The staff at the place is really helpful and kind. Free printing and computer usage is available for USF students (COVID-19 guidelines might affect the usage). Extensive variation of books are available at the place. It is always better to check the book online before coming in person. The library system's online presence is an area that should be improved. Ideal if there is a self help kiosk at the entrance of the place. Altogether a good place.

As a USF student I utilize the library almost everyday. As of late the library, in my opinion has gone downhill. It's dirty: the cleaning staff doesn't clean the bathrooms regularly, the 5th floor which is newly renovated (quiet floor) is loud and also dirty, and the computers on the first floor are very outdated and also DIRTY.

How about do some renovation on floor 3-4? Kind of old. Stair may need renovation too. Also there are ants in library. So, why 3 star? Air conditioner works well, other floors are fine, have enough seats for study on each floor. And there are many helpful study assistant services in this building. Overall, modern renovation will be great.

It seems more computer lab than library now but perhaps that's just the way of things today. I will say that most of the staff are excellent and the library enjoys good leadership. I'm giving it 3 stars though because I miss all the browsing through the stacks. Much is on line now or off site. So just what and where is this place called "library"? Is it the building or is it bits of information moving down fiber? There is something special about sitting down with a real book or magazine and just enjoying the thing or bumping into someone searching in the same area. And somehow the architecture and look of the place lacks a certain reverence. The place does look much better than it had, though. It's been much improved.

I have been coming to this library about 5 days a week every week for the past 2 years to study and catch up on assignments. (because i have nowhere else to study!) However, if I don't come super early on weekdays I end up on the floor studying. So more desks would be nice. The 4th floor that is suppose to be a quiet floor is not that quiet. People are always talking and some students answer phone calls and have a loud full on conversations. One time I told a student his music was way too loud and if he could lower the volume down he got mad and started slamming things around then picked up his stuff and left. Maybe there should be at least one employee on every floor monitoring what is going on. Also, those quiet study rooms are not so quiet, people are so loud in there and people sitting near them can hear everything they are saying. Oh and one more thing, it's super cold in there, sometimes when i go to the bathroom and glance at myself in the mirror i can see my lips turning bluish purplish. I am not sure if that's done on purpose to get students to buy some warm drinks from Starbucks! But other than that everything else is good, the front desk staff are nice and the IT staff are very helpful.

I never write reviews but I had to. Least helpful staff I have ever met. At 1 in the morning, someone locked my bike with theirs by mistake in front of the library. I went inside to ask if they could help me as I am not from here and I do not know the usual procedures. All they said was to lock my bike with theirs which is not helpful at 1 am as I would have to walk by myself. When I asked if there were any other solution like call the cops or anything, she was short and said: "yeah, then call the cops".
A student at 1 am with its only transportation method to go home with the least helpful staff I have ever met. I really hope you dont have any questions or need help in anyway.

The library here is only a library on floors 3 and up, the first floor is rowdy with a Starbucks, and the second floor is also rowdy but with a Math only computer lab. It's better late at night and early in the morning.

Not completely efficient at meeting people's requests. Especially cold in the top floors, and the only floors that you can actually use to study well in are the top floors. 1st and 2nd floor are way too noisy. Basement doesn't have a huge area for people to sit at. When you reserve a room even in the top floors, it's not guaranteed that your neighbors won't be loud. Studying in the 6th floor with a group of friends proved difficult as neighboring study rooms believed talking loudly would give them a good grade.

Students are rude and talk on the floors that are meant for silent study. One person will hog a table for 4-6 and there are barely any plugs.

It would be awesome to see this place remodeled. The library is not what it used to be... Catch up with the times USF.

The hours constantly change: the website will say it's open and it'll be closed, or it'll say it's 24/5 and then you won't find out till closing that they've changed the hours. You can see it on the website, if you don't actually look at the MAIN site. I take both winter and summer classes, and missed an assignment deadline due to hour inconsistencies. It's rather ridiculous and you're better off finding another location if you need it for the late hours.

I typically use the USF library to tutor students and sometimes work on my own work. If you go to the 2nd, 3rd, or 6th floor, there are generally several tables available and it's super quiet. It's a bit noisier on the first floor where the vast majority of the computers are located. However, I definitely would not describe the first floor as loud; it's just not as quiet as the upper floors. They've been doing renovations on the 5th floor for a long time now, but I'm sure it'll be really nice when it is done.

Parking at the library is easy, and it's location is great relative to my apartment on Fletcher and 42nd. I've never had a student complain about any aspect of the library. I enjoy working there, and I'm grateful that the library is so close and open so often so I don't have to tutor students in my apartment.

I've been at USF for 3 years now; I'll be graduating in a few weeks. I remember being able to get onto the 5th floor of the library, and I believe that they used to sell food up there. Right now, there is a Starbucks located right next to the library's front doors, but they may be selling more and different food sometime soon.

Great place to study. It has a variety of places depending on your studying tactics. If you want to have a quite area, you can go any floor from 3-6. If you wanna work with groups, you can stay in the first or second floor. It even has study rooms for people who wanna study in their own little group. Depending on the size of the group, you can choose which room you want.

More private seating would be nice.
Tutoring services are very helpful, I recommend.
The Starbucks employees are alright.
Wish they would open the windows from time to time because it smells really kept up in there.
More parking would be great. This is such a useful place to park on campus, I kind of wish they had a bigger parking garage for peak times and days... forget all of that talk about how most of the times, they re empty. This is a very useful place to park and there should be more parking.

Also solar panels on top would be nice.

A great place for all kinds of study including group study, research, or seminar presentation. There was a computer lab on the first floor, common study areas on the second floor, and quiet study areas on the third and fourth floor. There was also an excellent collection of books, CDs, and other study materials. One of the best thing on-site was Starbucks coffee store which was almost always busy.

I have been studying in the library for couple of weeks, it's getting cold every single day, especially at night.I cannot think of anything other than kicking us out of the library. Sometime I start doing push-ups to get some blood to my limbs. When i try to find a quite area, I study at the fifth floor because the warm air should have moved up at night but it gets colder as you move up to the next floor, that final floor needs just some snow.

The USF library is an essential resource to just about every student. One can get all the work done here that is needed - computers, support technologies, desks, books, and a coffee shop to help you stay awake / burn the midnight oil. Funding for the USF library is crucial, and I'd only recommend the library be open 24 hours every day! The library only closes on Friday, but it's open 24 hours many days of the week. Some people like to study on a Friday night! Aside from my joking/wishful thinking, this library is seriously a gem to the USF campus as it stands.

Each floor is designated for different purposes. 4th floor is the quiet study floor but staff doesn't regulate the rules. Students are rude and do what they please. Staff at USF could care less if you're not at student at USF, and therefore tell the public to find other public library's.
Honestly hope they treat all people with the respect due to everyone, student or not!

50,000 students, USF is charging anywhere from $1000-$10,000+ per semester and there is not nearly enough room for students to study (or park). It's not even mid terms or finals week. I suppose they could start planning new facilities now (maybe in a decade there will be some results) but how does that help all of the students who are already paying in?

So it's like 0 degrees in the library and it seems to be worse in the upper floors. When USF staff workers are not conducting their construction work or transferring of large heavy machinery extremely loud and boistreously, it can be quiet. Then you have your occasional annoying college kids that want to loud whisper ab Facebook on the 4th floor when they can do that perfectly on the first floor. It's pretty noisy and very cold overall.

Nearly half of the people in the library check facebook or play computer games. And a lot of them talk loudly in quiet floors too. Though this is expected in a second tier, mediocre undergraduate school but some hardworking and motivated students are disturbed by these irresponsible, mediocre randos.

Good luck finding a computer that actually connects to the internet. The starbucks here is ok but they usually cut corners on drinks because of how busy they get. The quiet areas usually still have people who talk loudly on their phones and there arent enough group stidy rooms unfortunately :/ its also usually freezing on the quiet floors even when its hot as heck outside so bring a jacket and pants. The cleaning staff also dont really respect the floors that say QUIET ZONE and are very annoying with their gossip

This place is too noisy and you can not.concentrate or study...Horrible
they eat and drink there and is not quiet at all...That is a pass time area. USF needs to build a Rec.Center for Socializing and let the Library be a library for studying.
