The have made a ton of improvements since I was little, and it's a fun place to see exotic animals.

The exhibits are always changing. It seems they have a hard time keeping animals for a long amount of time. The entry fee is very affordable, but most of the animals don't seem to enjoy it there.

We love this zoo. We have year pass. Everytime you go you get to see something different. We've fed giraffes, and watched a really cool bird show. Small enough to get through yet a lot to see.

It was great.. just let y'all know some of the stuff is closed like the playground & indoor exhibits. But still great

I love taking my family here. My 18 month old loves animals and had so much fun seeing all different types of animals.They have a really cool exhibit with giant animatronic bugs! And the African exhibit is really cool also.

The orangutans were sooo funny! My little brother has the same hair color and it came up right to him and reached up to him like it thought he was one of them or something!

One time visit prices are crazy expensive. Yearly is good.

Great! Baby monkey was adorable! And the zoo staff we spoke with were very kind.

Paying an obscene amount for barely any animals in the middle of a busy Saturday.

Great zoo overall compared to other zoos. I went there for zoo lights and was disappointed compared to previous years. They also closed off the wolf exhibit during this time which is a shame because it's when the wolves are more active.

My main criticism is that regular noon zoo keep staff aren't as well informed about the events as they should be.

Hogle Zoo is great. At this point they are taking reservations to keep from overcrowding. It was very clean, accessible and everyone is masked up.

We went for zoolights. We only got to see 4 animals, but it was decorated very nicely.

It's always fun for the little ones riding the train is cool

Great local zoo in salt lake. Can do it in an hour. Remember the sun screen. Does have some good indoor exhibits.

Went for the lights and did much more! Food was delicious and staff was friendly! Kids saw Santa and they loved it! Very clean and will go again!

I LOVED THIS PLACE EVER SINCE I WAS A KID. LOTS OF INTERACTION, THEY HAVE ROAMING PEACKOKS WHO ARE ALSO ALWAYS FRIENDLY, MOST IMPORTANTLY THE ZOO PUSHES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION!!!

Very small zoo, and the animals were pretty solemn. Honestly, I wouldn't waste your money. I've been to some great zoos, and I have to say that this is not very exciting.

We have had a membership for the past 4 years and won't be stopping anytime soon.
M family loves all the animals.
It's nice to just get out and have the kids be able to play and see everything.

We love Rocky Shores and the new park.
My kids always love the bird show.
We have also had the opportunity to feed the giraffes. And watch the trainers work with the Seals and Sealoins.

The train and Carousel never disappoint.
Our favorite thing is that they allow you to bring in your own food and drinks.

Best time to visit the zoo is right at opening and at closing time. Morning time is when they are getting fed so they are pretty active. Closing time is when not so many people are around and the animals come out to play

The only reason I came to this zoo was for the after hours support I was able to take part in with adults over the age of 21. I purchased adult beverages to increase awareness and help for the Colobus Monkey and felt really good about myself. I only saw a total of 5 animals, but it was worth the heat and walk to be part of a good cause.

Great prices. Situated in the mountains. Fun exhibits! My kids especially love the carousel and train.

Always an incredible experience. The staff is always great and excited to educate.

Hogle Zoo is such a great place to take the family! The kiddos (and me) love seeing all the animals and it is a great learning experience for them. We will definitely be going a lot this summer!

Nice variety of animals. Keepers are very friendly and happy to answer questions.

The zoo is always so much fun. The earlier you can go the better.

Small zoo, but my daughter loved it. She wanted to go back the next day to visit the peacock.

Had an amazing time! Absolutely beautiful zoo! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The grounds were gorgeous. The Beastro was delicious and very well priced. Not your typical "park food." Great staff! Stop in and have a bite to eat, you wont be disappointed.

So hot today. But definitely something we love to do once a year.

Even in early spring, the facilities were very nice, and as always the staff are very friendly.

Aside from the cold, had a lovely time and the lights made it even more beautiful

It is so awesome. A lot of animals. Trainings you can watch. Good food. Train ride is entertaining.

Work party we stayed after normal closing hours. Once it cooled off the animals were so active and playful. Polar Bears are my new favorite.

I actually haven t came here in a long time but I love this zoo since it s the only one haha but not much to say perfect for kids to enjoy seeing animals and a walk.

Utah's Hogle Zoo may not be the largest zoo in the country, but the Zoo makes the most of what it is. Most of the exhibits are large and clean. The oldest exhibits are probably the Small Animal and Reptile building, and the Great Ape enclosure. We buy an annual pass and go 8-10 times each year.

A nice small zoo. Avoid free days as parking can be awful and then you have to deal with the crowds. But overall, a fun zoo to visit.

Similar to the Oregon Zoo in Portland Oregon. Staff were very friendly and keepers were conscientious. They were understandably proud of their Zoo & Aquarium Association membership. Washed Up (Trademark) sculptures were all over the park. They were made entirely of debris that was washed ashore.

Compared to other cities zoos it is smaller but all the exhibits are fun and they have a wide array of animals. The zoo brews are a lot of fun as well

Always a fun time at the zoo for the whole family. Plenty of animals to see. Winter seems to be an especially good time, the animals are more active than I've usually seen and the crowds appear to be smaller. Just be prepared that they do currently require masks for everyone, for the entire visit, even though it is primarily outdoors.

Had a great time here with my kids just brings back so many memories when I was here with my parents and my grandparents.

Fun place! Clean bathrooms. A little pricy for kids.

I'm glad we have this zoo in UT but it feels small. I like everything about it but I can't shake the feeling that it could be better. Seals are my favorite exhibit along with the large cats exhibit. My kids always seem to have a good time!

Slow slow entry. Good flow in the park. No red fox or sloth

Home to some animals I've never seen before, such as the Arabian desert cat

Very fun for families. Lots of animals that you can see up close. Thought the price was reasonable for adults but a little steep for children.

But early - a lot of exhibits weren't open - animals not out.

I would come first thing in the morning or later in the evening when the animals are actually up and doing things. During the day they sleep in the shade to beat the heat.

Also, something needs to be done about the wasp problem. We moved tables 3 times trying to get away from them. We felt swarmed by 6-7 waps making eating completely impractical. There has to be something that can be done to manage the wasp population.

Beyond expensive food going to the zoo one time is plenty they have updated and at least the animals do look happier. Outrageous for tickets though

They have made many improvements in the last few years. I really like enjoyed it. The Beastro seemed like a good deal for drinking with families. I really liked the chicken.

I love the improvements made to the zoo. It's very nice. Not the largest zoo out there but then my toddler was pretty worn out before we got through everything so it's plenty big enough.

My family loved it and we can't wait for summer to have more fun

I give it four star because I am not a big fan of any zoo. I believe animals shouldn't be our entertainment and behind cage. However Hogle zoo are trying to do better also they donate and actually educate people. It's clean and nice. Animals seem to okay other then the Polar bear, Sea lions and elaphants who shows signs of stress. The area you see when you ride the train I think is wasted space that could be turned into a much better and bigger area for such animals in stress. Instead they have a run down Western theme that looks horrible and the train ride is a waste of money.

Fun place. Gets the kids out of the house for a day. They have food and even a few shows.

Love this place so much! Love the new habitats for the animals and the care they give them.

Lots of diversity, pretty clean. Good food and snacks. The staff are helpful and friendly. The price is the only downside.

Love sharing this experience with my family. The park was clean and the staff was available to answer any questions. Always a positive experience.
