The zoo is pretty cool. It is expensive and somewhat small though. The food and everything else is expensive as well, but it's a non-profit so that makes sense. The zoo is kinda small, but has some awesome animals still (wolves, tigers, leopards, bears, bald eagles, rhinos, etc).

Interesting to see how this place is evolving through the years. I like how the new exhibit spaces give better access to the animals, even though it means there seem to be fewer animals overall.

Utah zoo is amazing! So well kept! Doesn't smell like most zoos in the parking is great right in front of the building. The animals actually seemed happy and well cared for! Go Hogle!!

I had relatively low expectations seeing that this is in Utah and I have been to the San Diego Zoo.
I was very pleasantly surprised! It is a smallish zoo, but is wonderfully maintained and all the animals look well cared for and, when I saw it, the animals also had a great rapport with the zoo staff!
I felt like the price of food was a bit high; however, if it goes towards maintaining the facility and caring for the animals it is worth it. I loved that there was a splash pad and dry park for the kids. There were plenty of water fountains throughout the park so I didn't feel forced into buying a drink.
My kids loved the carousel, the Zoofari Express train, and being able to feed the giraffes!
I loved the reclaimed recycling art throughout the park. Also, I loved that they had animal-painted art for sale in the gift shop!! And the staff spoke so lovingly of the animals who did the painting and were able to explain to us how they could tell who painted what based on the brush strokes! There's a lot of love at the Hogel Zoo!
I will happily return to the Hogel Zoo. Thank you for a great experience!

I really enjoy the Hogle Zoo. I feel like the animals are well cared for (which is the first priority) and the habits are quite nice and the staff has always been friendly and helpful. Plus I enjoy their revolving special events/exhibits like bugzilla and zoo lights

First time visiting the zoo in the winter. So fun! Can actually hear ourselves in the small animal building, and other buildings. Saw lots of animal being fed or trained and didn't feel too crowded! Nice!

Much better than the Zoo of my childhood in the 80's. The Asian Highlands specifically are one of the largest improvements at the Zoo. Sooo much better than those sad cement cages. It feels like the animals are happy and enjoying their habitats. The keepers I've spoken to are knowledgeable and passionate. Definitely an enjoyable experience for adults as well as kids

This is a solid zoo with a very unique setup and animal exhibits. It is located right near downtown and has free parking. During the winter there is a zoo lights. Definitely worth a visit or two.

It's a really good place to go and visit all the great animals that they have there! They also allow you to take pictures (Of course without the flash). It isn't that big so you basically get a chance to see the animals that they have there.

The carrousel and train are fun features for the kids. There are lots of primates, which are interesting to watch. As an adult, I am not really excited to go, bit is good for 1 or 2 summer adventures for the kids.

Very nice zoo, with many interesting things to see, like the mixed-animal African exhibit, with good viewing locations/angles.
Good gift shop.
Many of the animals seemed content in their enclosures, which usually gave them a bit of room to roam and things to do.
Hogle is big on opportunities to spend your money. I'm pretty sure there are more cafes, food stands, dipping-dot sellers, souvenir stores of all sizes, rides, etc., than there are exhibits.
The whole ends up with an urban, squashed, commercial feel, but it's very nice, anyway.
Good bit of parking across the street.
Expect a crowd.
My OKC zoo pass got me in for half price by going to the member desk.
On sunny days, better use that sunscreen and wear a hat -- or get a Hogle hat, like I did.

I've been to this zoo two times and I never get tired of it. I love the animals that I saw and I liked riding the train and carousel. I saw the animals including: the African Lions, the African Elephants, the Siberian Tigers, The white rhinos, the Giraffes, An ostrich, the zebras, A warthog, The Grizzly bears, I did not see the polar bears unfortunately but I did see them the first time I went to this zoo. Other Animals I saw are The Amur Leopards, the snow Leopards, a Siberian Lynx, Red foxes, Some Turkmenian Markhors, some Monkeys, the Orangutans, the Gorillas, the black footed cat, The Arabian sand cats, the reptiles, the birds, the Amphibians, and the Arachnids. It was fun, I'm definitely coming back next time!

My wife and I stopped in using the city pass. We didn't have the kids but that didn't stop us from having fun. Weather was great, staff was friendly and the animals were all out in for viewing. A beautiful facility and great walk. Weather was perfect in the morning but warmed up as it got closer to noon. They have water pads for kids and if you are willing adults. Placed offered up and close views of animals

They have revamped the zoo to be more accommodating to the animals. I love seeing the animals enjoying the area they've provided.
The kids got to feed the giraffe and ride the carousel. Their gift shop could be a little more clear on the prices and keep the sale items separate from the non sale items.

Very small for a zoo. The displays are nice but I feel it's a little bit too expensive for what it is. We saw EVERYTHING in just under three hours. Although we didn't eat there or play on the playground. The shows weren't open for the season yet.

Great zoo... we went today and it had been raining, so it was hard to really see some of the animals. They did move the monkeys indoors to an exhibit that was easy to see them. Obviously I would avoid pouring rain, but don't let drizzles and cloudy weather detour you from visiting!

Fun zoo with lots of stuff to do. Usually i'm done after about 2 hours of exploring. They do have regular zoo brew events where adults can go and purchase adult beverages and explore the park. My only complaint is that they don't give out straws or lids unless you pay for the souvenir cup and even then they don't give you a straw unless you purchase a slurpee which is kind of annoying when you have a child who has trouble drinking out of the souvenir cups which lids are sharp enough to cut open his finger. I asked several people if I could purchase a slupee straw but they were jerks about it and ended up just buying one to get a straw.

Always a good experience. Been here frequently for 10 years, and it's changed a lot. Favorite exhibit is Rocky Shores. Always fun to watch the seals, sea lions, otters, etc play around. Biggest problem is the crowds. Every exhibit is crowded, without exception. The Reptile House is full of loud children, which I realize isn't the zoo's fault but should be taken into account. Overall, a good experience, but I'd love to see what it's like without all the crowds.

Hogle Zoo is amazing!!!!
They really care about their animals here and you can see that by all of the enrichment that the animals get! There are animals of all shapes and sizes and you are sure to learn something new while spending a few hours walking around the place! There are a few hills to walk up and down, but if you have mobility issues they do rent out wheelchairs. We got an automatic one for my grandfather! Make sure to stop in and get some yummy food before you leave (I recommend the veggie burger, or mac N cheese)!
They also have really cool reusable cups with different animals on them!

Google zoo is a nice medium sized family zoo. It takes 5-8 hours to see all the exhibits during the summer they have several shows, the bird show is fun. It's been fun to take the grandkids to.

It's a good zoo, their prices on certain things can be outrages and the train ride which you have to pay for doesn't even go all around the park and it's less than 5 mins long. But there are lots of places to sit and eat, and they have places with mist to cool yourself in.
