Got a skincare treatment at Schiphol, amazing product!!
It's good airport but water fountain not working little disappointed me
Overall it's good place for transit but needs to have things more considering people friendly and thinking about people in long transit
I would suggest to visit it once corona pandemic ends because my post corona experience was very good on this airport.
First of all, I didn t like the fact that the furniture has been designed to discourage sleeping. I had a 4hr lay-over and needed a nap. All their sockets were European so you ll need an adapter if you have a US plug.
I loved the transfer security. One didn t have to take of shoes or laptops out of bags. It was super quick.
The airport is a silent airport so one would not hear announcements through the PA. One had to rely on the screens to find gates and information. There were announcements at the gate however.
I recently visited Japan and upon my arrival back in the Netherlands I immediately noticed how poorly this airport is heated. It really feels like the heating is completely off or really not working like intended. The terminals are very cold which makes even a simple meal at the Burger King feel very uncomfortable.
Great connections to the city, leave the terminal and you find yourself at the train station, easy. Security staff nice. Good variety of shops. The only minus was when an officer at the EU passports only line didn t recognize my EU passport, checking a list of member countries and asking a colleague if my country is really in EU. But still one of my favorite airports.
I simply love this airport! So beautifully designed! This airport is very modern with a sleek design. There are refreshing plants throughout the airport which makes it feel green. There are a nice selection of shopping places as well as places to eat. I really liked stopping through this airport. It really makes you appreciate simple structural design. Only downfall was getting through customs, of course. I highly recommend you to arrive 1-2 hours prior to your flight in order to make your way through customs; lines can be extremely long.
It s the best airport to have a long layover at. Actually it s the best airport period in Europe if am not exaggerating. I love that it s friendly, large, very well connected and getting around it is so easy. I love all the facilities in it especially the lockers and the hotel. Best thing ever. I had an 8 hour layover and was worried of what to do. 5 hours in the hotel and 3 hours eating and drinking coffee went super quick. The rate for the hotel is a bit pricey but it is ok.
Nice airport but then too small for the number of people travelling. There is space to sit and enjoy the view specially those on the corners. There are chairs dedicated for the disabled people too.
They have all the major fast food stalls you just need to search for it.
It's a nice place and I always enjoy been around here. In fact I prefer here as my transit center than others.
Neatly organized, highly efficient, attention to varied customer needs
Very well organised airport, good places to eat and shop, train network below the airport, bus services excellent right outside the airport. Very easy and fast to get to airport by public transport.
Staffs are very friendly and attentive. Facilities are great!
Incredibly big, but very well organized and up-to-date. I saw many comfortable places to rest while waiting for your flight.
One of the very few airports in the world, where you don't have take liquids, laptop, electronic gadgets out of your bags for security inspection. The staffs are very friendly and courteous. After security inspections you'll have loads of restaurants to eat for, but I'd recommend grabbing something from Albert Heign. It's cheap and you'll have many options to choose from! Happy travel!
Very nice and clean and easy structured. Many employees who provide you helpful information until you find the flight information screens.
Schiphol is very big and always busy but we'll arranged, clean, 24 hour bars and even smoking rooms. At night the great variety of shops is closed. Before you leave for the airport check how long it takes to get to your gate because it can be quite a walk.
Very clean and sorted. Nice signs.
A lot of store & restaurants options in duty free.
Got tax refunds? Like lines? Schiphol is the airport for you. Although it's a incredibly beautiful airport it's terribly inefficient. By the time you start in Dutch customs, get your Global Blue tax refund, move onto Travelex tax refund, check in with your airline and go through two lines of security and passport control it will take you a over an hour and half to two hours before your actually on your way to the terminals so come early. The lines do move surprisingly fast though.
As for arrivals it's somewhat easier. However, there are only six baggage carousels for this massive airport. Everyone is right and top of each other and while everyone tries to get their bags. You could have up to six arrivals on one carousel. Kind of a mess.
The WiFi is fast and there are lots of great food and shopping options. It's clean and the people are friendly. I would just recommend you come a little early so you don't have any issues.
Avoid Schiphol Cargo if you will import live plants. Only dutch importers will have the living plants released in time. They kept my shipment of live plants for 7 days with no real reason, claming that they are "waiting for internal decision". Keep in mind that if you don't use a dutch company to make the import, they will ask you for impossible import permits and they will keep your shipment as long as possible. If you use a dutch company, you will not need an import permit and you will have your plants released in less then 24 hours. I do not recommend working with this kind of people...
Very large airport with lots of things to do. I loved coming here as a kid to watch the planes (and still do) there is a small mall at the entrance of the airport and behind pasport control you have many more things to explore, like the mini rijksmuseum many shops and even a small library. (and much more)
The lady who gives the passengers directions was given wrong information to a lot of passengers out. She was sending everyone to the boarding with the check in luggage. So the other passengers stopped the people halfway and sent them straight to the check in counter. Everything else is fine. The supermarket was unbelievable well stocked from around the world.
I promise you ll never find a worse airport than this one. Didn t even bother putting some seats out for the people who had to wait the whole night. And it happened that all flights of a day got canceled because of fuel problems in the airport(more than 170 flights). People were sleeping on the cold floor. There was only one restaurant for people to eat at and if you re not a fan of greasy burgers, you re just going to have to adapt at this airport. Just sitting here writing this they continue to delay the flight by 40 minutes more. I would not be surprised if they cancel this all together and my whole holiday completely ruined. If you ever dare to visit here, come say hi. I ll probably be shaking on the floor eating cheeseburgers several years before they sort themselves out.
It's a nice experience even during the pandemic everyone is wearing a mask and following the necessary protocols. Make me feel safe
Disaster! No hand sanitizer at all! How they think that they can open when no measures are taken! You can say that Schiphol is the gate for COVID-19 to invade Europe. They should learn from Asian airpors how to deal it. Shame! They know that a lot of people need to reach their destinations and Schiphol is taking advantages of that!
What I love about Schiphol AirPort is the easy way to get from A to B. You can walk every where you have to go, great shops at each series of gates, good directions and enough personnel when needed to ask questions.
The handling of luggage has become slightly slower than it used to be but then air traffic has grown considerably over the years.
Another thing that I appreciate is the respect fullness of custom officers. In some countries you are treated as a criminal, at least at schiphol you are not
Very clear/easy to navigate. Not 5 stars because it's not an architectural wonder or wtv.
I went to the KLM crown lounge 25 and that's a nice spot to work/wait. I was very happy to have this option.. I had 7 hours to kill before my next flight.
It a busy airport, facilities are nice and so many convenience store here. Be more extra careful with your luggage
The airport of Amsterdam
Looks and design is just mediocre
Thermal insulation is pathetic, people ensure in winter, that you get out of the aircraft in your winter wear.
Toilets flush not working, and drinking water water fountain broken.
Wash rooms were simply inadequate however, the wait was not much
Did not at all expect such from an European international airport.
Asian airports are far ahead
The staff is very cordial.
Lots of stuff to look at and a very interesting tourist area.
Nice and friendly experience. However, it's almost impossible to find an English book (or any foreign language book) in the bookstores, and it was quite difficult to find a working socket (or perhaps they are all switched off on Sundays)
Can be a bit overwhelming. But very nice. And for all smokers, it is no longer allowed. Found out the hard way.
One of the best airport that I have ever seen. Really organised and super big. You can find whatever you want inside the airport. My airplanes were always in time. Five stars are not enough!
Great Airport so 5 stars 1 Star for the lady with ginger hair at the Wheelchair Assisance desk who was rude. Stood waiting whilst she played a game on her phone, spoke whilst still playing her game, was unhelpful when asking for assistance with our elderly friend. Really not a nice person and only interested in getting back to her phone game
The airport is good and has a lot of amenities. Despite the size, it is very easy to navigate here. Food prices are high, and the building is looking a bit dated. Some toilet groups are old, although they are reasonably clean. The train connections are excellent.
Some auto walks are out of service, but this may be because of major works in the building.
I gave one star because of the poor Covid measures. People were bumping me and there really was no distance. Shops had empty disinfection pumps. The staff was also not keeping distance, for example those that regulate crowds or that read your boarding pass, even when they could. The staff did nothing to enforce the rules, even if it happened right before their eyes.
I understand people have some responsibility on their own, but the airport didn't even seem to be trying.
Great recreation area, good wifi, places to charge the phone. The variety of food and souvenirs pleasantly surprised me. +1 to great navigation, even though it requires a bit of walking.
Very clean, very big, but super well organised and easy to navigate.
No places to work from or to charge a laptop or phone.
If you have to do some work, you have to book a lounge to have access to a table with a socket.
On the other hand: Wifi works exceptionally well and the airport is well designed and it is easy to find your way around it.
Great airport! Signage is really good. Al modern shops and facilities. All personal are friendly and ready to help.
Everything is well organized as always, except the luggage drop desk
What an incredible airport. My grandfather was an engineer that travelled all over the world and this was his favourite airport ever, and I totally understand why. This airport doubles as a shopping centre filled with tons of restaurants to choose from and stores, as well as a train station. The train system was super easy to figure out as this was my first trip to The Netherlands. This airport is massive, very modern, and very clean. I genuinely enjoyed flying in and out of this airport. 4 hours in the airport flew by because there is so much to see and do, as well as this airport has their processes figured out. We were through security and customs in 7 minutes on a Friday at noon.
KLM lounge is beautiful. Modem with full service. There are shower room and sleep center.
One of the best airports in western Europe in terms of cleanliness, flexibility, comfort and time saving.
Great airport for shopping, walking, eating and enjoy the lounges
Really neat airport. Only issues were how cold it was But the one day, it was raining which I can understand, but even still. The layover was long and where we were was so cold. Food at their airport is expensive . If you're carrying Euro, great no problem. But in Canadian dollars, you pay lots for food. Nice layout though. Best design. Very clean. They help travellers efficiently.
It's a very busy airport, but is well designed. The sign in the airport is very clear so you won't get lost. When you arrived in the airport, you can buy your ov card via OV-kard machine to take a train to your accommodation after you passing the customs. It's very convenient.
Schipol Airport has everything from the actual airport, it's a casino if you want to gamble, shopping mall, resteraunts with good food, a few bars with excellent beer, designated indoor smoke rooms. This the best airport in the world, you can have a good time and great experience!
Great airport, very clean and well maintained. Most everything is open.
Nice airport, nice stores and bars, can find some good stuff for a good price, a good drink and food even with this restrictions...
I guess along Singapore, this must be one of my favorite airports. Everything is so fast, accurate and clear. From the hotels inside of the airport to the working stations or relax areas, this airport is beyond amazing
Big airport, so be prepared for a walk, but generally nice atmosphere.
Here you can literally spend a day without getting bored. super large and attractive. everything is very clearly marked.
Good airport, unfortunately from some gates one need to claim up stairs which is not terribly convenient with kids and luggage
Well organized port. Make sure you secure a sufficient transit time - to get from one terminal to another it may take up to 30 minutes!
Huge airport. A lot of walking usually... good connection to trains and rental cars. A lot of shopping and cafes available.
Overall a pretty good airport, transfers can be a tad tiresome and far apart..
Shocking to see how 20 year olds just break about every rule in social distancing due to covid19 when a friend returns from a red flagged country. Good thing that travellers are offered a chance to get tested, wished it was me who got tested also but this time I just needed to pick up two people that will go into quarantine for the next 10 days
Great apart from staff unaware of Covid masks used and approved for offshore are1. The wrong colour. 2. Do not have esr bands 3 wrong shap3. 4. they are only dust masks!!
Unacceptable for an airport to redirect all planes right above the city! The peak is between 7 an 8:30 am and the noise is just unbearable. It is not possible to have routes ABOVE THE CITY CENTER! And sad that the people s opinion and quality of life is not important for such a renown airport. Did not expect that from a so called civilized country.
My first airport in Europe. Love the friendly people here and the cold crisp air. Passport control took less than 5 mins to go through even with a full plane. US can learn from them.
It was more than 20 years ago that I visited this great place. I only can imagen that its having to become better in all these years
It was nice and quiet, also the toilets where perfectly clean.
Its ok. But why you let come in so many people to the one bus? There's no safety distance.
It was easy to get to Amsterdam airport, very busy but very organized.
Unlike Gatwick and Heathrow just a nicer place less walking to do
One of the busiest Airport in the world.
Serving many transit flight.
Very clean and well maintained area.
And you can find easily many public area such as Toilet and Store around.
International Cafe or Restaurant also available, or you can try a local tasted.
I've used the airport a few times over the years, it's never been a bad experience...
The place itself is of a large size, has the standard things within, your shopping stores, refreshment joints, toilet facilities, plenty of seating and etc.
Like i said, if you've been to a airport of similar stature, you'd pretty much know the gist of it all.
All in all, good experience.
Wonderful airport with all quality services. It is designed well with very less complexity, all the gates and facilities under one roof. It neither looks crowded nor empty. There are variety in sitting arrangements, even study desks. I have only one complaint that it has power outlets suitable for European type only.
I stayed there one hour but was so good, and I love the staff that they work in information they are so so nice
KLM is a joy absolutely love the company and a very nice airport that is quite comfortable with a good happy vibe.
Barely any shops with good food, i mean barely any food-shops inside the terminal at all
Schiphol Airport is a nice one with good direction where to go. Easy to get there with car or train.
It s a bright, clean airport. It seemed to require miles of walking in order to make transfers. There were some moving sidewalks, but not nearly enough to accommodate slower and/or people with less stamina, people with children, handicapped, elderly, etc. Also the moving stair walks are too narrow to accommodate the people who want to pass slower passengers. This last category consists of many people in a rush, who are either totally unaware of others, or are terribly rude.
It would probably take a significant culture shift to improve these conditions.
Large, clean, helpful staff..Easy to find way around, eg, Train connection to get to Central Station in Amsterdam.
This is truly a great world class airport and main international travel hub. Its easy to get around. Has lots of great eateries. Lots of great shopping at good prices. The check-in and arrival process is smooth. If your connecting and have a long wait, check your bags into a locker for a small fee and take the train right from the airport into Amsterdam and walk around, check out the restaurants, and people watch at the cafes. The link between the airport in central Amsterdam is superb and quick. You will find very friendly airport staff who speak perfect english and are always happy to help you in whatever you need or direct you to where you need or want to go. Hats of to the Dutch. They got it right. This is how a major airport should function.
Beautiful airport
Free wifi
Good staff
I was taking KLM Dutch airlines flying from Amsterdam to New Delhi.
It was nice
Modern airport that is easy to navigate around for flight or train. A bonus point is that it s so close to Amsterdam. Truly nice airport.
All was good except the tax refund system its too poor you should do like Dubai everything has done in the shops so there is trust between shops and tax refund departments the lady asked me to show all the stuff I bought one by one while I had at least 8 bag travelling with family and kids how can I starts unpacking like seriously
