FOOD in this place needs a lot of improvement guys. animals were great and staff was friendly
Love the Zoo! Can't get enough of the elephants!! Too peoply on free November Wednesdays!
My kids love this place. If you have a chance to see their bird show it s a lot of fun!
This is a great Zoo to visit with your kids!
I really enjoyed this and it is fantastic for kids. I went on a weekday and it was empty so we got to see all the animals alone. There are lots of different animals and there are parks and some small rides for kids. I definitely recommend this place for families! Kids of all ages can enjoy it. I would recommend packing food, since the food there can be pricey.
Awesome zoo. We love to goo here. My family bought the season pass this year. Open year round too.
Fantastic. We were gifted some season passes and they even given option to bring a nanny/babysitter. We drive all the way from Logan, but the zoo has sure grown and is impressive compared to when I was a boy. Nice work!
Love the changes since Renew the Zoo. They also do a little class activity for toddlers. We played games, read books, saw live animals like lizards and birds of prey. And then we made a cute craft at the end, before being released into the rest of the park. Grateful to have a great little zoo in our county.
Very clean zoo with happy animals! Love this place have been several times and will continue to go when im in salt lake! Love it soooo much!
Fun and clean. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.
This place is quite delightful. Seeing the big cats, the small cats and the red pandas, is a lot of fun with children.
It's not the largest or most glamorous of zoos but they do the best they can to make it a nice place for animals to live.
My wife loves animals so we came here on a date. Great place for kids, dates, family nights, or any other occasion. It isn't too expensive, but also not super cheep ether. When I first saw the zebra I thought it was fake. I suppose my brain is not too used to seeing zebras in Utah.
Beautiful zoo, not too big, but nice well cared for exhibits
The animals are close enough to be entertaining for everyone in the family.
This visit was for a work party. Everything from the exhibits to the food was on par with other zoos around the country that I have visited. The photos are of an insect exhibit at the zoo this summer.
Great spacing of animals. Wish the train was longer ruse. Speakers squeaked entire ride
It's nice but in the week they don't have everything open and the visit is incomplete
Totally awesome Zoo. If you haven't been here in a while it's a new place. Lots of new exhibits awesome exposure to the animals, again a totally awesome Zoo
Kid fun. Nice Zoo. Plenty of shops and food courts. Fun souvenirs. Kind of small, easy to get to everthing within 2 hours.
This zoo is a fun place, even in the cooler months. The exhibits are interesting and allow patrons to learn a lot while there. My toddler loves the carousel and train. There is a small mother's room where moms can have a little privacy while nursing their babies in the women's restroom at the entrance to the zoo which, although a little run down, is very helpful. It's a little expensive, but I imagine that feeding and taking care of exotic animals costs a lot, so I don't mind. One extra great thing is that they give veterans and their immediate family free entry on Veteran's Day.
A must see place if you live in Utah. Great for kids and adults
I LOVE Hogle Zoo. Every time I've gone, whether in the winter or summer, I've had a great experience. My little family loves trying to spot the animals and the new kid parks are amazing. It's nice to give the kids (and me!) a break from walking around and let them play on the different slides and play equipment. The walking paths are easy to maneuver and I've never felt pressure to buy anything from the gift shop, even when I go in to look around. The animal enclosures are beautifully done and the animals seem happy.
Small zoo, but still lots of fun. Can do the whole park in 2-3 hours if you take you time just strolling though. Very clean and food Is good as well
Great zoo. Like like the upgrades and continued improvements made to the zoo. Love seeing all the lions.
Small, full of animals, and easy to explore! This is probably one of the most well maintained zoo I've ever been to. It was clean and the animals were easy to see. There was a lot of interaction between visitors and staff, making for a welcoming experience. The admission fee was reasonable and the food is a tad pricey. You do get what you pay for. Highly recommended!
Loved everything about it. My favorite part today was the bird show, I really enjoyed it for my first time watching it and all the beautiful birds. The Seal show was really cool. The trainers inside the seal exhibit was fun and exciting to watch. My 4 yr old had the best time. We ended our day with the train ride.
Thank you Hogle Zoo for the wonderful time we spent there as a family.
Great place to take the family for the day! We travel from Idaho Falls and make a weekend out of it! Love it here!!
The weather wasn't great and a lot of the animals weren't out and the paths were blocked. Zoo staff was actively cleaning things up.
Not what it used to be when I was a kid lot smaller and to much money to see little bit of animals
We had so much fun seeing the animals and their habitats. The sculptures were cool looking too.
Very cute and well organized zoo. The animals are well taken care of. The highlight is definitely the Polar bears! It is hard to believe they can survive in the desert climate. The large pool keeps them cool and happy!
People need to learn respect, and the zoo needs more staff to handle unruly guests. Tired of people knocking on the glass and yelling in quiet areas.
However, the lower rating is because of the lack of care shown to many of the animals. Today we watched an elephant eat a post Bernstein they aren't fed enough.
I love coming to the zoo! Recently I was there and a bright young volunteer named Emily talked to me about the giraffes! Never have I been more excited to learn than when she was teaching me about all of them. Not only did I learn facts about them, but I also learned about all the fun things that she gets to do with them! I highly recommend going to the Hogle Zoo for anyone who wants to learn more about animals!
Such a fun little zoo. Very clean and we'll maintained. I feel like they are always working to make it bigger and better. My kids favorite thing is the little train ride.
Amazing.. not really holding to the whole mask up thing or social distancing way too many people to social distance.
The light displays never disappoint and the new animal figures are beautifully done.
It is the best place you can visit this varied has many places where you can be many animals, insects, reptiles and accurate information is the best place, the entrance is approximately 16 dllrs, it is great
Great educational program. Thank you for hosting my conservation biology class.
Good zoo. Glad they are expanding and always trying to improve. Love the events they have there like boo at the zoo and zoo lights that give the experience an new glow.
Great place to take the kids. It very family oriented.
Not a super large Zoo, but you can tell they are trying very hard to have natural habitats for all the animals. Very clean with nice attractions. Friendly staff.
.not enough trash cans . Way to many hills for wheelchairs. As much at it cost I was very uninpressed. People were way to rude.
The zoo is nothing like it was when I was a kid. The train ride was super short and most of the exhibits were empty. The zoo used to be fun. Now it is sub par at best
Always love going to the zoo. Family friendly, clean and easy to navigate.
We went to the Boo Lights. Didn t get to see very many animals because it was dark and they were sleeping. The decorations were pretty good and we had fun, but I m not sure we liked it enough to go again next year.
Fun place to take my toddler to see all the animals.
Animals shouldn't be caged for our entertainment. Also the gift shop is full of overpriced garbage.
The bad:
The good: This place can give you and your family or significant other an afternoon of wonder and enjoyment. Not to mention, they occassionally blast the Jurassic Park theme song because well..it's the Jurassic Park theme song. Ambience and all.
I do reccomend you come at a cooler time of the year, as many of the animals seem to be more active.
Lots of fun! With 4 boys the train is our favorite attraction, lol. The food (we ate down by the bears) was better than expected too. :)
The lights were nice but definitely not worth full admission for each person. I would not go again.
We went during the family night time on Monday from 5pm-9pm. It was great! Not only was it $5 off a ticket but it was cooler, the crowds weren t as big and the animals were more active! One thing to note though is the small animal exhibit closes at 8pm. We didn t realize that and got there at 8:20. So we missed that whole exhibit, we were pretty sad.
Went with grandsons small crowds and many of the animals were active.
Wish they had a kid free day, at least once a month
We have visited many Zoos and Hogle has become one of our favorites. Great family fun!!!
Great experience. Animal habitats are enjoyable for both residents and visitors.
Smaller zoo but filled to the brim with happy animals and interesting exhibits. I have been to several zoo's across the country and this has been my favorite by far.
