ll save you money in the long run, if you plan on returning multiple times like my family and I have. You also get discounts as a member.
Perfect weather. Lovely shady spots to rest. Animals active. Grandchildren delighted.
We had a great time at Zoo lights. Plan to go back again.
It was nice, wasn't to crowded and now they have rest areas that spray mist to help keep you cool. Food and merchandise is still pretty costly but worth the trip
Some animals are not adjusted to the wild. Some need human care and attention.
