The YMCA and members is my home away from home. Very focused on wellness of members, the staff of the YMCA has always taken a personal interest in my progress to overall physical and mental health and well being. Currently I am enrolled in their special pre-Diabetes wellness program and will be measuring and documenting my progress throughout the year ahead. What better way to end busy work days than at the YMCA!

D.R. Semmes YMCA is my favorite gym. I've been going there since 2011 and even when I moved due to military service, it was one of the places I always looked forward to visiting when I would visit home. I have now moved back to San Antonio and once again I am a loyal member to this particular gym. Not only do they keep the facility clean and the gym equipment updated and functional, the STAFF is truly what makes this place a gem in the heart of San Antonio. Even though there has been some turnover when it comes to employees, the past and current ones have always made me feel welcome and wanting to come back. This is proof that management is doing a great job at training and taking care of the staff! Keep it up!

Ive been working out at the ymca since they had there downtown location. I think the YMCA tripoints is one of the nicer gyms in san antonio. 1) its ALWAYS cleaned. which is a big problem if youve ever been to a golds gym. they clean the equipment daily and it shows. 2) they have every workout equipment a gym needs. 3) the staff is great

I rated this 4 stars because I wish they added a sauna or hot tub somehow.. thats just me being picky.

Our family has been in this program since 2008 and it has been a godsend. Both of our boys have not only enjoyed it but have grown from the experience as well. Kids learn how to socialize and be helpful in a well supervised but less structured environment than school. They have choice and are free to make decisions about how they use their time which teaches them prioritization. As parents we ve enjoyed the convenience and hours, and knowing our child is in a safe place having fun.

The bodyflow class I attended was amazing!! I can t remember the instructor s name but he lead a great class. The staff was very helpful in showing me where everything was it was my first time attending this particular Y. The locker room was nicely kept and the free use of a hairdryer was a blessing since I was headed back to work! Will definitely go back for a lunch time workout and highly recommend to anyone who s on the fence about joining

I am a member with the YMCA Coastal Bend and with the San Antonio community. I have been very pleased with the SA program. The classes at the D.R. Semmes Family YMCA are well attended, great workouts, and I look forward to them. The facility is clean, organized, and provides space for us to sit and take a breather. The YMCA does great things for the community and the organization supports my health goals for a healthy life.

Good gym space - worst child watch! The care givers don t even try to pretend to be happy and enjoy playing with the kids. I don t feel comfortable leaving my kids with people who don t want to watch them

My daughter attends the YMCA's after school program at her elementary school and has loved it since day 1. She has a lot of fun and the programming gives her the time and space to run around and play with her friends after the long school day...and she always has positive things to say about the staff.... I think they are awesome too.

The only thing I would change would be to include a tutoring and/or homework corner that parents can opt to have as a mandatory 30min daily stop.

I consider my wife, kids and I as a traveling YMCA family. This location is one of our new favorites. The neighborhood feel with a spacious gym layout. The staff are helpful and friendly. We plan on returning to this location in the furture.

I attempted to transfer my account from Austin YMCA to the San Antonio location. Now I have to jump through hoops to get some letter verify I actually had an account in Austin and now its impossible to get because Austin won't answer their phones. This tells me YMCA doesn't want my business. Heard so many horror stories about getting transferred to a San Antonio location. This just means $0 a month for YMCA instead of the $96 a month and I'll spending heck of a lot less down the road within walking distance instead of driving to 281 and St. Mary's. Too bad San Antonio YMCA doesn't want my business anymore.

I have been a regular for four months. It is the best Y I have visited from about six around the country. Great facility and resources. The only thing lacking is a pool, but that is OK with me, though I would use one.

Following Up on Ja.G about the child care area...YES it really looks like they do not want to be there. The rug that the kids lay on, especially the little ones - very DIRTY !!! My little guy gets sick everytime we go over there. I do not know what the policy is on babies or children who have runny noses...:(

Ok so,,,, I take my son to the "play care". And I'm told he can't play in the gym for OLDER kids cause they rotate (or whatever). I was told I hv to go in there to watch my son. But there are 4 girls(employees) sitting doin nothing at table. Why can't 2 be in the gym part and 2 with babies. Lazy is what I see. Easy money sitting on your " ".

I love the welcoming and friendly staff! We feel like the D.R. Semmes YMCA is a safe and judgement-free community to exercise, it starts with the staff and trickles down to the gym-goers. There are many different programs to choose from to supplement our gym workouts that we enjoy.

So I've had this gym membership for less than a year and I'm going to cancel. Gym employees are pretty rude and we were lied to about the accessibility of the gym. After reviewing the terms of what we were told when we signed up to what we're told now it's clear we were lied to and we're being ripped off and I'm sorry but I won't let this establishmemt take my money. Be wary they are wolves in sheep's clothing trying to steal every penny from you.

Its a really nice gym but

Its a really nice gym but
As a program that claims to be family oriented, it fails miserable in the child care center area. The girls they had looking over the kids were not suited for the job. They seemed as if they didn't want to be there and from what I observed didn't supervise adequately. I know it's not an accredited day care facility which I'm not basing this review on but what I saw left me very disappointed. I'll be giving another location a try and hope the child care workers actually have an interest in child care. C'mon it's on the job title.

Professional & friendly staff, clean facility, most cardio equipment well-maintained. However, members can be inconsiderate ~ some do not cover their cough/sneeze while on cardio machines. Perhaps staff should better enforce COVID 19 protocols by patrolling the entire facility & remind/eject members who violate social hygiene protections.

About TriPoint and New Braunfels Family YMCAs

TriPoint and New Braunfels Family YMCAs are two branches of the YMCA organization that have been serving their respective communities for many years. The YMCA is a non-profit organization that focuses on strengthening communities by providing opportunities for individuals to learn, grow, and thrive. With a mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all, the TriPoint and New Braunfels Family YMCAs offer a wide range of programs and services to people of all ages.

The TriPoint YMCA is located in San Antonio, Texas. It was established in 2008 as part of the Baptist Health System's Wellness Center. In 2010, it became part of the YMCA organization. The facility offers state-of-the-art fitness equipment, group exercise classes such as yoga and Zumba, personal training sessions with certified trainers, swimming lessons for children and adults alike in their indoor pool area with lap lanes or leisure areas available depending on your preference.

The New Braunfels Family YMCA is located in New Braunfels city which is situated between Austin & San Antonio cities in Texas State. It has been serving its community since 1984 when it was first established as a small fitness center by local volunteers who wanted to provide an affordable place for people to exercise. Today it has grown into a full-service facility offering everything from fitness classes like cycling or Pilates to youth sports leagues like basketball or soccer.

Both branches offer childcare services while parents work out at the gym or participate in other activities offered at the Y such as swim lessons or dance classes. They also have summer camps available where kids can enjoy outdoor activities like hiking trails nearby parks & riverside areas along with indoor games & crafts too.

One unique aspect of these YMCAs is their commitment to social responsibility through various community outreach programs such as food drives during holidays season where they collect non-perishable items from members & staff then donate them locally based charities who help those less fortunate families living around them.

Another program offered by both branches is called "Silver Sneakers" which provides free gym memberships for seniors over age 65 who are enrolled in certain Medicare Advantage plans; this program helps seniors stay active while also saving money on healthcare costs associated with aging-related issues like diabetes or heart disease prevention measures etc.,

In addition to these programs mentioned above there are many more offerings available at both locations including sports leagues (basketball/volleyball), swim team competitions against other local teams within same age groups categories (6-18 years old), after-school care options during school year months only but not limited too - homework assistance provided along with snacks provided daily basis etc.,

Overall TriPoint and New Braunfels Family YMCAs are great places where people can come together regardless of age income background ethnicity religion etc., Everyone can find something they enjoy doing whether it's working out alone or participating group activities/classes offered throughout week days evenings weekends too!
