Great walk through the outside exhibits. Really interesting and educational thing to do during social distancing.
A great place to visit and learn history, especially military history.
WENT THERE FOR A GERMAN CHRISTMAS MARKET. NOT MUCH GERMAN STUFF BUT WHEN I WENT TO THE STORE THERE I PAST AN OLD 151 JEEP. "THE SMELL TOOK ME RIGHT BACK IN THE ARMY!" WE HAD THESE AT FT. SILL IN 84 & 85, THEN IN GERMANY 85 & 86. WE GOT HUMMERS IN 86. I DROVE JEEPS TO MAINZ & HUMMERS BACK TO DEXHEIM. WILL NEVER FORGET!
Great walking paths. Very nice gift shop. Used book sales have great prices.
This is a great way to step back into history. Heads up.... there's not much shade, so plan accordingly.
We went to the museum for Army family day they have a really well put together museum even my 15 month old daughter enjoyed also they have a large area outside with interactive buildings and bunkers also real tanks, a helicopter, and cannons all you can walk up to and touch along a very large walking trail. Definitely a fun day. A great place to take the family to!!
Had a great day exploring with the family. The outdoor park is great for showing kids the reality of war. The museum is very respectful of the stories it tells....one caveat....WOMEN....women have served since war began...whether on or off the field. Let's have stories of both for each era...all in all a loving and honorable presentation of our Army. Oh, and Free, but please bring a couple bucks for the donation box.
I have to go back. A lot more to see than I thought. I enjoyed it very much.
History of all the battles taught throughout the years from the revolutionary war and so on
Very nice place for people like history, especially military history
Where else can you get down inside trenches & walk through barracks & see ranks & artilary up close & then also walk through an amazing building with displays & documentaries.... too much to even mention! Oh and a great gift shop that even has used books !!! And all for FREE! The whole family will enjoy thi amazing facility that shows just how much dedication has been given to protect this great country of ours!!! A MUST SEE!!! Thank you U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center /Museum and all of it s dedicated employees and volunteers!!! We will be back!!!
We stopped here whole traveling and it is a great place to have a picnic lunch. The place is really cool showing some of what soldiers did from civil war to today. They have lots of buildings to go through and explore as well as some trenches to run through, one was fully enclosed. Lots of tanks and a helicopter to look at as well. Will worth the stop.
Great experiences for kids and adults. Lots to learn here
Very educational and awesome experience. We recommend this to anyone Wanting to learn about the US Army.
Great place! So much information! Very interactive for children! Be sure to take time to enjoy the outside!!
Alot of great information on WWII, korea, and Vietnam. Only bad thing i can say is theres not lot of info on desert storm to present.
Great area to explore our military history and get some physical activity in as well.
Can't imagine anyone, anywhere does it better. They have it all.
So much to see, the exhibits are well though out and interactive. Adults and kids will love this. If your into history or military hardware your sure to enjoy, and get educated at the same time!
Terrific indoor museum & exhibit area. Fantastic outdoor walking trail with exhibits from every US military period.
Choc full of pokestops and 3 gyms. No pokemon though. There is also a soccer field here.
Army has preserved a common soldier's life in this museum. It has collection from every major era of US soldier's life and work. It also houses the largest archive of US military documents.
We went on a day when they had the reenactments going on during the free event days. Its really kool to talk with the reenactors about the war and things they used or did during the different wars. There is alot of stuff to explore and interact with as you walk around. They had 2 different fly overs while i was there of old planes and a helicopter used during the war. They set a cannon off, i mean 5he list goes on. Very fun family activity!
Well kept all around. Over the years they also add displays on this well thought out layout.
Awesome!
They need to clean the Memorial Stones after they mow.
No respect
This is a nice little walking tour with some interesting examples of historic fighting vehicles. I came during the pandemic so only the outdoor area was open and unstaffed but it made for a nice bike-around date.
Went with my sons school as a field trip and found it all very interesting and everyone there was well informed and interesting.
It is a great place yo learn the history of the US Army.
A short easy stop on you family vacation. Places for RVs to park. Lots of space to walk around outside with family and pets. I side modern interior for museum artifacts and research.
Interactive museum, no cost, good family activity. Lots of interactive exhibits that kids of all ages can enjoy.
So much to see, outside they have tanks and helicopters, and inside there is lots of pictures, weapons. It was very nice and interested, I would recommend seeing this place.
Fantastic! Free! A must stop if you are in the area.
Nice, clean, favorite part was the trenches! Not to long of a walk. Family friendly!
I have to admit i go here more bow for poke on go but have always visited AHEC frequently. Its a nice walk and there is always interesting displays. Fairs/talks/exhibits and just awesome information at this free place. There is a lunch area to , nothing special but great for a quick bite before heading out. Staff is always helpful and kind to everyone.
I am Glad I found this Place! Lots of History and terrific Displays! I recommend the walking trails out back with the different military objects.
This is an amazing museum! The grounds themselves are so awesome! They've got tracked vehicles, artillery pieces, replicas of old Army buildings/barracks, and even a trench! My favorite was the pill box, that was pretty eye opening. Inside you have a ridiculously detailed museum, truly incredible. Great place for vets, history buffs and civies alike.
Is a great place to visit. Recommended highly and think that you would need a good day to have a full appreciation of the exhibits.
Free Museum, with tons of things to see and do. A must see while in the Hershey Area.
Went for training... Friendly people, clean atmosphere.... Has a little cafe located inside but also close to other food options and shopping.... Close to several hotels as well
It's free and very interesting for history enthusiasts
I have taken my kids to the Heritage Center and Trail twice and they have had a blast both times. The outdoor exhibits alone are enjoyable to kill some time and get a good walk in and the indoor displays are great.
The educational focus is present throughout the facilities, with history of the Army as the focus. Kids will enjoy the displays that are more interactive (like the weapon simulator, para jump simulator, etc..).
The food court is a little light on options but the MWR staff us very friendly and the prices are reasonable.
A must see for those of all ages, military, and non-military alike. This IS the home of the Army's history.
Great place. Enjoyed looking around. Thanks for saving some of our history for others to ponder.
Great piece of local military history and worth a visit.
Pretty cool experience. We didn't know this place was there until was saw the helicopters next to the highway. We made it a note on our way back through to stop. The exhibits inside are outstanding, and there are several that people can get into. It's was a cool experience!
Very fun and educational place. Has enough activities and interactive things to keep it interesting without it being too boring.
Very interactive and informational. Can help family members find out information on someone who has or currently serves
My first time visit and I am in awe of the facility itself with its library and displays not to mention the breadth of its lecture programs right in our own backyard.
I am former 79th Infantry HQ Reserves, Upper Darby, PA.
Gateway to USMA; visits start here. A unique cadet exhibit and first rate gift shop make starting and finishing your visit to West Point memorable.
Free Entry - Loved the walking tour of the different examples of history sites.
Very nice place, full of Army history. The displays and information is very educational.
Great meusum, focusing on the life of US Army soldiers. There's a great walking trail with historical building replicas like the civil war encampment and historical items like a Sherman tanks.
My wife and I have lived in the area for over 60 years had never have visited the Army Heritage Center. Parking is free..easy access from 81, we entered the facility and was received by a wonderful gentleman who explain the whole layout of the center. My wife and I were accompanied by our grandchildren and they really enjoyed the whole atmosphere though there's some areas that may affect children with sensitivity enlightenments. Personally I enjoyed shooting the laser guns and so did my grandson Billy.
This is a pretty awesome place. It has the different eras of the wars we fought. I didn't make it there to go inside on time can't wait to go back and learn more.
The history there is incredible. They are able to make it hands on my kids love going to the museum and even walking along the path amd seeing the different military vehicles
Excellent place. Very good experience. I recommend it.
A great educational experience, my grandson loved it.
Very cool place. Awesome staff and layout, family had a blast.
Very interesting museum with the focus on the individual soldier and the conditions he endures rather than battles and equipment. Easy to get to from the Turnpike and plenty of parking. The outdoor exhibits on the Heritage Trail make a pleasant outdoor walk.
Always a fun place to explore and exercise. I like going when they have reinactments and educational events.
Wonderful center. It has a built in Muesem which had free admission the day I came. (Don't know if that's always) Great interactive stuff for the kids and just a great way to learn about every major action done by the US Army. They even have a trench to know what that feels like.
A complete disappointment.
A 75th anniversary it was a complete letdown. The several veterans some of them from multiple wars were treated very disrespectfully. Left to just sit in the sun.
They should be bringing the kids from the Lehigh Valley here for a field trip!!
Excellent place to learn some of the top historical facts
It is interesting from the point of view that you can access historical information of war events of the Army of the United States. If you are interested in this aspect, you can provide data and bibliography about it.
A true history of the US mechanics of war and battle infrastructure..or doing two laps walking around will burn over 100 calories.
Great place for the family to learn about our history
